The staff, seems to remember their regulars (as we found out our relatives were) and they're super accommodating to allergies and food sensitivities. Stopped into Bacchus for a celebratory anniversary dinner and we had a great night. We started off with a couple of drinks, handily made by the talented bartender. Then we got out amuse bouche - a delectable mini goat cheese tart bite. It was honestly my favorite part of the meal and I could eat like 10 more. We wanted to do the five course tasting menu but the items were prix fixe, and I cannot eat beef so we opted for the three course with an a la carte app. We tried the scallops, bolognese, pulled mozzarella, pork tenderloin, Salmon, and blueberry pavlova. Everything was delicious. The scallops were amazing and the pasta was a healthy portion. I personally wouldn't do the pavlova again as it was a bit too sugary for me, but it was still delicious. We finished off with some cappuccino and petit fours (yum!). All in all a delightful evening. We did read some reviews that mentioned a free dessert for celebrations, we didn't receive that (maybe it was a pre Covid thing) but we were greeted with a wonderful card. And tbh we certainly didn't need another dessert anyways. read more

I was in Milwaukee for a business trip and a cocktail and seated dinner event was held in the solarium. What a beautiful setting for an event. The servers were very skilled and polite, our pre-selected meals (I had grilled Salmon) were cooked perfectly. The restaurant was very careful about food allergies and a team member sought me out at the beginning of the meal to confirm my diary allergy, inquire about other special requirements and assure me that he was aware of the allergy and had communicate that to the chef. He checked in with me on a couple of occasions to make sure I was doing well. My dessert was three small sorbet balls instead of other options with dairy. I will be back. I would give the food and presentation a 10 out of five stars it's that good. But because of Covid they no longer have a menu. You choose a 4 Course or 5 course meal. Each course is a small dollop of food on your plate, once again presented excellent and tasting excellent. When the main course came out it was once again a small ( very small) spot of food on the plate. We had chosen the wine pairing to go along with each course , and once again the pairings were excellent. The evening for 2 was $420 and we stopped at a local tavern on the way home to get something to eat. We are a slim and trim couple so if your thinking big people big appetites your way off base. If you are going to charge this much for a meal people shouldn't leave hungry. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. read more

Went for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband and we had their 3 course meal. The missing stars were for (1) the steak tartare, it was pasty and the beef was too finely ground. You cannot taste the meat at all, or the capers, it was just a salty paste. If they didn't call it steak tartare I wouldn't have known what I was eating. Disappointing because steak tartare is one of my fave dishes. (2) grilled octopus 1st course dish. My husband ordered the foie gras and I had the octopus for the first course, my dish was very disappointing. More chorizo than octopus. I think the octopus should be the center piece of the dish. The spices from the chorizo overpowered the octopus. To make matters worse they topped the dish off with an overly charred piece of bread that by gross inspection, looks like charcoal. The foie gras was as buttery as you'd expect. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked. And the desserts were amazing. We will go back to try their regular menu and would like to experience outdoor seating in the warmer months. The ambience is perfect for a romantic/intimate dining. I'm hoping that the regular menu would be better. The service was great and I hate that I have to give it 3stars. read more

Went to Bacchus for my anniversary dinner and it didn't disappoint. The tasting menu was great. Started out with an amuse bouche of panna cota with a beet salad on top. Least favorite bite of the night but everything went up from there. First course was perfectly seared scallops and fresh pulled mozzarella. Second was corn risotto and wagyu beef. The risotto was unlike any I had before (in a good way). The wagyu was ordered medium rare but looked pretty rare to this vegetarians eyes. My husband said it was agreeable and didn't mention anything to the staff. Dessert was phenomenal. Homemade ice cream (caramel cashew and cherry) and pavlova with blueberries. Not sure what the little bite at the end is called but passion fruit marshmallows are a thing and amazing. I went home stuffed like I was at an all you can eat buffet. We were presented with a signed Happy Anniversary card and a another delicious dessert. The manager came out and spoke with us and everyone was very kind. We took my mom here for her 60th birthday and we're blown away by the impeccable service! The food was good too but we felt very taken care of. I had the she crab and the Spanish octopus and both were delightful. My mom tried the lamb ravioli even though she doesn't like meat she doesn't know (lol) and she was blown away by the flavor and now even says she likes lamb! Fantastic experience. We were in Milwaukee for a few days and kinda winged our dining spots. We walked in here without reservations on a Thursday and sat at the bar. We settled on the five-course menu with wine pairings (see pics attached) and were duly impressed all around. The woman behind the bar provided amazing service. Initially she was swamped by a corporate dinner going on there, but things settled down. She said that she worked closely with the sommelier there and it showed in her wine knowledge. Food and pairings were amazing. Decadent and worth it. The ambiance was lovely - high ceilings and lots of light. A very solid four (probably more four and a half) stars. The service was excellent, we both did a three course tasting menu. To start the amuse bouche was delicious, as were the appetizers (octopus and beets. Octopus was far tastier). I enjoyed my fillet medallion, the only miss was the dessert. I'm a huge huge chocolate fan, and the chocolate pot de crème was so bland. It could use a much stronger chocolate flavor. However I also tasted the Mille feiulle, which was much better. I definitely will come back, and hope I can give it the five stars it could deserve if the flavors were just slightly better! read more

Got the chance to dine here during a recent business trip. As a bit of a closet foodie I was very happy when I saw the itinerary included dinner here, having been on the show "No Reservations", so this was a special meal for me. We came here with a rather large group of roughly 30 people or so, and pretty much took over the "Conservatory". I made a stop at the bar near the entrance and grabbed a cold one. The bartender there was very fun, engaging and entertaining. Everything you look for in a bartender. Back with the group we enjoyed the beautiful setting looking out over the park. Our menu choices were limited due to our large group size, and I chose to go with the fairly standard Chicken offering, served with Honey-Glazed Carrots. The food was fine, I was happy with it. But at the end of the day it's still chicken and that's not terribly exciting. So why did I choose it? Well, I'm from the Pacific-NW so that ruled out the fish option because I get plenty of that back home and our other option was vegetarian risotto. I'm not against risotto, I really like a good risotto. But to me, risotto isn't a main dish, especially if you tell me it has no protein in it. You vegetarians can flame me later, it's just how I roll. The dessert buffet was great, so there's that too. I will say, while the Conservatory space was very beautiful and held our large group quite easily, it was also VERY loud. We had a small 2-piece musical act to entertain us, and between the music and the general loudness of the conversation echoing off of the space, it was quite often difficult to hear someone across our own table. So if you are reading this review and have a corporate event in mind, keep in mind that this is a very loud space and cramming 30 people in here only makes it louder. Beautiful? Yes. Loud? Beautiful room, great food, fantastic wine list; what more could you want? As you might expect from the name, the highlight here is wine. There are hundreds of offerings, and most of the markups are below typical restaurant pricing. We had a wonderful bottle of 2007 Nicholas Potel Chambolle-Musigny that was exactly the kind of earthy, complex Burgundy we were looking for. The ratatouille appetizer (which I apparently had during its last day on the summer menu) was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the tuna tartare was refreshing, although I thought it could have been a bit more flavorful. Crispy shrimp was indeed very crispy, and was served with a tasty blend of sauces that combined sweet with a bit of spice. The halibut entree was perfectly cooked, and served atop deliciously rich fennel. We finished with a 5-cheese assortment, and found several artisan cheeses that we loved. This place is an excellent restaurant to try for a unique or special ocassion meal. The service was great and consistent, especially for a sophisicated tasting menu. The tasting menu I tried consisted of five dishes that were delicious and very solid. It started with an amuse bouche of caviar with creme fraiche and a thin crisp pancake. Perfect little bite to start the meal. The first dish was a grilled Spanish octopus. I liked the way it was plated with everything composed and compact. This allowed for each flavor of the dish to shine and be harmonious with each other. The octopus has an excellent spicy flavor and it was perfectly grilled with a mild smoky flavor. Definitely would try again in the future. Next was a chilled lobster salad which was honestly one of the most balanced and flavorful salads I've had. The dressing was a cured peppercorn buttermilk dressing which was tangy and the flavor is super complex for a dressing. The ingredients included avocado, grapefruit, perfectly cooked lobster, and crispy prosciutto all worked together exceptionally. The third course was a perfecly seared scallop with oxtail jus, charred brussels sprouts, polenta, and pickled shallots. It was very good, however I would have liked a little less brussels sprouts and more pickled shallots. It is a very interesting bite of food that'll surprise you. The main entree for the tasting menu was a grilled venison, braised kale, spiced sweet potatoes, cranberries, and a natural jus. The cook on the venison was great however I think there could have been more seasoning and more wow to the dish. I felt like it was lacking in complexity and it just tasted very similar to other preparations of venison that I've had. It was still executed well, but the flavor just didn't wow me like the previous 3 courses. The tasting menu ended with a salted caramel mousse with whipped chocolate ganache and a graham cracker crumble. It was presented very nicely and it was a nice light and refreshing finish to the meal. It wasn't too sweet and the balance was excellent. The server also brought out some little one-bite treats. One was a homemade marshmallow, then a chocolate coconut caramel, and a chocolate covered ball of peppermint. My favorite was the caramel. It was like if you just had the caramel coconut topping from a Samoa cookie, and it was delicious. I would come back here for sure; it was worth the drive to come here and I highly recommend it for an elegant and flavorful meal. read more

First, I will get this out of my system that this is part of a local "micro" chain of restaurants but I must admit I was still very impressed. Service at any Bartolotta Restaurant is always impeccable. Your water glass is constantly full and your cutlery is always clean. Leaving the table they fold your napkin waiting for your return. It is attentive; however, they don't smother you and let you dine. We opted for the six course tasting dinner and it was perfect! First we thought it would be items that weren't on the menu but all were mini versions of the full items. Since there were so many great things to taste we got the best of the both worlds. Here is a recap of what we had: Amuse Bouche - Crispy shrimp with soba noodles Beet salad with goat cheese curds and champagne vinaigrette Foie gras with mini quail egg over french toast brioche with pork belly & maple syrup (so cute) Signature dish of scallop over polenta with mushroom frisée salad and black truffle vinaigrette Veal Ravioli with spinach, toasted pine nuts, beurre fondue Venison loin with black truffle risotto brussel sprout leaves, red wine sauce Palette cleanser Dessert of Pana Cotta - devil's food cake, cocoa nib tuile, tarragon sorbet The venison and the scallop were probably my favorite items. All were delicious but these stood out above the rest. Our friend said the veal ravioli was her favorite. For drinks I tried their bourbon barrel aged gin in a martini. OMG...I think I bought the second martini just for the blue cheese stuffed olives that they hand stuff there. The bourbon barrel with the gin calms down the "piney" flavor and really amps up the drink. Because Bacchus has been around for some time, I think people tend to overlook it. I rank their six course tasting menu up with some of the better restaurants in Milwaukee. Wow. How can such an expensive and complex restaurant like this continue to remain in business? One only wonders if it is some kind of test out of the hunger games if you will survive rude, even hostile service, bad cold food, the bright, unflattering lights or, best yet are willing to pay over $200 per person while enduring really load piped in soft rock music that You can't talk over even to the waiter to order. Like a scene out of a Cohen Brother movie, but not even funny in a sarcastic way. One wonders if this restaurant is kept open as some secret joke to see who will pass the test by simply saying: A very bad restaurant in every sense of the word for a very very high price. You will need therapy after the ptsd experience and wonder how, in the Bacccus chain, what internal family fight leads to this restaurant continuing to have the gall to open its door for business by the openly hostile hosts, while every other restaurant in the Bartolatta chain is infinitely better than this. In fact, every restaurant in the McDo ales chain of restaurants is a better experience. read more

What a disappointment! We went here for their NYE meal at $150 a person it was NOT worth it. Let's start with the service. Supposedly they were working in "teams' for NYE. This meant random servers would walk by your table to help. This may make sense to the owners but this causes confusion for the customers!! I would tell one server one thing they would forget and another would come by so I would tell them the same thing then 20 min later they would both deliver on the request? Made no sense and was detrimental to the service. Servers were nice but unorganized and hardly professional. We were asked "are you done working here"? like I was a the Golden Corral slamming down my meal or something. FOOD: Really? Pre-set menus typically do not impress but this missed by a mile. Poor presentation, hardly exciting flavors and it was delivered like fast food. Clumsy and with lack of passion and care. My steak lacked flavor and the broccolini that was my side was ICE cold. I had the server touch it to proved how nasty it was! Then they said they would bring a new one. Literally 30 min later a sad new serving of broccolini was brought out that tasted like they rubbed it on the meat grill for a few min then brought it out. I was embarrassed that I brought my date here! I mean I looked like an idiot for paying 400 bucks for this meal. NO IDEA how this place gets such high ratings but they literally fell on their face for NYE. We asked the server if they were doing anything for NYE she said. "I do not know" lol. Oh but for our trouble they gave us $15 off our 400 dollar meal.. so gracious. Anyway I will not be back ever. read more

They currently have a three course meal option, as well as a vegetarian menu which I ordered from. We started off with cocktails, which were all delicious. The atmosphere in Bacchus is fun, so I would recommend sitting and having a drink first. I started with the Crispy Marinated Tofu, which even my meat-loving fiancé loved! Its was light but flavorful. For my main course, I had the Ricotta Ravioli. I would eat this ravioli every meal if I could; it was so flavorful and the asparagus was a refreshing touch. What an amazing experience! I had the pleasure of dining here before a concert a few months ago. Everything, from the walk in greeting, cocktails, food, and meal service -- all of it was on point. This is not a drop in kinda place for dining. This is a sit, and enjoy the experience kinda of reservation. Well, I guess you could drop in, but why?!?!? The dining room is gorgeous and well lite and just an airy spot you want to sit and drink in. The food was beyond what I was expecting. It was simplicity but complex in thought. Gorgeous plating and just executed so well. The wine menu will blow your mind. It has so much to offer. My husband, son, his girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed in Bacchus. We all have dined many times with Bartolotta restaurants so we anticipated a great evening. This was our first time though at Bacchus. When we walked in it was super bright. Which was odd. After we were seated and our waiter came over I asked about the lighting. He thought they might not have dimmed the lights yet. A few minutes later the manager came over and I asked him about the lights. He actually said the Owners of Bartolotta restaurants wouldn't let him turn them down. And then tells us...a lot of their patrons are passing away and they want to get more young people to dine with them so they want to keep it bright!! So ridiculous. I wasn't asking him to turn the lights off, just to dim them. It really ruined our night. I will say, the food was very good however, for us, food is only part of the equation. .There was just zero atmosphere and it felt so sterile. With our dinners and 3 drinks our bill was over $400.00. At one point I said to my friends, "let's pretend that this is something we do everyday. I'm not sure how else I can pull this off." Im not used to such sophisticated, wonderful service by the attentive staff! Bacchus is elegantly appointed inside the Cudahy Towers, a historic premium condo building where Prospect and Wells meets Lake Michigan. The lustrous wood-paneled walls, and classic Art Deco interior with marble and granite finishes, hearkens to a resplendent era known for luxury and extravagance. We gathered at the bar and met delightful mixologists. I had a special challenge for Jared - I wanted him to make me a savory cocktail sans alcohol. I don't drink, and usually have great fun challenging folks to make me something pretty and sweet. The surroundings called for something special. Jared delivered a beautiful drink made of grapefruit juice, pimento syrup, sour mix, a signature grilled lemon twist, and a hint of a sweet sparkling non alcoholic wine that brought out the pucker. Shaken, not stirred, it was incredible. I had two through the evening. In a celebratory mood, we selected the chef's tasting menu. I believe it was the manager who mentioned it to us. He visited our table at least 3 times and was kind enough to graciously point out the ladies room before I could ask. The menu was a sampling of 5 courses that left us comfortably full and allowed us to try a variety of dishes on the menu. Through a two and a half hour dining experience we enjoyed: --a complimentary starter of delicious pumpkin soup gsrnished with toasted pumpkin seeds beautifully presented in a shooter glass: --crispy shrimp with a celeriac slaw; --oxtail ragu with chanterelle mushrooms on house-made tagliatelle pasta; --seared bluefin tuna with avocado mousse and a jasmine rice cake with grilled baby bok choy and a sweet soy glaze; --an intermezzo of scratch-made apple sorbet; --a Strauss Veal and sweet bread duo with spinach, mushroom about and caramelized onions; and --dessert of pumpkin cheesecake, spiced French macaroons, toasted homemade marshmallow and gingersnap crumble. The food was fantastic. I can only say wonderful things about it. My favorite part of the evening, however, was the impeccable service. It was truly thoughtful and considerate - a level I've never previously experienced. My dad has a saying, "Entertain in the manner you're accustomed to - your guests will follow suit." I practiced that principle here, allowing the staff at Bacchus to exemplify all that a celebrated chef's tasting could be, returning their kindness with gratitude for an incredible evening. read more

Bacchus is a quintessential Milwaukee restaurant run by an exceptional restaurant group, Bartolotta. With a view of Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee Art Museum, there aren't many better locations for a restaurant. Situated in the Cudahy Tower, you feel like the old Milwaukee elite upon arrival. The bar and wine list are well-curated. Their seasonal cocktail menu features inventive twists on the classics, as well as their own inventions. They also have a long spirits list if you prefer something else. The wine list is voluminous but definitely contains some affordable offerings. The menu is seasonal, so I won't comment much on specifics. I will say the food was impeccably prepared. A house-made pasta appetizer was executed as well as could be. I don't know how they got ravioli to be that thin, yet remain intact. The only thing better than the food was the service. Bacchus sets a nice tone that is refined, but not stuffy. Their staff was friendly and eager to answer questions. My wife and I were here celebrating our "one month" wedding anniversary. Bacchus made us feel special, and I can guarantee we'll be celebrating many more anniversaries here in the future. read more

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Drinks were perfectly made. The dry aged steak was one of the most amazing steaks I've had in a while. It was cooked perfectly to order, basically melted in my mouth, and was incredibly flavorful. I found myself getting full but wanting to keep eating because it was just that good. There was one moment where we were highly recommended the brussels sprouts but it turned out the kitchen had run out. This was obviously disappointing. However, Bacchus had the manager come over to tell us personally because the server knew how much we were looking forward to them, and then helped comp a round of drinks. This was my first time back with Baccus since its refresh. It was very open, clean and bright inside. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated. We started with a cocktail. I had a tiki style drink, which was okay, as we looked over the menu. The menu included a 3 course tasting menu, with options for each course, a 6 course set tasting menu or you can order everything a la carte. We opted to go a la cart and create our own tasting. We ordered a few appetizers to share. The foie gras was perfectly cooked and loaded with fall flavors. The charred spanish octopus with hummus was also cooked well and had a very nice spice to it. The steak tartare was only okay. The runny egg yolk that normally gets mixed in was changed to a soy pickled quail egg. Although tasty by itself, it changed the consistency and taste of the tartare. We asked for a recommendation for a bottle of wine from the som. He gave us a variety of great options and the wine we chose was excellent and went well with everything we ordered. My wife and I shared two entrees. The duck was well cooked, but fairly typical with butternut squash puree and cranberries. The togarashi rub on the wagyu steak was excellent and the shishito peppers added great flavor without much heat. Unlike the duck, however, there were significant portions of the steak that was like chewing gum. Overall, the service was top notch and the meal was nice, but not exactly what you expect when you come to Baccus. read more

WOW! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. I've been meaning to try Bacchus for the past 4 years but have always been hesitant because of the $$$$ The hubby treated me to Bacchus for my birthday and what an experience it was. We tried 3 small plates - the tuna tartar, the foie gras, and the pork belly spinach salad. Of the three, my favorite was probably the tuna tartar -- very fresh fish and very refreshing -- my husband and I found ourselves greedily scraping every last bit off the plate. The foie gras was definitely presented as a "breakfast of champions" - very playful plating and scrumptiously rich. For entrees, I had the lamp chops and my husband had the lobster. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, cannot rave more about either dish - please see my photos of them both. For dessert, we ordered their version of churros - OH MY GOD - it was so airy, sweet, and delightful - I was beyond full by that point but could not resist eating more. Let's just put it all on the table, Bacchus is probably the best restaurant in Milwaukee. This place could hold its own in any major city, Chicago, NYC, LA, etc. The space and decor fit & finish is top notch. The service is excellent and the food is expertly prepared from main dishes, to sides, to deserts. I went there for dinner and was amazed. Great wine list, too. I had the sirloin and was quite impressed. I also went to a private party (cocktail hour & hors d'oeuvres, 3 course dinner, etc.) in one of the back dining rooms and Bacchus did an excellent job taking care of us. Yes, this place is expensive for Milwaukee, its expensive for just about anywhere. However, the food, the service and total dining experience is top shelf. You get what you pay for, so stop whining. read more

Absolutely LOVED everything about Bacchus! From start to finish, the food, the decor, the people. All of it was fantastic! I started off with the curried squash soup, which had a great mix of fall and winter flavors in it. Pear, pomegranate, curry, squash, pecans. I had the braised short ribs as my meal, which came served on top of a really creamy sweet carrot, yes, carrot puree. The short rib was so tender and perfect along with the sweetness of the carrot puree. Then for dessert, we shared the molten hazelnut cake and cinnamon sugar fritters, which are essentially elaborate churros. Awesome elaborate churros. Save room for the desserts here. Bacchus is a great place if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or have access to an expense account and need to entertain clients. Or just want to treat yourself for whatever reason you deserve. The staff works well together to ensure a seamless experience when you arrive and throughout your meal. The valet was even notified before we walked out the door once we finished our meal, so we didn't have to wait in the cold for the car to be brought around when we were ready to leave. We attended the Sanford Wine Dinner on November 19th. It was our second wine dinner, the last being at Lake Park Bistro. If you love food and wine this is a must. The dishes and wines were such high quality and perfectly paired. The presentation and the history makes the dinner an enlightening and meaningful experience. We are so fortunate to have such quality food in our own back yard. We have always loved Bartolotta's restaurants, but their thoughtful approach to COVID has turned them in to our consistent first choice. read more

Bacchus is one of those restaurants you save for a special occasion. So when the boyfriend asked where I wanted to go for my big birthday and before he was even finished with the question, I blurted out Bacchus. We ordered the Porterhouse for two. This is a 40 oz steak brought in a cast iron skillet with sides of mashed potatoes, spinach and a blend of sautéed mushrooms. I have to say this steak has ruined me for all future steaks! It was cooked perfectly and so much flavor. We ended up taking home quite a lot of leftovers and the steak was just as good the next day heated up. Service was on point. My only complaint about our experience was that they had not updated their dessert menu online. I had scoured their menu for several days prior to our reservation and had my heart set on this bananas foster dessert. I was pretty disappointed when the no longer offered this dessert. read more

Another solid upscale dining place in Milwaukee :) Dined at Bacchus on a random, rainy weeknight. The Maitre d' took our wet coats and sat us in a corner booth in the main dining room. We dined rather late so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Quite romantic I'd say. Felt like a celebrity who rented out a restaurant for the night. Ambiance wise...Bacchus is a classic upscale restaurant. Your white linen tables with minimalist modern decor. Loved the comfortable leather booths and the all glass floor-to-ceiling wine racks. Where can I get one of those?!? Service was as it would be at a high-end eatery. Attentive and knowledgable. Do you ever get the feeling that you are given too much information and details from the server and it gets overwhelming? Yea, it slightly happened here. I'm not mad...just was overwhelmed for a minute. Great selection of wines and spirits! As for food... Foie Gras: Clever and adorable take on the foie gras to make it reminiscent of morning breakfast. Seared foie gras with aged maple syrup/apple compote served with a mini brioche toast/fried quail egg/bacon. I guess you can have breakfast anytime! Spinach Salad: Small mound of dressed baby spinach with poached egg and the maple-glazed fried pork belly. The best part of this dish? The fried pork belly! Delicious crunchy exterior and soft/fatty/flavorful center. I wish there was more! Braised Pork Belly: This was only slightly disappointing especially after the pork belly from the spinach salad. The presentation wasn't too creative; sauce resembling spicy mayo plated in zig zag pattern like it was plated for a sushi roll. The pork tasted like teriyaki pork, albeit the pork being tender. Taste-wise was not what I expected. Loup de Mer: The european seabass is a more mild tasting fish so the accompanying sauce or sides help make the dish. Unfortunately, the veggies served with this was not top notch IMO. It was pickled veggies. I am not a huge fan of pickled foods...so all I tasted was the saltiness and the pickle-ly flavor...however was not all that sour. Braised Short Rib: You can't go wrong with braised short rib. This was rib meat with out the actual rib. Appetizing. Spiced Bread Pudding: This was the winner of the night! I love bread pudding and they did it justice here. It was small and dense but with the perfect amount of spice. The sweet component was a little overpowering but the house-made whipped topping help buffer some of the sweetness away. The pomegranate seeds were a fab addition since it gave it that light zingy tartness to it. Love it! Can I get the recipe?! Overall, I would come back and try more on the menu. You can't go wrong with any of the Bartolotta establishments. Don't forget to use your loyalty rewards card and wrack up points! read more

This place is definitely solid. I loved the ambiance and the service. However, the place is a bit overpriced for what you get. We got the foie gras (of course what would anyone else ever get?!?!?!) And it was delicious. Not the best I've had but good. Then we got the veal ravioli-too salty but fiance liked it. We split a bone in filet mignon. Also good but not melt in your mouth. For dessert we had a chocolate cake which was solid. Overall a good place. I am glad I tried it once but for the price this place should have gotten a 5 star....just sayin...def only 4 star worthy. read more

Great food, small portions. Waiter was very knowledgeable about wine, and was able to provide a great wine recommendation based on my personal favorites. The remodel has a lighter, more modern look. Entire meal was great, but the one downside was the portion size. Special entree of veal ravioli was delicious, but only came with 4 small raviolis. Entree was the same story. Exquisite all around fine dining meal: best I've had in Milwaukee and even makes my overall top meal list which is saying a lot. Love the option for shared plates and entrees. Food: 5, Atmosphere: 5, Service: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 4 Eve award: best filet sauce preparation Highlights: - Filet: peppercorn bourbon filet. I order filet often and this was one of best I've had ever. Heavenly sauce and tender perfectly cooked steak. - Pumpkin gnocchi: another highlight. Pillowy potato fall pumpkin nuggets seared and paired with Brussel sprouts, pepitas, and shaved Parmesan. I'm a gnocchi fan and I'm sometimes disappointed. Nothing to complain about here. - Arrancini: perfectly crispy and textured outside and cheesy not too al dente or mushy inside - Foie gras: seared with brioche (always the best bread pairing) and a quail egg. At the time it was still banned in Cali so it had that bad boy quality to it. - Format: bunch of shared plates and entrees so you can choose or mix and match to you liking. My sis and I just picked a bunch of stuff to share from both sides. - Atmosphere: white tablecloth sophisticated nice but not stuffy or uncomfortable - Service: helpful waitress and loved the special touch of a birthday card hand signed by the staff for my sister. - Wine menu: fantastic options to compliment the extraordinary food Lowlights: - We couldn't possibly eat everything on the menu--even though we wanted to Awesome holiday season meal with my sis that proved Milwaukee restaurants can hang with the best of them.
