This is my summer refresher. Amazing collection of boba teas and hot teas. It took me almost 20 minutes to decide which flavor to try as their menu is very exciting with a zillion of them. Bambu has raised their prices! What used to be $3.25 is now $3.95, boo. Also, it seems to have become a lot sweeter, which is also bad. Furthermore, their pandan jelly consistency has decreased; some are perfectly chewy, some are too hard, and some are way too soft. Some are way too thin as well. I don't know what's up with that! Bambu is still pretty good for what they offer though; their che is still the only che I consistently come back to, and I really like their #3 che, which has red bean, mung bean, taro, pandan jelly, and probably some others that I forgot about. read more

This place is favorite place for dessert! My go-tos are #4, and #5. I love their customers service. They are so nice. They always adjust the sweetness right for me while some other place told me that the sweetness can't be changed. My boyfriend is also a fan of banh lot so he loves having #10 here. Took 20 min of waiting and couldn't figure out why. Only had 3 folks ahead of me and they basically got their order within 5 min while I waited. Figured I'd be in and out since my order was next but nope got it after patron ordered his. Mind you he had a blended smoothie and iced coffee and fruit juice. This place is no good. To start, the prices don't match the quality by far. I saw the picture of the Strawberry tea and it looked real good. Strawberries filled to the top of the dome lid. So I got that. My wife ordered her drink which looked good on the picture too, my wife is Vietnamese and knows these drinks very well. So after I paid and they brought the drinks my drink was filled only up the the cup line and my wife's was not to the cup line except for the ice they packed on top. Didn't feel like complaining so we grabbed them and left. As we got in the car and drove off we drank from the drinks and it was not good. My drink tasted like nothing but syrup and not much strawberries in it at all. My wife said her drink tasted old and too sweet as well and that the long green things inside were old and none of the toppings inside were fresh as advertised. Wasted $14 on two drinks we threw away at home. If wanted nothing but sweet syrup I could've melted sugar and water and drank that! It's another BAMBU I have went to, and this one was as expected. It's pretty much grab and go for me at night. $5.5 for the Bambu Special was typical and decent. There was a lot if ice and jelly and the coconut water actually taste like coconut. BAMBU is a good place to get Che and other drinks. read more

I'm visiting from SoCal. It's super busy with lines out the door and they only allow 2 customers at a time. There are signs that state that, but there were about 3 or 4 parties in there. Desserts are pretty good with pretty good prices. I will say, they do make them much better than the locations I've been to down in SoCal. Noticeably, the banh lot and coconut milk tastes better than the other locations I've been to -- this is the only thing that kept this review from being 1 star. It is cash only though, so take note of that. The worker taking orders was pretty rude. Everyone she talked to, she "barked" at. Please? Thank you? Manners? Nowhere to be found. I noticed while waiting for our order if a customer misread or said something she didn't understand, she instantly barked a "WHAT?" in Vietnamese. She would frown and respond with a snarky response. She looked annoyed and irritated when customers didn't immediately order. Wow... okay, rude. Human decency and manners, even if it's fake while taking orders, is free, but she lacked all of that. Extremely rude. The main thing that irked me and what prompted the lower rating was that you can see into the back and I noticed the workers back there were not wearing masks. I know they're in the back and hidden from public view, but for the sake of safety for workers and for the guests' items, please wear a mask. I have been to several bambu location and this is by far the best in term of correct order and quick services! I usually comes here once a week for a durian smoothie. Other bambu location always got my order wrong. I likes my durian smoothie blend with coconut milk not half and half. This location always got my durian smoothie correct as the way I like it. There usually one person working on the counter making drink and one person on the back. I liked the girl with short hair with glasses because she always got my order 100% correct and she is super quick even though there are people ordering. I think she worked here for a long time as I often saw her at this location. I loves the durian smoothie here because it is fresh as other bambu location uses powder durian which is nasty! I am a durian girl, so I know when my durian fresh or fake! Overall, they made the best durian smoothie but make sure you asked them to blend with coconut milk instead half and half to add more flavor! read more

As for this location, plenty of parking and price is decent (not highest nor lowest) compare to other locations, but I must say I cannot stand the face of the lady (one wearing glasses) working there! No smile no nothing to customer (me) and took orders as if she could careless! Seriously?!! Did you think you will have a job or that your business will grow or even last if not for the customers?! This is the first BAMBU I've been to where the taste is not consistent with the other locations. I find the drinks here a bit more sweet, but a plus is they seem to be more generous with the ingredients in the drinks. I don't know what else to add as I have reviewed multiple BAMBU locations. I will sum it up again in this review. BAMBU is a great place for che and drinks. There is a wide variety of che and other drinks on the menu for you to try and do rest assured that all are great quality and delicious. If you're looking for bo dam (smashed avocado), BAMBU makes them the best. I like their other drinks, but I come for the che items. I highly recommend the BAMBU special and che trai cay! read more

My very first BAMBU was the one in San Mateo and I went for the boba... which was, after a ShareTea experience, only a-okay. Nothing special. This time, however, I went to their original destination in San Jose and tried che, their dessert. Spot on! I got the BAMBU Special which comes with coconut milk, glass jelly, pandan jelly, and basil seed. Looks funny, but tastes great - especially the with the frozen topping it also looks awesome. However, when we arrived I noticed that the set up is more like a boba joint. The che is already packed and stored in a mini fridge. BAMBU offers a variety of drinks. Anything from smoothie type, to slushy, to dessert ones with mung beans/lychee/jelly/boba/etc. They make a range of mixes and matches to offer drinks that are both typical AND creative/unique flavor. I wouldn't call this a "hang out spot." It's too small... crowded... endless lines... and not a relaxing place to hang out on any night... It's also very loud with the TV, music, and all the people that it's hard to have a decent conversation with whoever you come with. If I came here alone, it would just be a quick in & out. The location is in a sketchy part of town... a little run-down, dark (limited lighting), and if you're white, you will definitely stick out like a sore thumb! haha. read more

My friends and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BAMBU and can't get enough of it!!! Hot day, cold day, we'll still come here. And it doesn't matter which location it is, we love them all! There are so many varieties of Vietnamese desserts (Chè), teas and smoothies and always takes me forever to decide what I want. Our favs so far are: #1 - BAMBU Special - Young coconut, pandan jelly, longan, basil seed (the basil seeds remind me of tiny frogs eggs....but this is one of my usuals) #5 - B dm - Avocado, dark red jelly, combo jelly, pearl (a little too rich for me but good if you're hungry) #6 - Chè trái cây - Lychee, longan, red tapioca, jackfruit, palm seed, pandan jelly, jello, young coconut (another fav!) #22 - Da ht sen nhãn nhc thch - Coconut, lotus, jello, longan (I get this minus the lotus seeds) The only negative thing I can say about BAMBU is that there isn't one closer to the SF area. *sad face* read more

One of the few places where you can get good Vietnamese desserts. I can't say I care much for their regular teas but their signature desserts and smoothies are delicious. Many of their drinks are a bit sweet for my liking but it's still good. I recommend any of the first 3 items from the desserts list. For those not familiar with Vietnamese dessert can try the #3 Che 3 Mau which translate to dessert with 3 colors. Classic Vietnamese dessert with red bean, mung bean and pandan jelly. Bambu adds a couple of extra toppings but it still really good. All drinks come in one size so be prepared for a large cup of goodness. TIP: CASH ONLY read more

I'm so upset I didn't try Bambu sooner! I loved it! It was my first time there and I didn't know which one to order, so I asked the lady at the front for their suggestion. I also told them I didn't want anything too sweet. They suggested their #2 (Chè thap cam - combination) and they made it less sweet. It was refreshing and delicious. I was able to get everything out of the straw and it went so well with their coconut milk. It was like the sugary drinks you'd get at vietnamese sandwich stores, but the drinks they have at Bambu are much more tastier and has more ingredients. I'd definitely come back! Plenty of times I've been at Tacos Autlense down the road and wanted a coffee afterwards. I usually try to find Peet's and yet, there isn't one available. This place showed up in my search, so I decided to see what they had. When I arrived, they had a much better parking lot with wider parking spaces than across the street. Entering the place, the customers sitting on the love seat looked up, and unfortunately, I walked in front of the precious TV, which was unavoidable. Oh, well. It's not your living room, is it? Besides the love seat, I think that there was seating for seven. I went to see the menu, which was toward the kitchen. The first thing I noticed was that it was half in VietNamese, half in English. About that time, the woman behind the counter asked what I wanted. I ordered a number 44--caramel blend, like a Freddo/Frappé. The price was cheaper than Peet's or pretty much any place I'd been. She asked if I wanted tapioca pearls or something else, and I did not. I'd recently had coffee with tapioca pearls and it didn't seem a good combination. I used the clean restroom and the coffee still wasn't finished after I exited. It took a little more time and she handed me the drink and wished me a good evening. Every time I go to this location of Bambu, they're always really nice to me even though I don't speak Vietnamese. I always get the Bambu Combo because of the large pieces of coconut. The basil seeds are also a great addition. The only problem at this location is that there aren't many places to sit, and they're always busy, so you're lucky if you find a seat. I'm sure there are moments when they're less busy and have more seats, but I'm not that lucky. Either way, I really enjoy the desert drinks here. I'll definitely be back for more. The employees of this place is very rude. I ordered six drinks on March 24, 2018, and they didn't make it after confirmation that I was waiting for more than 30mins. When you ordered the drink, their attitudes were super RUDE, all they did was YELLED BACK at you. Besides, you cannot use card here except for cash and there is not membership points. This is really inconvenient!! Honestly, Sunnyvale Bambu is much better and Bambu at this location has their services and drinks quality went down. Three times in a row, I had to wait about 15-20 minutes for my drink since one young lady was hustling and trying to do a lot of things by herself.
