We only came in for a quick second to grab a coffee and could not help but get a couple giant chicharrones! We walked into this tight little store that had everything you could think of! The isles were pretty small, but again, they have so much in product. It's mostly food from what I can see. Since my trip was so quick, all I can say is the smell of chicharrones filled that little store and I couldn't help myself. I got (only) two, one for my man and one for me! These were the best chicharrones we have ever had. I wish they made them this good anywhere near my hometown. My handsome man didn't realize he was going to like it so much! There's some food that are expired and I told one of the workers to check the food cabinets but they looked at me very angry and upset and the meat department guy looks at the customers with an angry face and it doesn't look welcoming at all. There's a lot of weird people looking at me thinking that I'm a homeless person. I asked for help to the workers and asked them for honey because I had a bad cold and they seem to not understand what I was asking for. I will never come back at this store anymore! This unsuspecting little corner market packs quite a bit of surprises! They have pre packaged bags of pan dulce at front window. Incredibly impressed by the flavor, softness and freshness! I found unique spices and cubes of bouillon for Columbian, Argentinian, Puerto Rican cooking. Very specific flavors not at the average supermarket. They had a pretty good variety of fruits and vegetables too like plantains for Salvadoran cooking as well. Its well worth the drive. I came in for the fresh tortillas. They were sold out, so I bought some thicker ones. I love the butcher shop. Everything looked great. I got two Tamales one chicken one pork. The pork was my favorite. I hear they have Carnitas cooking here on the weekend, I will return. Everyone here was super sweet and helpful. This is a lovely neighborhood market. It has many Latin items just a stone's throw from my house. Its small and won't have everything you want but might have a few choice items you need for a particular dish. I loved the selection of dried chilis. The Flank Steak in the butcher's counter looked really good. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I have been coming to this place since I was a child. The owners beforehand would really take care of their business. Now fast forward to 2020, this business is not as great as it use to be. I would come mine here to purchase chicharon, fresh meat and many more items. I called in to make an order for bread the morning before. Something I have always done before hand. The lady explained that it would be ready the next day. I arrive today to pick up my bolillos and the two cashiers are looking at each other as if I am the problem. The women starts talking to me as if I am ignorant and explains the process. The owner was there as well and he did NOTHING about the situation. I hope that ALL staff here can get properly trained. They definitely lost my business overall. Now that Azteca Market in Harbor Center is closed, this is my go to place for thick corn tortillas. It's a full service Hispanic Market; I even saw that they had fresh rocoto chiles once. My Peruvian friends went nuts. Parking is a pain. On the weekends, they have carnitas cooking in the far back next to the meat display case. You can either help yourself, or someone can help you. I like the taste of their carnitas the best of the various places in San Rafael I can get them. I also like being able to select the pieces that I want. They also have pretty good tamales; the pork ones sell the fastest. They take credit cards. read more

At the end of the transaction, the cashier and another woman behind the counter didn't say. "thank you", I had to tell them "Thank you", twice because they didn't hear me the first time. Great place to get all the things needed for authentic Mexican or Central American dishes. They have all the required cuts of meats, all the things needed for side dishes, all kinds of tortillas and tostadas, jamaica & tamarind for your aguas frescas. If you don't speak any Spanish, have no fear, all the staff are always friendly and the butchers are always willing to help. My husband drops of his dry cleaning close by and we passes in front of Azteca last weekend and what do I see screaming at me in the window? Pan Dulce! I told him I was going on the flooring weekend. I'm so glad I did. Grabbed the pan dulce, tortillas and chicken tamales! This is one happy girl. I walked around like a kid in a candy store, went back to my roots and spoke only Spanish which was wonderful. Going back next week to search a little more. This place was great. Awesome selection of Latin food. But more than that, it was the outstanding service. My wife bought a can of soda but it was a bit dirty, we asked for a napkin. Not only did the cashier give her a napkin but he went and found a straw for her. It's something that is not in his job description but he went over and beyond. One day after grabbing some lunch at Sol Food, I decided to check out this small little market around the corner. I'm not gonna lie. What drew me in was the pan dulce! Its so inexpensive and fresh that you can't get a better deal elsewhere. I haven't browsed the entire store yet but will do this next time I'm in the area. For $0.83 I got two pan dulces which ain't bad! The staff is very friendly too. Every store I ever knew is completely gone. this market is located in the far back where you had to find the diamond in the rough. They had exactly what I was looking for and the meat counter is a definite must. Fast and friendly service, too, and a lot of specialty items. read more

Service is really bad! Cashiers do not attend people well. They talk while attending people and do not give 100% focus on costumers. The people there seem to not want to work there, makes costumer feel like they are not worth the workers time. I love this place!! I'm not Hispanic, but the owners and counter help here are always very helpful and friendly. They have a wide assortment of Mexican food, produce, drinks, spices and a great meat selection. It's fun to go inside with all of the pinatas hanging from the ceiling.
