3 Taco Plate 2 Steak and 1 Tromp Taco with Rice and Beans
    Sumi J.

I had a hankering for tacos at 9am and Bachman Tacos popped up on my Google Maps. I decided to give it a try. *IMPORTANT NOTE* Order from the gas station counter and then take the receipt over to the person at the food counter. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the 3 Taco Plate with 2 steak tacos and 1 Trompo (pork/ Al Pastor). It came with rice, beans, and a drink. To be honest, the steak itself didn't have much flavor but once topped with the red (spicy) salsa and green (savory) salsa it was fantastic. The Trompo taco was fabulous. It was well seasoned! I'm glad I stopped by... now it'll be a late night staple.

Omg! The BEST trompo tacos!! Bachman is a hidden gem located near the Love Field area. The trompo tacos are the only thing I get here because they're so delicious I don't want to try anything else. I just want to load up on all the trompo. It's a little intimidating if you don't speak Spanish but basically you walk into the gas station, tell the cashier (right side) how many tacos you want then you walk all the way over to the left where the tacos actually are and give them your receipt. Upon walking towards the taco side of the gas station, you'll see the huge vertical work of art that is trompo meat. So juicy. So tender. So flavorful. And the salsa is bomb! Bachman is a bit of a trek but worth it every time. Super fresh and delicious (and cheap!) tacos!

Awesome, awesome place!! I stopped by this little hole in the hall at midnight after my flight, and it was just what I was looking for! The trompo/al pastor tacos were delicious! They don't skimp on the meat, and the tacos are pretty large, especially when compared to other "street taco" places I've been to. It's tucked away in the gas station and you pay at the regular register and then take your receipt to the taco area. I'd highly recommend trying this place out! They're also open 24 hours so they'd make the perfect late night snack! Also, the salsas lean towards the spicier side so be weary!

Their tacos are delicious and have generous amount of meat. Their green sauce is just awesome. It's worth it driving 45 minutes one way to get these tacos. It's just simply delicious.

It might scare you and unless you speak Spanish you will be confused (order where you pay for gas) but it's pretty good

Tacos are pretty good but how in the world am I supposed to order of there is no menu?? You MUST order at the cashier to pay before ordering with the cook. Albeit, the tacos are cheap and food, I'm okay ordering off the non-existent "menu".

Faster, and better than fast food

Heaven on a tortilla!! The best, most delicious and authentic trompo pastor, excellent price, super fast. I doubt you will find a more delicious pastor taco anywhere on Earth. This is inside the Chevron and you pay at the Chevron register first, then take your receipt to the taqueria counter. Haven't tried their other tacos, but the trompo taco is awesome! It is a proper pastor taco in that it is cooked on the upright spit, as pastor was meant to be. Delicious and open all night! Load up on trompos and salsas Verde y Rojas. On average, this is also the fastest service of any taqueria Ive been to. Fast enough to order while gassing up (the car), late enough to hit on the way home from the club, and delicious enough to think about for all hours in between.

    Smiling taco ...must be legit.

Fact : it's part of a gas station. Fact : it seats about 8. Fact : there are no less then three taco murals inside. Fact : you have to pay at the gas station counter then go to the food stall area. Conclusion : if you can get over the fact it's small and part of a gas station your in for a treat. I got the three tacos, beef and chicken. Beef was juicy and moist, chicken was a bit dry but nothing the sauce provided couldn't handle. Also some nice onions and cooked onions provided. You can dress up the tacos pretty well, and for under 5 bucks it's a great deal. Fresh no nonsense mexican food. Nothing special but a solid joint worth checking out.

    David C.

One word to describe the tacos. Mediocre! They were really just ok. Do not live up to the hype. And what is it with places mixing the cilantro and onion. DONT DO THAT! Not everyone likes both! The meat was bland, and it seems the tortillas are heated by dipping them in the deep fryer, they are burning hot and dripping with grease. I should have only ordered one to try them and then gone somewhere else. I will definitely not be coming back. Another negative is that this is at a gas station, not really the most inviting atmosphere. The only "good" aspect was the salsa, it had good flavor and heat.

2 breakfast tacos and one carnitas, with rice and beans. Yum!

Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!

The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.
