(I live north in round rock) my boyfriend and I wanted to come get a quick oil change in the express lane. They shortly told us the wait would be over 3 HOURS!! I was super upset until they told us they have a complimentary Lyft service that will drop you off and pick you up as you please while they're servicing your vehicle!!!! So awesome. I took them up on that but not before I went inside and noticed a FREE coffee and snack bar inside. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. This place gets zero complaints from me and only busy now on. A few months later my truck had an issue, long story short I showed up at the dealership with my issues and I was heard and understood and I was not disregarded. I live here in Austin, TX and purchased a vehicle from San Antonio, TX. Why? Because walking in the Austin Subaru dealership over several years ago, as a person of color, I felt as though I was viewed as a second class citizen and that I was 'never going to be in a class to purchase their product'. All we saw with the demographics within the store were non-black customers. And because of how they made me feel then, as a result, I no longer trust any dealership from Austin. About 3 weeks now, I am a proud owner of a 2019 Subaru Forester Touring, I needed some help with the programming of the seats. My wife and I had our seats programmed at the dealership, but as I became more comfortable with the vehicle, I wanted to adjust my seat differently. Reading over the manual, several times. We thought we had it reprogrammed, but it reverted back to the original setting. Not sure why, but we felt we needed some help from the dealership. Even though we didn't purchase our vehicle from Austin, we believed we could get the same good customer service we received San Antonio simply because it is a Subaru! I thought it would be a simple fix to walk us through getting the seat reprogrammed. However, we were met with quite a bit of red tape in that we had to set up an appointment! Just to walk in and show us how to reprogram my seat! I decided to give the San Antonio dealership a call and they basically walked me through the 'very technical' process, which was easier than everyone else made it out to be! So, it appears that customer service is not at the forefront of all Subaru dealerships in Austin because they only cater to so-called white customers. They would never expect a so-called black man to purchase a Subaru, so I get treated differently because my skin is dark ... and I didn't buy it from their dealership! Funny as it may seem, maybe if they would have showed us how to fix our one problem, then we would have considered going to the 'class' that they were offering to learn more. I suppose they were not thinking like that. Hmmmm. Of course, the majority of Subaru owners are so-called white folks. So it you are a person of color, do not patronize Austin Subaru. They treat people on the condition of what they look like vs the product that they bought - even if you don't buy it from them. read more

I came into today looking for a new vehicle that would be efficient. Burak was my salesman today and I could not be any happier than I am right now. I was in the market for a preowned midsize SUV and the first day I started looking, the first place I went to was Austin Subaru. I didn't wind up purchasing from them but I just wanted to share that I had a lovely experience there. The atmosphere was very welcoming and calm and not at all high pressure. Brittany Nelson was great to work with and I had her undivided attention. Much different than my experience at Toyota Autonation. She was very knowledgeable and personable and I left there feeling like I learned a lot from talking with her. I can't say enough good things about Austin Subaru. I recently purchased my Subaru last November and have come in several times for an oil change, to have my A/C fixed, and for them to fix a part due to a recall. I always hated going to the dealership until I started coming here! Everyone is so kind, they allow you to bring your dog with you, and they have a fully stocked complimentary coffee bar. I also love that they have free lyft rides to and from your home while you are waiting for your car to get fixed. I recently had to come in due to some brake issues, and Adam quickly took care of the issue for no charge. They have a customer for life! I highly recommend this dealership! read more

Sales representative was awesome throughout entire process. Issues came into play with finance representative. I am an RBFCU customer and was told I would have a seamless experience. I asked to finance directly through RBFCU and the finance representative began the process. I though it was odd that he had not contacted RBFCU but since I was working with one of their preferred dealers I was sure I was in good hands. I wanted to put $3,000 down and have it taken out of my checking. Paperwork processed and I drove away in my new to me car. 3 weeks later dealership calls and let's me know they need $3,000 for down payment. I was confused as finance rep said it would come out of account. I contacted RBFCU and asked about the issue and why I had not been contacted to close deal through them and take advantage of MMP protection. They told me I could not due to way dealership had handled financing. Long story short, the dealership chose to finance how they wanted instead of through RBFCU as I had requested. This is putting me in a position where I have possible out of pocket future expenses due to not being given RBFCU Mmp protection due to them wanting to make money off of their products. I have reported to RBFCU and they told me in future for members to close deal through RBFCU members must have dealership send PO to them. Which is what I asked for finance rep to do in first place. Live and learn. Hope vehicle maintains. Hope this helps RBFCU members avoid my frustration. Hands down the most hassle ridden car purchase of my life. read more

Pros: There's a FREE coffee bar! They sent an uber to pick me up! It's clean and they use all green products. We really liked our dealer. CONS: We agreed to a loan rate and then all of a sudden when we were signing documents they raised the rate! That was frustrating... They definitely try to upsell you on a bunch of stuff you don't need, but that's sort of standard car sales stuff, right? read more

Also its expected the car service guys need to enter my service records in the car to alert me back on next service which is least part of the job. Completely unethical sales team. It has been 4 months since I bought my 2016 Forester from this dealership and it still makes me sick to my stomach to think about. I am only writing this so other people looking to buy a Subaru drive a little further to another dealership. I went in on a holiday weekend and it was busy! I met a really nice sales person named Don. He let me drive both cars (Forester and Outback), and spent a decent amount of time with me. I told him I would come back and buy from him when ready. The next day I received an email stating that Don was no longer with the dealership and if I was interested in following up with my purchase, to speak to Ashleigh Chevriler. I had gone back to test drive the Forester that I initially test drove and the exact one I wanted one more time, and set up an appointment to see Ashliegh a couple days later to work numbers. She was kind and not your usual pushy sales person. She let me drive the car again, while she was finishing up with another customer and then returned to begin negotiating. We settled on a price and trade in and loan approved. At this point I had been at the dealership for about 2 hours, when Ashleigh told me that the car I had been negotiating on, was suddenly not available. She literally claimed that it was sold in the last 30 minutes (while I was there negotiating on that specific car). What?!?! She went to talk to her manager (one of many times) and came back with "Great News". They found one that was almost identical and had sent it immediately to be cleaned up and prepared for me. I really had no idea how one magically appeared, but figured that the manager had been able to find one that she didn't realize was in stock. This manager by the way is Eddie Hummell. Be warned, he is the definition of slippery talk, deception, and straight up caught him in a couple of lies to me. Finally after 3 hours into the purchase process, this magical car was presented to me. I immediately noticed a significant ding on the passenger door and the entire hood had been bombed by bird poop. They immediately rushed it back to be washed and I didn't see it again until all the paperwork was signed and the purchase final. Basically I was sold a damaged car, used by some unknown person, was told 2 conflicting stories by Eddie regarding this, had to return the car for repairs to the door ding, a dent and scratch on the hood and 2 stains on the interior only to find the special weather mats had been replaced with the cheaper version. Too many lies and tales of deception to lists here. Just be warned. read more

I have long wanted an Outback and went into this dealership about 4 years ago to test drive one when they were still at the old location. It was a great experience, and we had a knowledgeable, laid back sales associate. There was absolutely no pressure when we walked, and we ultimately decided to wait on purchasing an Outback until they had a better interior design. Fast forward to today and the Outbacks have been redesigned and Austin Subaru has moved into their new location off Burnet. Our sales associate we worked with this time was younger, less knowledgeable, and very high strung. Not exactly "on brand" for Subaru, but we were more than willing to give him a chance. That being said, there is a lot of Outback inventory available in the Austin area, and given that Subaru of Georgetown also had the exact car in the exact colors we wanted, we would be foolish not to use that to our advantage when negotiating. I emailed Austin and Georgetown Subaru and laid out the situation openly and honestly. I told them I was considering both dealerships, was purchasing this weekend, and would work with whoever gave me the best emailed price on the Outback I wanted. I specifically asked for the most competitive price possible. Austin Subaru gave me $300 off, which was barley less than the price the Georgetown location had listed online. From there, I wrote them thanking them for their time and let them know the Georgetown dealership had made a better offer so I would be moving forward with them. No response, no counter offer (which I didn't necessarily expect), no "thank you for considering us." I'm in sales myself and was actually pretty surprised that our sales person (who seemed hungry for a sale in person) let a serious buyer walk away like that. Long story short, we ended up purchasing from Subaru of Georgetown as they was more willing to negotiate on price, had professionally persistent follow ups, and had a much more laid back sales approach. read more

Do not go here. Nine hours and one $98 oil change later I wish someone had warned me. I dropped off my one year old Subaru Outback (which I love and for the record was purchased elsewhere) for the 15,000 mile service this morning at 8 am. The service rep was very friendly at first as he pulled out the official looking and extensive two page brochure of recommended service with a cost of $350, along with an additional list of $200 recommended services. After I was revived from my fainting spell I told him that I was really only interested in the maintenance required to maintain the warranty. To this he again said that was the list in front of me. Hmmmm. A stand off. I told him I guess I'd better go look at my service book, to which he said I guess you better. Out at my car, I reaffirmed that we just needed to check fluid levels, change the engine oil, and change the cabin air filter (done on my own). When I came back inside I guess our little dance was over because his tone had completely changed now that I had the proof it was all business. I was brusquely written up and pointed to the shuttle. Flash forward 8 hours later and I hadn't heard anything, so I called Subaru Austin and after 4 attempts managed to get my service rep on the phone and he let me know that the car was ready. I'm not sure why you need to speak to your specific service rep for this, it seems like something that could be easily automated and accessible to any of the employees, just an idea... Anyway thank god, car was ready so I returned to the dealership and was hit with a $98 bill for an 8 hour oil change. The Subaru Austin website advertises an "everyday low price" of $79.99 for a synthetic oil change, which I asked about but was told that is only up to 5 quarts and my car took 6, how convenient. I'll definitely make the extra drive to Georgetown Subaru for any other service needs. read more

We LOVE our Outback! However, being the only Subaru dealer in Austin they don't like to work with you too much on pricing. We ended up requesting quotes through Edmunds.com and received much better pricing. We presented this to our sales person at Austin Subaru to see if they could match it and they wouldn't. So we saved about $800 and drove to a Subaru dealer in Houston. Well worth the money. The reason I gave Austin Subaru two stars is when we choose to save money and purchase our car from another dealer, our sales person sent us a nasty email with personal attacks. We then forwarded this email to the GM of Austin Subaru and we never heard a thing. Quite disappointing... Though we live in south Austin, we will be driving to Georgetown to have our Subaru serviced. : ) read more

The whole Austin Subaru team is awesome, but Will Heller is above and beyond. Besides just being a cool human, he's incredibly knowledgeable on all Subarus, is personable and really cares about you and your car! They didn't have the part for my crosstrek in their shop that day, and (I can't remember if it was Will himself or he had someone else do it, but) they went to the Georgetown dealership to pick up the part and finished the job same day so I didn't have to be car-less for two to three more days, waiting for the part. It saved my life and meant the world to me. If you're having car troubles I would specifically request Will if possible, he made everything so much easier and faster! I'm not making this up ... I have cash, am literally ready to buy a WRX, and the dealer is refusing my business because I previously left a bad review on Yelp (based on very poor sales service). YES, AUSTIN SUBARU MAKES ASSUMPTIONS ON WHO LEAVES BAD YELP FEEBACK AND REFUSES TO DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE THAT LEFT BAD FEEDBACK ON YELP. What a horrible business practice. This is a direct quote from an email from the dealer's sales manager to me: "you also mentioned to our Yelp fans to come here and test drive, and just 'go down the road' afterwards to Georgetown 'to buy'. Is this your intention again this time? I apologize, but I am not sure we want to take that chance again. What would happen if we didn't meet your expectation pricing again? Would there be another bad Yelp review? I believe this would be similar to walking into a Eddie V's restaraunt and then leaving a bad Yelp review because their prices are higher than the Eddie V's in Denver, Colorado. Not because service was any better, or worse. The opportunity is appreciated, but unfortunately, we are not interested in obtaining business from anyone who 'trashes' our dealership for apparent no reason and encouraging other to buy from our competition, not us." Seriously, I can't make this stuff up! They refuse to even talk to me about matching a price from a dealer right down the road (less than 20 miles away). I was not mad about them not matching the price; I was mad about how they refused to respond about my inquiries. And mad that they lied to my face and said "oh there is no way other dealers can sell cars at those prices." Oh yes Austin Subaru, there is a way, and you know it. I know you are used to playing the car-buying games, but when you lie to a former law enforcement officer, you cannot expect to get good feedback. That, "mister sales manager," is what you call "an apparent reason." Funny analogy the sales manager sent me about the steaks in Colorado vs Texas. Uuugh, we're not talking steaks here guys. We're talking an identical commodity that is in the same market. Just admit it, you just want to sell cars to people that are willing to pay sticker. Nothing wrong with that; it is a free country. Just don't lie about it. So what if I drove the WRX, and they refused to match the price I wanted? As long as they were honest about it, yes, I would have gone and bought the car down the road, but I would have returned to Austin Subaru for years of service for my vehicle and a relative's vehicle. And I would have written an updated (and positive) Yelp review if I was treated fairly. Just see my review of Land Rover in Austin for the exact same scenario, except I was not lied to nor banned from the dealership. Yes Austin Subaru, you have lost all of that service business for not only me but for family members. Bottom line, Austin Subaru is bottom-of-the-barrel (well, two of their employees are ... there was an incredibly nice online chat representative that clarified for me that they do not have a policy of refusing sales to people that write negative reviews of their dealership). read more

Once your sale is complete, don't expect any sort of attention from your sales person. We purchased from Austin Subaru because they had the car we wanted. The sales experience was great. We had issues with items that needed to be added after the sale, such as tint, autostart and the Xilon (clear coat/scotch guard). They were eventually added, but either the order was entered incorrectly by my sales agent, Hadi Farasat, or someone at the dealership dropped the ball. My wife prepared to drop the vehicle off before work, pick it up after work and have all the work done in one day. The dealership was only prepared to install the tint, and nothing else. We received a loaner vehicle, so it was inconvenient, but manageable. Everyone makes mistakes. It was previously discussed that they would mail our license plates and registration once it came in since it is over an hour drive. About 3 weeks after the purchase, those items arrived and I received a call from the receptionist that they were ready. I contacted my sales agent, Hadi Farasat, if these could be mailed to me like previously discussed and he informed me he would take care of it. At this time I also noticed a small cover piece missing from one of my doors - nothing major, just a plastic cover that hides a screw in the door handle. He also informed me he would take care of it. Fast forward to August 6th and I have yet to hear from my sales agent, Hadi Farasat. I contact him about both issues and he says he will take care of them. I ended up calling the receptionist myself to have the plates and tags mailed, which wasn't a huge deal, but again - it's after the sale and once they have their money they don't care. We have taken the car in for service at Gillman Subaru in Schertz and received better service even though they are making no money off of us (we received 24 months free oil changes with car purchase). We love our Subaru - it's an excellent car. But I will never purchase from Austin Subaru nor will I recommend them to anyone. I am emailing my sales agent, Hadi Farasat, today to inquire about the small piece that is missing. I'll update my review with a status once I have one. Edit** Brent, the GM contacted me and informed me that the piece to my door that was promised had been ordered. As soon as the piece was received, Lee contacted me and informed me that the piece would be shipped to me. I received it 2 days later. read more

In my old city, where it seemed to snow non-stop for 4 months (reason 165 that I moved to Austin), it seemed that having a car that could handle the conditions was needed. Subaru's offer AWD in all of their cars, so you can be safe on the road, without having to drive a SUV with 4WD (I recycle and don't drive an SUV.......I know, tree hugger, right?). It almost seemed like there was a Subaru dealer on every street corner, and you knew at least 4 people who drove one. Here in Austin it isn't the same story.... there are only two dealers to service the entire Austin area. The third closest dealer is in San Antonio! So when my sunroof started leaking on my passengers I thought I should have it looked into. I considered keeping it the way it was..... it was kind of like having an injector seat from the movies.... but since I couldn't control it, and my boss didn't seem all too happy about showing up to the meeting looking like he had pissed his pants, I thought I should FINALLY get it fixed. Much like you are probably saying "When is he FINALLY going to get to the review"? Well, Austin Subaru, being the only choice of Subaru dealers (and since no other mechanic would fix a sun roof) was my logical choice. First, I had to make an appointment to get my car fixed, a week after I originally called..... What is this? The doctors office? Second, I took the car in there at my appointment, and they informed me that they would clean out my sun roof gutter (I acted like I totally knew what they were talking about, although I had no idea sunroofs had such things), and they were going to lube up my sunroof track. Ok, so far so good.... then I asked the big question "How Much"? This is always the dreaded question in an auto body shop.... the mechanic replied "$230, but it might not fix it" $230 dollars for what? To lube up my track (that sounds dirty!) and to clean out my gutter (not as dirty, but still.....)? No thanks! If I am giving a place $230 dollars I would at least like them to install a part, or put the car up on that car lifting thingy....... 230 dollars worth of labor? Blow some air down my sunroof track? Wow. But, thanks for telling me exactly what you were going to do! That information will be nice when looking for someone who doesn't charge 230 dollars for labor. Austin Subaru..... rip off on labor, and too busy to service that many Subaru's. They do get some credit for trying to get more Subaru's on the road in Austin. read more

I went to the dealership around 4:30 pm on a weekday and thought I'd get some good customer service. instead they sent a salesman my way who was leaving soon and mentioned that a few times in the course of our conversation. Jason was a proud Outback owner and knew his stuff. Unfortunately when I mentioned I wanted to test drive the car, he passed me off to someone else because it was his time to leave. I had Ralph come over and try to talk to me about an Outback. As we were headed to the lot he asked when I was looking to buy. I was honest and said within the year. His response was, "Then why are you here?" Uh, last time I checked you should test drive a vehicle if you are going to spend over $25K on anything. He went to go get the keys for the car we were about to test drive. While I was waiting for him I noticed the wheels. The hub caps and brakes showed signs of ware from the winter roads of the northern U.S. In small talk, I asked him when he returned if he knew if this car was from up north. He said he didn't know and asked why. I said because you can see the visible ware from the salt they put on the snow/icy roads up north. His response was, "Why do you care? You aren't going to buy it." Really??? I looked on their website and this guy has been selling cars for 2 years, so I know it's not his first day selling cars. If I didn't want to test drive the car so badly, I would of walked off the lot. I test drove the vehicle and waited a few days to write this on Yelp. I was disappointed in their lack of customer service considering their vehicles have such a great reputation. I can handle sarcasm but not from a salesman. read more

It is with a HEAVY HEART that I am writing a poor review for Subaru. Subaru is the car family I grew up with and the car two of my parents still drive. After living in a city for 8 years where I didn't need a car my natural instinct was to choose Subaru when arriving fresh to Austin. My experience at Austin Subaru was severely negative enough that when I was called back a couple of days later by my sales rep I had no interest in even entertaining the idea of committing to Subaru for years to come. I have few brand loyalties--of which Subaru has been one--and unfortunately, my enthusiasm was straightforwardly taken advantage of. I left feeling beaten over and mentally drained. HIGH PRESSURE, the whole of my encounter. I shared with my sales rep what I was looking for and my financial limits. I was not heard. Instead of showing me vehicles advertised on the Austin Subaru website within my price range I was continually pressed to either buy a new car or lease one. Yes, technically, I could have made it work, but at what cost to my quality of life here in Austin and at what cost to my relationship with my vehicle, and ultimately the Subaru company? These guys were all or nothing and for them the sale was about their own bottom line, not what was in the best interest of their customer. The reassurances my sales rep offered me seemed surface at best, as his continued actions did not reflect his words. It was a hollowing and disheartening experience to say the least. It is shocking to me that this is now a part of my Subaru story. Thankfully, later in the week I was able to visit the HOWDY HONDA dealership and had what I can only imagine is one of the most POSITIVE and forward flow car purchasing experiences one could ask for. I was listened to and my bottom-line was RESPECTED. I don't have a Subaru, but I have a safe, reliable car with a hatchback, good gas mileage, and all on budget! I'm grateful, happy, and relieved all has worked out for the best. read more

I shopped here first and ended up buying from Subaru Georgetown because they had a better selection. But nothing wrong with this dealer and I love their new location on Burnet Rd. Today I went to get my car serviced (oil change) and was impressed with the new location. A nice customer waiting area and a coffee bar. A few minor things. When going online to schedule service a chat box popped up and I asked her about my warranty on my car and she told me she only does sales and couldn't help me. Then i called and spoke to a girl who said she schedules service and still wasn't sure if I could service my car there. No one took the extra step to go ask someone. But when I finally got there they were very nice. The parking lot is already full (isn't that always the case) They said they are storing some of their cars at the old location off Huntland. This is the most frustrating place I have ever had to deal with, with any car. I purchased my car new here, its a 2010 Outback, and has had more issues than seemingly possible. And this is the only place I took it for the first 3 years, for everything. Getting your car in there is hard enough, and in an emergency, break down situation, it seems to take even longer. For instance, I had to go back less than a week after getting my car serviced.... on TWO different occasions!!!! Both for very obvious things that were completely overlooked. Once, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but twice? Really? I was once broken down less than a block away, alone, and in need of help and I was basically told, 'tough luck' we cant help you unless the car in on our property. How hard is it to take one of the 100s of cars on your lot a block away to see if there is a simple solution to get the car down the street? I wasn't even offered a number for anyone that could help or one useful piece of advice. And I am just so sad that i have spent so much money at a place that has been nothing but frustrating, on a car i purchased because of its reputation for reliability. Perhaps I got a lemon, but it doesn't excuse the headaches I have suffered on many occasion getting my car routinely serviced here. read more

We bought TWO 2014 Outbacks at the same time close to two years ago. Subaru promises free oil and service for the first three years... The past four times we've had oil changes, I've sat in the waiting room for an average of two hours each visit...Coupled with their crappy service attitude, this is how they finagle themselves out of fulfilling work promised. They do have free wifi - reason for any star at all in this review. Our last appointment, November 6th, we took the Outback in for service and to get ready for a ski trip to Breckenridge, CO. Waited HOURS in the waiting room.. When the vehicle was handed over, we noticed there was no windshield fluid... after some eye rolling by Subaru staff, we got our washer fluid!! Fast forward to the ski trip...Driving through the Colorado mountains.. Oil level light turns on.. We stop at the first available station. NOT A SINGLE DROP OF OIL IN THE CAR!!! The vehicle requires Subaru 0W-20.. Probably another tactic to get out of future car care and service, because that's NOT a standard flavor they offer at gas stations. If there is ANYTHING wrong with the vehicle no matter how big or small - e.g. clipping USB power inverter.... and now i'm assuming the missing oil issue - must be "escalated to headquarters" while you wait in their waiting room for additional hours and hours I can't wait to go back in to work through this issue!!!! Great cars!!! 10/10 - would buy again. Just wish their employees stood by their brand and promise. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change this morning, and received a complimentary car wash. Unfortunately, the car came back with horrible swirl marks. I pointed this out to the service manager (David Cruz), and he immediately offered to detail it for me. He took care of having the swirl marks buffed out and offered me a free loaner to get to work, then delivered my car to me when it was done. It came out *beautiful*. So, a ding for putting the swirl marks on in the first place, but a HUGE thank-you for making it right without even giving me a chance to argue about it! read more

GREAT GREAT GREAT! As a first time new car buyer and avid researcher buying a new car was not a short process for me. Between researching, visiting different dealerships, and finally purchasing my new car, I was in a car buying frenzy for about 3 months and visited AT LEAST 20 dealerships. While some dealerships were better than others I feel really confident with my decision on going with Subaru Austin. When it came down to it my decision was between Subaru Austin and Subaru Georgetown. After negotiating price with both I decided that Subaru Austin was the way to go for me. I was given an extremely fair deal and a deal that I feel very satisfied with! I spoke to John Martinez throughout my multiple visits and he was more helpful than I could even believe. He worked hard to make me a deal I was happy with and even went above and beyond explaining what we had worked out to my family, who was concerned I would be taken advantage of. He made himself readily available for my MANY MANY phone calls and was an absolute delight to work with. I absolutely love my car and am so happy with my decision. UNPROFESSIONAL. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I had a similar experience as the review written by Sheryl O with this John Martinez guy at Austin Subaru. I called the dealership to check if the car I was looking at was still available on the lot; Since I live in Houston, I wanted to be sure the car was there before I travel across cities. My call was assigned to John Martinez. He told me yes the car was still available, BUT someone was taking it out on a test drive at the moment and that he would call me back with what they decide once they get back. Okay, sounds fair enough. Sounded like he was courteous enough, except, I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM THAT DAY. I was ready to to drive to Austin that day. All I was waiting for was for him to call and I would be on the road. He wasted my time. TWO business days later, I receive a generic email from him telling me the car I was interested in has been sold. That tells me they did not care about my business to even try. Later that week, I got a call from a "Greg or a Craig" asking me for feedback about my experience. I could tell it was just a routine survey call that they probably have to do. Oh, I had feedback for him. I told him what happened. And you know what he said? Something along the lines of "Well, when you're looking for a specific car like that, that's bound to happen." No. Excuse you. The problem here is NOT what kind of car I'm looking for, THE PROBLEM HERE IS YOUR SALESMAN FAILED TO CALL ME BACK IN A TIMELY MANNER LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD & WASTED MY TIME. I didn't receive an apology, instead that Greg-Craig jerk was defending this John Martinez guy. I see on Yelp here the owner "hawks" bad reviews. What does that tell you? I just bought an 09 Honda Fit from these guys, and worked with David Reyes there. We were looking for a Honda Fit to replace our 1997 CR-V. As a lady who grew up in Houston, I've had some bad experiences with dbag car salesmen and hate buying cars for this reason. David was respectful, responsive and easy to work with. He also let my 3 year old eat most of the snacks in the waiting area and attempt to grind play-doh into the carpet of his office. We walked out with a fair price on a good car. This review is for Austin Subaru's Service Department. I didn't buy my Subaru at this dealership & it's a pretty beat up 2007 model - but Johnathan Sosa treated me like his most VIP customer from the second I walked into the service department when my car was overheating. Obviously the dealership is the most expensive place that you can go - and I was truly shocked at the cost of the full estimate for everything I needed done - but Johnathan knew I was on a tight budget & really worked with me to make sure I was getting the most bang for my buck & getting the most essential repairs taken care of, applying discounts where he could. He took time out of his day to check in with me over the phone & update me on the status of the repairs, treating me like I was his most important customer & ensuring I had all of my questions answered. I felt really confident having his team run a full diagnostic on my car & ensuring everything was operating at Subaru standards. It will definitely come at a premium cost that might be more than you're expecting, but Austin Subaru & particularly Johnathan Sosa will give you the best service you've ever received at a car dealership service center. read more

Me and my wife just moved to Austin and it was time to get an oil change so we decided to stick with the dealership since that's what we did in Dallas. I pulled into the service bay and waited for 5 minutes and no one came out to greet me so I walked inside and waited another couple of minutes for the guy at the counter to finish a phone call and make another one before assisting me. We had made an appointment for 10:30 and I figured that it shouldnt take up too much of my day, well I was wrong. I just don't understand how an oil change could take 2+ hours. Not to mention my 45 minute drive here, and then 45 minutes back home. Maybe it would't seem too bad if I was just a walk in, but with an appointment I was hoping for a 1 hour wait at most. I guess I'll just have to make sure that I get a rental car for the duration of my wait so I'm not stuck in their waiting room. At least the people I interacted with were very nice. Hopefully they can become more efficient when they move into their new location. read more
