I didn't realize there was still a Joe's Crab Shack still around till I saw this one.Never really was a joes fan.I always liked red lobster better. But I was hungry for some seafood and thought I would give them another shot.I went in and was seated as I looked at the menu and looked at their prices I had sticker shock.I know it's seafood but damn!So I ended up going with the shrimp sample.Which consisted of bacon wrapped shrimp filled with seafood stuffing and cheese along with jalapeno.Second one was shrimp scampi.last was grilled shrimp topped with lemon butter.Along with green beans and jasmine rice.I hate to say it but I was really disappointed.The shrimp really lacked flavor.And I didn't really taste any jalapeno on the bacon wrapped shrimp.The shrimp scampi was ok but doesn't have the flavor that red lobsters do.And the one with lemon butter was just there.I thought the green beans were pretty good and actually some seasoning on it.Now the rice just ok.It also lacked flavor.I spent a total of 30 bucks including tip that I didn't think was worth.I guess there was a reason I really never cared for joes.This will probably be the last time I eat here. read more

Came here with my hubby for date night and we both ordered the king crab seafood boil. The crab was delicious, the potatoes and corn were cooked perfectly. We sat by the bar so service was friendly and fast. The crab was so flavorful and you get a generous amount for the price. I would keep coming back. read more

The atmosphere was great- we sat on the patio for the kids play area. The weather was perfect and had a quiet evening. The food was Delicious and everyone loved their dinner. The waitress was what we believe busy, because she would leave and not return for awhile. We had to ask for refills several times and it took her quite some time to come back. We were greeted at the door with genuine smiles. Our waiter was awesome and the manager even came over to welcome us and say hello. My husband and I shared the Crab stuffed mushrooms and the Crab Daddy Feast. Everything tasted fresh and was absolutely delicious. My husband had a beer and I a Diet Coke and Vodka, and they were not shy with the Vodka. The restaurant had the nautical feel and the music was thumpin'.. it wasn't just me, but I noticed other patrons dancing in their seats too. I visited this Joe's Crab Shack location this past weekend and left very disappointed. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly host who asked whether we preferred a booth or a table. We requested a booth but were seated directly next to the server station, which was not an ideal placement. Our server greeted us (DAVIS) promptly and was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. We arrived at 8:00 p.m., aware that the restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m., and placed our drink and food orders immediately. While waiting for our meal, I overheard a server openly discussing how the kitchen staff was ready to go home -- this was around 8:15 p.m. I found this comment inappropriate to make within earshot of customers. Additionally, another server was completing closing duties nearby and was loudly slamming cups and glassware next to our table, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Our food arrived at approximately 8:25 p.m. Unfortunately, the only enjoyable item was the cheesy bread. We ordered the Cajun snow crab boil and the king crab. Both dishes were severely lacking in flavor. The king crab was ordered to be spicy but had no heat whatsoever. The snow crab was the worst I've ever had -- the meat was sparse, and what little there was shredded and fell apart when attempting to crack the shells. Although our server kindly asked if we wanted dessert, I was ready to pay and leave, as it was clear we were no longer welcome given the atmosphere and overall experience. We ultimately went to Black Bear Diner down the street for dessert, where we enjoyed a delicious slice of chocolate pie. Based on the quality of the food we received, I couldn't imagine dessert at Joe's Crab Shack being any better. If you're looking for good crab at a fair price, I recommend Crawlin' Crab in Fort Worth off Hulen. This Joe's Crab Shack location is overpriced for the quality of food and overall experience provided. read more

Extremely poor service, was sat down and asked to be moved to another table due to lack of view of the tv. They proceeded to tell me i couldn't be moved. Okay thats fine, we came to eat for fathers day. We sat back down and waited for 15 minutes before I asked another worker if she could get a server for us and she proceeded to never send over a worker. We ended up leaving without being seen. The quality of this restaurant hasn't been updated in 25 years. Tables sticky, and full of dishes over all restaurants doesn't look very clean but for lack of crab places we gave them a try. If you are looking for perfect Crab, custom Crab Buckets, Ice Cold Beer and food perfectly prepared to order - you found the place! I have been visiting since 2007 and it just continues to improve! I have been to several other crab / seafood houses, keep returning to Joe's where it is simply the best and you feel like family in an outstanding wharf environment. Some crab places started preparing "wet" crab in bags then dumping them out. Joe's started offering this as well. My personal preference is to get the crab steamed only then have butter, different spices and sauces on the side for dipping. Joe's will do whatever you like, truly cook to order for different styles. Crab is fresh, as is the other seafood. They offer awesome peel and eat shrimp, clams and fish. Their beer is truly ice cold in frosted mugs, and their specialty mixed drinks are the best I have discovered. Been to other places and have been disappointed for one reason or the other, but not here! I can't imagine a better crab house anywhere! Perfectly prepared and cooked to order! FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!! We came here tonight for my kids birthday party. She's quite shy but we still wanted to have the goofy birthday experience that we had growing up (coming to Joe's Crab shack for birthday celebrations has become a tradition in our family). Well, they sure did it! Our server, Jose, was amazing, friendly, checked on us often, made sure we had what we needed, and answered all our questions with a smile. He made us feel super welcome and well taken care of. I wish we could have tipped him more. Then a whole bunch of crew members came out to do the birthday celebration with our kid, who was thoroughly entertained & embarrassed, as we had wanted, haha. And the food was stellar, which has always been the case in the past when we came here so I expected nothing less. Overall this was a fantastic pending to an important birthday and left our whole family feeling wonderful. 10/10, highly recommend, and thank you so much to Jose and the amazing crew of this Joe's Crab Shack! Sidenote: Every time we go here we always get the Great Balls of Fire, the painted crab dessert and the "Shark Nibble" drink, all of which are 100% worth getting every time. If I could give negative stars I would. I visited this location this evening with my child and my sister. We were seated by a very nice young man, a little while after being seated the manager CHRIS came from the back with the same young man completely berating him in front of everyone. Chris was cursing this young man out and was the MOST unprofessional and inappropriate display of leadership I've ever seen. As someone who runs a business with multiple locations this is not who I would want representing my business. If there are issues with staff you pull them and speak to them privately never with an audience ESPECIALLY customers. A manager should guide by teaching and example and what I witnessed tonight was NOT leadership in any sense of the word. Absolutely despicable. I also would like to add we did ask the young man for the managers name and he refused to tell us for fear of getting in more trouble, so we asked him ourself when he was walking table to table. read more

Even the manager stopped by our table for a chit chat. We took both off. He brought us some avocado lime dressing. And it set it off. Ordered extra crab dip on the side just in case the chips didn't have enough crab on them. So, we got the sampler appetizer which had chips, dip fire ball, calamari which was ok except the dip. The fried shrimps were good but the buttered shrimp was not tasteful and cold. We decided to try the special Royal Boil. Wished we hadn't. It came in a bag cold. The waiter took the bag and mixeded the sauce in the bag by hand and then plated the content. Very Very cold. Was not boiled with sauced cause the seafood barely had the sauce flavour beyond the outer parts. Half the clam shells were empty. So far it's been great. Redd the bartender is fun, informative, attentive... This one is a tough call because sometimes we came here and we come here often. Sometimes it's great we have no problems and other times we order something and it's over cooked. I understand that can happen sometimes but not once has it been taking off my check or re-cooked to our liking. We've literally not eaten food left all of it on the plate because it was just that bad... Like the lobster claw in the picture. We won't order shrimp in a boil or basically anything other than crab legs... they seem to always be good. I always like crab cakes, but these were bad, need to rename them as "Bread Crumb Cakes" mostly bread crumbs, I was so hungry I ate more that 50%. Server came to check on me, "how is everything?" told her I won't be ordering this again, too much bread. The best part of the meal was asparagus'. Bread crumbs are used as a binder, not to make a cake and have crab here and there. I was so disappointed. $27 is worth it if cakes are good, I did not get good value for my money.
