We had guests from out of town and everyone wanted Korean BBQ, but we didn't want to drive into Korea town. Found this spot on Yelp, it had good reviews, and wasn't too far of a drive. They have plenty of parking and the wait wasn't too long. About 30 minutes for our party or 7. They have pinball machines in the lobby, so that helped kill time. Once seated, the menu is on a QR code and the waitress, Nohely, immediately came to take our order. We decided on the AYCE (all you can eat) option. We chose a few meats to start with, as well as some fried rice, salad, and noodles. We asked for the small side dishes that come with the meal, like rice paper, potato salad, etc. We were told they were out, but then watched other waiters bring the side dishes to other tables. Our waitress came back to our table a few times to ask if we were going to order anything else, but seemed annoyed when we did order more. She also charged us full price for our 3 young kids instead of the kids price. Overall, the food was good with lots of choices, but we weren't impressed with the service. The service we had recently was top notch. I'm sorry we didn't get our hostess name. This is also the first time I had soju with my pork belly. I've been coming here for years and this place is consistently good. Fair quality for the price you pay and you don't have to drive to K-Town from the Valley, so that's another plus. I like the (regular or spicy) kalbi, bulgogi (regular or spicy) and brisket (brisket sauce is essential). Besides an order of garlic shrimp, I don't really venture far out from that because I've decided I like these best on the menu. I usually love chicken but a couple years back I tried the chicken and it wasn't for me, although maybe things have changed. Their radish paper is nice and sweet, how I like it. Just tried their kimchi rice last night, it had a hint of spice and is now my favorite fried rice there, although all them are decent. I just saw that they have cheese corn which I will be back to try! The service is average. They are nice and do their jobs but don't expect smiles or anything extra. Be patient with your food, it always takes a little while but everything comes out pretty fresh so it's worth it. As for ambiance, it's kinda plain, dim lighting, everyone from families with children to groups of friends are around. It's kind of loud sometimes but that's just KBBQ in general. My husband and I drove from Santa Clarita to try out this place since it was recommended by one of his employees. There were only a few Asian customers, a few Caucasian customers, and the majority were Latino customers. All the servers (waiters, waitresses) were Latinos. We're not racist at all, far from it. I'm bringing up the ethnic backgrounds because based on our experience tonight, it played a huge role where service was concerned. I noticed the Latino couple seated on my right side were served promptly and whatever they requested, it was brought to them on a timely manner. My husband and I asked for refills for our banchais (fish cake, potato salad, and pasta salad). 10 minutes had passed and our banchai requests were not brought out. When the waiter came around asking if there was anything else we needed, I asked him what happened to the three banchais we requested, it had been more than 10 minutes. He replied, "Oh! Let me check!" 5 minutes later someone brought out the pasta salad and the potato salad, but not the fish cake strips. When the waiter came around and asked if we got everything we wanted, I told him we didn't get the fish cake strips. He then said "we ran out". It would've been nice if he told us. I noticed later on customers who were just being seated were being served the banchais which included the fish cake strips! I was told they had ran out. I called the waiter again and asked if they had prepared some more fish cake strips since I just saw it being served to other people, he still insisted they ran out. We asked for kimchi fried rice, it was awful. Too salty and spicy. We've eaten at quite a few Korean restaurants in Koreatown and kimchi fried rice doesn't even taste like that! We then asked for shrimp fried rice from the waitress who apparently took over. 15 minutes went by and nothing. She asked us after 15 minutes if there was anything else we needed. I was obviously irritated at this point and asked her what happened to our shrimp fried rice and that it had been more than 15 minutes since we asked for it. She replied, "Oh! Let me check!" About 10 minutes later someone brought it out and it was salty! We waited over 20 minutes for salty fried rice! Lastly, same waitress came out and asked us if we wanted anything else. My husband asked for garlic shrimps and calamari. They only brought out the shrimps, not the calamaries. We thought maybe the calamari was going to take awhile since that has been our experience with the fish cake strips and the fried rice. When we were done eating the shrimps, the waitress came out and asked if we wanted anything else, we did not even bother asking what happened to the calamari we asked for. We were so done with the very shabby service we got! We noticed everyone else around us, all Latinos were getting prompt and accurate service while we received the worse service. Again, I'm not attacking anyone, but this was our observation and experience. We will never go back. Better service and better Korean AYCE in Koreatown. I rather pay $50/person in Koreatown's AYCE because we will consistently get fresh, great quality, tasty, and non-salty food, prompt service for every request, and great customer service. It's true, you get what you pay for. We normally make the drive to Koreatown for the best AYCE, but we only tried this restaurant based on a recommendation. We tried it, service and food were awful, never again. At least we left a very generous 15% tip. read more

Wanted to order take out. I tried calling something like 20 times, but kept getting voicemail and told that the mailbox was full. I drove all the way out there and the restaurant had three full tables, nothing else. I stood at the front counter for nearly 15 minutes before someone finally came up to take my order. I asked for extra rice (I know the main dishes come with it) and some other food and went to wait in my car. She told me someone would call me and it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. Forty minutes later, no call, and traffic is picking up. I decided to go in and--lo and behold--there's my food on the counter. Some guy is on the phone there, and shushes me when I try to say I'm here for that food. I finally give up and just grab my food. He barely even notices. Then I get home and I only have one rice--AND I pull a long, gross, light brown hair out of the middle of it. Not happy. The only plus is that the pajeon and pork rib are delicious. My only issues are they close a bit earlier than I would hope and the place has oppressively bright lights. The dinner price seemed to have gone up by a dollar from the last menu posted on yelp. It's a great spot for ayce kbbq. Its definitely worth the money if you like variety. I dont think the kbbq here in OC has that many options for meats and house specialty. I wished I could have eaten more so I could try everything! What I appreciate about this place compared to other kbbq is that they give you a good amount of meats. It's a good amount to try in case you dont like it. The house specailty comes in big portion for a group to share. The kalbi, kimchi fried rice and ramen were my favorite! I could have that all day. Overall: Would eat here again but the value doesn't seem worth it to me. Meat quality was okay, service was okay but servers forgot an ordered plate every single time we requested more meat. Waited over an hour on a busy Saturday night. Was concerned that the text notification might've been sent to the wrong number, so I checked in with the front staff twice - they were really nice. Throughout our meal, the servers were fairly attentive and nice, but out of the 4 limited plates of meat you can order at once, they forgot a plate every single time (we requested for more meat 3 times). This was annoying. They also forgot to give us our requested side sauces (I get it, these are small additional requests and sometimes fall through the cracks), but it was frustrating getting it towards the end of our meal. The price was a little more than other places I've been too, but there were more side/entree options so that balanced it out! Yum!!!! This is the only all you can eat kbbq place for miles but it doesn't disappoint! It's not fancy so come dressed casual in some stretchy clothes and be ready to eat!!! Pro tip: sign up on the wait list with Yelp before arriving to save some time I've visited AYCE Gogi 3 times now and have never had a wait on a week night but on a Saturday evening waited about 75 minutes (including the 20 minutes saved on yelp waitlist). They have a waiting area with some seating, a tv, and pin ball games to keep you entertained. Once they call you in, they have your table ready with menus and banchan. Order 4 meats at a time and other yummy sides like soft tofu soup, rice, garlic and jalapeños, steamed egg, etc. I love their selection as it has my favorites! Beef tongue, pork belly, and brisket as well as the favorites of others I take with me like the baby octopus. Service is always great here although they are so busy you may need to flag them down.
