I had a variety of Lady M cakes and I'm surprised I'm only writing a review for them now. My most recent slices were the Guava Mille Crepe and Sesame and Ti Kuan Yin Mille Crepe and it was a 10/10. I believe both these flavor is seasonal, but I wish they made it an everyday offering. It is, by far, the best option out of the Signature, Tiramisu, Pistachio, Passionfruit, and Early Grey. The slice is a little pricey for ~$10/slice but they are absolutely worth it. I don't typically get the whole cake since I can't finish it alone. My boyfriend has gotten me a slice for various celebrations and I have never been disappointed. The FiDi location is much smaller than the location across from the New York Public Library. They have no seating, unlike the Bryant Park location who have seats and tables available for a dine in service. read more

The shop is very small and there is nowhere to eat inside, so you have to take the order to go. The only complaint I have is that inside it smelled almost too clean, in a chemical way. Lady M is one of those specialty $10 a slice of cake but it is a guilty pleasure. The green tea crepe cake is unique and if you like green tea you will like it. So what I will say is that the crepe cake is quite unique. I've never had anything like it before. I've tried a few different flavors and here is a quick review on the different flavors I've tried. Passion Fruit: too sweet and tangy. It was a little overwhelming. Classic regular: it had a creme brûlée kind of flavor. It was good but wasn't my favorite. Green tea: so delicious! Oddly placed next to a huge H&M, super high end desserts next to inexpensive fast fashion. So many mille crêpes options, where a slice will cost you $10.80. A few other sweets too, also worth trying. Passion Fruit Mille Crêpes: I'm a huge fan of passion fruit, so this was a must try for me. Passion fruit is a very intense flavor so the cream and many layers of carby crêpes are actually perfect to balance it out. I ate this way too fast for something that costs $10.80! One thing to note is that my slice didn't have as many seeds as you might see in photos. Which at first I was a little upset about because it doesn't look as photogenic, but the one seed I did have gave an awkward crunch without adding flavor, so it's actually better this way. Strawberry Shortcake: Reminds me of those light cakes you find in Chinatown, except better. It wasn't just regular strawberry bits, tasted like they were macerated in sugar a bit. Great against the fluffy cake and airy cream. Not quite as memorable as a crêpes cake, but still delicious. Pink Éclair: I've eaten a lot of éclair in my day, but never really saw strawberry. Too bad because the strawberry cream filing is simply amazing! Like a Beard Papa cream puff, but in a much more delicate choux finger shape. Plus the pink frosting on top looked great. read more

Convenient location located in the Occulus but a very small shop for take out. Open daily - check store hours - open at noon and close 7 pm daily except Sunday, which closes at 6pm. Can order cakes ahead of time or just go a purchase slice to go. There are also limited time specials (e.g. Mid-autumn festival moon cake). The cakes are very light and delicious and good for a special treat. Yes, they are a bit pricey but good for a celebration or special occasion. They also sell bon bons at this location. They didn't have the strawberry swirl when I was there and the choices are limited as it gets later in the day so go early or order ahead. The ambiance of the boutique is very sophisticated. The staff was very nice and helpful. Being a fan of matcha, I got the matcha crepe cake and my friend got the signature crepe cake. They were heavenly. After going back, I tried finding a similar version of their crepe cake because lady M isn't in my location. None of the ones I tried, came remotely close to these cakes. What exquisite Mille crepe cakes Lady M has! You can feel the classiness and the expensive taste of the cakes they offer. This location in particular is very cute and cozy. The place is very white with lots of marble. Very clean and no trace of dirt anywhere. The cakes are just sitting behind a glass window. So many flavors that they carry and they even carry charcoal, which is unbelievably weird because no one really eats charcoal. I guess it's a new fad nowadays that detoxes and cleanses the body. So be on the lookout and try that flavor. This time when I went to this Lady M I did not see charcoal so it was a bummer but their website has it for online ordering. I tried the matcha green tea, sesame, passion fruit, and strawberry shortcake slices. The matcha has lots of matcha powder and the crepe feels crunchy when you bite in it. It is a good tasty feeling in your mouth. Cream is not too bland or overly sweet. It's just right. The passion fruit one actually has passion fruit seeds so it looks cute and crunchy when you bite the seeds. Sesame was alright. Came here for the first time this week! This place is super clean with nice design aesthetics. I ordered a slice of the pumpkin, tiramisu, chocolate, and pistachio to go. I was really impressed with the packaging. The box is very nice and it comes with a nice bag to go too. I'm impressed with the one guy that's working the counter dealing with all these customers. These are the creamiest, fluffiest crepe cakes I've ever tasted! My go-to order is the signature mille crepes, but when I'm feeling ambitious I'll try the seasonal menu items. The signature mille crepe cake is a classic menu item. The flavor and texture consistency are always on point. The popcorn mille crepe cake with buttery popcorn cream, topped with ganache is divine. I would consider this to be my second favorite crepe cake. I also ordered a slice of the passion fruit mille crepes. While it provided a good balance of sweet and sour, this was my least favorite of the mille crepes. I'm not a huge fan of the green tea mille crepes. The macha powder topping unfortunately dried it out. Keep in mind that the mille crepe cakes are a bit pricey and sometimes certain items are sold out before the shop closes so it's important to time your visit no later than one hour before close if you want options. It was my sister's birthday on Sunday and we stopped through to get a cake but were very disappointed in our experience. Let's start with the cashier, she didn't tell us that the cake had a dent in it. I have always loved Lady M's cakes. Although sometimes their seasonal / limited-edition flavors can be a hit-or-miss. The January special Red Bean flavor topped the cake (pun intended) and is a definite hit for me! I'm still thinking about it months after lol! However, I think their cakes are extremely expensive and when you buy them by the slice they're so small. The checkers cake was my least favorite. My very first impression of the boutique was that the people working there were really nit picky about where you stand to wait to be seated. We were standing one step too close to the door or something and they came out to tell us to scoot back. I just didn't feel very welcomed. When other people came in, and note: there wasn't much waiting space to begin with, we moved up a little so they didn't have to stand in outside in the cold, and again, we were asked to step back because god forbid we stand too close to the door. Besides having to wait fairly long for seating, the boutique itself was very modern and gave off the presence of being for the high class citizens of NYC. I would suggest you buy your slices and leave instead of sitting down. But I came for the experience. I, of course, had to order their green tea 12 layered cake because that's what they're known for and it was quite rich and flavorful. The cake was so smooth and melted in my mouth, it also wasn't too sweet which was nice because you know they are not overdoing it.
