    Mini Wonton Soup

Bafang Dumpling is now one of the places I'd return to because it's just that good. We arrived at 12pm on a Thursday and it was super packed since it was during lunch. However, I could see it being busy despite lunch time! There's plenty of seating including bar tables towards the back of the restaurant. However, it may be difficult to snag a seat during lunch hour! The seats are first come first serve. We ordered the mala spicy beef noodle soup and it was super flavorful! The noodles stood out to me because they were al dente and also bouncy at the same time. The BEST Taiwanese beef noodle soup I've ever had! We also tried the bafang signature noodles which was amazing. The seasoning is well balanced between savory and nutty with a touch of sweetness. The wonton soup that came with the combo was seasoned perfectly and had a lot of depth. 5/5 experience and I'll definitely be back as often as I'm able xD

Visited on Sunday around 4 PM, the restaurant was quiet. I was just looking for a quick meal to go, ordered Combo #1, which included 12 signature potstickers with hot and sour soup. The atmosphere was weird, the cashier who took my order didn't greet me or smile and poker face throughout the ordering process. After waiting about 30 minutes, I returned to the counter to check on the status. Another staff who seemed to be a team leader, acted like he didn't see me. When I asked about my order, he simply turned toward the kitchen and asked the staff without acknowledging me or saying anything. After checking, he turned back and told me it would be another 10 minutes. The slowness and the lack of customer service was frustrating, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. The food itself was good, and I enjoyed the potstickers. However, the slow service and unfriendly interactions making the experience unpleasant for me.

One of our friends picked up some dumplings from Bafang Dumpling and brought them to our potluck dinner. Signature Dumplings: Authentic, steamed dumplings hand wrapped with savory pork and cabbage filling Kimchi & Pork Dumplings: Steamed dumplings hand wrapped with juicy pork and kimchi filling. Veggie Dumplings: Plant-based goodness in steamed dumplings, hand wrapped with shitake mushrooms, crisp cabbage, and plant-based meat. All the dumplings are juicy and flavorful! Dip them in sauce or eat them plain. They are so good. I can't wait to dine-in and enjoy them. Support your local business!

Came with 3 other friends and we each got a different combo. Honestly, I enjoyed everything EXCEPT the corn chowder, and also appreciated the reasonable prices! Some stand-outs for me were the kimchi dumplings (so juicy and flavorful), spicy noodles (a must if you love spicy peanut-y noodles), and the wonton soup (very comforting). I definitely would come back for those. The signature pan fried gyozas were crispy, juicy, and tasty as well but I didn't feel that they stood out from other dumpling joints. The pork chop over rice was also good; the pork was very tender and juicy. The place is super casual; order at the cashier, get a buzzard, seat yourself and wait for you buzzard to go off to get your order. Drinks and sauces are self-serve at the station. An overall solid spot and I can see why it's become a small chain!

My impression of Bafang Dumpling is overall positive. I came during a rush hour and ended up waiting 30 minute for my food. When i asked them about my food, it ended up being finished on the counter for some time. Good thing I asked! I got a couple veggie dishes and they were all pretty good but a little cold.

I'm glad they opened another location :) Items I ordered: 1. Combo 3 (6pc potsticker, 6pc dumpling, and choice of soup or soda). I got the signature potsticker, corn and chicken dumplings, and their corn chowder. - I recommend getting their combos to try a variety of dishes. Personally I prefer the potstickers, but I do enjoy the corn and chicken as the filling more. I would prob try their hot and sour soup instead next time. 2. Pork chop with braised pork belly rice + 6 pc kimchi and pork potstickers: My fav dish! Everything was good. Loved the braised pork belly and I liked the pickled veggies. Would be nice if they sold braised pork belly bowl with egg. The kimchi potstickers were good too that even my bf that doesn't usually like kimchi, enjoyed it. 3. Crispy Wontons: Satisfied my cravings of fried wontons. Rec this too. Service was quick and friendly. Parking: Easy, in plaza. Place was spacious, clean, bright, and decent amount of seating if you were to dine in.

I love the combo aspect, perfect spot for you and your friends to try out different items. Not the best dumplings in the area, but very bang for your buck spot. The potstickers are nicely crispy, and I was a fan of their signature noodles. However, I waited for 35min for my food - which is poor because my friends got their orders right away. When I went to the counter after waiting, I saw that my food was just sitting - seemed to be some sort of miscommunication with the employees. The soup was also so-so. I also would've liked if they had more selections for sauces or condiments on the side. I like that they sell their products frozen for take home though.

We just visited again, and I think I found my favorite meal here. Actually, the whole family loved everything we ordered this time! I went with the #8 Bafang Pork Chop + Old Fashioned Noodle + Soda combo. One thing I really appreciate is how customizable the menu is. There's a note that allows you to substitute the pork chop for the Chili Pepper Fried Chicken, which I happily did. You can also swap the noodle flavor, but the Old Fashioned Noodle description, savory scallion and soy sauce base topped with crisp bean sprouts, fresh cilantro, and green onions sounded too good to pass up. I'm so glad I stuck with the Old Fashioned Noodle. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the flavor was simple but incredibly satisfying. For the drink, the cashier mentioned I could substitute it for either corn chowder or hot and sour soup. I chose the hot and sour soup. It was okay, but not really my favorite. Next time I'll definitely try the corn chowder instead. This combo is officially my favorite meal here so far. The Chili Pepper Fried Chicken tastes just like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the dipping sauce that comes with it is sweet with a little kick of spice. It paired perfectly with the noodles. Every visit has been consistently good, and this meal sealed the deal for me. I'll definitely be back for this again.

So excited that they are finally open up in NorCal! I had tried them in SoCal and remembered it was really good. I came by on a Thursday night around 7:30pm and there was no line at all! We ordered combo 1 and combo 4 which let us try signature potstickers, kimchi potstickers, old fashioned noodles, and hot and sour soup. I really loved the old fashioned noodles and signature potstickers. Would definitely come back for them! Overall, really affordable place to grab a quick meal and tastes great! Wonderful service as well with friendly staffs! TIP: ask for a stamp card! Collect a stamp for each combo purchased. Once you reach 10 stamps, you get a free combo!

Came here cause my bf and I wanted to give it a try and it did not disappoint. The corn chowder was good. Not too salty. The signature dumplings were great as well. Just with they had better dipping sauces. Service was quick and there was plenty of seating when I was there and there's outside seating as well. Next time I would like to try the noodle soup.

First time trying Bafang and I came into it knowing it's a Taiwanese fast casual chain. They primarily sell noodles and dumplings. It's nice that they also offer combos. I kind of wish their dry noodle dishes themselves had protein in them, but that's me nitpicking. I tried a combo with their signature dry noodles and pot stickers. I liked that the pot stickers had a thin exterior and the filling was juicy. The noodles were chewy and the sauce definitely hit the spicy, nutty notes. However, it was a lot of carbs and I had a hard time finishing it. The noodles and the pot stickers were decent, but nothing much better than what I can get in a grocery store. I believe the overall quality of frozen pot stickers/dumplings and even instant noodles brands these days has really gone up (some of them even feel premium), and I don't feel like this particular meal outclassed them. I heard their beef noodles are good though, so if I do return, I might try that instead. But for now, I think Bafang is average eats.

Came here around 7:00 pm on a Tuesday wth my girlfriend, wasn't too crowded at all. PARKING: is in a plaza full of restaurants which the lot can be full if it is peak hours so just be weary of that, but plenty of parking otherwise. PLACE: not super huge, there is outdoor seating, and you order through the cashier at the counter, then they give you a buzzer when your food is ready. There is a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce for the dumplings, and a fountain drink machine as well, the utensils and napkins are on the left of the counter you ordered at. FOOD: Signature Bafang Potsticker - really good, super flavorful, to me, the sauce you make would bring it together. Chicken and Corn Potsticker - so good, kind of biased since I love corn and I honestly think it goes really well with potstickers that are pan friend and it makes the flavors pop more. Spicy Mala Noodle - not super spicy but really good noodles, al dente and the sauce is pretty decently good. We've been to the Santa Clara location and was so happy to see a Bafang opened more in San Jose!

Upon arriving the employees say "hello welcome in" to everyone which is nice. I came in on a Friday at maybe 630-700, service was fast. I got the number 4 combo with mala spicy noodles and the bafang potstickers. The noodles had a nice chew, cooked perfectly. The potstickers were perfectly crispy, I also got some bafang dumplings on the side *togo* LOL yeah right. I ended up eating everything I mixed the dumplings and potstickers with the noodles together. The mala was only a little bit spicy they could definitely add more szechuan spicy. After I was done eating i realized they had more sauces near the soda machine like garlic and soy etc. Overall good experience. Would be coming back. The price was not bad around ~23 for everything. I think most people would be okay with just the noodles and something else but I eat a lot, especially this kind of food.

The decor and ambiance is nice - very spacious and elegant. You can join the waitlist from Yelp - always a plus. Highlights: the har gow were plump with large pieces of shrimp and minimal filler. The dumpling skin was on the thicker side (I don't mind it but my wife likes thinner skins.) Maybe that was needed because of how big these were - really packed with shrimp. The mango pudding was delicious and reminded us of childhood, and the shrimp noodle roll was great. Lowlight: I was less happy with the xiaolongbao - there are so many good options for these in the South Bay that this meager interpretation was frankly bordering on blasphemy. I would not order those again. The steamed char siu bao were far better but still could've used more pork in the filling and were slightly soggy and over steamed. We also had the beef chow fun which was excellent with smoky wok hei flavor. Overall a good place for dim sum but avoid the xiaolongbao.

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.

The server's sincere apology when the food was finally delivered significantly helped erase that frustration. The BBQ Pork: Very flavorful and not too fatty. However, typically priced around $15.00 to $16.00, I found the portion size to be a bit small for the cost and the wait. Beef Chow Mein: A classic staple that was well-prepared, though I prefer the thicker noodle. General Chicken: a solid choice, just the right amount of seasoning. Gailan: Fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier meat items. Overall, the sincerity of the staff and the food quality made up for the initial logistical hiccups.

In my opinion, their system for waiting for tables is a bit chaotic. They do not ask for your phone number; instead, they print out a receipt with a number and call it out when your table is ready. There is a monitor inside the restaurant that you can watch, but since it's so crowded and the way the system is displayed on the screen, it's kind of hard to tell what is going on or what your status is. Service-wise, it's exactly what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant serving dim sum, if you know what I mean. :) Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and large, and I am assuming the reason for the long wait is that it's one of only two places to get dim sum in Milpitas (the other being Mayflower in the other highly packed plaza nearby). They do not serve dim sum with the traditional cart system where dishes are rolled around the dining room. Instead, you order from a menu and mark down how many quantities you want of each item. My family got a variety of dishes, but I'll call out some notable ones: * Their shu mai was juicy and packed with meat, probably one of the best shu mai I've had in the South Bay. * Their har gow skin broke apart really easily, which bummed me out, but it was generously stuffed with shrimp. * My favorite dish was their purple rice rolls. It was basically a Chinese donut stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in a purple glutinous rice roll. * The chicken feet were very balanced and not too sweet. * The truffle scallop dumpling had a rich mushroom flavor, and the scallop added a nice flavor profile. * The BBQ pork was coated well with the char siu sauce. It was tender and bold in flavor. Overall, my experience here was great, but I do not think it warranted more than a 30-minute wait. The food also came out a bit slowly in my opinion, but that was probably due to the high volume of people.

Cane here with a party of 3 for Father's Day, got quickly seated in a side room unfortunately…read morerather than the main area where we could browse carts. We ordered our usual: shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings, sui mai, salted fish and chicken fried rice, chicken feet. Unfortunately literally every dish came before the sui mai and shrimp dumplings (seriously? its the most popular dish). I'll start off with the good dishes because honestly there were so little, the two best dishes were the siu mai and chicken feet. The siu mai was hearty, flavors were good, and it was large. The chicken feet was cooked perfectly, texture was consistent throughout and the flavors were subtle and well seasoned. Now the fried rice was 25$, I really wanted this to be good. My honest description of it is ‍, the rice was well cooked, shards were fluffy and seasoned nicely yet that was it. The salted fish was rarely seen, youd only notice every 3 spoonfuls and the chicken was passable. Shrimp rice rolls and shrimp dumplings are my stable go tos, I've been eating these dishes since I was small. These two were a complete disappointment, the batter were both chewy and honestly felt TOO thick. Then it seemed like there was a batter of some sort on both shrimp fillings? This cause the shrimp to have bites that were EXTREMELY chewy, like why are rice rolls chewy??? Final bill was 150$ for mid food that came out late and poorly time. Would NOT come here again.
