Chicken and crane asada, try not fill up too much

Poor showing, taco truck. I will list my grievances, since paragraph form would take too long. 1. $8 for two tiny tacos, in this economy? 2. 75 cents for sour cream that's misleadingly not included. Just tax me by the ingredient why don't ya 3. They were out of guac, eliminating 75% of the menu 4. Taco guy #1 rubs his nose with his gloved finger, continues building tacos 5. Seeing the crowd of people impatiently waiting for their food, Taco guy #2 aka the cashier steps in to build my taco. He uses his bare hands after handing wads of cash from everyone before me. Awesome. 6. 15 minutes later my 2 tacos are served 7. Tacos taste bland and they are TINY, (see pic) 8. Thanks for the 3.5 chips you included on the side, that really spruced up my meal Disappointing. This place ranks below chipotle, qdoba, mexicali, Anna's, and even Taco Bell. I know boston desperately needs some cali style taco trucks but come on, 4-5 stars is a joke. Now excuse me while I make my second attempt at dinner.

    Fish burrito and Cali burrito

I have missed burritos, especially burritos that are made like how they are in SD, CA. The owner is from SD himself! Found this truck outside of Boston Public Library on a Wednesday. I ordered the fish burrito and my friend ordered the cali burrito for $7 each. I would say the size of the burrito and the cost don't match. The portion isn't big at all, length or thickness. Being from California, I'm used to my burritos being big, and this was a baby burrito. Both were very tasty though and came with about 5 chips on the side, yes, 5. The fish burrito came with cabbage, salsa, and white sauce while the cali burrito came with carne asada, guac, fries and salsa. You can choose between either medium or hot salsa. I would give this a 3.5 stars, the food tasted good, but I don't know if the price was worth it. They also accept credit card!

I love visiting food trucks on the rare occasion one happens to be near me. So, I was really excited to try out the Baja Taco Truck when they were at the EF Carnival across from my job one beautiful fall afternoon. The line for the truck was pretty long, so I was expecting some seriously good eats. Unfortunately, I was seriously disappointed in the taste of the food. The good: The service is fast and the workers are friendly. I liked how they had the ability to take cards on their iPad, and the quality of the ingredients of the food seemed fresh. They had a decent assortment of drinks, gave the option of hard/soft tacos, and served a small side of chips and salsa to accompany the tacos. The bad: For tacos, these are pretty expensive, especially when you consider the taste of them. I ordered the carne asada taco with the chili verde sauce, and paid extra for guacamole. The salsa verde sauce was really unappetizing, the meat was low on flavor, the tortillas had a weird after taste, and the guacamole was almost non-existent. If you're going to pay extra for it, you should be able to tell it is there when you bite into it. I wouldn't go chasing this truck around the city, but you might want to try them out if they are near you because my friends all enjoyed their fish tacos. For me personally though, there are just too many places to get decent tacos in the city to really make this place worth it for me.

We walked in without reservations and they were fully booked for the night, but they do have bar seating and a couple of side tables where you can grab a quick bite from the full menu. The ambiance is a 10/10. The decor is insane in the best way. The red chandeliers are stunning, the bar setup is perfection, and the low lighting with the table centerpieces really ties everything together. Even the bathrooms were insanely beautiful which is crazy to say but it stood out. It's rare to find restrooms that are that clean and well-designed. The drinks were great. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got, but it had red sugar on the rim and it perfectly matched the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. For food, I got the steak taco and the fish taco and both were delicious. We were just stopping by for a quick bite before heading to the movies , but I really wish we could have stayed for a full meal because everything was amazing. Hopefully we'll get the chance to come back again one day.

I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. Overall, we had a nice meal and satisfied the fish taco craving.

The Seaport space is just as stunning--decked out in pink, super aesthetic, and definitely a fun, photo-worthy vibe. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. For drinks, I ordered a pitcher margarita with jalapeño, and it was disappointing. It didn't taste fresh and came across more like artificial jalapeño flavoring rather than real infusion--and it wasn't spicy at all. For food, we ordered a variety of small plates to share. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out. It felt a bit underwhelming compared to the atmosphere. The biggest issue was the service. It was very slow throughout the night, and getting the check was especially frustrating--it took about 30 minutes, and we had to ask multiple times before finally receiving it. Overall, the ambiance is beautiful and perfect for a celebration, but the drinks and service didn't match the vibe. Hoping this was just an off night.

We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!

It is a cute spot, but just a heads up that the entrance is a little hard to find- I thought I had walked in through the back door. The restaurant is actually located in the public alley, not directly on Gloucester Street. The food was really good. I am obsessed with their rice and beans. Everyone seemed to love what they ordered! However, Im taking away two stars because of our service and our waitress. When we sat down, she casually asked, "Can I get you started with chips and guac?" At pretty much every Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, that phrasing implies it is complimentary. At no point did she mention that the guac was an added charge. We later found out we were charged $16 per guac, yes because she brought over TWO (!!) which totaled over $30, which felt really misleading. If something is meant to be an appetizer you are paying for, I expect it to be framed as, "Would you like to order any appetizers?" not presented as a default and free starter. That part left a sour taste in my mouth. I would consider coming back for the food, but I would be much more cautious ordering anything they recommend.
