First time to any of the Bambu branches. This location is in a busy shopping center since there's an asian supermarket. We ordered the Fruit Addict #6 and Bambu Special #1. For drink prices, I think they are expensive with arguably fresh ingredients - likely all canned. You can request changing out specific ingredients in the Bambu Special (ie, coconut juice vs coconut milk, longan vs lychee, etc). They're not too sweet. This is a relatively clean, small establishment overall, and there's outside seating available. read more

This place never disappointed me! Location: located near maxin supermarket in a popular plaza in viet town. Parking: plenty parking in the plaza. Ambience: small casual Vietnamese boba shop. Good for family/friend hangout. Drinks: drinks taste authentic. I'd call these drinks desserts rather than drinks. These boba drinks are one of a kind because they include things like red beans, coconut pieces, etc. The drinks taste refreshing. I ordered number 2 drink and did not expect boba in it, but it actually came with boba which surprised me. Their boba is chewy, which I really like. Price: fair. Last time I came here was around 2021, looked like it was under new management at the time and environment seemed older. Fast forward to today; shop has been remodeled to a more modern look. Rude, ill-manner, bad customer service: we frequent this Bambu almost every weekend. Today as usual, included in the same order, we ordered Che đậụ xanh, a kind of Vietnamese mung bean pudding along with our regular drinks; a young female staff behind the counter asked whether we wanted regular beans in our pudding or paste (ground beans) ; answered paste. When our order was ready, the staff handed out our ready drinks, however, the mung bean pudding was not what we had ordered; it was mixed with ungrounded beans and we'd like to change it as what we had told the staff. It should have been the paste mung bean, not the whole beans in the pudding! Without an apology, the staff yanked the pudding out of the hand and it went straight to the trash bin next to her on the ground! It was rude! It was done out of unexplainable fury of the staff! Hey! We didn't make the mistake. Why take it out on our pudding? You, the staff, should have listened closely carefully in the first place so mistakes on your part could have been avoided. I love this dessert place! It's a pretty small shop but it definitely gets busy. It's also really loud in here, so I don't really like hanging out and talking in this shop. Service is ok, they're usually very backed up with orders and just trying to get everything out. I love the che here. It's always so refreshing. I come here often and it's been consistent every time. Bambu is the perfect place for Vietnamese che dessert. I would highly recommend number 3. Their che is loaded with soft and chewy jellies and sweet beans that naturally sweeten the dessert. To add, they use real ingredients such as pennywort, coconut juice, etc. I feel guilt free and health conscious when I order from here. But the refreshments do not end there. Bambu also sells an assortment of refreshing smoothies and teas made authentically. Smoothies are clearly made with real fruit and not loaded with sugar like most places. And the teas are brewed to perfection where you can actually taste the tea and not pumps of flavored syrup. This place deserves a 5/5 for their quality ingredients and satisfying drinks. read more

We come here so often for Mangonada so we know exactly how it looks and taste like. They made a mistake by giving us mango smoothie. After we complained, they decided to fix it by add some tajin and mango on top. We tried to explain with them that it's not Mangonada but they forced us to take it and believe that the mango does not have the same color today. Seriously, what is a point of arguing with customer and make us believe we are wrong? Customer is never wrong. Especially we drink this Mangonada for years now. As a cool Arizonan, I used to see a BAMBU near my house, the only and solely BAMBU in Arizona. After two years, I witnessed its closure, despite having a great review (so I thought). Having a chance to work at a tech company and moved to Palo Alto, I ventured out to investigate the reasons of Arizona BAMBU's disappearance. To my expectation, I did not find single glue of AZ's BAMBU because I'm not a detective but a detective wannabe engineer. But, what I can say as a foodie girly baby is because AZ people really don't go out often like CA people here. We work and go home most often. Anyway with the bullsh*t I talked about and allow me to review my visits here. I ordered a number 2 and a number 10 before (whatever the names are) and forgot to take picture of number 2 but it's all over the Internet anyway. For my number 10, I reminded the staff to put 0% sugar or it means no sugar please. 10 came out with tons of sugar and I felt diabetic eating it. Hence, -1 star. I don't know why people enjoying che BAMBU so much, it is so overrated though, and expensive. It tastes mostly like coconut because they put tons of it in. I have to say the rest of the ingredients were plenty as well but I don't like the sweetness. read more

So for those that actually knows me know that if it ain't chocolate, it ain't dessert. After trying this place this past Saturday, I can say w/ confidence that I still live by that rule. I love Che!!! I love that the younger Vietnamese generation modernized the concept of Vietnamese dessert. You used to only get Che at a Banh Mi place or have your mom make it... But now, I love that they modernized it and add in stuff like boba, grass jelly, pandan jelly and so much more fun goodies to make it like a milk tea. I got the suong sa hot luu (#4). Love this place! Even if the drive is long and there is no freakin parking, I would drive down to Southbay just to have the #6. It is my favorite dessert on their menu. I only would order that just because it has all the I want and need and some... There are probably 30+ types of combination of desserts to choose from. You can even add some or take what you don't want or like. I always order the #6 which basically comprised of a few ingredients: the suong sa hot luu, coconut meat, two or three different kinds of jelly, the pandan jelly, and lychee and longan with coconut milk and ice. I have tried a few but I always seem to come back to my favorite... the #6. What I like about this place is simply that they are very nice and accomodating, My orders are made quickly and fresh. I'm not from the area but I stopped in with my family to get some Che for a nice cold dessert for a warm day. They have a Bambu branch over in Virginia, which I've only been to once and I got my usual - Avocado boba. But since I'm over in SJ, I wanted to try something new. I got the "Smashed Avocado" and to me it was alright but I couldn't finish it. It wasn't very sweet and didn't taste that much better after I mixed everything together. Next time I'll just stick to my usual favorite(s). My family all got #1 (Bambu Special) and they really liked that one. When I went to correct the workers and ask for the right drink, they assured me they had given me the yogurt. They explained the yogurt had been mixed with smoothie powder? Che is vietnamese desserts and there are a variety to choose from. You can also customize them. My boyfriend's mom loves to add durian to her drinks. Not my cup of tea, but I know many people who are addicted to the stuff. Since it was my first time here, I was completely overwhelmed by the variety. In the end I finally chose one of the mixed fruit ones. I was in love with the first sip! Up until now, I have only had che at restaurants or supermarkets. None of them compare to this place. Their green jellies are fantastic. It was quite crowded while we were there and I heard it's always like that, but the girl at the register was still polite and helpful. Wasnt crowded when i came here which was good since we didn't have to wait that long after ordering our dessert at the cashier. Order che 3 mau for 3.25. Not a bad price for a medium size cup. This dessert was very yummy and good among of sweetness. This dessert has red beans, green jelly, some yellow jelly i think, coconut, and crush ice at the top to make the dessert cold. My go-to is the Bambu combo, which comes with coconut milk, combo jelly (e.g., pandan, coconut), mung beans, red beans, taro puree, yam puree, pearls, and more, topped with a mound of crushed ice. Their dessert menu has all kind of desserts with coconut milk, sugar syrup and shaved ice on top. Their pennyworth and mung bean drink is very good. If you like avocado, they have smashed avocado. It's something different, give it a try and you may like it. From dessert menu, #1 to #5 are good to try. Prices are ranging from 4.50 - 5.50. I deducted 1 star from the service. The cashier was not friendly. She seemed to have a bad day. When she took my order, she didn't even bother to look up at me.
