I placed an order online #1194208 on 8/5 to be delivered on 8/10. The date it was supposed to arrive then showed it wouldn't arrive for four more days. I called customer service. They sent out a new order to arrive in two days when I checked the tracking the next day it said it would take four more days to arrive at which point the cupcakes would no longer be good again. After this happening two times, the only thing the company was willing to do was send out the order for the third time no discount. When I asked if there was anything else they could do for the inconvenience twice now in addition to them showing up at this point over a week late, the only thing they offered was to give me 10% off my next order or free shipping on my next order. I have always liked the tiny cupcakes idea from Baked by Melissa's (I followed her on Instagram and know of her story for more than a decade). But I really think these tiny cupcakes are way overpriced. To sum- they are alright and I feel like whenever I get Baked By Melissa's, I am paying for fancy packaging. The staff are nice. But it's like buying a very nice cover book with ok storyline inside. I can't justify the quality of the cupcake with it being $3.75+ each. If it doesn't taste as good as Molly's, Magnolia or Butter Lane Cupcakes, or even the tiny cupcakes from Crumbs Cupcakes from grocery stores - Why bother spending more for way less with a variety? I can justify macaroons selling at a higher price tag because they are so freaking hard to make, but tiny cupcakes? No. I can make them at home at a 1/4 of the price. Started in 2009 their initial popularity as a fad (mini cupcakes! had anyone heard of something so extraordinary! and in so many flavors!) around Manhattan this meant they grew exponentially. They have expanded nationwide now and also ship directly to you if you order online. The set up in most of their retail locations is simple--a mini-storefront* sometimes just a stand or window, with mini-cupcakes, it's a takeout-only concept, no seating. My perennial favorites are the peanut butter jelly and the mint chocolate, though the red velvet is up there too. The cupcakes are moist, cute, with a little dollop or swirl of frosting, cream, and/or other sweet item on top, some of them have a bit of cream or jelly piped into their mini centers. They offer gluten, vegan and nut-free options, and have also expanded their product offerings by adding macarons. The only thing that perhaps isn't as mini is the relative price compared to their size, a 25-pack starts at $34, and online on their website a 50 pack starts at $70, 100-pack starts at $135. If you're looking for a more filling dessert then I'd suggest getting regular sized cupcakes. *which keeps their operating expenses mini too. read more

They were just okay--nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or texture. This is my go-to Baked By Melissa location. It's not far into Manhattan which is ideal for someone who resides in Brooklyn. There's usually a couple of people on line upon arrival but it goes by quickly. The location isn't the largest but it does the job. It's pretty straight forward in terms of selecting from the various options available. The 25 pack of Latest and Greatest is highly recommended. I love to come here for themed Cupcakes such as Valentine's Day and the Spring collection. I've placed an order online for in-store pickup in the past. My order was ready without any issues. This company completely ruined the surprise as I had to tell my daughter in advance. I brought this to their attention and all they said was sorry, our website wasn't clear that dates are not guaranteed. Then why ask me for a specific date? We were extremely disappointed. This bakery came very highly recommended for their product and delivery options. We did a special delivery for a special teacher who was having his first ever theater production. Although the product was delivered the card in which we took the time to write the information that we wanted to say was not delivered with it. So therefore, he had no clue where the gift came from if it was really for him, the list goes on. This is very disappointing because we sent this gift in our absence and we wanted him to know that we were very proud of him and giving congratulations on his first ever teaching show. However, this was not known until days later when we had to reach out to see if he had even received it. At $2.75 (or soemthing similar) per cupcake, The price is very steep for the size of cake that you get. I got the Latest and Greatest sampler that comes with 25 mini cupcakes in 12 different flavors! My favorites from the originals are the PB&J (it's truly heavenly), the triple chocolate fudge (a dream) and the chocolate chip pancake (such a treat). There's three new flavors from the spring collection, and I can honestly rave that the cookie butter just melts in your mouth. The six minis went for $7. Maybe a little high, but I swear it's worth it. I came in at a time when I was the only one at the shop. The staff member was very nice but it was beyond hot in the store. I am so disappointed with this company's delivery service. I ordered cupcakes on 6/22 for my friend's birthday to be delivered on 6/26, and paid extra for them to be delivered by Monday. My friend lives 3 hrs and 15 mins from where the order was filled , but they still have not been delivered yet today 6/27. I kept checking the tracking yesterday and the order was still " out for delivery" at 10:30 pm!!
