The dumplings here are well-made, with good texture and solid flavor (especially the pan fried ones)! That said, the pricing feels pretty steep for what you get. Portions are on the smaller side, and I honestly left still feeling a bit hungry. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept though. It definitely leans more toward casual dining since you bus your own table after eating. Overall, good quality dumplings, but the value just isn't quite there for me.

3 years later and this place is still open. I stopped by to get some grub I could munch on for one of my latest trips back to the desert. Now that the hype has long died down, it's pretty empty. The place wasn't busy when I stopped in last. Employees didn't seem to have a sense of urgency. The dining room is kept pretty clean, with the occasional mess at the sauce station. This time around, I got the wonton soup combo with the pan fried dumplings. Yummm!!! The wonton soup was pretty damn good, although it could use a tad more salt in my opinion. Prices have gone up of course, but the combos are still reasonable for what you get. Parking isn't usually an issue here at this shopping plaza, but it can be challenging during peak times. Bafang Dumpling continues to be a solid choice in my rotation!

This place is great for a quick bite and have plenty of combo options. I enjoyed the dumplings and noodles, while my sister had the wonton soup. The noodles had a tingly after taste from the spice. Personally I wouldn't repurchase the noodles but rather try something else. The dumplings had a nice crunch layer on the outside and soft on the inside. At the counter you can even purchase frozen dumplings. Sauce is in the way back and didn't even realize until after the meal. Wish the servers informed me at least when I got my food. Overall a good experience and food was worth trying at least once.

I came here on a Tuesday evening and it was not crowded at all. I ordered #4 which is the signature noodles & signature potstickers at the register. There's also a self kiosk that you can order from to. They'll give you a buzzer and buzz you when your food is ready. Then you pick any table and get your sauces/water. The noodles were good and saucy. The potstickers were good but just like any other potstickers. I think this place is good to eat once in a while cause it can be a bit oily. I also like that they package it in a ToGo container incase you don't finish it. If you finish you, you'll put your tray in the tray area. Large parking lot that is connected to other stores/restaurant.

Bafang is still a great place for noodles and dumplings. Affordable prices and great portions. And thy done accept tip! We ordered 2 combos. (1 was the Old fashion noodle with 6 signature potstickers and the old fashion noodle with 6 kimchi and pork dumplings. ) We also ordered 12 pieces of signature dumplings (pork and cabbage ) and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I have to say my favorite is their Taiwanese beef noodle soup. It's a generous portion of noodles and beef. The beef is so tender and I like the preserved greens that in the broth. It's one of the best in San Diego!

Dear diary, Came here for a quick dinner and it did not disappoint. The place was more of a cafeteria vibe where you order, pay, grab your food and find a seat. The dumplings were soft and the stuffing was great. The soup was very appetizing. For the price that they are, we were pretty stuffed so it was definitely worth it. There are plenty of parking in the plaza and the seating area is pretty big as well. Definitely give it a shot if you're in the area.

I'd have to say Bafang is great spot for a quick simple meal, and honestly found it more flavorful and enjoyable than higher-end chains like din tai fung. Signature potstickers - Crispy on the outside, juicy filling. A little greasy, and could use more aromatics but solid. Chili pepper fried chicken - Pretty standard. I couldn't really taste the spice though, but it was crispy, and breading reminded me of popcorn chicken with dark meat. Signature noodle - I enjoyed the sauce which was spicy, nutty, a little sweet and the noodles were cooked well. Not as flavorful as Dan Dan noodles but I'd definitely get them again.

ate here mostly for the nostalgia, and it still hits the spot. i love the signature potstickers and the sauce that comes with them. they're super juicy on the inside with the perfect amount of crispy crust on the outside. the corn chowder was decent, but i wished it had a stronger corn flavor.

I've only been here once and came with a friend. The menu is easy to read and for the price the portion is great! It's also very conveniently located in the nearby mall in my neighborhood and the first food place you see as you turn in.

Amazing food! Their combos are an amazing deal, it is fairly priced and the dumplings, potstickers, and noodles all remind me of traditional home cooked style. There are many flavors and options to choose from and size portions are filling. It is self service style where they call your order number and you grab the tray. They also have a self service sauce bar. The interior is very clean and modern. The area is very spacious and not too busy!

Yummy food for great price! Finally got to try this place, it's always packed whenever we pass by it. I can see why. It's so flavorful and probably one of the cheapest meals I've had for such a yummy rice plate. I'm looking forward to trying their other menu items. Highly recommend and will got back again! Note, it's nothing fancy. It's simply really yummy and filling for the price point.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was not overly busy, we were told to order using the tablet. We ordered an order of their signature potstickers, spicy noodles bowl, and their pork chop with pork belly rice. Overall not really impressed with the service, as it over 30 minutes to get our food. Consistently the employees kept disappearing, we saw 3 employees working in the kitchen, where one was always using her food as she was handling the food. Not sure if she washed her hands after each time she used her phone, yuck. Also the food was ok, I was expecting more, but it was served lukewarm as like it sat there for a while. So worth trying, maybe you'll get better service than we did.

I've tried this place a few times and I really like their signature potstickers with pork and cabbage. They have good flavor and I like the crispy finish. The last time I went they had a picture of the pork chop bowl with braised pork belly rice on the window. My friend and I thought it looked good so we both decided to try it. The pork chop was battered and tender. The rice was really flavorful. Definitely, a dish I would have again. Here's my issue with the restaurant..the few times I have eaten here, the tables are dirty. If you sit at a table, you have to clean it yourself. I also have never witnessed an employee actively cleaning. The water and sauce area is also very dirty. Sauce everywhere. I would feel much better about this restaurant if it were cleaner in general.

I opted to order by QR code to get my order in faster. My boyfriend and I both got biang biang mian but he got the version with cumin lamb. The portions are large and super filling. I honestly think one bowl is two meals worth of food at least. The noodles were chewy and bouncy. I love the flavor just make sure to properly mix the noodles - all of the good stuff sits at the bottom of the bowl! The chili oil is fantastic as well and I loved the spice level of these dishes. Service was pretty quick which was nice. I am excited to come again to try the other dishes! Personally I liked the sauce and flavor for the Mapo Tofu more than the BiangBiang noodles. The mapo tofu sauce was more tangy. The beef brisket was very tender. The BiangBiang noodles are very long, but I love the texture of the noodles. Spice level was low. As someone who is weak to spice, I was able to handle it and needed to add extra chili oil in. For a sunday night dinner, wait was about 20-30 minutes. Service is standard. It was not very crowded and a good spot to get dinner. I would come back and order the Mapo Tofu again out of everything that I had there.

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. Oodles by the Noodbar has such a large and diverse menu so I would highly recommend coming in to try them out.

The one thing I did not care for was the dipping sauce. I believe the menu said it was a peanut sauce but I was personally not a fan. It tasted more like a coconut curry sauce.
