I also got the oxtail plate which was over rice with collard greens and macaroni for the sides. Cornbread came with the collard greens. The catfish was good. My fault for not letting them know to fry it extra hard. That would have made it perfect. The oxtails were plentiful. I got the peach cobbler for dessert because why not? Loved it. Without going into great detail, the sides were disappointing to me personally. That does not mean the next person won't love them. Those plates were full full. Just know that you will not finish in one sitting.

Parking directly in front isn't ideal due to how it's structured. The staff were okay, place looked clean. Now for the food, we got the smothered pork chops, rice, greens and yams. Greens 4/10 ( had a weird taste ), yams 7/10 looked like the canned ones but not other real complaints. The gravy that the pork chops were cooked in was good but the pork chops were very tough. Both of them were tough and one was nothing but bone. Maybe two or three real bites of meat from it. Now my daughter got the oxtail casserole ( that was the best thing out of both of our plates ) the cabbage was pretty good 6/10. Mac and cheese lacked flavor 5/10. I may go back and try the fried food options but that's only if I'm in the area. Will not make a special drive for the food.

Fancy spot! You wouldn't mind if I review it, would you? Eating out in Dallas can get really…read moreexpensive, really quick. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

The food was delicious. They have a lot of great options on the menu, offer late night happy hour on the weekends (!) and are open late. For this visit we tried: - Roasted crab claws - 100/10. We ate every drop the beurre blanc we could scoop up with the bread! - Fried wings - 10/10 - Velour Ceasar + shrimp 9/10. It was over dressed, but the dressing was good and it was a great portion for 1/2 sized. I normally ask for it on the side so that's truly my miss. My friend had the sticky ribs and Tx Cobb salad 1/2 sized). She really enjoyed them but I unfortunately couldn't try since they contained pork. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with making decisions for our meal and drink suggestions for my friend. This gem sits in Victory Park and has both in and outdoor seating options. It's such a vibe when you enter in - decorated well and whether a DJ or a playlist I had friends visiting recently who were looking for a place on a Thursday night and they raved about how great of a recommendation it was They also serve brunch so I can't wait to give it a try.

My husband and I started off by splitting the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket which were good but I wouldn't order again. The deviled eggs, dragon…read moreroll, and pigs in a blanket were all tasty, and that's honestly the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

It's dark, moody, and effortlessly romantic, with a live pianist playing throughout the evening. It's the kind of place that feels intimate without being stuffy, perfect for a date night. The service was honestly some of the best I've had in Dallas. My water never dropped below two sips from full, the team was that attentive. It became amusing (in the best way) how on top of everything they were. Our waiter, Rene, was outstanding. He provided stellar recommendations from starters to entrées, drinks, and desserts. I trusted him enough to let him choose my glass of wine to follow my cocktail, and he nailed it. He also walked us through the menu in detail, which was incredibly helpful as first-time guests. The food absolutely delivered: * Shrimp St. Martins - Five jumbo de-veined shrimp in a rich, butter-like sauce that was decadent without being overwhelming. * Frisée Aux Lardon Salad - Rene thoughtfully split this tableside and served it onto individual plates. The dressing leans heavily Dijon-forward, so order accordingly if you're not a mustard fan. That said, the bacon was some of the best I've ever had: thick, slightly sweet, and perfectly cooked. * Sea Bass Ratatouille - Served over a tomato sauce, it was flavorful, well-balanced, and not too heavy. * Rack of Lamb - An extremely generous portion (which I happily helped my date finish). It was boldly seasoned and on the saltier side, which I personally loved, though I understand that may not be for everyone. * Affogato - A simple but perfect way to close out the meal. Between the romantic atmosphere, top-tier service, and excellent food, this is easily one of the better dining experiences I've had in Dallas.

Apparently it's a Dallas staple restaurant, having been around for more than 44 years, but it is now in a new location as of 2024. There's also a live piano player who plays live music at just the right volume. Tables are covered in white tablecloths with glowing candles. The booths are especially cozy! If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot this is your spot! The service here is on par and the food delicious! This particular night we started with the caviar service, then moved on to the mixed green salad.
