The food was good and served quickly. Nice little diner! Met a friend there and it was nice to be able to hear one another chat! I had the soup, which was delicious. It also was the perfect temperature! My friend had breakfast and my girls had pancakes. All of us were pleased with our choices and the amount of food. Late flight out of Fairbanks today so I came to North Pole Alaska for one more Triple D. Maybe I can see Santa to get my name off the naughty list. When in Nome do as the Nomans do. If you are in Fairbanks you would be making a mistake by not visiting the country cafe in North Pole. The place is a mom and pop diner with remote control planes hanging from the ceiling. It's just a plane space if you ask me. It's big bright and home the waitress and front house staff are really nice. The menu has many interesting choices and dang did that food come fast. The Croissant French toast was delicious although it was a bit mooshy I still enjoy. The glaze was not super sweet that was a nice touch. I added the reindeer sausage and that was a great choice. Kind of warped to eat reindeer in Santa's home town thought. Try it yourself. Cute joint and a must visit local friendly place. read more

We saw the reindeer sausages on the menu and decided to give it try! It's a small restaurant in a strip mall with plenty of parking. I ordered their signature burger with a side of reindeer sausages. This morning, we drove to North Pole to eat breakfast at the Country Cafe. My wife had their special, croissant French toast with berry compote, eggs and bacon, and I had biscuits and gravy with ham and scrambled eggs. Both meals were delicious, my wife's, especially scrumptious. Nice interior with fairly large model airplanes hanging from the ceiling. For whatever reason, North Pole seems to have a much better breakfast seen that Fairbanks, which is much later! A classic diner/greasy spoon with a few unique twists: 1) A Bulgogi burger! 2) An insanely decadent croissant French toast! I came for breakfast and ordered the second. I'm not much into sweets, but when I am...it's French toast at breakfast. (gotta have a black coffee though, to cut the sugar...so I can eat more sugar) It was unique and delightful, and of course came with very quick coffee refills. It came with a side of bacon that was generously portioned. The interior was bland and drab but...seriously who cares? Service was warm and friendly, they make you feel like family. read more

We tried the Country Cafe for breakfast this morning. The staff were friendly and provided quick service. We ordered the country fried steak which came with eggs, hash browns and toast. The portion was massive. We could have split one and been completely satisfied. The price was about what you would expect-$40.00 for two of us with coffee. When we were checking out, we saw some ornaments hanging on a tree. They were for purchase as a donation. They explained who makes these ornaments, which were pretty neat. After having a disappointing experience at Cookie jar restaurant my wife and I found country cafe and it did not disappoint! Outstanding friendly service and food. We had eggs, french toast, bacon and reindeer sausage, all perfect. We went back the next day and enjoyed another great experience. We were driving from Fairbanks to Anchorage and back to Fairbanks and our only disappointment was that our return flight from Fairbanks was Monday afternoon, the only day you are closed. So bummed as we were looking forward to a last great breakfast before airport food. :) Thank you for such a fantastic experience. Everyone at this establishment was friendly and efficient. This is an unassuming place next to a Taco Bell and also a Chinese restaurant down the strip mall area. When you walk in you see a bunch of RC planes and cars which is really cool and brought back memories of my childhood back for a spell. This seemed like a local eatery but we were glad we chose to eat a small brunch there. The cream of broccoli soup needed a little salt and pepper to bring it to my liking. My wife had the chicken fried steak with delicious white gravy. My daughter had a slice of French toast and scrambled eggs with hash browns, which were all cooked to perfection. The service was great super friendly staff all around. I had the French Dip and I've had many different variations of it and the hoagie bread which is usually super crunchy and crusty. I appreciated the fact that the hoagie bread was super fresh and soft. The pairing with the cream of broccoli was so good, especially in the cold Alaska weather. Everything there was very well done. A few friends and I stumbled upon Country Cafe during a trip to Fairbanks/North Pole back in December 2023. We were so glad we found this place! We had the pizza soup, bulgogi, french toast, reindeer sausage, and a few other dishes - everything was seasoned deliciously, well portioned, and fresh. Just passing through, and Yelped a place to eat. It seemed this place was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives at some point, so I was intrigued. The decor is pretty basic. The service was friendly. I had to laugh when my $3 coffee came with powdered creamer. I mean, really? I could have gotten that for free in my hotel room. Honestly, for what it is, and where it is. They made a great Reuben! I'm not a fry person, but the soup of the day didn't sound great. So, the fries are ok. Super crispy and smoking hot. The grilled club my coworker got looked amazing, and our drinks got refilled. For the price, it was worth it. Look, it's plastic tables, and not fancy. Been going here for a dozen years...they never usually let me down. Sunday, the over medium eggs were essential raw (egg white translucent/clear... speed of prep is getting to be key over quality... Breakfast is served all day at the Country Café in North Pole, Alaska. Nothing tests my will more than trying a uniquely southern American delicacy in the most northern of American places. I've had biscuits and gravy near Santa's house yo! The Country Café's small "soup kitchen" atmosphere does not prevent this establishment from coming through when one aches for a plate of B&G. It was adequate. It quenched my B&G need. They had other classically breakfast fare on the menu. But when my eyes get fixed on biscuits and gravy, it's all I can think about. Even in the North Pole, Alaska, the call of B&G was too much to handle. The prices were a little high for breakfast, but it's Alsaka, so it is to be expected. Try breakfast here. We tried the country cafe our first day in Fairbanks. Our group of three enjoyed each item that we ordered. So much so we went back two days later to eat again. Both trips to the cafe have been filled with top of the line service from the incredibly friendly staff. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Biscuits and gravy were a favorite, along with the reindeer sausage, and the country cafe burger. We stayed in Fairbanks and took day trips everyday. We found the North Pole to have the an interesting list of activities near by . All hyped up but my expectations were not full met. Although it was pretty good but it didn't stand out to me. The country skillet was good, a little much for me. My boyfriend insisted we came here because he wanted their "home made biscuits & gravy" but it didn't appear to be home made. Just a basic cheap dinner breakfast, cheap, fast & pretty good. This is a good place to go to get an unassuming plate of food. We stopped in after hearing some great reviews about Country Cafe. I got a grilled ham and cheese with fries and it was ok. The sandwich tasted good but for some reason, it was super soggy so the top bread was grilled nicely but the bottom was a squishy mess. My partner got the country fried steak and eggs and said that it was good - not the best she's had but not the worst either.
