I'm not a big bagel eater, but the bagels here blew me away! The texture is perfect, especially the yellow egg bagels which are a bit softer (but still chewy!) than their other bagels. I love this place! It's rated one of the best in the area, if not all of New England, and for good reason. They've expanded the inside of the store a bit but definitely still have a line on weekends. It's totally worth the wait though, and it moves generally pretty fast. I always get the Eggspañola bagel sandwich, though the cold smoked salmon is also a good change of pace sometimes. Some of the bagel flavors sell out pretty fast, but I like getting the olive or sesame ones often. I cannot describe the love I have for this bagel, but the best I can manage is that I know I want more. I'm not sure if this bothered the other patrons, but they could have been doing the same thing for all I knew, so engrossed in my bagel was I. Unfortunately there are only a few tables inside and they were all taken, so keep that in mind if you're planning to eat there. The sandwich itself was tasty. The saltiness of the pretzel bagel paired really well with the savoriness of the bacon and runny egg yolk. It didn't blow my socks off, but it was good! I ordered the hot smoked sandwich on a sea salt bagel and cucumber lemonade. Unfortunately, some flavors were sold out by the time we reached the beginning of the line. The bagel was packed with pickled red cabbage which did not taste bad but ended up overwhelming the entire sandwich. I enjoyed the hot smoked salmon, but it had a thin layer in comparison to everything. The sandwich sounded better on paper than it ended up tasting. I could not finish even half of it before getting sick and tired of it. I do not have much of an impression on the bagel texture, but the sea salt was prominent. The cucumber lemonade was better than I expected, but I would not purposely get it again. I tried my friend's bagel with jam and that was probably the worst jam I have had. It was overly sour making it hard to stomach the bagel. Overall, I do not think this place was worth the wait and there are better bagel spots in the area. read more

My number one place for bagels in Boston. I came here randomly one day while in Cambridge. There was large line out the door waiting for bagels and I was curious. Coming from New York City I did not expect a long line for bagels in Boston so I decide to try it out. Ever since then I have been coming here every time I am in Boston. The bagels are made fresh and packed with flavor. They have several sandwich and drink options available. My favorite is the Eggspanola on an everything bagel. It is packed with flavor and delicious. The feta and aioli really make the sandwich. Over the years I have tried the other choices as well but the Eggspanola will always be my favorite. The only downside to this location is the lack of seating. There are only four tables available. With so many people coming during the weekend hours it is hard to find any space to enjoy your meal unless you come super early or later in the day. However, if you live close by it is easy to pick up and go as many people do. read more

I got the charcuterie brie on a poppy bagel. I'm a huge fan of brie, but I was fairly disappointed that the brie, the arugula, and the salami were served room temperature. The salted butter was barely an addition. In terms of the bagel, I prefer a softer bagel if it's not toasted. The bagel itself was fairly dense and stiff. BUT, I did appreciate the portion sizes and the distribution between meat, cheese, and veggies! I believe I would've been a bigger fan if I came earlier in the day, when the ingredients are fresher. I went on a Sunday around 10:30am, waited for about 30 minutes in line, then another 10 minutes for my bagel order to be ready. I'm not quite sure why the hot smoked salmon is so popular of an order--I didn't enjoy it texturally or flavor wise. However, the cold smoked salmon was delicious. The bagels themselves are incredibly light and airy with a nice chew. Really really good. Fantastic flavors as well. I really enjoyed the rosemary honey cream cheese, which was pretty unique. Went with a friend and we got the BLT sandwich on an Everything bagel and an Eggspañola also on an Everything bagel. The BLT sandwich was probably the best bagel sandwich I've had in the Boston area. It's not a typical BLT! The bacon is candied and the tomatoes were oven-roasted. The texture of the bagel was incredible. I added Spicy Scallion cream cheese as recommended by the cashier and it added so much flavor! The Eggspañola had feta, egg, and we added avocado. The sauce that came on the bagel was great and the ingredients tasted very fresh. The texture was just a little too mushy and I wish there was something crunchy in there. The ambiance is very quaint. I went on a Tuesday morning and it was packed! I recommend going before 10AM if you want all your choices or they sell out! The price is very reasonable with it being about $7-$12 per sandwich. This is cheaper than a lot of other bagel sandwiches in the area. I haven't been back since my first experience but I will definitely be coming back for more! read more
