Definite breakdowns in communication between Alto and Bammel in that they received my speaker without any information on how to contact me. Communication was slow between myself and them and I frequently had to call for updates. Largest issue is that my $700 item was destroyed in shipment to me from Bammel TV. I had to call repeatedly to get them to even file the UPS claim and give me any update. Last communication was that they didn't expect to ever hear anything again from UPS. read more

Do not bring any musical equipment here to be fixed. Brought 2 keyboards here. The first one was a brand that endorses bammel tv on their website as an authorized repair service. Well they couldn't fix the first one but t was old so I can understand them not being able to find parts for it. The second one I brought in, I also brought the working spare part with me, with instructions to simply replace the old part wih the new one. Well then they couldn't even so that without giving me a list of "problems" they needed to fix. Said no thanks, ill just come take my item back. Received it in a state of disrepair wih no markings on the board for reconnecting ribbon cables so I have no idea what goes where (both times The units were in worse shape than i brought them in) Just shoddy work all around. And I feel like he just said he could fix it so be could take my diagnostic fee and then have his interns or whatever destroys electronics. Truly one of the worst businesses I've come across. Don't bother responding to me mr. Bammel because I simply want nothing more from you and I'm afraid to bring electronics within a mile of your "shop" I hope they just go out of business so people won't be drawn in and have THEIR stuff ruined too. So Part 2 of my TV repair. Turns out the review of the model sticker was not enough for the correct diagnosis, the part they said it was and billed me for took 2 weeks to arrive and then they came back to fit it and guess what, it was the wrong part. They tried desperately to convince me I need that part as it could fail soon and then they would order another new part of similar cost, circa $200 more, that they think must be the problem. I politely declined and asked for a refund on the wrong part, they said yes and 4 days later still waiting for that to be processed. So upon reflection its not worth it, they made $270 for a 5 minute visit and I am no better off. I have to stick with 1 star only sorry. read more

Even though I was advised to have a firmware upgrade to fix the problem. They didn't do it. I brought a vintage analog synthesizer for repair. Bammel TV was able to repair the instrument at a very reasonable cost. It was a long drive, but worth it since I was almost without hope that my Moog Rogue would ever function properly again. So after a panicked phone call from the wife about our fridge acting up, I did a quick search and found these guys online. Told the lady that answered that my fridge wasn't cooling and asked if that was something they worked on. She said they do and told me that it would cost almost $200 just to get them to show up and give me an estimate. I live within a mile or two! With a starting practice like that, it is amazing anyone does business with them. What happened to the good guys you could trust, everyone is out to screw you these days. read more

I did something I NEVER do. I used a service and didn't check the Yelp reviews. 1st I was charged $323 (upfront) for a technician to come out and look at my Samsung 82" TV. They tell you that $150 of that will be credited to your parts and labor charges. What they don't make clear is that weather they perform a service or not, they keep the $150. Anyway technician comes out, (he was very nice) picks up my remote to turn the TV on and is perplexed as to why it wasn't coming on. I had to tell him the TV was unplugged. Plugged in the TV and he fiddled with it a bit, told me that it could be 1 of 2 issues and said he would get back with me. The owner John called the next day to let me know that it was a probably a problem with the T-Con board and it would be at least an additional $380 (in which he says the $150 credit has already been deducted from that amount) and this maybe possibly could fix the problem but he couldn't guarantee it. l said, no I didn't think that I would go ahead with the work, and then I asked what would happen to the $150 that would go to parts and labor. John said they would be keeping the $150 I said okay if it's for parts and labor just order that part for me and use the $150 for towards the part. He said oh no the $150 goes for labor only. Wait but there is no labor? Then he said the $150 was for driving and research. If that's the case why does it then become a credit if you go ahead with the service? Didn't the technician still have to drive and do research? So what is the other $173 for? Come on John, that is real messed up. Difficult lesson to learn, but never again will I pay upfront like this. read more

I dropped off a Line 6 Helix guitar effects processor at the recommendation of the manufacturer who said they were the local service center. This was on March 23rd, on May 10th I received a call stating Line 6 had decided not to warranty the repairs and I needed to pay a $45 diagnostic fee for a repair estimate - for something they had already diagnosed as a bad DSP board. I reluctantly paid the fee and a few days later received a phone call stating it would be over $200 for the part and $130 for the labor. I declined the repairs fortunately, because I called Line 6 back and they sent a warranty repair shipping label to me and explained it was in fact a warranty issue and would be repaired for free. My assumption is they get paid more fore out of pocket repairs than warranty work so they figured they would make someone's daily wage off of me. I would not recommend them not only for their business practices, but also timeliness, and as others have said, they are rude. read more

Big mistake going there. I was stupid enough not to call prior to my 45 minute drive there and learned there was a non-refundable $149 charge to diagnose my reel to reel, but would be credited to any needed repairs. I left it there and received a call about a week later to learn the machine needed to have the switches and potentiometers cleaned for another $149. After I questioned the amount, the technician I was speaking to said it didn't look right and went to get the manager. I asked the manager about the quote and what the labor rate was. I then had to listen to some dribble regarding a 3D labor matrix and how he didn't just hire anybody of the streets - never got a labor estimate either. He even offered me a whopping 10% discount to perform the work. I also had to endure comments regarding what the original cost of the machine was and how an additional $149 seemed to justify spending a total of $300 for their work to clean it. I was told I would receive a phone call after the unit was reassembled. After 10 business days and NO call, I went to the shop to pick up my unit. Amazingly, it was ready to be picked up. I brought the unit home and in 1.5 hours and cans of compressed air and contact cleaner, I am back in business, but it cost me time and money which I should not have had to deal with. I would like that Denon replaces their authorized service partner in Houston central area. To have to pay 135$ just for looking at the equipment is not professional nor was the discussion with the owner. I went to Conroe and payed 38$ which was pro-rated towards the repairs. First, of all they charge you upfront 69.95 non-refundable and/or apply to the bill if they can fix it. Well guess what they couldn't fix it so you end up paying them. What a rip-off!!! It took so long for them to give back the VCR with the lies they kept telling me. I have a full detail review but I don't think it would fit in this review box. CJ was the person we dealt with each time and the lies of saying it was ready for pick-up when it wasn't and eventually they couldn't fix it. Then we had to wait for them to find it but we just kept patient with all this deceit. I learned my lesson I'm beginning to think since I've been in Texas you can't find honesty you have to do your research. It is very rare now days to find good service the quality as good down. Not satisfied with the customer service or the quality of service received from this business at all! My husband and I were referred by Sony to take our 55' LED (2yr old) Sony TV for diagnostic testing ($168.95) however it was a whole month later that we were informed that our TV was "unrepairable". The whole process starts off as, a diagnostic test will be performed and once the problem is identified someone will reach out to us to inform us of the problem. I did get the call saying the BATL board needed to be repaired and that the part would be ordered and I was given a quote on how much it would be and it was predicted that it would take about 1 1/2-2wks until it arrived. I felt good about getting my TV back soon. however 3 wks passed by and no call had been made so I called to check the status and was informed that the ordered part was bad that a new one had to be ordered! WELL THANK YOU FOR CALLING TO LET ME KNOW!! Another 2wks later my husband receives a call that the (new) part came in, but once it was put into the TV. that the TV. still didn't work and we were now encouraged to purchase another TV. So sounds like the diagnostic machine utilized to identify problems is not very accurate!! So not only do we STILL have a non-working T.V. we wasted $168.95!!! We will get a second opinion and if we are advised that this TV is yet repairable Bammel will hear from us again and we will advise Sony to remove them from their list of businesses to repair TV's read more

I had my Sansui G9000 fixed there and they did a great job and went through it with a fine tooth comb. It plays like new. Based on that I recommended the place to two of my friends. One of them took his G9000 there recently, rather I took it there for him, with a primary issue of dropped left channel. After he paid over $300, including the diagnostic fee, which they said really did not turn up much, he took it home. We hooked it up and the left channel did not work on either of the phono ports/selections. This was the original complaint. It is clear a poor job was done checking out the amp in the first place. Since they did a good job on mine, I know they are capable of finding issues down to the cold solder joints. It appears that quality of craftsmanship is not a priority here. To be fair my friend has not yet returned the amp to them, but my point is the amp should never have had to be returned to them in the first place. To say the least, I am embarrassed, and my friend is very upset. As to the diagnostic fee, no one should be asked to work for free. While a little high in my opinion they are very up front about the fee. One should not agree to pay a fell and then complain later that it was too high. One has the choice not to pay the fee and they have a choice not to quote a repair price without knowing exact what repair they are expected to perform. In the case of my friend the fee should be returned because it is clear the job was not performed properly. read more

The manufacturer of a tv I purchased referred me to Bammel TV and when I informed Bammel of the problem I was having (sound was muffled) they told me it would take 4-7 days to repair. After the first week passed I contacted them and they said the problem was intermittent so they were just enjoying watching our tv for the time being. I contacted them every week for a month to check the status and the last time I spoke with them was on a Monday and they said I could pick the tv up and they informed me it had been ready since Thursday. When I asked why I wasn't contacted I was told "you beat me to the punch". Once I got my tv home and turned it on not only could I immediately tell the problem hadn't been fixed but was worse than before we dropped it off. The manufacturer asked that we take it back to them for a second attempt and I refused! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! My son took his equipment in for repair. After the initial diagnosis of the problem, they sent for parts. After calling for 5-6 months and being told they were waiting on parts, the equipment was finally repaired. But then we were told that other things had to be fixed like switches. These switches were working when the equipment was taken in to the place! Also, no mention of these switches not working when they called to tell us what was wrong with the equipment. Then on top of that, they wanted to charge for cables that we didn't ask for or need. When questioned they told me that the technician asked for them. I refused to pay for these and they did remove that cost from the bill. Overall, they are overpriced, rude, horrible customer service and communications, slow, and not worth the trouble or stress to use them! Never Again!!! read more

TOTAL RIP OFF! DISHONEST BUSINESS! I took a speaker in for repair, already knowing that the tweeter needed replacing, already knowing that the current tweeter was no longer in production and two new tweeters would be needed for the speaker pair so that sound quality would match, already knowing that the cost for the new tweeters from the manufacturer would be $250 which included shipping, and already knowing that the replacement wouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes to complete. I was charged a $98 non-refundable diagnosis fee for them to tell me what I already knew, and then they wanted to charge me $390 for the tweeters and another $200 for labor if I was to replace both. To top it off, they didn't even suggest replacing both tweeters, but originally wanted to charge $500 just to replace one without even mentioning that it included the purchase of two tweeters. Anyone familiar with high end audio should know that tweeters need to match in order to obtain optimum sound quality; I wouldn't trust Bammel's work if they aren't even familiar with this basic information. I'm inclined to assume that their intention was to pocket the second tweeter without ever telling me I had paid for two. When I asked if I could just buy the tweeters myself, knowing I could get them for $250, and then just pay for the installation, John brusquely told me that I HAD to buy the tweeters through him and there was no compromising on the $140 markup. He then sarcastically told me that if it would make me feel better he would charge $250 for the tweeters and then just increase the labor charge by $140. I have never experienced such rudeness from a service provider in my life! I decided to not have them do the repair, then went to Car Stereo Max down the road where they agreed to install the new tweeters (which I will purchase myself fro $250) for $30. It's sad that I already paid Bammel $98 for doing nothing, but at least I'm not going to let them rip me off any more than that! read more

Don't walk. Run. Run away. An initial $100 deposit on a power supply issue for an acoustic guitar amp turned into a $370 estimate due to a number of other things they "claimed" were necessary. This was a scam. The other issues (as I found out later) were NOT necessary to fix the problem that needed fixed and they just wouldn't do the repairs that I'd asked for saying that all the other issues needed to be done. I didn't want to put that much money into an old amp and so with some trepidation I chose to forfeit (eat) the deposit. They put the amp back together and it was later revealed to me by a competing shop (later recommended by a friend to consider) that Bammel hadn't properly secured the power cord (leaving the bare ends unconnected) likewise causing a short and damaging a circuit when the shop plugged it in to see what was wrong. The competing shop diagnosed that problem for a $25 deposit and ultimately fixed the amp for an additional $40 (including replacing the damaged circuit). That was 5 years ago and the amp has been working perfectly ever since. Namely for $65 ($35 less than Bammel had charged me for a deposit) I was able to have the power supply issued fixed (the original issue that brought me to Bammel). read more

I took in my 55inch plasma tv because it had stopped powering on. I know that something like a power supply shouldn't be to big of a deal. (Every electronic device has one) So I gave the $100 deposit and waited and waited and waited some more. Then two weeks after placing my tv with them they give me a quote of $485! I was told that my part was so old and rare that they couldn't find it anywhere but one place and it was $385! And labor was only $100. Really.... SMDH.......... So upon me demanding my estimate and receiving part # I found the part for $59 bucks brand new. Needless to say when I shouted out Hey I found that $300+ dollar part for $59 the rep devised another way for them to try get money out of me.....SMDH!!! Long story short- UNELESS YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER ELSE TO DO, DONT GET RAPED BY THESE GUYS!! Think twice about using Bammel, 1st and this should have been the red flag, I called left a voicemail for someone to call me back for a scheduled repair and after a week, I had to call them back just to schedule a repair. 2nd. The guy I scheduled the repair with confirmed my estimate was 199.95, 99.95 for the dispatch and 100.00 towards repair. I was told by the technician that arrived that his manager would call me back to confirm if the unit was repairable this was 3/22, it's 4/20 and I decided to call and ask for updates. I was told the unit was not repairable, I asked why have you guys not called me to say so and how do we settle the 100.00, he said it's not refundable? This is very poor customer service, think twice I'm sure there are other repair shops that would take communication a bit more seriously in addition, if you can't repair equipment based on it's condition, don't keep consumers money? My Samsung washer stopped working and was leaking in August. I had purchased it through Best Buy and had a warranty through Pacific Kitchen and Home who had contracted with Bammel to fix my washer. My washer broke in August. These people came out to my home at least 3 times but each time with crazy, long delays and only after my calling them repeatedly, daily. I am not sure where the fault lies here, but Pacific should be selling warranties they cannot make good on -- I ended up buying a new washer in OCTOBER myself after being given the run around by both Bammel and Pacific and never received a follow up call from either organization to find out if they could repair or help once I stopped calling. I feel I was given the worst customer service ever and was scammed. Needless to say, I will never buy a warranty from Pacific through Best Buy again and I will never seek a repair of any sort from Bammel.
