The portions are always generous, which makes both my eyes and my stomach happy! I always order the chicken pesto crêpe; it's my go-to. My only wish is that they used freshly grilled chicken instead of canned, because I think it would take this dish to the next level. This was my first time coming to this cafe and it was so so amazing! First off, the service was great; the lady taking the orders was also cooking all the orders so I applaud her for that! I had been wanting to try this spot for a while. Directly across the street from the Dignity Health Arena they have a very charming little spot. Upon entry you can't help but admire the way this spot is so cozily tucked into the trees overhead to create a beautiful patio of filtered sunlight. Really nice and peaceful setup for those that would enjoy the outdoor seating. They have a very nice menu offering all sorts of different crepes and breakfast options. The lady that helped us was very friendly and hospitable. I really wanted to like this place but it seems that their biggest downfall is their own mistake, being ill prepared to provide for their customers. If there's one thing that absolutely irks me about a food industry business, it's when an item or items are on your menu but you don't have the ingredients or means to make them. Apparently they do make specialty coffee drinks but their espresso machine was not working. Their ice machine and soda machine was also not working. Keep in mind this is July in Bakersfield, just unacceptable. This is a terrible inconvenience and we should've chosen to leave and come back another day when they were actually prepared to offer menu options, but we didn't. Instead we opted for a regular coffee. I don't know who made this coffee but it so strong it was barely drinkable. I would also advise anyone that if you do get creamer from here, be careful. In our attempt to at least make this coffee tolerable we asked for cream and it instantly curdled when mixed. When we asked for more creamer, she said "I'll have to check if I have any more". We decided to ditch the coffee and just get a soft drink from the refrigerator. This was a Thursday morning and despite of how little customers there were, service here is very slow. I will say that when our food finally arrived, everything looked great, I really appreciate the effort that was put to make each dish very aesthetically pleasing. The crepes are very light and thin, unfortunately (depending on which dish you choose) the flavor is completely lost by being so rich and overpowered by drizzle and topping. I have been intending to come here for many years and I'm so glad I finally made it. Cafe Crepes is delightful. Sarah & Kayin were the friendly and helpful staff today. Sarah explained the menu and was helpful answering questions I had. Kayin made my scrumptious crepe. This place is so cute! A whimsical style that just brings a smile to your face. It has a bit of a European vibe. Today I ordered the Gluten Free Turkey Crepe with caramelized onions YUM! The burst of flavor with my first bite was heaven. The gluten free crepe had a good flavor & texture. It was served with sliced red potatoes whose presentation was pretty with the red peel intact but they were a bit underdone and not hot. That said the flavor was delicious and I ate some of them anyway. There is a pretty outdoor courtyard outside for dining in warmer weather. Coming here feels like a staycation. I think the service here was quite pleasant. There is definitely a Paris theme that the owner is going for. I believe this was a strong theme to go for with the age of the building. We dined in for brunch. You can tell the building is older but the place is quite clean. The place looks regularly dusted as not a speck of dust was on the ac unit or fan blades. The place has plenty of restrooms to offer well stocked. Do Not be frightened by the street appearance because the food was absolutely worth the price. We had the salmon panini, strawberry and banana crepe, and Dubai chocolate crepe, and the Philly cheese steak crepe. All delicious and fresh. Popped into this place, while family was in town on Thursday, May 8. The café is in the downtown area in a quad with three or four other businesses. There is plenty of street parking with a two hour limit between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM. The café is small, but there is plenty of seating inside and outside. When the weather is nice sitting outside in the quad area is probably great. There is plenty of shade as well. The restaurant is very clean and tidy there are plenty of spaces to sit on the inside of the café's front room. We were greeted by a very friendly and professional attendant. She was a very nice lady and super sweet. Since it was our first time, she took the time to explain the different types of food options she offers at the café. The restaurant serves sweet and savory crêpes as well as specific breakfast items, that are served all day and panini's. The all day breakfast menu looked delicious and every item on the breakfast menu is served on a crêpe. We ordered two sweet crêpes and one savory crêpe. We ordered the lemon blueberry crêpe, the strawberry banana, Nutella, crêpe, and turkey and onion marmalade crêpe. The sweet crêpes were pretty delicious and your standard type of crêpe, probably the most popular. The turkey onion marmalade crêpe was very delicious. And all three crêpes were pretty big so if you're hungry and don't want to share, this is the perfect place Aside from crêpes the café offers, coffee, coffee, beverages, fountain, drinks, and bottled drinks. I will definitely return to try other things from the menu. I bet when the weather is gorgeous in the morning sitting outside is nice. The strawberry milkshake had a chemical taste, and the latte was horrible--similar to the house coffee, and no favor coffee cremers available. I had a really disappointing experience at Cafe Crepe. It's clear they are severely understaffed, and unfortunately, it shows in both the service and the quality of the food. The staff seemed overwhelmed and uncoordinated, which led to long wait times and a lack of organization overall. I waited about 25 minutes just for a coffee, and when I politely asked about it, the employee responded in a passive-aggressive tone, saying she had been busy and that it would "be a minute." I understand being short-staffed can be stressful, but customer service should still remain respectful. As for the food, it did not meet expectations at all. My turkey pesto crepe was drenched in olive oil to the point it was inedible. The mocha coffee and caramel freeze were both very poor in taste. The chocolate strawberry Nutella crepe was overly filled, making it messy and unbalanced rather than enjoyable. To make matters worse, they didn't provide a receipt, so it was unclear how the $50 total was even calculated. Overall, while I can empathize with staffing challenges, the experience was not worth the money. Between the service, wait times, and food quality, I would not return. read more

I genuinely love this place. I've never been disappointed here. Slow days or busy days, and no matter who is behind the counter, I have had nothing but positive experiences. I can't speak to EVERY crepe on the menu, because I have my go-to favorite (the smoked salmon crepe) but I've tried a few others on occasion when the salmon wasn't available, and each one has been absolutely delicious. Yes, the orders do take some time to come out. Such is the nature of making crepes. I would never count that against them. Having made crepes myself, I know how time consuming the process can be. If you're in a crunch for time, keep that in mind. I also just love the atmosphere here. From the two indoor seating rooms to the gorgeous garden area, I really do feel like I've stumbled upon some quaint little French cafe tucked in an obscure corner on the outskirts of Paris. This place is not what it used to be at all! I used to come here all the time and loved it even though they are very overpriced. They also serve food on paper plates which is unfair because of how much you're paying. This most recent time I went to grab a smoothie. I tried ordering a smoothie and the worker kept telling me you know you're behind all of these costumers so you will have to wait a while. And i say that's fine i'm in no rush. Then she says it again and she's being more dramatic and she starts complaining about how it's only two people working so i have to wait and i said that's fine. It really seemed like she just didn't want to make it because of how busy they were. But at last i'm about to pay and i notice they have a B! The restaurant is in an old downtown cottage with limited AC (gets hot in the Bakersfield heat) & it's very small on the left side. There's more seating on the other side but it's hotter on that side. They do get busy & it takes forever sometimes so call & order ahead if you can. We've waited over 30-45 minutes for food a few times. If it's dead, it shouldn't take too long. We always get one savory crepe & one sweet crepe. Turkey & Avocado - very soft & flavorful & includes seasoned potatoes Strawberry Nutella - no fake chocolate sauce, all Nutella & fresh fruit. We also order it with extra Nutella. Cafe Crepes has been on my radar for a bit, I've been meaning to get down there and I finally did on Friday. The staff was very friendly and welcomed me when I entered, the lady at the register was nice and told me I picked her personal favorite dessert crepe. I tried the chicken pesto panini and the lemon delight crepe. I'll get it out of the way right now and say it is pretty pricy. The sandwich and crepe cost me $26, the panini alone is $15. But that's about what Sequoia for their sandwiches and this was much better than Sequoia in my opinion. There was plenty of chicken, the pesto was delicious and the panini was perfectly grilled. I thought the crepe was also delicious, the lemon curd was fantastic. The baked blueberries complimented the lemon really well and the crepe was perfectly cooked. So this weekend I was in Bakersfield- seriously. I'm not kidding! Anyhow, I decided I needed to take a morning walk and get some coffee. My hotel has a Starbucks, but I wanted something local.
