Heard they're all about that customer care, But what I got was a complete nightmare. Waited around for twenty long minutes, Finally got my car, but what a letdown. They swore they checked everything, battery too, But it was dead, not a clue. Some fancy inspection, yeah right, How's my battery dead? What a mess. Parasitic drain or just plain incompetence? In their own service center, it was quite bizarre, I became the mechanic there, no help from afar. For thirty minutes, I worked in vain, So weird, I had to jump-start my own car. Where's the love Austin Subaru? Last night I was stranded, and frankly a bit scared. It had gotten dark, my car wouldn't start and I had no one to call. New vehicles as most of you know don't operate like the old ones. My car could not even be locked if I was inclined to leave it. I have a late model Subaru with a new battery and I keep excellent care of my car. I've never missed maintenance, rotating the tires or keeping it clean. I never buy cheap gas. So I called Subaru to ask if they could recommend a roadside service. The person I spoke to said I just needed to get my vehicle towed and that was the depth of her willingness to help. As it turned out, My 'new' battery was dead that I bought from Austin Subaru was dead. I had stepped away from my car for not more than 10 minutes so I am still perplexed. Austin Subaru, a new Subaru dealership just opened in Buda, and guess what, they wash your car instead of sending you to a dump down the road in the name of being 'green'. What a load. I will be going to Buda from this point forward. Your callousness lost a customer. I'm sure the people that spend an ENTIRE day sitting in your service waiting room won't mind and it's clear that you don't care. I bought my car from you. But I won't be back. Fantastic service department that leads with kindness, transparency, and empathy. I moved to the Austin area from out of state, where my previous dealership's service department were frankly a bunch of condescending bullies, especially to women. Not the case here! Every service staff member I've encountered has been incredibly helpful and straight up NICE. On my most recent visit, they walked me through everything I needed to know and sent me on to the rest of my day as quickly as possible. I want to give a shout out to Austin Subaru for making my car shopping experience a great one, even with COVID-19 precautions shaking things up to how things are normally. I traded in my old Prius and came in to test drive a Forester with my husband and 11 month old baby. We were going to meet Marc Ziehr but ended up talking to Steve Carter since Marc ended up getting pretty busy. Since it was my shopping experience, all the attention was on me and thankfully not my husband. I was treated very well and each person we met at Subaru was so helpful and kind, especially with a baby in tow. My husband watched our little one while I test drive, then we took turns so he could try it out too! Steve was so patient, helped us with my trade in value, when I said the number given was too low when I compared the selling value to Carvana's quote. They called their GM and worked with me and bumped it up a whole $3k from the initial number, we did have to do that dance but I appreciated them working with what I wanted. 0% apr worked in our favor as an incentive, as I was planning to pay the car off in full, but why would you when you can make your money work for you with interest rates in markets going strong? My husband fell in love with their cafe, coffee, topo chicos, Waterloo sparkling water and SNACKS! He was in heaven and can't stop asking for me to take him back in the future for our services at the dealership. We got the first 2 years free similar to our past services with Toyota Care since this is our first Subaru. SO many safety features in my car were shown, the last time I shopped for a car was 7 years ago and my requirements list was: power windows, power locks, Bluetooth and push to start. Now a days, I'm driving a rocketship and the smartest computer ever. We love it, we love Steve and everyone who helped us get through the long day. Although Steve has the title of a car salesmen, he feels authentic, like a friend showing you a car, and the transaction is organic, there is NO pressure to make a decision there and now, and he regaled ya with his music background and travels. So much fun, so hilarious and so many travel pictures to show in his desk. I'm sure our baby was exhausted since we showed up at 10am and didn't leave until 2pm, he held on and skipped nap time but we made it. My husband is now so sad he doesn't have his own Subaru and is highly entertaining the idea of getting his own. We go back on Monday to do our car class, learning all the safety features I can use in this car, since so much had changed, and getting our upgrades installed now that we have a kid, crumbs, fluids and stains are a real concern, so we can't wait to return and see some friendly faces, and make the car buying experience so satisfying and not negative at all. I've bought 3 Subarus here. I've never had any issues and they've usually had incredibly great service. Isaac has been great and even stopped by to say hi while going through this. That said, I'm sitting here an hour into just trying to payoff a lease that is complete. My car is still in the lot and they haven't started the state inspection. If you come in and get Damon, get someone else. This is pathetic. I thought this would be easier than just closing out the lease online with the bank and then do title and inspection myself like I did with a prior lease but I was wrong. This is more work. How??? We worked with Kishion in Sales -- he was great. Easy going, no high pressure. This was an "unusual" transaction. I was shopping remotely for our son, coming back from an overseas Army assignment. Austin Subaru had a pre-owned 4Runner which was exactly what he wanted. We came up from San Antonio after doing considerable online research. Kishion allowed an extended test drive to get a pre-purchase inspection, and they repaired an issue the mechanic found. They were flexible on everything, including price, delivery date, mailing the license plates, you name it. The finance manager did not try to up-sell us either, which was a relief. Brought in my 2018 Crosstrek to replace some console items that were broken and ended up being there for 9 hours! This was my forth dealership (WY, WA, MN) and worse experience ever. Most of the service advisors were friendly and approaching their clients, walking them through what was happening, etc. Mine, Jacob, acted liked he had never been in customer service or was having a bad day. Either way, you went to work, where you knowingly work with people who are primarily paining a lot of money out of pocket to get their personal transportation back online. I texted him twice in the initial 3 hours, with no response I assumed it was going well. He came out after 4 hours and said it would be 4 more because they'd only been running tests on it and hadn't yet begun fixing anything. He walked away... I order delivery. I overheard from another advisors that they had a lyft on request if needed if the wanted to go to a restaurant or run an errand or go home. I continued to wait and text and got two updates with no ETA. It took 9 hours. I will return as options in Austin are limited and I did see the other customers being properly engaged. Review So... I received an e-mail from Honda saying that my lease was up on my 2020 Honda Civic Si Coupe and wouldn't you know it? They would make it sooo easy to get me into another Civic Si lease, just head down to my local Honda dealer and they would be oh so happy to assist me. Well, there I go, down to my local Honda dealership and spoke with someone. "Oh, you're looking for an Si? Yeah, we have a $7,000 markup. And that's IF we get one, because you know, there are no cars anywhere, yada, yada." Well... nice way to lead, threatening your customers... he then laid it on thick, greasy car salesman oozing from every pore on how I should just buy it outright now with him, etc. "OK, thank you," I said, and walked away. I went to a different dealership and called four other dealerships. All of them sang the same tune. As if they were doing me a huge favor by entertaining my query or acting like they were the gatekeepers to the Si. One of them even laughed and said that I had no choice BUT to go through them since I'm unable to sell my vehicle, it's in the contract I signed. Fine. If I'm going to pay $35,000 for a vehicle, might as well be a vehicle that's worth that. A quick internet search for my three requirements for a vehicle (Manual, CarPlay, and not getting f'ed over on the price) brought up the mid trim WRX from Subaru. Well, come Saturday, off I go then, to Austin Subaru. I walk in, see that they had a dog adoption event going on and stopped to play with the puppies (because you're a monster if you don't). I asked to speak with someone about a lease and got Joey LaFave. I spoke with him for a bit, told him my story, my requirements, and that I don't want to haggle. He listened patiently, reassured me that this wasn't what Subaru, this dealership, or himself, were about. Well, we'll see. We looked over a couple of models. That met my requirements and narrowed it down to the WRX that I was originally interested in. It was getting near closing time, but I never felt pushed, hurried, nothing. Everyone was just really helpful. The rest went so smoothly. They took my Si, and got some figures together for it. Worked with Eddie Hummel on the finances, didn't have to haggle, just got a really good quote. I didn't even have to sign the quote, which most car dealerships beg you to do when they give you a quote. Spoke with Mr. Sosa and the final numbers were actually quite lower than the estimate I got. Signing paperwork, and it was time to pay the down-payment. Darn! I didn't bring my card... but no worries! They said I would get an e-mail later on in the evening or on Monday. Paying the down-payment through their system was pretty easy once I got the e-mail. Couldn't have asked for an easier time of it. In a time when the price of cars are absolutely crazy, all the car dealerships smell blood in the water, and all their salespeople are whipped up into a feeding frenzy, it was extremely refreshing to have experienced the awesome treatment at Austin Subaru. I would highly recommend these folks. Oh, and after a few days, I had a few questions about how the vehicle was handling and without hesitation Joey asked me to come in and got me to talk to one of their awesome techs, Jacob , who even went out for a spin with me in my car, AND another one of their vehicles to make sure that the handling was normal. It was a superb experience because there was no hassle, no pressure, and an excellent coffee bar for complimentary drinks. The staff beginning with Misty Martin took care of me. Since initial contact and throughout the search and delivery of my 2020 Crosstrek, she kept me aware of everything. I was a little concerned about my trade-in value provided and felt that it could have been higher. Upon arriving this AM and picking up the new car before we got started I shared my thoughts with Misty and she quickly brought Eddie Hummel into the deal. Mr. Hummel educated me on how vehicles are appraised. After seeing our 2018 Legacy was in tip top shape and had less than 30K miles on it, he was willing to re-appraise it and raised my trade-in significantly. I adore Subaru cars. They're fast, fashionable, and smooth. Subaru at Austin checks off all those too. I came in for an annual inspection. The baristas providing the free coffee were nice, and the drink was about on par with Starbucks. Not bad for a place that doesn't specialize in coffee. The estimated wait was two hours, but I ended up having to wait only one hour. Yet the mechanics still helped me back my car out of the maintenance area. Great when I totally could not back out my car myself without a backup camera. The only complaint I have is that their parking lot doesn't have enough spaces for customers. Also it's difficult to differentiate between the cars Subaru is selling and the parking spots for customers. Beware if you're coming after 9:30 in the morning. It's packed by that time. read more

I will never buy a car form them on principal. Took my daughter's car in with a broken passenger mirror - asked them to look at it and order the parts if it couldn't be fixed. THEY looked at the passenger mirror but then ordered the driver's side mirror. They looked at it and still ordered the wrong part! Once I found out it was the wrong part I took it back - they wouldn't take two of the parts because they were not in the original bag. If Goodwill can create a new tag for an item these clowns can. I had to eat over $100 because THEY made a mistake. They can't look up the part, get the info and make a new tag - like everyone else in the world? Poor service and incompetence. My service advisor, Adam was very straight forward with me about price and services. I pulled in for a major service without an appointment (I thought I was going in for an Express) and it was no problem. Luckily I was pretty early in the day, by the time I was done the waiting room was quite crowded. I also appreciate the ability to text your service advisor about issues or updates while you wait. I brought my one week old 2020 Outback Limited XT back to Austin Subaru to get window tint and aftermarket wheels and tires installed. During the service, my car was damaged. One of the techs left the driver's side door ajar when backing the car off the lift, which snagged on a component of the lift, bending and ripping the top corner of the door. This was only the second time something like this happened in the past five years, but you have to win the reverse lottery sometimes! Austin Subaru's response to this incident was so far above and beyond that I have no words. They replaced my Outback with a brand new, identical Outback, and transferred my wheels and tires for free. This is how you make a customer for life. Good dealerships will admit fault, great dealerships will repair your car... Austin Subaru replaced the new car. Once again, another bad trip to this dealership. I wish I learned my lesson after the first bad trip. Don't bother with an appointment, they don't seem to stick to any schedule. If you have a schedule to keep, don't depend on them to finish your car within any reasonable timeline. I'm sure the work is fine and seems cost competitive with other dealership models, however their professionalism, communication, and time management is embarrassing. Initially quoted a same day turnaround for a common repair turned into a three day fiasco. Each day, they promised a follow up. Each day, they failed to provide any meaningful details. Each day, they pushed out the completion timeline. We didn't even get a complete diagnosis for a full two working days, despite being 'the top priority' for the day. Our entire week's schedule was disrupted due to their poor scheduling. They didn't even have the courtesy to call and provide an update when they missed their commitments from the prior day. read more

Several years of Subaru including the two 2020 Foresters I bought have the faulty windshields that crack for no reason. Subaru will try to sell you the third party extended windshield protection when you buy a new car, but they won't tell you that its because of a known defective design which Subaru has several lawsuits pending over. Subaru is denying fault, but there is a recall coming it looks like. FYI. If this happens to you report it to the gov. Agency for consumer protection. Know that fixing your windshield will cost upwards of $1500 due to the fact that they have to recalibrate the cameras when its replaced. This sucks Subaru and you should take responsibility for this. Recently moved to Austin and needed a place to get my Subaru Outback serviced. Adam was my service advisor and was really communicative while I waited around. The waiting area was crowded with people but had adequate seating for all. The little cafe they have in there made the wait so much more enjoyable. (Also side note, that was the best iced coffee of my life--this alone makes me want to get my car serviced here more often!) Adam texted me when my car was ready for pick up. Only weird thing is that they'll give you a coupon for a complimentary car wash as they check you out. Most dealerships ask in beginning and just wash your car as you service. That is what I've had at Austin Subaru for the past couple years. I came here after several less than decent visits to Georgetown, where I'd purchased my (first) Forester, (and first new car) in 2014. New to the ATX location, I was met by my advisor Abel, who got my AC serviced and fixed while I waited. During that wait, I went on to ask Abel many obnoxious questions as well as his opinion--he was generous in the time he spent and kept me informed about the progress of my car nonstop. I continued to request Abel for visits thereafter and as of today, he is 1 of 3 power players that helped in getting me in to a new 2020 Forester Sport just a little over a week after losing my 2015 suby in a not-at-fault car wreck. Rewind... I was in a wreck September 21... 3 days later, overwhelmed with adjusters, car rental and (thankfully) minor injuries, I emailed Roger at ATX Subaru. He was amazing and assured me they would help. He introduced me to Erick, and from there on out I was taken care of. Erick got me in my 2020 Forester Sport just as the other drivers insurance wouldn't pay for my rental any longer (insurance offered THREE days of rental after a settlement number is created... crazy). In any case, Abel, Erick, and Roger made a completely horrible time in my life something pretty amazing. What I like about this place: - Free cafe while you wait on your car to get serviced (coffee, tea, topo, water, sparkling water, snacks) - Free Wifi available - You get a detailed packet that states the health of your vehicle when you get anything serviced (This is nice because it tells you your tire health, engine health, etc) - Staff is always very kind - A few outdoor seating tables/Rocking chairs What I don't like about this place: - Lonnnggggg wait to get something serviced, I'm not sure If they do appointments but if they do, I recommend you schedule one instead of walking in - Small waiting room - my husband and I had to sit on a bench on the other side of the dealership Overall, I love this place. We have 2 Subarus (one we've had since 2008) so this is not a complaint about the car brand or any of the sales staff. This is specifically a complaint about the way we have been treated by Austin Subaru's service department. I am going to highlight 2 examples: 1. Dropped off the car for an "express" oil change and got a notice that it was ready. I work pretty close to the dealership so I biked over to pick it up. The receptionist would not let me pay and leave, which is all I wanted to do. I mean it was a freaking oil change for crying out lout. But NO, I had to wait and talk to a service rep first before being allowed to leave with my car. Despite following up with the receptionist multiple times, I sat and waited 90 minutes for the service rep to call my name. Meanwhile I saw multiple service reps (including the one who eventually talked to me) helping themselves to fancy coffee drinks from the bar. 2. A few years ago our car started making a pretty loud rattling underneath and after an internet search I found it was probably the heat shield. We asked if they could fix it and were quoted 3 hours of labor and because of that the service rep told us it would be too expensive for us to fix (shouldn't we be the judge of that?). So we should just wait until the catalytic converter fails (not promising!) and they would fix it then. So we didn't fix it and for a couple of years had to live with an annoying and embarrassing sound - it was loud! You could hear it from blocks away. Last week we took it to our new mechanic and he charged us $45 to fix the rattling heat shield. The $45 was for a few missing screws and few minutes of labor to screw them in. So either the Subaru guy didn't look at it or didn't want to fix it or just lied to us about how much time it would take to fix. That was really the last straw for us. Good luck to anyone who takes their car to Austin Subaru. We love our Subarus and Austin Subaru is really good at selling them. But fixing them - not so much. read more

Highly highly recommend this dealership no pressure, no sleaze, just a breeze. Night and day difference from some of the other local dealerships in the area. The whole building is covid conscious, very clean and organized. The receptionist was extremely lovely and helpful I let her know that I have been having horrible experiences with sales people elsewhere and she matched me with Jade. Jade was amazing, super sweet she listened to me, there was not a moment where I felt pressured or uncomfortable I had a great experience. I went with a 2015 Honda Civic and I swear the team was as excited as I was for the upgrade. I also traded in my Corolla I was driving. I would also like to note their cars for sale are very clean and my vehicle had a bunch of stuff done just last month like oil change and new brakes and new tires etc. Jade also connected me with Jeff an insurance broker who found me a crazy great deal on my car insurance! He made the process smooth and honestly the most fun I've ever had buying a car. We were in and out within the day (truly an amazing accomplishment) and have been in love with our vehicle ever since!
