I'm really just a brisket eater and their brisket kinda sucks. However, I really like the atmosphere, there are a lot of meat options I haven't seen before, and it was cool you could get fried rice. Bulgogi usually isn't my thing but I'll say that here, it isn't overly marinated and was very tender and good. They have cool options like Mesquite Pork Shoulder, Fried rice, and tons of soups/noodle bowls. Kimchi is by request only and not a standard ban chan item on your table when you arrive. When I got it though, I didnt like it, and I love Kimchi. Theirs is too tangy or something. As for Ban chan again, you only get 4-5 different ones as a standard. They change your grills very often and the service is tip top. The frozen yogurt can be asked for and it comes only in plain tart. Not sure why people say it's like crack, I didn't think it was that good. Maybe because I love Menchies? It was just okay. They itemize what you ordered on your receipt so that is the first time I ever realized just how much meat we ate LOL 33 plates of meat for the 8 of us. I felt gross. Been coming here for years and they've renovated it even bigger. Love their menu and the sides that you can order with. I always get the kimchi fried rice, the Korean miso soup, and radish paper. They've had more variety in the past but I'm not complaining since compared to other kbbq spots they won't offer the kimchi fried rice. Also my favorite part is the complimentary froyo at the end! The Food was delicious I loved it!! The front desk girl was friendly and welcoming!! Our server was not so approachable, she never smiled she was so serious and she turned off our table without asking if we were done! She brought our check and ice cream without us asking for it. We had to ask another server to turn it back on because we wanted another round of meat, we had to ask for the other round to that other server! Idk if the name that comes out in the bill was our server but if it is her name was Nohely! I do want to go back, because of the food hoping to get better service. Giving it a second chance. I'm a huge fan of Korean bbq and this was my first time at AYCE Gogi. Besides the long wait and the slow service, I really liked it! The food was great! I put my name down and they said it would be 40-50 minutes which is so long but we decided to wait. It wasn't until after that I realized I could have added myself to the waiting list on yelp which would have been really helpful but good to know for next time!! Pro tip: add yourself to the yelp waiting list before you come We ended up waiting 40 minutes but it was worth it. Those 40 minutes gave me time to decide what meats I wanted to try!! Once we sat down it took our server a bit to make her way over to us (hence the slow service). Here's all the meats we ordered in order from what I liked best to least. Beef brisket, bulgogi, hanger steak, and garlic steak. We got a few orders of each and I was stuffed!! Too much food. The beef brisket and the bulgogi had so much flavor and were my favorites!! I ordered the spicy ramen soup which I thought tasted like a spicy cup of noodles which I love so I was happy!! Took me back to my college days. My boyfriend got the spicy miso tofu soup and loved it as well! The sides they give you in the beginning are amazing! The bean sprouts and the potato salad are my favorites! Price is fairly higher than some restaurants in K-town. Would recommend due to easy location and convenience but if you're looking for the authentic experience I would look in k-town. The meat is pretty good and the staff is mostly nice with plenty of sides to eat but overall it's hit or miss here. They have pinball machines in the entrance which was surprising and the place seems old. Grills are small and cause a lot of smoke but cooks food well. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking and not too attractive on the outside or inside. Can't take leftovers home either. Lunch was $26 a person so this place gets busy! Yummy KBBQ! We came here on a Sunday at 12 and it wasn't packed yet, so we were able to get a table within 5 minutes. I really like the menu because aside from the BBQ meats, other specialty items like Kimchi Fried Rice, Steamed Egg, and Spicy Tofu Soup are included. I especially like the sauces they provide. Only disappointment was that they didn't have rice paper....which is my fave way to eat KBBQ. The service is pretty good, and they even give you a little froyo treat at the end. Ample parking in the lot right outside. Will be coming back as it's closer than K-Town if we need a quick fix! read more

However, the two items that take this from a four star to a three star are: 1) they ran out of rice paper and 2) their large tables did not have enough grills. It's bit difficult for a table of 12 to get away with using two grills. The grills aren't even centrally located so people have to continually pass food from one end to the other. Not great. We ventured off into Van Nuys to try AYCE Gogi and Pinball. There are pinball machines upon entrance and a room full of self serve grills in the next room. I came in apprehensive because of the low price per person, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. My favorites were the Galbi (short rib) , Chadol (beef brisket) , Japchae (glass noodles) and hot stone bimbimbap. They had so many options on the all you can eat menu it almost made me dizzy. It's $26.95 before 3 pm and $33.95 after 3pm. Kids under 40" eat free. The staff hustled around in the heat to bring all of your items promptly and with a smile. I also met Yovanni the manager that provided us exceptional service. My daughter had a blast, my wife was pleasantly surprised, and I was an overall satisfied customer. read more

3 Stars Because this place really came through with the customer service. This is a Americanized KBBQ not Traditional !! Big difference in type of service and choices for Bonchan. Non traditional Korean restaurants also have different recipes for the Galbi and bulgogi. Food quailty was a solid 8/10 They had a very large selection on meats and sides so I was very pleased with the menu. ITS KBBQ so you guys know the deal. It's a hit or miss with quality and this place is a hit. They don't buss unless you ask & we often had to flag someone down to order so that was really annoying. The 3 Stars is Because we had a friend at our table that had an egg allergy and we requested for a rice with no egg. Somehow my friend got sick eating the rice anyway and her mouth got all fuzzy. We didn't see any defined pieces of egg so the only thought that we had was, maybe they cooked it on a same surface that eggs were previously cooked on. I don't know how she got sick but had to take her medicine and stop eating. She didn't need to use her epipan So we were OK but it was a set back in our night. The manager took The cost off of our bill and we were very appreciative of that. I had to give the 3 stars so that they are made aware that allergies are nothing to play with. All in all If you are under the age of 30 I would definitely recommend coming to this place and having a great time. But for my older people I'm not so sure if this fast pace environment is conducive to our spirit. I need an attentive waiter or waitress And good quality food wherever I go. I came here today for lunch with my group of friends. I checked in with the hostess first and she said they can sit us when our whole party is there. They kept the table open for us until everyone arrived then we were seated, this was due to everyone having the same amount of time to eat. We took advantage of the all you can eat option. We started off ordering the bulgogi beef, top sirloin, tongue, black pepper beef and short ribs. They take 5 orders of meat per round and we also got to pick the house specialty as well so we chose the spicy garlic noodles and kikchi fried rice. We never tried the kikchi fried rice but it was very good, I would highly recommend that dish just to try it. Our favorite meat was the tongue, chadol beef aka brisket and kalbi aka short ribs. After ordering 3 rounds of steak, we were full for a group of 5 guys. The service was exceptional, they kept checking in on us by taking away plates or refilling our drinks. They also changed out our grilled frequently so it helped with not being smokey and easier to cook the meat. This All You Can Eat (AYCE) Korean Barbecue restaurant is located on the SouthEast corner of Van Nuys Blvd & Sherman Way in the city of Van Nuys. Free self-parking is available in the shopping lot. We used the Yelp Waitlist which worked out pretty well and we ended up waiting only about 10 minutes once we got there. You can select a variety of meats (1 meat per person per round) and unlimited sides. The appetizers and drinks are not included in the AYCE price and must be ordered and paid for separately. Your stay at the table is limited to 2 hours. They serve beer, wine, sake, soju, and soft drinks, but no spirits. Prices are on par with similar places. Service was ok. Our server was polite and helpful, but somewhat hurried and not very attentive. They were out of a few things (such as Rice Paper) but to their defense it was a Sunday night. It appears that their beef and pork dishes are better than their seafood. We ordered the garlic shrimp and the baby octopus. The shrimp were small and dry and lacked flavor, and the octopus was downright nasty! It was tough and chewy and smelly, and got me sick overnight. My family shared all the other meats with me so I know it was the octopus. The Kalbi, the Spicy Bulgogi, the Spicy Pork, the Beef Tongue, and the Garlic Beef were pretty good. Their spicy marinade is tasty and has just the right amount of heat. The Kimchi Fried Rice and the Steamed Eggs were delicious. Their grill grate tends to stick when you first start cooking (they don't grease it) but the meat juices take care of the greasing pretty quickly. The grill does cook pretty evenly which is nice. Some other places I've been to have temperamental grilles! All and all, this place is OK for a San Fernando Valley KBBQ if you can't get to K-Town. I will consider going back but will be more careful and selective about what meats to order, and will definitely stay away from their seafood! read more
