From the moment I am at the door I got greeted it with nothing but friendly service and kindness. The people behind the counter were very willing to please and let me know about the selections in the specials of the day and made some very nice suggestions on the type of sandwiches they had. I really appreciate their help I will definitely revisit this place in the future and I will definitely tell some friends to come eat here. DO NOT GO HERE. I'm all for supporting mom-and-pop shops but the owners are very shady and don't deserve your business. This place is near my office and it always seems busy in the morning so I stopped by with the boyfriend on a whim. Big mistake. We got 1 sesame bagel, toasted with REGULAR cream cheese and tomato slices. We asked the lady making the bagel how much the tomatoes cost. She said 50 cents. When we got to the register, the owner (I'm guessing her husband), rang us up and charged us for FLAVORED cream cheese and 55 cents for the tomatoes. Plus tax. We didn't think much of it since it was only a difference of a few cents. I saw they had hazel nut coffee so I went back to get a small coffee (priced at $1.50) and was charged $1.62. Fine, I'm not going to whine over just 12 cents. I go over to the coffee pots, get myself some "Hazelnut" only to realize that it was just regular dark roast. I tell the lady and she opens it and says "This is hazelnut" which it obviously wasn't. So my boyfriend and I tell the owner and ask for a refund (I can get regular ol' coffee at the office). He apologizes and gives me back $1.50. I tell him since he charged me tax, he should refund me the full amount of $1.62. He begrudgingly hands me 12 cents because he KNEW that was right. We got out of there fast and won't be coming back. The bagel itself wasn't bad but I'm sure we're not the only ones the owners have cheated. 10 cents here, 20 cents from another customer...it all adds up. It disgusts me to think how many poor people have been scammed by this awful couple. Cheating your customers is a pathetic way to run your business. I've been coming here for a few years. They have good bagels and I used to really like their bagel sandwiches. They used to have a really good cheddar cheese that made their sandwiches awesome. I came here two weeks ago and ordered a bagel sandwich and they said they're out of cheddar cheese. Yeah they're out of cheese. They can't just walk to the Safeway and buy some more, no, that is against their strict policies! Can't break the rules! Better to tell the customer to screw themselves than go to a god damn store and buy more cheese. Nope. I came back a week later and they said they have discontinued the cheddar cheese. Discontinued the god damn cheddar cheese that is the only reason I come here. I asked why and they said their wholesale supplier no longer carries it. I asked the owner why don't you just go to Safeway or Costco and buy some? They said it would be too expensive. Cheese is too expensive. But only cheddar cheese. So they've just stopped serving it. Pure idiocy. I guess in the minds of moron business owners, it makes more sense to piss off and loose your customers than to raise your prices by 10 cents. Really how much can it cost to get cheddar cheese? Do you have any idea how terrible a bagel sandwich tastes with swiss or pepperjack cheese? It's horrible. read more

This place is a good stop for breakfast if you're on the run, and has wifi. HOWEVER, I am tired (tired!) of the noahficiation of the bagel industry. Even though I live down the street from Bagel Street, I haven't been there because I'm not a huge bagel fan. But after I got a PO box at the Postal Annex next door, I kept walking by and one day saw that they had sandwiches. Since then, I've become a regular customer: - The store owner, a member of a family that has multiple Bagel Street cafes, is friendly and always remembers me - The rolls are delicious, made from the same tasty dough as the bagels, but without the inconvenient shape and large enough to hold ample sandwich fixings - They have a Jewish baking consultant they hired who has taught them to bake authentic bagels - A nice selection of fresh and tasty sandwich fixings - They have good coffee - A nice selection of beverages - The "greenhouse" sitting area is very pleasant - Service is reasonably fast - Prices are reasonable - They have a frequent-buyer program The downside is that they're out of some bagels/rolls at off hours. This reassures me that their baking is always fresh, but it could be disturbing if they don't have any kind of roll that I like. read more

A while ago, I had phoned an order in, drove to pick it up and pay for it, only to arrive home to realize that the order was incomplete (missing about 25% of the custom bagels). So, I call Bagel Street Cafe to speak with a representative, only to learn that "I should have checked it before I left." Oh well, that's fine. I am that person... the one that wants to give one star for annoyance... but I won't. This is the part of being fair that sucks... SO, the bagels here are consistently decent - nothing to jump through hoops for, but it's convenient and close. The do not have fat free cream cheese either. They get a -1 star for their customer service. First off, the woman was very curt and cold. Secondly, I pull out my Visa to pay and she tells me there is a $5 minimum - but uh, guess what? This practice (requiring a minimum charge by merchants to consumers) is prohibited by both Visa and MasterCard credit card companies - it is in all the contracts. Most people do not know this fact - but yes, it's true. Instead of taking the time to attempt to explain this to her, I said "fine, throw in another bagel".... I left annoyed and frustrated. Maybe the owners check their reviews on yelp and will look over their policy agreements and make the much needed change.... and maybe they could smile more. Great neighborhood feel. Louie and his sister run a nice friendly, warm and iniviting shop. The bagels are bigger than most shops and the prices are better than other shops. For lunch, the bagel sandwich combos (sandwich, chips, and soda) for slightly less than $7 is good deal. They also sell small portions of potato or macroni salads which make nice side dishes. Great bagels, cream cheese, and all around good food. Their coffee could use some work, like maybe some local roaster or something more interesting than what I find at most gas stations. They have WIFI with an password that they give you on request. I was very surprised to find only two tables have power for laptops etc. And it is an extension cord fed through a pane of glass from the kitchen. I will not be coming here again. The main person working is super nice however there is no where other than the cash register (the sign is destroyed a little) that they have a $5 minimum for card/Apple Pay. I wanted just a bagel and don't usually carry cash. I also wanted some hot water for my own tea and they wanted to charge $1.00 for a cup! I ended up getting the bagel and tea for $5.40. The woman at the cash register was not friendly either. There are many other local bagel places that will take card for smaller amounts. AVOID this place if you don't carry cash. read more

I was happy with the prices at first. $6.53 for a breakfast bagel and coffee. I was astounded to find, however, that the ammoubt actually charged me was $446.53. Had I not compulsively checked my account at the shop this could have been a real problem- especially because they did not provide me a receipt. They dealt with it slowly, putting their customers first as I became late to a meeting, then proceeded to charge me for what I had purchased after voiding the hundreds they charged me. The bagel and coffee were both sub par at best, but the ineptitude of the service takes the cake. I don't review places often, but I had to share this experience. Add this to the list of "why haven't I known about this place by now". I stopped in here today for a sandwich after grabbing some drugs at CVS. I usually head to Boston Market, but figured I'd try something new. Now, I don't like bagels - I'll just say that up-front. That's right...I said it. I don't like 'em. Don't like the chewiness. And I'm okay with that. That said, I noticed they had rolls for their sandwiches, so it sounded like a better choice over Boston Market. I wasn't disappointed! The lady suggested a turkey avocado sandwich and that sounded perfect. She put it on a dutch crunch roll - and I've had more misses than hits with dutch crunch. But this was the best I've had. Nice and soft, perfectly crunchy on top. One of the best rolls I've had. The ingredients were top notch and fresh. The turkey was Boar's Head quality - and the avocados were fresh and delicious. I got mine without sprouts and cucumbers - I think next time I'll ask for no peppercinis as well. I prefer banana peppers. But overall, very good and I'll definitely be back. It's the best option I've found for a sandwich in this area - our only options are Subway, Togo's and Safeway, afterall. read more

I had an appointment in the area and found myself here one weekday morning. I left satisfied, but not blown away. The bagel? exactly what I needed it to be. Fluffy, solid amount of cream cheese and viola - a tasty breakfast. I guess for me the service was a bit off and cold. It wasn't the worst I've had, but no it didn't like a non chain bagel place could. Oh well. The layout is okay too, I don't know. Something was just off. Came in around 11:00 for a sandwich and latte- unfortunately they ran out of dutch crunch bread around that time (get there early on Sunday's for some!) so I opted for the cheese bagel sandwich. this bagel shoppe is very close to where i live, and i love that i can just walk here. their regular, standard-size bagels are $.99 each. gourmet bagels (anything with cheese in it) are more. i purchased: 1 strawberry bagel ($.99) pink coloured, but hard to taste the strawberry flavour. a few strawberry seeds were detected in the bagel. 1 blueberry bagel ($.99) blue-ish coloured, again, hard to taste the blueberry flavour as it was very mild. 1 sourdough bagel ($.99) good sourdough taste in this one. 1 small tub of light strawberry creem cheese ($2.75) a bit pricey for such a small tub, but this was an awesome cream cheese! lots of strawberry seeds and lots of strawberry flavour mixed in. great shmear for my bagels. i could have eaten this all by itself! inside seating is plentiful and spacious. there is some seating outside. there is lots of parking in this shopping center. employees are nice and friendly. read more

Freaking love this place. Great bagel sandwiches and very friendly and helpful staff. Free wi-fi, there's outlets and plenty of space. And there's two restrooms, one for the men and one for the women. I hate when I'm studying at Starbucks across the lot and I have to wait in line for the ONE bathroom that they have. (Sorry, bathrooms are very important to me, esp when i'm ingesting a lot of coffee/tea that makes me pee all the time). I definitely prefer this place better to study since it's not too loud/crowded, and also for their delicious bagel sandwiches during my breaks! =) read more

I love Bagel Street Cafe! The bagels are always fresh and flavorful and the staff is pleasant and very helpful. The interior is cute and they even have a couple tables outside. In the morning I like to get an Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese or an Everything bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese... delightful! Although I enjoy them, the bagels alone might only rate 3-4 stars but if you factor in the sandwiches, this is definitely a 5 star place. Lunchtime is my favorite. Their California Club sandwich is awesome! They serve a generous portion of turkey, bacon, cheese and lots of veggies on fresh baked bagel rolls, there are many varieties: dutch crunch, sesame seed, onion, wheat and my personal favorite is the Asiago roll, yum! My boss and I had lunch there today and were both very satisfied. (she had the Avocado Veggie sandwich on a wheat rolI and although I think mine was better, she liked it a lot) I work close by so I'll be back soon Bagel Street! read more

The service is quick, the selection of bagels and beverages is pretty solid, and on the off chance they screw up, they fix the issue right away. Bagel street - my home away from home. True, this is just a bagel cafe. It is not The French Laundry, or Chez Panisse. But there is something to be valued about simple, straightforward and consistent food. Went here practically every weekend during the 2 years spent in MV. Better selection of bagel flavors than Posh, not to mention that the bagels are twice the size. My favorite, the lox schmear, is cream cheese with bits of lox throughout - much better than the orange-hued lox flavored cream cheese from Noah's. Also loved the chicken salad bagel sandwich which came with tons of fresh veggies, especially on a pumpernickel bagel. The staff here has always been friendly.
