this place was the perfect stop in the middle of my long bike ride yesterday. i had it on my radar…read moreand was going to be near, so donuts for lunch it was! they were sold out of about half of their options around 2pm but had plenty left, and they were still deliciously fresh then by then. i grabbed their last blueberry cream donut (love a filled brioche) and a caprese bun for something salty. and despite being a total coffee snob (i make my own espresso at home and even roast my own coffee beans in my kitchen!) i tried a gibraltar aka a cortado. i'm surprised i got a pic of the the caprese before i inhaled it. they warmed it up for me, and there was a mouth-watering ripe tomato in every bite. little pesto/basil with the crispy cheese. wow. perfectly crunchy and also juicy. delicious the blueberry cream was awesome. the flavor isn't too sweet, nice light fry with a ring on the outside, good gluten development... all markers of a superbly made donut. and the coffee! wow! when a bakery is good at their food options, i don't necessarily expect great coffee, but they carry verve which is a winner, and a crowd pleaser. not too dark, but still solid enough to hold up to a baked good. milk texture was spot on. overall super impressed with this place. friendly service, and they mask (yay). half a star off for no bathroom. i really wanted some soap and water after all the portapotty use of my bike ride :(

The blueberry matcha had this nice rich blueberry jam mixed in with cream that actually has a good matcha taste. The mango one was really fresh--this one was my favorite. Although they aren't cheap at about $6.25 per one, they were definitely delicious. It seems like a family run business that puts a lot of care into their products though. We grabbed an assortment of flavors, an iced oat latte, and a black sesame latte. The banana creme brulee malasada looked so good that we had to try it in the store while waiting for our drinks. The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had. We tried the black sesame latte because it sounded interesting and it was so creamy and loaded with black sesame flavor. For anyone that doesn't drink caffeine, I highly recommend you try the black sesame latte. With such great quality malasadas and drinks, it's no wonder there was a line! We'll definitely be back!

As for flavor, I didn't like red braised pork bun. The color was off and so was the flavor. It was a bag of 6 for around $14 and the buns were pretty "flat". No comment on the croissants since I didn't try them but the exterior was pretty soggy (probably from sitting out all day). The cashier was very friendly but I don't think she speaks English since she kept talking to us in Mandarin. Mandarin isn't our native language but between my dad and I, we understood most of the things she said.

Wide varieties of options to choose from. I stopped by for my regular iced cold Tiger boba latte medium size cup for $4.90. Note: my cup looked very small compared to what I'm used to getting. Did the medium sized cups shrink? The lady probably used the wrong cup size, but I'm having a good morning, so not sweating about it. However, I can easily buy beautiful and delicious slices of cakes for around or under $5 each. No lines and no crowds after 10am on a Thursday morning. Staff was helpful at front counter. The place is still much better than other retail spaces. It's a good feeling inside. I'm glad I was able to make another quick stop here. This 85 Degrees C Bakery is definitely the better place.

The matcha wasn't strong but the sea salt one had more tea flavor which I liked since it's less sweet. The barista was kind to show me all the limited edition magnets to pick from. They're all so cute, but I had to choose one per two drinks. Definitely worth coming back to this original location even though it's a bit of a drive.

I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online.
