Okay, so first off -- the food here really is very yummy, and the portions are definitely on the bigger side. No complaints there. It's a nice spot to bring family or friends, and we did have a good time overall. My daughter even got a virgin margarita (don't worry -- virgin, of course), and she looked absolutely adorable in the picture I took. It was a cute moment and honestly one of the highlights. Also, the atmosphere got a little noisy, which made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the meal. Nothing terrible, just things I notice.

As I was waiting for my car to be serviced, I decided to stop at Baha Cafe for lunch. The staff were very friendly, stopping by to ask how everything was. I ordered the Gator Tacos and a side of Queso. The tacos had a kick to them, some spice in the sauce. The ambiance was very Mexican and the windows had art work on them which blocked out the light, it was dark inside. The bar area is very small. I feel a remodel of the interior would lighten up the inside. There are parking spots to the front and side.

I had to dowse it with hot sauce to get some kind of flavor... ugh

Ohh what a disappointment! I have eaten here with friends several times over the past 8 years and hadn't been in at least a year. My hubs and I went on a Saturday night. The service was pretty bad. They were busy but no waiting line. The Salsa tasted like something out of a jar. Very ketchupy. The chips were stale and not hot. The food was gawd awful.. they used to make a shredded beef taco in a handmade crispy corn taco shell. They sent out two shredded shoe leather tacos in a premade hard shell. The meat was tasteless and the shells were worse. The beans had no flavor, tasted like they were out of a can and the rice tasted previous frozen. To say the least, it's not Mexican food. Not much different than Taco Bell but pricier. Done.

Another favorite restaurant of mine in south Florida! Fortunately, it was not busy for a table of 4 on a Saturday night. All dishes are served with complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa is mild, but full of flavors. Server was kind and patient. I ordered a Tostada Grande (with ground beef) and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was mixed together perfectly. Restaurant is very colorfully decorated. A great spot if you're looking for affordable Mexican food!

What a treat! Our first time here & we were greeted so warmly and with such genuine hospitality I always gauge my meal by the salsa ...and the warm chips & delicious salsa get 10 stars! They have salsa verde too for $2.29 yet I didn't know there was a charge for that until I received the bill. Our lunch was delicious and we ate everything!! Look forward to our return...many times in the future!

I had to get my Mexican food fix, so arranged for dinner with friends at Baja Cafe. Perfect choice. The quesadilla was delicious and out of this world; grilled chicken and cheese; with rice and beans. Fajitas was another selection. The meat was tender and the flour tortilla warm and soft. Sauteed bell peppers and onions all joined together made for a great meal. Washed it down with a mango daiquiri. Unfortunately too full for dessert lol. Service was friendly and fast; almost seemed like we had multiple servers, if one can believe that. The surroundings, as last time, was cozy and inviting. Lots of people for dinner and at the bar area. Oh, listen to this; they have 200+ bottles of tequila for you to try out! That's unbelievable and very unique. Planning on getting some more friends together and start trying that out.

Always a delicious meal and great time when the Tex-Mex cuisine craving comes a' calling. Unlimited complementary chips and salsa kept coming and are much appreciated. We had the honey bean burrito and pollo asada - hot, delicious and fresh. Honestly, I can't recall a bad meal I've had here, and I've eaten here probably 30+ times over the years. Friendly and attentive service, and make sure to say hi to Joe the manager, who's super personable and charismatic! We hadn't seen him in a while and he brought over a fried ice cream for dessert- a sweet ending to a delicious meal.

    Delicioso!

$70 for a few drinks and bland food? Blah. Some guy who may have been the owner was creepily walking around oblivious to our needs.

We had a six o'clock reservation. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating and considering it was a holiday, we were seated around 6:20. The place was hopping as you might imagine but our group was focused on dinner. Three of us had faijitas with the fourth one going for the Burritos. I was a bit dismayed to get our food with plastic utensils but it was only going to be used for loading the tortillas so I guess that was okay. The good was served in larger portions which was great but with only 3 tortillas( we could have used 5 for all the protein.) The chicken and shrimp were prepared to perfection and overall have us a nice experience. We will be back on a quieter night to give it yet another try.

I have to say even my teenage daughter was impressed. The tacos were all great. The Carnitas Tostones is a gem. We all loved that one. Better than one we had at Fort Lauderdale By the Sea at a fancy restaurant. The service was great Andrea was on top of our needs and remembered everything we asked for. She checked in with us very often. The look inside makes you feel a burst of happiness with all the vibrant colors and decoration. And omg the music choices were all my favorite so I felt in heaven happy . Will be back to try them soon.

Hands down, some of the best authentic Mexican tacos I've ever had!…read more I stopped in for lunch at Habaneros Mexican Taqueria in Pompano Beach and was absolutely blown away. This place is the real deal. The tacos are cooked to order, so yes--it takes a little time. But wow, is it worth the wait. I had two tacos: asada and carnitas. Both came out hot off the grill with generous, juicy portions of perfectly seasoned meat. The flavors were rich and fresh, and the texture was spot-on. What really set them apart, though, were the homemade corn tortillas--warm, slightly chewy, and clearly made in-house with care. Just fantastic. I skipped the cilantro (not my thing), but the freshly diced onions added a nice crunchy contrast. And the salsas--oh man. They brought out two squeeze bottles, one red and one green. The green salsa was my favorite: cold, zesty, just the right amount of heat (about 5/10), and full of flavor and texture. The red salsa had a deeper kick and great flavor too--definitely not shy on the spice. A final squeeze of the lime wedge brought everything together perfectly. If you're in the area and love tacos, this spot is a must. I'm already planning my next visit.

We are typically seated right away, and the chips and salsa arrive almost immediately. One thing that has changed recently is their chips and salsa policy. They used to provide additional chips and salsa at no charge, but now they charge for refills. I believe it was around $3 for an extra order, which feels a little excessive. Our favorite menu item is the fajitas for two, with half chicken and half steak. It comes with six taco shells, a sizzling skillet loaded with meat, peppers, and onions, plus a plate of lettuce, pico, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything is super flavorful, and it's always more than enough food for us. I also like adding the table salsa to my tacos, although I'll probably do that less often now that extra salsa comes with an added charge. The service is consistently good and attentive, and we're usually in and out without any long wait. While I'm not a fan of the new chips and salsa charge, the food, convenience, and service keep us coming back. Overall, it's a reliable spot that we enjoy visiting.
