I enjoyed my quick stop at Bagel Exchange as a first timer. They have a variety of bagels that are super fresh. I tried their Avocado drink and it was delicious. The bottle it came in was extra cute. The gentleman up front was extremely nice and answered all the questions I had. The place was clean with several other folks enjoying their bagels and coffee. Terrible, incompetent and rude staff. The inside of the place is musty, humid and hot. I placed my order 25 minutes prior to arriving via their website just to wait in line for an additional 5-10 minutes (no dedicated pickup station/line here) and when I got to the front of the line I was told my order would be ready in 5 minutes. Waited another 15 minutes for my order, in this hot musty place. When I finally received my order I realized they had given me a medium size latte instead of the large which I paid for. When I brought this up, the attitude of the staff was terrible, it was as if I was bothering them. Waited an additional 5 minutes to get the correct size latte. Avoid this place, they clearly don't care enough to provide a good service. Also, this place received a C health score! Who know's what kind of gross things the health inspector found. Go elsewhere, AVOID! read more

Felt really stuffy inside, interior/decor is all over the place and the bench/chairs are seriously uncomfortable (take it to go or eat outside). Bagels are decent, but wait time is awful. If they're trying to go for an NYC aesthetic (I mean, stock exchange theme here), it's the polar opposite of a NY bagel spot. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes even when it's not busy. read more

First off, I love that they partnered with an app to cut down on food waste. The inside is so cute. There are tons of board games to choose from to play while waiting for your order or while eating there. My daughter didn't want to leave! We will definitely return. Food- 10/10: I got an assortment of bagels. So far they have been nothing but delicious. I bought a container of cream cheese that was $4.50. I chose to go with chive cream cheese-- let me just say it is so creamy, delicious, and easy to spread! My daughter has a sweet tooth and she is loving their cinnamon raisin bagel. Drink- 11/10: I got an iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. They have a variety of flavors and alternative milks to choose from. It comes in a super cute container that has an aluminum top. Decided to finally try this place out, when I walked in, immediately noticed how stuffy it felt and that it also smelled like cigarettes... ignored it and went ahead and placed my order anyways. I should've noticed how many people were waiting for their order when I walked in, for it to foreshadow my experience. About 10 minutes have passed and they call my name for my drinks. Another 30 minutes have passed and still nothing for food. Asked the staff and they said my order should be the next one. Meanwhile people are coming in and grabbing their food and my food has still not come out. Okay, now it's reached 50 minutes since I've ordered and I still haven't received anything after they told me I was next. They finally call my name... just to let me know they've sold out of my item. Wtf. I was so annoyed I just asked for a refund . The manager tried to refund me the incorrect amount. I'd avoid this place at all cost. read more

Great fluffy bagels! Stopped by to bring my father who was craving bagels. Their opening time states 7:15am but they opened a bit late which was confusing since it was our first time... There aren't many dedicated bagel spots in the SGV, so I was looking forward to trying Bagel Exchange out! I ordered a egg, cheese, and bacon bagel with a chai latte. Overall the bagel was decent; the egg was light and the bacon was just the right texture of crunchy and soft. The bagel itself was decent. It's an overall light-tasting bagel sandwich with no heavy-handed seasoning/flavors. The chai latte was good, but my complaint is that the whole cup was filled with ice! I only got a handful of sips in before the drink was finished because it was 90% ice. The interior is crypto/stocks-themed, which is something I'm not super into, but can see people interested in that kind of thing enjoying the theme. Overall Bagel Exchange was an alright experience. It's a bit pricey for what it is (e.g. $2 extra to add avocado) and the amount they give you drink-wise (see drink photo). I would like to continue supporting this local business, but would have to think about it more. read more

Just had a nice breakfast here with the bf and I had a pleasant time. The food is a little pricy but it's still good. Had the lox, the exchange and a match latte. All were delicious. I did read reviews that some people think their egg isn't fluffy but that didn't bother me because the bagel was hot and the cheese was melty~ The service was very nice and patient. I love that they offer a variety of Board games and books, would love to see them expand this section. It's a small shop, I hope they do well. A new local bagel shop has opened on Alhambra's Main Street. I arrived at 11:00 a.m., unsure if I arrived too early or too late, as there were just a few bagels left on the display counter. I bought a half-dozen bagels in various flavors and ate three of them there with my kids. There are many board games to play, as well as NFT Arts paintings and a four-screen TV with stock/crypto trading. I'm only giving three stars since there aren't any bagels left. I'm hoping that the next time I go, there will be more bagels to choose from. read more

For our first visit, my boyfriend and I each got a Jalapeño Cheese bagel, toasted, with Lox Cream Cheese and Cucumbers. We also got an Asiago Cheese bagel with plain cream cheese, delightful. Both bagels were a 5/5. Very flavorful and the toast was perfect-crispy bite with fluffy filling. I can't emphasize how much I appreciated the bread to cream cheese ratio. I'm so glad to have had a first experience with such fresh bagels! Bagel shops are generally limited and often times, I find bagels can be dry, stale, hard to chew. Bagel Exchange was nothing like that. Our rating is purely for the bagels. We also got a Vietnamese Coffee with Cinnamon Bun flavoring and an Ube Latte. My boyfriend really liked his Viet coffee, although I thought it was ok. I was really disappointed with the Ube Latte because whatever ube flavoring they used did not dissolve fully, resulting in really unpleasant chunks with every sip of my coffee. I will say, though, I'm not a coffee aficionado, and Bagel Exchange still deserves a 5/5 from us. We'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings. read more

We were in the mood for a bagel and stopped by during the 626 Golden Streets bicycle event. The shop was packed but we patiently waited in the long line. We ordered a cheese jalapeño and onion bagel and requested them to be toasted, one with cream cheese and the other veggie cream cheese. The bagel wasn't toasted to perfectly so it was a bit raw and the cream cheese wasn't the best I've had. They need more cream cheese and schmear options, I will go back to try them again but not during a major street event. read more

Service was a bit slow when they first opened, but I've been by several times since then and the service is great. The breakfast sandwiches and the stocks n lox bagel are delicious. I also gave the ube latte a try recently and it gave me just the right afternoon pick me up I needed. I was the first person to use their in-store printer. Bagel Exchange just opened in a space that's seen a couple of froyo shops come and go (e.g., A Tea Yogurt, BlueCherry, CremeBee). I assume they make their own bagels. The bagels look paler than usual. There are a lot of bagel varieties to choose from: Plain, Sesame, Poppyseed, Jalapeno Cheese, Rainbow, Jalapeno, Cinnamon Sugar, Chocolate Chip, Everything, etc. Bagels are $2 each. They have cream cheese spreads, bagel sandwiches (made-to-order with a build your own option), muffins, bagel bites, coffee, juices, etc. Veggie Reserve bagel ($8): My jalapeno bagel was toasted but it took so long to get it that it was already completely cold. It's served open faced and piled high with cream cheese and fresh veggies: tomato slices, cucumber, onions, avocado, and pickled jalapenos. I had a hard time biting into it without veggies falling off. I liked the toppings more than the bagel. The bagel was chewy but seemed a little sweet and didn't have much cheese or jalapeno. They serve Dillanos Coffee from Sumner, Washington. The shop has an interesting exchange theme with several TVs showing stock prices and the news. They accept NFTs. Earn rewards with FiveStars. Parking should be easy to find. There's free wi-fi and outlets. The service was friendly but they take a LONG time to make their bagel sandwiches. Hopefully they'll speed up soon. read more

Came today during the soft opening. People need to understand a soft opening is basically a trial run. They are going to run out of items, because they do not know what is going to be hit or miss. Also I'd hate to see them have excess waste! It is a new business, let them find their footing. Offer constructive criticism, don't post bad reviews and damage a business before it can even start. While I did have a lengthy wait, everyone was friendly, informative, food and drinks all decently priced. Finding a morning bite isn't the easiest in Alhambra, happy to see this place open. I wanted to love this so bad because we really need a bagel shop in Alhambra, but I just don't. First, the lady taking the orders seemed very confused and lacked confidence, which is just off putting. I know they just opened, so I guess I can overlook it. I ordered a bagel sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese. The bagel looked very pale even though I asked for it toasted. The sausage and cream cheese were fine, but the egg was really gross. It's almost as if it was boiled. It had a strange clumped, wet texture. I immediately had to take it off. I also ordered a matcha latte and it was basically all milk. I saw the person making it try it and he didn't look pleased with it. If you don't like it, what makes you think I will? Lastly, they say they are open until 6pm but at 9am they ran out of bagels and other items like cheese. Do they close down mid day and open back up stocked or do they close when they run out? I hope that in a month or so, they have it together because I really want them to succeed! read more

I overheard that their ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening will be on May 1st! I got the following: * Stocks & Lox: Got one on the jalapeno cheese bagel and another on the asiago spinach one. Lots of flavor here. Good crisp on the bagel (and a nice sweet aftertaste!). The toppings really pop. I'm extremely picky about texture and they nailed it - everything is thinly sliced so you can get a little bit of everything with each bite (sprouts, onions, tomato, capers) wtihout feeling overwhelmed. I'm normally not a big capers fan but it works here. The wrapper is newspaper-style, which I thought was a cute touch to go along with the theme. * Viet coffee: YUM. I appreciate that they don't go too hard on the condensed milk. It's just the right amount. * Some bagels to go: My fiance enjoyed the blueberry bagel and said it had a nice sweetness to it. The menu looks like the Wall Street Ticker Board, and the menu item is "stock and lox" I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an onion bagel. I also added avocado for an extra charge but it's worth it. Bacon came out crispy and sandwich was hot. I added a bit of the zindrew chili oil that they sell to one half of my sandwich and it was so good. My "stocks & lox" bagel was one of the best bagels I've ever had... very fluffy/airy and not dense like other bagels. The cream cheese and toppings were perfectly proportioned and the sprouts gave my bagel the extra "oomph" that it needed. I also had the strawberry lemonade with a chili rim, which was good but not as good as I was hoping it would be. (The lemonade tasted a bit off.) Minus one star for the service: They over sold their bagels after we already paid and had been waiting for our food. Once the bagel that we wanted was gone, they tried to sell us another flavor that we didn't want. It took longer than it should to work out the order issue so our quick stop for a bite turned into a longer ordeal. I'll definitely give this place another try because their food is so delicious. The lady in the front (I think her name is Steph) is very sweet and accommodating when handling my order the other day. My favorite bagel so far is the pretzel bagel (I love pretzels). I ordered the stock and lox which is fresh salmon, veggies n cream cheese on any bagel you want. I chose the everything bagel and also ordered a cold brew. My order came out pretty quick. Stock and lox was really good. The bagel and salmon tasted fresh. I would give it a 10/10 and probably better than the ones i usually order at cafes. The cold brew was strong the way I like it. Friendly staff and quicker service compared to other bagel sandwich places. The place is very clean and there's a good amount of seating for indoor dining without feeling cramped or too close to other people. I got the ube latte and Avocado BLT on an everything bagel. I love that they have oat milk as an alternative milk option; not a lot of places do. Also, a lot of ube lattes tend to have a grainy texture that I don't really like, but Bagel Exchange's ube lattes taste so good and don't have much of that grainy texture. I'm always looking for a bagel place with a really good chocolate bagel. It's not easy to find a bagel place that offers a chocolate bagel much less a good one. Luckily, Bagel Exchange came along and found itself a space on Main St. I was excited to try this place out because of aforementioned offering of chocolate bagels and the fact that it had a crypto theme was icing on the cake (ok. I don't actually do crypto. I just enjoy themed eateries. I know. I'm one of those). I skipped out on the coffee because I had to drive to Ontario after and driving and caffeine don't mix for me, but they look delicious!! I got the now highly anticipated chocolate bagel and I'm happy to report the chocolate bagel was amazing (Side note, I was mistakenly given a cinnamon raisin bagel at first but after realizing their error and apologizing for it - although no apology needed, I've definitely mistaken raisins way too many times for chocolate chips especially in cookies - they rectified and gave me the chocolate chip bagel. Not the biggest fan of cinnamon raisin but that was good too!). I will be back because I'm excited to try their coffee drinks (cereal latte in particular) and to try their other bagel flavors (along with get more chocolate bagels!).
