I wish the Absentee Landlord/Owners of Finagle a Bagel would get their act together, and rebuild their once (previously) esteemed business. Finagle a Bagel's, single remaining store is a negative reflection on their once enterprise, and once, legendary history. Finagle a Bagel, bagels are OK, as are their sandwiches, and breakfast entrees. Prices are high. Quality, flavor/taste and texture is pretty good. Finagle a Bagel's 535 Boylston Street store is a mess. I wish I had taken a picture of the once upholstered benches in the two booths, upstairs. There is no upholstery left on the once upholstered benches. Again, it seems that on every visit, the bathrooms (the men's and the women's bathrooms) have signs on their doors, that they say that the bathroom's are Out of Service (see the attached photos). How could that be?

LOVED this bagel place. We were staying at the Marriott Copley and it was a close walk to this bagel shop. They were packed, but able to get our orders out fast. I was thoroughly entertained with the bagel cutting treadmill too. I got an Asiago bagel with plain cream cheese and my aunt got bagel with lox. We all enjoyed our food and were excited to return.

The service was so fast and wash off the food was incredible. 10/10 recommend. And the upstairs seating is so cute, creates an amazing environment to hang out with friends.

This place was okay. I had a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and it was fine. I've had better. I've had worse. With so many things in the area, would be more likely to try something else next time.

Good little bagel shop if you want a quick breakfast or snack. We stopped in to grab a couple while we headed towards the Commons. I snagged a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese. My only "complaint" would be that personally, I would have liked a bit more cream cheese.

A good choice for a straightforward way to get food relatively inexpensively (for Copley) with a decent place to sit. I'd had a meeting near Copley Square and was headed toward Downtown Crossing but needed sustenance. Nothing fancy. I started walking and passed a lot of cool places but everything seemed to require a huge investment of time, money, and psychic space. I kept thinking, doesn't someone just do an english muffin or... and that's when I saw Finagle A Bagel. It was lightly populated and service was quick at the counter. They guy actually preparing the bagel didn't even ask for my number. It's small enough that he knew that I was the one who ordered the toasted poppy seed bagel with butter (mmm! my fave!). As he handed me my bag, I noticed a stair to an upper level, and although it's not labeled as part of the restaurant, it seemed like a good bet. I ascended the stairs with my bagel and diet-coke in hand and this is where the extra star come from. It's a large room with ample seating, tables and booths and a string of bar-like seats at a window overlooking Boylston. Perfect! And while everything was a little worn and dated, it was reasonably clean. Not sparkling but it was clear that someone who works there must police it now and then. It could be a place to get some work done. Or to just (as I did) get a bit of ordinary sustenance. My bagel was very good and perfectly buttered. Don't get me wrong, they serve all the fancy bagel sammies and other stuff, too. But it's nice to know that you can get something simple. BTW, the bagels were freshly baked and being dumped out of the pan when I entered around noon on a weekday. Yay! Add clean gendered bathrooms with a schlage lock (ask for the code) and clearly labeled and recently policed trash, tray, and recycle area, and it's a good bet for a chain in the Hub of the Universe!

The service is fast. The bagels are fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are filling. Plenty of seating in the upstairs dining hall.

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

Of course there's always a line but it moved pretty quickly, and we were even able to snag a table at the last second. To be fair, the bagel was good, if you go in with the mindset of not comparing to a NY bagel. Bagelsaurus has more crispy bagels, and it's pretty thin, while NY bagels and thick and chewy. With that in mind, if you want to compare to NY, you're not going to like this. But if you just want a bagel or breakfast sandwich, it's pretty good! I personally liked the texture for what it is, and they have good variety of bagels and sandwich options.

Bagels were perfectly soft and the schmear was delicious! I wasn't sure how I would feel about the concept of ripping the bagels and dipping it into the cream cheese, but I actually ended up preferring it - less messy and more cream cheese per bite. The bagels were very fresh (you can smell them well before you see their storefront in the suprette). You get 4 bagel options and a similar number of spreads to choose from. No seating inside, lattes were from a can, no avocado spreads just cream cheese varieties and butter. Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
