I am one of those people that doesn't like to leave reviews, but this dealership deserves they review it gets. While this is a long review, if you're seriously considering buying a car from this dealership, please read to the end. I purchased a used car (5/25/2026) on the condition that the dealership would address the check engine light, the taillight that was out, and detail the vehicle (the car was sitting in the upstairs showroom, not prepped for sale and filthy). It wasn't ready until 5/29; however, while on its way to be delivered, the check engine light went on again -also, that day, sales guy, Skylar, informed me the lender wanted an additional $599 for down payment. I told Skylar I no longer wanted the vehicle because I realized I'd continue having issues and I wasn't going to pay more down. The owner, Rima, called, assured me I wouldn't have any major issues moving forward and that they'd write off the extra $599. I begrudgingly agreed to take the car against my better judgment, based on his assurances. Within a week, the taillight was out again... took half a week approximately to get Skylar to provide information about having it fixed. They sent me to their "sister" shop, who replaced the bulb. The following day, light was out again. That shop discovered the light assembly was damaged due to water intrusion and had to order a part (estimated three week ETA). On July 2nd, I took the vehicle in to an independent shop for a standard oil change since the dealership told me, after the fact (of the purchase) that they don't usually change oil on used vehicles prior to sale. Would've been great to know that in advance. During the oil change, the threads pulled out with the drain plug which, according to the shop manager, is caused by the last person to change the oil because of either cross threading or over torquing. Now I'm hit with a $752 bill to replace the entire oil pan (aftermarket part... had they used an original part, it would've cost over $1000). This is more than 10% of what I currently own on the vehicle. I made repeated attempts to reach Rima through both text and email on the 2nd. He finally reached out that night, just before 8pm. He asked that I take the car to the dealership to have their people "verify (my) concerns" and he was informed it couldn't be since it's undrivable. He asked what the symptoms were... I told him none because I was simply being proactive by engaging in basic maintenance. His response? "With no symptoms, this may be outside of our parameters to try to assist". I sent three more texts after, all went ignored. Rima, you are the owner. What do you mean it's outside your parameters to "try to assist"? After two unsuccessful attempts to have this situation rectified via email, and no direct response from Rima (as a reminder, he is the OWNER) (and only one text from his shop guy, Dennis, to tell me Rima wouldn't work with me), I filed complaints with both BBB and DCCA. This dealership and, more importantly, the owner, is shady as hell. Check out all the other reviews and come to your own conclusions. I'd strongly suggest looking for any other dealership if you're hoping to have a functional vehicle - keep in mind that I had the vehicle for a total of 1 month and 3 days before it became unusable. I made the mistake of not looking at the reviews prior to walking into this dealership. Don't be like me and save yourself unnecessary stress and headaches. Whether you call first thing when they open or any other time, they give you the same canned "they're not available, but I'll make sure they get back to you". Nope, they won't get back to you as I called five times and had to visit them in person to get a response which is highly unprofessional. Their professionalism is zero and I would not recommend. They claim to be the largest dealer in Hawaii and apparently that equates to treating customers poorly because of high volume I suppose. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience at Auto Source Carousel in Honolulu was so disappointing that I feel others should be aware. From the start, the customer service was completely unprofessional. No room to budge at all on the price of vehicle. The staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed little to no concern for customer satisfaction. Communication was poor, calls weren't returned, questions were brushed off, and any attempt to get clear answers was met with attitude or avoidance. What stood out the most was the lack of accountability. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to make things right, the employees acted as if I was inconveniencing them by expecting basic professionalism. That's simply not acceptable, especially for a business that deals with major purchases like vehicles. The only helpful and compassionate employee who made time to hear me out was Maureen. She deserves a better employer. Paying off your vehicle is supposed to be a happy and positive experience but I left feeling disrespected, frustrated, and with zero confidence in this company. Bought a Toyota Tacoma. The transaction was as expected. There was a negotiation with the mark up, as expected. I paid the higher price, not wanting to haggle. Driving the truck home I realized the front speaker was missing from the dash. This is a $750 item from Toyota. The next morning I contacted Skyler, the sales associate- he said he would look for it.... then nothing. The next day I followed up with again nothing. Twice - A couple years ago I reached out about a car. I said I'd like to do what I can in advance and try financing and get things going before traveling, so I applied and I was told someone would call me back. Never got any calls back, the car sold two weeks later when they could have sold it within one day to me. I got a hard credit inquiry and was never called back. I decided to just keep my car and be on the lookout for something else that may pop up. Second, I finally decided to try again after a couple of years because I never got a new car. The unfortunate part is the one I wanted was at Autosource, I was hoping after a couple years things may have changed. Same thing, was told someone will call me, I made sure this time I had my own financing secured ahead of time. Got a couple of junk emails, couldn't get anyone to talk to me, and a few weeks later the car sold when they could have had the sale in one day. BUYER BEWARE! If I could give them zero stars I would. Noah was polite and professional enough, which is the least he could do considering he sold me a piece of garbage Mini Cooper a year ago. Not two weeks later, the check engine light came on. The issue ended up being a thermostat malfunction, which they begrudgingly fixed. Cool. Thanks. Come to find out months later, they fixed it incorrectly AND the car has myriad wiring issues, intake issues, sprung multiple leaks in the engine, coolant, and turbo - repairs adding up to far more than what the car itself is worth. I swear, they polish up their turds of cars, plug all the leaks with chewing gum and duct tape and pray it holds until you get off the lot and they can't be blamed. I typically write positive reviews, but my recent experience with this dealership was disappointing enough to warrant an exception. Initially, I was impressed. I found a car online, called ahead, and they had the vehicle ready for me to test drive alone. The absence of pushy sales tactics was refreshing, and I was able to negotiate a deal that suited my needs despite being in a bit of a rush. However, the post-sale experience has been nothing short of frustrating. In our purchase agreement, the dealership committed to three things: an oil change, a detailing of the car (which was dirty and had a strong dog odor when I first test-drove it), and a replacement of a broken seatbelt. Unfortunately, none of these promises were fulfilled. I dropped off the car on July 5th and didn't pick it up until August 18th, with no work done. Although I was provided with a loaner vehicle, it came with its own issues--a near-empty gas tank, non-functional AC, and a windshield wiper that was falling apart. Communication with Tim, the point of contact for the repairs, was inconsistent, often leaving my messages unanswered. When I was finally informed that my car was ready, I arranged to pick it up the following Saturday due to my work schedule. After driving all the way from Kailua, I was told upon arrival that no repairs had been made. The manager, Remi, got involved and mentioned that there was confusion and finger-pointing among the staff. He assured me that the car could be fixed within an hour, but I didn't have the time to wait. Instead, I was given another poorly maintained loaner vehicle and told to reschedule the oil change and detailing. I agreed to have my car delivered to me after the repairs were completed, however last minute they stated they didn't have anyone to drop it off. The following morning I arrived to pick up my car but when I finally got it back, it was far from what was promised. The car was not detailed, there was no oil change, and while the seatbelt strap was replaced, it appeared to be a used part from another vehicle. Moreover, the car, which I had left with a full tank of gas, was returned to me nearly empty. Overall, this experience has left me deeply dissatisfied, and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I dont know why so much negative comments about this place. My experience was not that. I walked in knowing exactly which car I wanted and out of all the 400 cars there I picked the one being worked on (thats how I knew that was the one). When I left I was missing a fob, small minor dents (that I didnt mind), and the safety was expired 12/24. The next day the dents were taken out (really great job), the other fob was found, and the safety was done. After reading these comments I did have buyers remorse that first night but sometimes you have to have a litte FAITH and hope that things just work out. But today, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my purchase. The car was CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and for the year it had low miles. Tomorrow when I take it to my mechanic I hope he says everything is good. In October 2024, I purchased a 2018 Chevy Volt from AutoSource Hawaii after being repeatedly assured by Rima and the staff that I would receive the $4,000 federal used EV tax credit. They made it sound like everything would be flawless and guaranteed, and at no point did they mention they were not a qualified IRS dealer -- a requirement for the credit. I later discovered, while filing my taxes in March 2025, that AutoSource was never qualified, making me completely ineligible for the credit. I was deceived, plain and simple. What's worse is that they stopped returning my calls once I brought up the issue. I've since found out that I'm not the only one -- multiple other customers are dealing with the exact same problem. This points to a pattern of dishonest sales practices, especially around EV incentives. If you're thinking of buying from AutoSource Hawaii, do your research. Criminals. COMPLETE CRIMINALS. Sold me a 10k car that they swore was in excellent shape. It was for my 18-yr-old daughter who goes to school on island. She is completely alone there and drove the car for 3 weeks TOTAL before it stopped working. We brought it in to be fixed which was already a battle with the owner and manager. They had it for 2 days and said it was fixed even tho they said the mechanic we took it to was wrong and that it did not need a new alternator. They replaced the battery that did not need replacing and finally fixed some of the issues they said they would fix days after we bought the car. Well the car still won't start as of this morning. My daughter has missed work and classes HER FIRST WEEK BACK , we are paying for Ubers we can not afford and they are blaming HER for it not working even tho she was gone all summer and had a friend go start it and drive it twice a week for a half hour the whole summer NOT that the alternator has anything to do with that anyway! Absolutely the worst experience. If I could give -100 stars I would. First when we purchased the car it was never detailed and there was ash and dirt everywhere. As well there was no safety check and Autosource said it would come in the mail. If you know anything about a safety checks you know that's now how it works. After a month of persistence they finally safety checked it and did it in about 5 minutes. Obviously not a very thorough job, remember this, it will be relevant later. Secondly, after only a week of owning the car the wheel was no longer working and we were unable to steer the car. I called Autosource about this and they told me to bring the car in. After looking at it they told me the car needed about $750 in repairs. They tried to charge me for it!! After complaining multiple times they agreed to pay for the necessary repairs. Then today, the catalyst of this post, after owning the car for about four months I got TWO flat tires on one drive. The first flat tire was scary as the tire literally exploded. After waiting on the side of the highway for 2 hours some nice people stopped by to help me put the spare on. They looked at the tires and couldn't believe that anyone would say that these tires were okay to drive with and that they would pass a safety check. They looked at the rest of the tires and said the other ones looked extremely worn as well and were likely to pop soon. I was half an hour from home and was praying that I would make it back. But alas another tire popped and I was again stopped on the shoulder in the dark, scared for my life that a car wouldn't see me and run into me. At that point I have no more spares and couldn't risk waiting on the shoulder, so I was forced to get it towed. This leads me to my belief that Autosource doesn't care about the their products or the wellbeing of their customers. To let a customer drive an unsafe car out of your dealership is neglectful and morally wrong and they should be ashamed. Now I am forced to pay for not only the towing and tires but the emotional toll this entire experience has taken on me. If you want to get a junk car from a shady dealership who you are forced to pester consistently to get anything done, then Autosource is your place. I got my used 2009 Audi TT only to find out I am now upside down on my loan and when I reached out to upgrade to an SUV they would not help me out. I guess that means I won't be doing business with them again since they kept ghosting me. Also, as I was searching for used cars I realized that Autosource over prices their used cars and are not in the best of condition. When I got the car I thought I was out of washer fluid and asked them to fill it up. It turns out that the windshield wiper pump wasn't working but they still filled up the windshield wiper fluid without letting me know that it didn't work. Test drove an Acura suv, all 4 tires were bald, front end safety sensors, ACC/LKASS, were inoperable. When confronted on obvious issues, (tires were visibly bald, safety sensors showed inoperable in main panel dash console, cosmetic damage to hood from front end collision, all backed up by car fax btw). Salesmen acted as if he had no idea issues existed. Upon speaking with the owner of auto source, Rema, he continued to pretend he had no knowledge of existing safety issues. Kelley blue book value was listed as no safety issues, which Rema continually quoted as fair and equitable. Walked away thankfully, if I had not known that the front end sensors were broken, the repair would have cost me 4-5 k minimum. They would have gladly charged me above advertised sticker price had I not voiced facts. Shame on you for trying to sell a vehicle without safety mandated sensors, honest hard working families deserve better than that. We purchased a beautiful 2017 corvette from this company in August. It was in what appeared to be great condition, with low mileage. We paid in full for the car and insured it on site at their dealership. Within a few days, the console computer stopped working. There were no visuals, so there was no stereo, no navigation, everything was shut down. Then we had problems with the car not starting, the lock system wasn't working, everything went down. We took the car back, they claimed it was fixed, it was not. Nothing was any different, we could not use the car. We took the car back again, and this time they had it for over 2 months, so we assumed it would be fixed. Within in a week, the same problems occurred. They have been blowing us off, so that now this has become a huge problem. Since August, I think this car has been driven for just a few weeks. I called again today. Let's see what happens. Meanwhile, we have a car that we're paying a lot of money to ensure, that we can't drive. And fortunately, we have 2 other vehicles so we have transportation, but, in getting pissed that these cars are getting extra mileage on them that decreases their value. We had problems with buying a car here after the fact that we signed. We also had problems with the car being fixed even under warranty! DO NOT BUY YOUR CARS FROM HERE! HORRIBLE AND IS A SCAM! I had my car go in for fixing and we told them when we were there that the engine turning on was strange. Got the car back weeks later and 2 ish days later the starter was found to be broken! The battery was suddenly dead too! On top off that, we took our car in with over half tank full and it came back with almost no fuel! And they stated because it wasn't stated through text message, they didn't check it?! And also the fact that we bought a used car? That's exactly why we wanted them to check why the engine wasn't turning on properly occasionally! I guess words are nothing unless you record everything in text! They never replied after I pointed that out. I was basically sold a "lemon" and they refused to do anything about it other than charge me for 1/2 of the repairs that were made on the 4th time the car needed servicing for in a span of 4 months. Rima, the owner is aloof, and condescending as he told me "we used to only deal with luxury cars..." He also said it would only take about a week to have everything processed. When it actually came down to it, their estimated ended up being around 2k and I've had no help from them to get the insurance done and it's been three weeks. My insurance gave me only 600 so don't listen to the buying schemes they throw at you. I leave in a week and it looks like I won't be getting the money they promised me, so if you do sell your car only take the sell if they cut you a check for the exact amount agreed upon and no BS using your insurance to get their price down.
