We went for a late breakfast/lunch meal around 1P on a Saturday. Started with drinks and a order of onion rings. They were good. One got lunch, two of us got breakfast. I had the egg platter with hash browns, scrambled eggs, biscuit and Taylor ham (aka pork roll). Everything was cooked as good as I would at home (eggs not over cooked and hash browns were cooked hard like I asked). Coffee was refilled when asked and our server was attentive and friendly. We will be back as we found our local "diner". read more

I refer to this shopping center as a Restaurant Graveyard - few things seem to last here (Anyone remember Yabi? Gandolfo's? WOW FIKA!?); however, Avalon Diner has lasted for quite some time, and for that I'm glad. The employees are very friendly, they are happy to make substitutes, and the food is delicious. The menu isn't a very creative one, but that's okay - they have classic comfort food, and it is very tasty! Eager to go back and try it again! read more

My roommate and I dropped into the Avalon Diner one Sunday morning and we were delighted! They offer the "classics" in breakfast diner food - pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. The food is typical diner goodness and sort of feels like mom was right there in the kitchen cooking away for the family. Took my wheelchair bound mother for breakfast today for our first visit to Avalon Diner. There was Handicap Parking and easy access. This is a fairly new building. Being Mother's Day it was quite crowded. We were greeted by the owner within a minute of arrival. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. Although we had a very small round table, we were comfortable. We received immediate attention once we were seated, got our drinks, ordered and received our beautifully presented food in about 10 minutes. The service and attention to our needs was excellent, courteous, and friendly. My Country Scramble with Sausage Gravy was excellent. Mom agreed that her Challah Bread French Toast was also excellent. We enjoyed our visit very much and will return. Sunday hours are 8:00AM - 2:00PM. read more

Just had a very nice experience at Avalon Diner. We were greeted at the door and immediately sat at a table. The server came over right away with menus and took our drink order. Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We had the eggs benedict and the challah bread french toast. We sat outside so I can't comment on the decor but the service was friendly and when we did have a problem they resolved it quickly and without any further issues. Prices were fair and when looking a the lunch/dinner options we will certainly be back soon. read more

Highly enjoyed my meal. Any place that serves breakfast all day is a plus to me. My feta & tomato omelette was delicious. The portions were terrific for the prices. I'm only sad that I didn't have enough room to try the chocolate pie, heard it's delicious. Staff was friendly, my server kept my coffee cup full. Can't say enough great things about the Avalon Diner. My husband and I visit at least once a week and always enjoy our time dining there. The staff is great, food is amazing, and you can't beat the prices either. Overall the atmosphere is incredible, definitely a northern diner vibe. While it's a rather small restaurant, it provides for great ambiance and an "at home" feel. Some of our favorite dishes include their omletes, waffles, chicken tenders, and patty melts. Oh, and don't forget their homemade desserts! The carrot cake and chocolate cream pie are to die for. Highly recommend for a casual weekday or weekend brunch. Very disappointed with Avolon, they have said the Windermere Prep cross country team is not welcome because regulars complained, well the team are regulars and so are we, we as parents eat there with them weekly. Furthermore my family of four whether it's all four of us or just my wife and I go there an additional once a week and sometimes twice as do other families on the team. What I don't think the diner realizes if our kids are not welcome there then we certainly will not come either. I think the WPS families not going there anymore might make a bigger difference in the long run than they realize. To bad. read more

Loved the food went almost every weekend. Until the one day the owner made my eight-year-old and I stand out in the 100° heat until The one person we were waiting for was present. I asked why in the world we would have to wait outside he said everyone else is waiting outside you can do the same. What makes it worse is they actually had a table but because we were waiting for a third-party thatwasn't there yet he made us wait outside but then we left. Have no intentions of ever returning only because of the owner and his disgusting attitude and service. read more

It's my first time at this place. The food is very good here. I had the special of the day country fried chicken platter with mash and string beans. I was surprised that the string bean was fresh and not the canned kind. The fried chicken was just right, not too salty; just enough batter. 2 thumbs up. read more

Overpriced for small portions, breakfast you can prepare better at home. Menu is limited. I ordered the egg bread blueberry french toast with 2 strips of bacon. What I got was 2 pieces of egg bread toasted with few fresh blueberries tossed over the top, Mrs. Butterworth maple syrup. Price: $8.00! Over priced & small portions! We sat in a booth, the booth's cushioned seat was broken & easily slided. Waitress had speech problem, I had to ask her to repeat what she was saying. Your toast, bread, comes pre-buttered so it is "soggy" when it is placed on table. I'd rather butter my toast myself. My french toast was "soggy." They serve only fresh eggs, no "eggsbeaters." This is OK if you can eat fresh eggs. Waitress was "rude," she removed family member's plates & I hadn't finished my meal yet. It may seem efficient for a waitress to remove empty plates from the table, even if one person hasn't finished their meal, but its ploy to make slow eater hurry up so table can be available to next patrons waiting for available table? I'm saving my $ & going to Crackerbarrel Restaurant in Winter Garden where I get a better value in a full breakfast for my money. Crackerbarrel serves "Eggsbeaters." read more
