On of the best home style cooking restaurants you can have in the area. You can't beat the unlimited sides and starters. The green beans are delicious and rich with bacon flavor, while the corn is subtitle with cream and heavy with flavor. The fried chicken is cooked to a perfect crisp while leaving the meat nice and juicy. There are not many things you can find wrong with this place. The only thing I have found odd is how dark the lighting is. It feels like you are sitting at some hole in the wall Italian restaurant with candle light being the main source of brightness. We tried a few other entrees. The smoked chicken was delicious. The catfish was very good. The chicken fried steak wasn't very good. I only ate a few bites and switched to the chicken. A big problem was that my daughter in-law took a bite of her biscuit and pulled a hair out of her mouth. Then my grandson found a long hair in his water glass. We were in the small room that is set up to be the fowl father's boardroom... it has a door so it kept on the noise that was around us, and I was with several people who had hearing issues and so it was perfect. Our waitress name was My (pronounced me)... she was awesome trying to keep up with that large group. She did it really easily and skillfully. Of course the meal was served family style so everything was on the table, and we passed it around being good friends. This was perfect. Our dining out speaking organization booked the John Gault room for our group of 20 attendees. Anabell & Claire, our assigned servers took care of us with military precision. They got all the drink and food orders taken and made sure they hadn't skipped anyone, even the late arrivals. We loved the tables in the private room. They had lazy-Susan's built in. This was thie first time I've been to this Babe's, and the last one I went to was many years ago - so I had forgotten a lot. First of all, it was packed full of people at 5 pm on Sunday - and there were a LOT of large parties (greater than 6 people.) I noted that they required all members of a party to be present before seating. Thankfully, my party was just 2 people, so we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was lively and boisterous, and the music gets turned WAY up at 6 PM. Due to the industrial nature of the building, sound carries, so it's pretty loud in general. There is no menu - they carry 5 items plus sides, and they are served family style, all you can eat of the sides. I got the Chicken Fried Steak, which was tender, tasty, and delicious. Sides included cream gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, and biscuits, and they were all yummy as well. My favorites were the biscuits and the corn The service was fast, but courteous.
