Highest praise. Resisted this place for a while (possibly because one of our favorite restaurants is right across the street) but once we'd given in, we were hooked. Wow on all meals we've had here since: Salads superb, soups excellent, and each entree (swordfish, halibut, steak, salmon) were as beautifully presented and delicious as a meal can be. Service fine. As fans of Gracie's, Chez Pascal, New Rivers, etc., Avenue N is a fantastic addition to our little neighborhood. Can't wait to try their burgers and pizza. read more

Have had so much love for Avenue N since their early Rumford days, and was beyond excited to find out they would be starting a new location in the Cook and Brown space. Decided to support them on their opening night on the East Side by ordering some takeout. The interior was clean, and inviting. The online menu looked amazing, and very vegetarian friendly! Drink list was well crafted and can't wait to try! The takeout menu was understandably shortened, as well as their hours, due to Covid. We ordered a pizza, Brussels sprouts, calamari, a side of fries, and a Mac and cheese special. Everything was AMAZING. Portion sizes were generous, pizza was grilled and wildly flavorful. The Brussels were my favorite, and a hard item to nail for takeout without just becoming oily, but Avenue N delivers once again! Honesty can't wait for the full restaurant experience, and impressed with the owners ability to dive into this new restaurant at such a crazy time and really deliver on the quality they've become known for! read more

We're so thrilled to have Avenue N in the neighborhood. We walked there for dinner last night - had the corn soup, empenadas, and burger for our meals followed by the flourless chocolate cake with a couple of glasses of champagne. All were delicious...Our server was knowledgeable, appropriately attentive, and extremely kind. The owner, Nick, spoke with us for a while and gave the backstory for starting the business. Overall it was an 11/10. We have been for dinner twice in the last two weeks and will be back again soon! read more

Made a reservation on a few hours notice this past Saturday, for outdoor seating for a party of six at 7:30pm. Keep in mind that with the COVID-19 situation, we haven't eaten inside at any restaurant since early 2020, and even feel uncomfortable with most outdoor dining. Well, all I can say is that the entire experience, food, service, and company, was spectacular. The staff took three tables for two, placed us farthest away from all other outdoor tables (at least 12 feet), and we were promptly seated. The wait staff was knowledgeable, couldn't have been nicer. We placed orders for three appetizers, two flatbread pizzas, and three main courses (one to be shared per couple). We mentioned that one of us had a shellfish allergy--two minutes later, the owner came out and lamented that all three appetizers were to be fried in the same oil as the oysters, so she offered to switch the Brussels sprouts to sautéed, and we added a Caesar salad to be split. All of the main courses, even the hamburger(!), were neatly split into two portions. When it was mentioned that we were feeling a bit chilled, they brought over a porch heater, service with a smile. And the waitress recalled the off-handed comment that we were belatedly getting together to celebrate my birthday, without other prompting, she brought out a complimentary yummy slice of their flourless chocolate cake, complete with candle and song. All I can say is that the entire evening was magical, a reminder of how life used to be prior to the pandemic. Truly unbelievable to make us "COVID-fearers" feel as comfortable as humanly possible, and with 5* service. Keep up the great work! We will most certainly return! read more

Just excellent!! Generous portions, good service, nice atmosphere, a bit noisy (but hey! it's popular). I ordered the fried cauliflower, cobb salad, margarita pizza, and tiramisu. All excellent. Cobb salad might be my favorite because it had a great buttermilk dressing and yummy candied pistachios (large portion too!). The food came quickly as well--even during a busy Friday night. Had an amazing experience here. The cocktails were stellar. Our server was great. Food was superb. Had the calzones snd the cauliflower for apps which were both excellent, and had the filet for dinner. I'm used to paying $45-55 for a filet so the price (I think $26) was a shocker, and it was perfect. Will definitely come back. This place has everything right. read more

Everything on their menu is phenomenal! Service is excellent as well. Never any complaints when it comes to dinning in or take out. They do an fantastic job all around. One of our favorite restaurants for sure. The only thing is that we miss the Buffalo eggplant pizza! You will never be disappointed with Avenue. read more

Very nice spot! It is clean and airy and the staff and patrons were all pleasant. We were dining with friends visiting from the PNW and we all agreed that this was a solid dinner choice. We ordered: calamari for an appetizer (delicious but perhaps slightly small for a party of four to split) and then had the salmon (delicious and the couscous was fun), short ribs (delicious), burger (cooked exactly to specifications and delicious - maybe a bit too many fries), and the special of the night paella (good on its own but didn't hold a candle to the paella at Los Andes). Our waiter was very good, striking the right balance between attentive and respectful of our need as a group to connect. Overall, a very solid choice for a night out in PVD! read more

Sigh. Wanted to love it. Wanted to love it so bad I went 3 times before writing a review. The vibe is great and the 3 stars are for the cocktails. The food needs work. One trip the pizza was soggy and the Brussels were so saucy you couldn't recognize them. All 3 times the cauliflower was amazing so I recommend that. The last time we went everything came out cold. The onion soup was cold and coagulated. The enchiladas were cold like so cold I just took them to go and put them in my oven when I got home. Feedback for the kitchen: don't let your food sit in the window for so long and give someone cold food after waiting 40 minutes. read more

Went here recently for dinner and after seeing so many photos online of their pizza and other foods I couldn't wait to try it. To start I had a bowl of the roasted sweet corn soup, it was so delicious! Also, we had an order of the zucchini cakes. Cant say I was a huge fan of them. Something about the pickled cabbage on top just did not seemed to go. The real bummer of the night for me was the pizza. I had such high hopes after the amazing photos of it that I saw online. The sauce and cheese was so overwhelming and heavy on the dough it made it Extremely soggy. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting as far as taste and texture go. We did not try any of their actual entrees but they did have some great options. Would go back to try some others menu items. read more

The food isn't terrible but it's not great either. The soup was delicious but the crispy spicy cauliflower was neither crispy or spicy.so as far as food goes I give it a meh. We've been wanting to try the amazing looking chicken sandwiches we see every Monday on Instagram. Last night we finally ordered them to go. We got the special chicken sandwich with barbecue and had ordered the spicy chicken sandwich as well as a margherita pizza. They accidentally sent us two barbecue sandwiches instead of one of each but that's ok because it was amazing! The batter was crispy, flavorful and delicious. I loved the sauce and the pickles were tasty. The fries were hand cut and perfectly fried and seasoned. The margherita pizza was for my kids but I tried it and it was quite possibly the best margherita pizza I've ever had. Grilling it gave it the best texture and almost smoky flavor and the sauce was phenomenal. I can't wait to go and eat in person. read more
