    Fries Chicken & Waffle
    Gene D.

This is a very popular weekend spot. While there was no line, it was definitely crowded. It is a relatively small restaurant, having both indoor and outdoor seating. The walls are decorated with sports items. It was nice having a TV nearby so I would watch a sporting event while dining. Service was first rate and attentive. Iced teas and sodas are served in a large, retro style Coca-Cola tumbler. I would recommend they provide longer straws, however. The standard ones they have are a bit too short. I was craving Chicken & Waffles, so I did not bother looking at the menu. My order came out relatively quick and looked great! Do note that the "honey" in the order comes in those quick/to-go packets. It is your basic fare as opposed to something special or artisan. The waffle itself was crispy on the outside, a bit cakey on the inside. The 2 pieces of fried chicken were moist on the inside. I could not, however, discern any brining to enhance its flavor. Overall, it was a solid dish for just $19. I would say this is a good place to visit. I would probably lean towards ordering an omelette/skillet dish in the future, though.

Standard diner with all day breakfast available. Came by while waiting for my car maintenance for a quick bite. Service was nice and fast, food came out hot and delicious. Everything was decent. Less food than expected and we finished our meal with no leftovers.

Located along Middlefield near 101, parking spots are few but available. There's a good amount of seating indoors. I also liked that they had a ventilated outdoor seating area too. Bajis Signature Omelette (5/5): so yummy. Each bite was well rationed with the ingredients being used. The bell peppers were crunchy and really added an extra layer to the texture. The flavor was just right. It wasn't overwhelmingly salty nor under salted. The hash browns were amazingly crispy. Service was great. The staff did an excellent job making sure we didn't need anything. Overall, Bajis Cafe is an awesome breakfast/brunch place. Food is phenomenal with top tier customer service.

Went bike riding and passed this place and a couple of days ago, so I decided to try it. The place is really nice with sports memorabilia, even though I only saw one warriors pic of Joe Smith. My daughter and myself had the meat lovers skillet which comes with a side of toast or pancake/waffle. My daughter got the pancake and I got the waffle. The skillet was delicious, but the waffle and pancake was very rubbery and disappointing. Overall great restaurant and the staff was very friendly.

A nice, friendly, solid American Style diner. I had the biscuits and gravy and some hash browns. The biscuits were cooked well, soft on the inside with a nice firm top/bottom. The gravy was just a simple white gravy with some sausage bits. I found it to be a little under seasoned (which I fixed with some salt and pepper at the table) and it was okay. Not the most amazing biscuits and gravy I've ever had but a some 3 star and I would eat again if in the area. The hash browns were mid and just okay. Nothing special but nothing horrifying either. The staff working there were super friendly and quick and were overall great!

    Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Best orange juice 10/10 would definitely recommend. The chicken was perfectly crispy and cooked amazingly. The waffles were perfectly fluffy and crunchy. Eggs were also great. Highly recommend Bajis Cafe.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this little diner. Went to breakfast and had a great time. The food was tasty and the service was great. The people working there tagged team the tables and made sure everyone had what they needed. They checked on us as they walked by to make sure we were good. The scene is a little dated, but it's expected for a diner. Not a bad place to grab some breakfast and chill with friends.

    Huevos rancheros

Stopped here on our way to Gilroy from SFO airport after arriving on a morning flight. While I am not a breakfast person and usually order pancakes everywhere I go, I had an California omelette with hash browns and pancakes. Daughter had chilaquiles. Would come back if in the area.

Had the pleasure to try this place after touring the Google Visitor Experience Cafe! It's about a 6 minute drive from there. Lots of parking spots. We arrived around 12:30 pm and we were sat immediately. Not that many people at first, but it was packed when we left. A homey intimate diner with personality and class. There was a miscommunication with my order because I ordered the chicken fried steak entree but my waiter interpreted it as the side order. Not much a problem but I waited about 10 more minutes until my full order was fulfilled with the accompanying sides of French roll, cole slaw, and French fries. It was very filling that's for sure. The gravy on the steak wasn't gritty but had a smooth texture and creamy savory taste that made the meat easier to chew on and enhanced the flavor. The cole slaw was okay since I wished it had more seasoning. The French fries were a bit dry so I had to season it with lots of salt and pepper. The French roll was toasted to perfection with a good amount of butter on top. Great brunch/breakfast spot in Mountain View!

I ended up going with the Wagyu Bone Marrow Burger with the Truffle Cheese Fries and Crispy Glazed Brussels Sprouts. I am definitely a texture person, so I thought that the burger would be too soft for my liking but I decided to try it anyway. Wow. Let me tell you, that burger was the juiciest burger I have EVER had in my life. I tried my best to finish it all but it was honestly too much and I had to sadly leave some behind. The fries were nothing too crazy to rave about. Yes they tasted like truffle but I wish they would of been tossed in truffle oil and had the cheese sauce on it. It needed more truffle for my liking. The Brussels sprouts. Let me tell you, they were the only thing to fully be devoured from my order at the end of my meal. They were perfectly balanced in every way: charred/crispy, salty, savory. Wow. Just wow. I would go back just for those alone. I did order a whiskey sour which was super deliciously creamy. Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. The first bites were great- wish they could have kept the crust crispier for later bites. (Heated plate works well) The beet salad was really good. Unfortunately, we left regretting that decision. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming when we were seated with our 3-year-old daughter. There was no single overtly disrespectful moment, but the overall tone and repeated small interactions made us feel like we were being judged for having a child with us. At one point, when our daughter accidentally dropped her fork while playing, the reaction we received came across as frustration, which added to that feeling. We understand not every restaurant is designed for young children, but Broma presents itself as a place for friends and family. Instead, we felt like we had to constantly manage and overcorrect normal toddler behavior, which created stress and took away from what should have been a special occasion. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

This is my second time eating here at The Flyby, and I did the smart thing - I did not bring my…read morework with me! Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
