Probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The food took a very long time to be served. Part of it came early and sat for a half hour. The meal when it was finally served tasted and looked like it had been sitting for a long time. The service was as bad as the food. The waitress made it clear she didn't like her job and was annoyed with us for asking about how much longer it was going to take. Never apologized. It was crowded and we had to sit outside. The worst part was that people were smoking all around us - at their tables and in the parking lot. Made for a very unpleasant dinner. Will never go back. read more

I hadn't been here in the longest time and decided to drop in. I came with the wife for a Sunday lunch and she got the Dos Tacos with the ground beef which were pretty good. I got the Mexican Steak Tacos which were also pretty good. They had 2 for 1 Margaritas, but they were just ok as I have had way way better. Best chips and salsa! I love the salsa. All made fresh. If you like Mexican this is the place. It's corny and fun and the food is good. You won't be hungry when you leave. They have two locations. This place is screaming fun but I wasn't sure if it was screaming good food. Inside it is certainly eclectic. Food portions here come in only one size: huge. Found the food quality to be surprisingly good and the service was never a let down. Vegetarians will not feel left out as there are serveral options, vegans might not fare well here. Menu selection is pages and pages long and there are happy hour specials. Really liked the salsa selection here, right off the bat you will get mild and spicy and a basket of chips which I thought were very good. Plenty of parking and always expect a crowd. First time I've eaten here and I'm glad we stopped by. I came with my fiancé and his friends for dinner before heading off to a truck meet and I'm glad we did. Emilio was our server and he was a charm! I had the Mexican pizza which I found too stuffed and not much too my liking but I tried his carne asada burrito and it was pretty tasty! The margaritas were two for one tonight (Wed) and boy were they good! I had the strawberry first then the mango and of the two the mango was deeeeelicious! We will be coming back and asking for Emilio. BTW.......They were thoughtful of me serving this country and offered me a feee dessert! They are super cool for that! The food was literally offensive. The pollo asada that everyone raves about tastes like hot ketchup and boiled chicken. As a texan finding good mexican food in south florida has been challenging and this is most definitely not the place. We sent our plates back and just ordered appetizers and drinks. When we got the check; the food that was sent back was still on it and the manager requested we just take off what we don't want to pay for from the waitresses tip. Clearly that was not a viable option as the waitress was very kind and attentive. The manager ended up removing the charges after having our credit card for 15 minutes. I would have rather donated my $140 and ate a pack of ramen from home. Will never be returning and recommend you don't either. read more

We went here as a random selection looking for a mexican place, when we pulled in on a friday night it was packed and i figured there would be a long wait a poor service , but i was so very wrong. We were seated immediately, had 2 types of fresh salsa and chips set down immediately . The waitress was friendly explained the drink and food specials. The atmosphere was what you expect from a Mexican restaurant with cultural decorations. Hands down the most stand out part of the time there was how quickly i got anything i asked for. My drinks (alcohol and otherwise) were delivered moments after i asked. A chip and salsa refill within a minute. Most importantly my entree with a packed house was out withinh 5-8 mins of ordering. Jessica was our server for a party of six on Father's Day . We made a reservation and were seated right away . We ordered two sangrias two frozen margaritas ( buy one get one free at this time 4:00) a Modelo and a Dos Equis it took about 15 to 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive . When it was time to take our order we ordered two steak fajitas , one chicken fajita , chicken quesadilla, the steak with beanand I ordered to ground beef tacos . The tacos were probably the worst I've ever had in my life , I took two bites and that was it . One person who ordered the fajitas didn't even get tortillas with his and the woman who ordered the steak described it as "chewy" long story short we were all disappointed . The family said they came here years ago and it was delicious, one member even recognized the owners daughter so they were confused to why the food wasn't as good as it use to be ! We will never go to this restaurant again. The seats in the booths inside are old and extremely uncomfortable . The cushions have never been replaced and the springs are very irritating. It is very difficult to enjoy the food and therefore, not worth the time especially with prices as high as they are at this time. We have followed this restaurant from Boca to Lighthouse point to the current location in Deerfield, over 20 years. Very disappointing.. If you go, don't sit at a booth ! read more

I don't understand all of the good reviews. The food here is expensive but it's similar to Taco Bell. The margaritas were just ok. And it was dirty and dark inside. It's a hole in the wall and not in a good way. For two drinks, one two taco dinner and one three taco dinner, we paid $70. The beans and rice were very dry, almost stale. My favorite Mexican for years; I was once known for my proclivity to eat their honey bean burrito; however, the last few times I ate there it was absolutely terrible: bland, smaller portions, seemingly lower quality. This last trip we got the queso, which was bland and lackluster . I got my honey bean, and it lacked flavor, and the wife got fajitas, which was mostly vegetables and lacked flavor. Wowza! Such a great little colorful joint on US1 in Deerfield. Went there on a Wednesday which meant bogo margaritas and tequila shots! Cannot get better than that, not to mention the selection - you name it, they can whip it up! My group and I arrived starving. I had called maybe thirty minutes ahead to see if they could seat 7 people within the hour and politely the girl said yes. We got there ravenous and immediately were treated to multiple bowls of chips and two salsa selections. The waitress was very attentive and didn't make a big deal about everyone having separate checks. Drinks came promptly and of course we all got an array of margaritas, mine was frozen mango and very good, my favorite other was the spicy watermelon which my friend got and that was delicious too. For entree I had the pollo fajitas and omg there was so much food, I had two meals out of it. Plenty of onions and peppers, seasoned perfectly, not too salty. Accompanied by black beans, yellow rice, guac, sour cream, tomatoes and flour tortillas. Everyone else's looked delicious too, no complaints. They mango tacos looked especially appealing. Baja is easily the favorite weeknight spot in my house; we go here semi-regularly (and sometimes very regularly) on Wednesday nights. Every Wednesday they do 2 for 1 Margaritas and they are the BEST margaritas in town for the cost and quality; this is what originally brought us here but the great food and quality service keeps us coming back. Jesus is our favorite server here as he is super professional, efficient, and always there at the right times, but the entire staff is really fantastic. They work as a team and the model of service emulates that of more upscale restaurants as far as speed and attentiveness, though they have a relaxed and more casual price point & atmosphere. Food is always excellent and comes out sizzling hot (literally). Portion sizes are what you would expect- if anything they err on the generous side. A few of my favorite dishes here are the steak tampiquena, carne fajitas and when I'm not as hungry, the dos tacos. Tasty jalapeño poppers here, spinach enchiladas and burritos too. Bottomless chips and salsa hits the table almost immediately when you are seated, and they aren't stingy about it bringing more either. They have tons of margarita flavor options to choose from- I've enjoyed each flavor but always have to have the watermelon first. Margaritas are sweet but also strong; just the right combination. They can take a while if the bar is very busy, but I don't mind waiting, esp. considering that it IS margarita night when we go. Side note: they care about their customers. We ordered food to take out once and after picking it up realized that the tortillas for the fajitas were left out of the bag. The manager on the phone offered to personally drive to our house to bring them to us. We didn't accept that offer, but if that's not going above and beyond, I don't know what is.
