Hit or miss Its not what it used to be .. I remember my family and I would come here all the time . My last two encounters with Bambu was not that great. Ordered two drinks from Doordash and only one arrived. 2nd encounter was about 2 months ago. It was a hot day so I figured Bambu would be a nice refresher. Usually I get the Smashed avocado with rainbow jelly. ( always a hit!!) I decided to get the Bambu special this time because it used to be my go to. Upon entering the shop, I noticed that it was SUPER hot . Very humid and stuffy. It was concerning because I know some drinks have coconut milk in it and wonder if the hot weather would make it spoil faster , or even with the fruits . Perhaps I came on a day where their ac was broken or so - Long wait time as they were understaff as well. (Only mom and daughter?) And on top of that, my drink was very bland and the pandan jelly was hard .. so overall wasn't worth my time because I ended up tossing the drink Hopefully if I am in the area next time, their ac would be fixed and the drinks taste better read more

Worst BAMBU I've been to, and I've gone to many all over the US. The coconut juice tasted like it was diluted with water. The pandan jelly was soaked too long so it was mushy instead of chewy. Same thing with the red tapioca. Considering my custom drink consisted of those three things, it was a total disappointment. The other location in SJ is much better. read more

I ordered #2 Combo- red, white, mung bean, taro, pearl, pandan & combo jelly with coconut milk. Good flavor, love anything coconut. But, I found there were a lot of tough chewy pieces in my drink. My friend who ordered the same one did not have that issue. I didn't enjoy the tough pieces, other than that the drink was good. It was kinda my meal, used a spoon to eat all the goodies inside. I'm pretty much a regular at Bambu locations across Bay Area and I love Vietnamese dessert drinks but the quality of drinks in this particular Bambu location has deteriorated over the past few weeks. Maybe it's cost cutting, maybe it's the quality of ingredients, maybe they are short staffed or let's just blame it on the Pandemic! Smash Avocado drink in particular has gone from spectacular to downright disgusting. As the name suggests, it used to be fresh avocados smashed in condensed milk and a variety of jellies. But what I got today was a weird concoction of very liquidy stuff with minimal amount of avocado (not-so-fresh), jellies and a strange textured powder(maybe cream of wheat or corn starch or some weird thickening agent) which is nowhere close to the original drink. The workers here don't wear masks and when a customer called the cashier out for it, she put her mask on and then took it right off again as that customer left. Another customer ordered a smashed avocado and got the wrong order. The cashier argued with the customer saying that the customer ordered wrong. Customer ended up going home with the wrong drink. These things happened within 5 minutes of each other. When my friend and I got our drinks, the cashier put our spoons directly on the dirty counter. I love bambu!!! They've really cleaned up the place and made new menus. It looks really nice. My usual go to is the number 1 which is a lighter che with coconut water, basil seeds, pandan jelly, coconut and lychee. It's super good. Haven't been to Bambu in a while but decided to stop by after having dinner nearby. We ordered #1 Bambu Special with grass jelly and boba, mango dragon fruit tea, and avocado smoothie with boba. The drinks came out within a few minutes and overall all of them tasted great and satisfied our sweets craving. The avocado smoothie was very creamy and you can taste the avocado unlike some other places where it's mostly ice. The mango dragon fruit tea came with fruit pieces and basil seed and it was very refreshing. The #1 Bambu Special was very generous with toppings and so refreshing. The place was clean and service was friendly. It's located in a plaza so parking is easy. If I'm ever in the area, I would stop by again. read more

So when back today for Sng sa hột lựu + bánh lọt #10 (Red tapioca, grass jelly, pandan jelly, coconut milk). She said she took a taste before dinner but could not stop eating it. The Best!! Please be aware, not all BAMBU locations are equal. This location is a prime example of that, there is a reason the BAMBU on Hostetter has such a strong following. This location gives BAMBU the inconsistent and bad rap that comes with franchises. I would say the drive and visit to the Hostetter location is worth the drive and will NOT disappoint. Small example, asking for the ice on the side so you can enjoy your drink later, they will give you about an inch and a half less of juice. The Hostetter location has NEVER done that. read more

I ordered one of my usual desserts, #5 bo dam (smashed avocado) with coffee jelly only. It appears they've changed their recipe as half & half was added to my dessert, causing it to be watery. It was not melted ice. Traditionally, only avocados, condensed milk and crushed ice goes into bo dam (Bambu used to make it without adding "liquids"). Also, they added other jellies i did not want into my dessert...I'm not sure why Bambu is going downhill especially when they were the best at Việt desserts. Bambu on Aborn Road still gets a 3-star for now as their #1 dessert Che Dac Biet was still really good. I tasted someone else's dessert for comparison. read more

The drinks I got from this place didn't come close to the other branch in Hostetter. And I had the same order of drinks. I thought since they were a branch of the same store they would have standardized the quality of the products they serve. The one I had here had too much of the jelly, lacking sweetness and the ice wasn't snow like compared to the other branch. The frequency of comparison is that I had the better one last Sunday and the other "not so good" one was ordered the next day, Monday, which is not so worth my 3.75 worth of buck... I don't like che Vietnamese desserts that much but if you know what you like, then you will find a che dessert that suits you. I love pandan anything and I go with the pandan jelly with coconut milk, tapioca pearls and crushed ice. That dessert is refreshing and gives you the feeling of relaxing on a nice beach under the warm sun. The price is a bit high for you pay for the quality and they use lots of fresh ingredients. I have had some bad che desserts here but it's because I ordered ones with things I didn't like, such as basil seeds to coconut juice. I'm more of a fan of coconut milk instead. Jasmine milk tea review only. Yep, I'm very specific. Having some errands to run in this plaza this morning, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this shop was open. Even their hours posted in their window state that they are closed on Mondays. However, a printout sign at their register told me that they were open specifically it was Labor Day. I was in the mood for a drink, not a dessert, so I got the jasmine milk tea ($2.95, only seems to be available in that size) without boba. The employee prepared it quickly enough. The tea tasted fine, although it would have benefited about an hour of letting the ice melt. What I'm saying is that it was a little sweet and concentrated, you know? Still, I can't help but give brownie points for actually having convenient, reasonably priced milk tea on a date that they were presumably not going to be open. The Che is very fresh and tasty. It is the best Che i have had in a very long time. I am from Toronto and I wish we had Bambu there. I look forward to coming here every time I am in the area. I got the Che Ba Mau, which is a Che with 3 colors usually consisting of Kidney Beans, Cannelli Beans, Green Jelly & Coconut Milk. It's a pretty basic one, but I wanted to see how this place made it. It was pretty good in taste and portion wise. The price is a little pricey for my taste, since Ca Mau's shakes and Che desserts are only $2.50 versus Bambu's $3.75 P.S. Bambu is a Vietnamese Inspired Che, Coffees, Teas and Fresh Fruit Smoothies dessert place! There are pictures of the drinks on the wall which is useful when deciding what to get. It can be hard to find parking sometimes because it is located in a plaza with a supermarket. My Mom is in love with their Hazelnut Mocha. She goes here at least once a week and it takes her a few days to finish. The coffee tastes good, I would totally recommend. I normally get the Peach Tea (without the milk), Lychee Tea (without the milk), or Coconut Milk Tea. They leave a lychee inside the drink which taste great! Bambu now has the five stars program now, thank goodness. Free drinks here we come! The price for the drinks has been slowly increasing which is upsetting but understandable. read more

I don't do many review. This probably my first or second review in a long time. I have been buying strawberry tea here for many months and everything was great. However, yesterday, I had the worst tasting tea of my life here. They should tasted the tea they made for me. It was full of syrup with very little tea in it. They went cheap on the toppings and reduced the cup size as well. I did not mine if they reduced the portions, but at least make me a good cup of tea. I bought two cups and they both went in the trash. They also made me wait for ~20 min even though I called in earlier. They made my tea after I paid at the counter. I was late for an appointment. It has jackfruit, coconut and durian in it! A bunch of fruits in a cup. Basically the Vietnamese version of fruit cup! Haha This location is great since there are plenty of parking spaces! Beware the lady stand around and she make dessert for customers, she is not a cashier. On thanksgiving day I came to bought 3 , opted 2 orders number 10 & 1 number 3. I usually order their #1 specialty, which contains logan, coconut meat, coconut juice, basil and pandan tapioca. However the drink was so bland. Can't even tasted the coconut juice but more like water mixed in with sugar. Very disappointed. My daughter ordered a peach smoothie but we only tasted banana mixed with some type of fruit.
