I will be a forever fan of the Asada sandwich from this place. No matter the location it has been consistent every time. So, I don't know if you are a fan of Ay Papa Que Rico, but its been around for some time now. The interesting thing is this chain is growing and spreading like wildfire! In my local area I had access to three locations. Counting this one (newest location) I got 4 now. Not gonna lie, all locations in this area have some pretty bad parking or inconvenient direction to getting to the parking lot. For this visit I did order the Asada sandwich and it was great. The place is pretty tiny compared to the other locations in the East San Fernando Valley. I have to talk about the parking situation. It might be just me but entering the parking lot is a little inconvenient depending on the direction you are coming from. This location has a unique property line were it is on both Webb and Lankershim. Coming southbound on Webb does not allow you to reach the parking lot as there is an island, but southbound on Lankershim is safe. This place is a bust for me .... I've been to the one on Sunland with the older Tio that's always up front. I always had a pleasant experience so I was closer to this location today and decided to give it a try but keep in mind I wasn't sure if the were owned by the same person but upon looking the menu it was almost identical so I didn't hesitate. I order a Ribeye because the chicken comes quartered vs by piece and as I said I've ate at sunland and that was very tasty so I went with that and I must say I was given Carne Asada, it was not a ribeye or even close. I also got 2 empanadas 1 beef and 1 cheese and Jalapeño. It was super old and hard. The beef I took a bite and spit it out as for the Jalapeño Cheese it was absolutely uneatable . The cheese was brown on the inside and both were super oily. Also one of my salsa's had some type of hair in it. Lastly I ordered a Cubano which was decent and editable it just tasted more like a warmed up ham sandwich with Swiss which how can it be bad right ? It just wasn't a Cuban the bread was soft and not toasted so it didn't give what it was supposed to either way I suggest sticking with the Sunland Location and I will suggest that if they're owned by the same family or person that they get Tio over there and get this location right ! Came today excited to eat at this place and I ordered a meal of 1 whole chicken for 21.99 and half Chicken dinner a la carte for 11.99. Which includes 2 sides total cost 44.42 with service fee instead of 42.92 because i used my card. While I was waiting because I was told it was gonna take 25 min to get my food. I notice a special that included 2 whole chickens and 4 sides and a free 2 liter coke for 49.99. While a about 3 to 4 min of ordering my food. I ask the clerk if I could just pay the difference and get that order. She says to me I already entered the order and I cant change it. I said I would just pay the difference and it would only be 4 additional piece and 2 more sides added to my order. She again hesitated to try to figure it out. She called I'm assuming a manger or owner and asked if possible and they denied doing it. I then asked ok just refund my order and charge me for the special, she then again says I can't refund anything only managers can do that. I then asked her so what happens when someone wants a refund, she then says you have to come back tomorrow when the manger is here. I said I work all day and wouldn't be able to come until around 7 or so she then said well then you would have to come back another day. That's ridiculous what business would tell you come back tomorrow for a refund because we dont care. I was willing to pay more and they wouldn't accommodate that. Not good service. This location is unlike the others because I saw they have a huge menu (didn't have a chance to snap a pic). They serve burritos, quesadillas, pupusas, Cuban sandwiches and I believe I even saw Peruvian food. They have dessert as well. This place is great for both groups and couples. We proceeded to order and got the 1 whole chicken combo which came with 2 sides and tortillas. Pricing was reasonable the only down fall is that they charge you to use your credit card which wasn't mentioned or noted. Chicken was great pieces seemed smaller than normal.
