If you have 2 hours for brunch then this is your spot. The food was really yummy, the drinks were great. The service was....eh...which is why you need to carve out a few hours. We had three different servers, all of whom seemingly thought we were their table. Each asked us what we would like to order. Not a big problem. Even so, it took 20 or so minutes to get beverages we ordered. The restaurant was pretty empty too. We ordered the Salmon Benedict which was PHENOMENOMNOMS. Also had the huevos redondos which was yummy as well. The real star of the meal was the Bloody Mary bar. $18 for unlimited bloody Mary's, but it's well worth it. read more

I would probably give this place a 3.5 for their food, but I'm rounding up because of their bottomless mimosa brunch! For $18, you can drink as many mimosas as you can before you have a food baby. I personally was able to drink about 6-7 (although I admit I was pretty buzzed at the end) and it was well worth my money because each mimosa sells for $10. One of my friends was visiting from Seattle and we all met up here to do a Saturday boozy brunch. We walked in around 11 without a reservation and were seated shortly. I LOVE the ambiance of this place. Everything is so open, the view of the marina is gorgeous, and the restaurant is beautiful. The bar is also impressive. We were sat at a roomy table with a large couch and two arm chairs, and it felt like I was eating in someone's living room rather than a restaurant because it was so comfortable and spacious. A couple of us had bottomless mimosas and one of my friends opted for the bloody mary bar (also $18) The bartender basically gives you a large cup and a shot of vodka and you can walk right up to the bar where there's tomato juice and a bunch of other things like pickles and bacon you can put into your drink. I've never had a bloody mary before so I tried my friends and it was interesting to say the least. At least the vodka shots kept coming throughout the meal. We ordered the french toast, pulled pork hash, breakfast burrito, and heuvos redondos. I thought that the food looked great, and it tasted pretty good too. Portions are decent, and plates run about $12-$20 depending on what you get so it's a moderately priced place. I had the heuvos redondos and while I liked it, it wasn't a standout to me. I preferred my friend's breakfast burrito that had chorizo in it! Because I had so many mimosas, I couldn't finish my food but I did eat most of it! Overall, I would definitely come back to this place for bottomless mimosas and walk around the beach after because I had a great time. So after our first fantastic experience we decided to go back and celebrate a birthday and to share the experience with some good friends. A complete 180 degree difference. The chef barely visited the table; the food was not presented or explained: the waiter couldn't answer any of our questions about the charcuterie board, the second drink I ordered came by the time desert arrived. There was nothing special about the night. No attention to detail, no special chef tastes- nothing. Of course the expense had not changed at all. In fact it was so obvious that they were too damn busy because of the boat parade and they kept apologizing??? Totally not how you keep customers. Came here for a company dinner. Ordered: Duck carnitas & cornmeal crepes - I usually have no interest in duck, but this duck had a pulled pork type of consistency and taste. Clam chowder - Not the best clam chowder I've had, but it was pretty rich in flavor. Seabass w/ dungeness crab cakes - The seabass was one of the better seabass' I've had anywhere. The crab cake was little on the overwhelming side. Too much butter. Chocolate cake - was like biting into a thick chocolate bar. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. We had the best time tonight! We went out hoping to find some live music and we found what we where looking for. After spending a few hours eating and socializing at Sea Level, someone mentioned that Keith Chagal was going to be playing at Baleen. We have heard him before and thought it would be fun to introduce a few of our friends to his music. We had so much fun! Keith was engaging, entertaining and by far, the most talented performer we have seen in a venue like that. The plan was to listen for a while and head to Manhattan Beach, but we found ourselves closing the place down. Can't wait to see him again!!!! read more

I was staying at the Portofino Hotel during Labor Day weekend, which is right next to this place, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. We were happy we did. We went during Saturday brunch time. The actual dinning room was full so they sat us in the lounge area which turned out to be even better because it was less noisy and the seating options were more interesting. We opted for the table next to the bar and right in front of the large open windows. The menu was small but even than we had trouble deciding what to get, everything sounded so good! Because we ultimately couldn't decide we ended up choosing three meals instead of two. My friend got the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict, which he loved. I got the Huevos Rancheros which were also really tasty. And we shared the French Toast which was covered in fresh strawberries and some kind of delicious cream. My boyfriend and I were there this past Saturday night and we had a server named Alex I think cool skateboard dude. He provided a wonderful experience. We told him it was our 1 Year Anniversary and he immediately offered us champagne!! Who could resist that? He then described each entrée and special so passionately it was hard to choose. Where do I begin? It start with a 7:15 reservation which turn into a 7:45 seating after watching several customers come in with no reservation be seated immediately. Once we were seated and another 15 minute wait the server brought us our 1 and only round of drinks and complementary waters. The hostess that made us wait almost an hour came over to explain the delays which was some BULL#&$% when other customers who came after us had cocktails and food on their table. Ok here is the deal breaker for us. They used to offer a bottomless Bloody Mary Bar. They no longer offer it and only offer expensive drinks and mimosas and $22 bombers. My girlfriends and I used to come here every now and again simply because of the bottomless Mamosa apparently within the last month ownership has changed and apparently thought it was a good idea to remove that from the brunch ! That my friend was the one simple mistake they made that will lead to their failure. There is tons of restaurants in the area that have way better food and service , just being honest , The last let's say five times I've been here literally it's only been because of the mimosas. On top of that horrific change the service was pretty poor. The place seems mismanaged and unorganized. I highly recommend this place really reevaluate their entire business structure because it's going down fast. When we were there for brunch there was maybe like four or five other tables pretty empty compared to what it has been in the past. I had been here a few years ago and it was excellent however this time service was horrible - we got seated outside in the corner with 5 small circle tables joined together and requested to be moved. We were then moved and got served our food 1 hour after our reservation time. The waiter was rude and unenthusiastic. The beautiful view was ruined by rude staff, being treat subpar and getting seated in the back, waiting one hour to receive our food and being completely unattended to during our entire visit. Food really is good...when you finally get it. The service is painfully slow. We came here 2 mornings in a row. We were hoping for the best the second day, but actually slower service than the previous day. I think someone (another waiter that we flagged down) who wasn't assigned to our table ended up taking us on. He was very nice and super attentive after our waiter completely blew us off.
