I really hate to brag about this place because the more I brag the harder it will be to get an appointment with the amazing Dr. Butler. He's the best vet ever. He takes his time with your pooch and explains everything thoroughly. Office staff and assistants are friendly and polite. In addition, they are also very helpful. We've been taking Buck here for sometime and since we travel a great deal we plan all his visits when we're in Arizona because of this location. read more

Be very careful who you trust with your dogs. We Trusted Banfield over 2 decades. Our Doodles went in for their yearly teeth cleaning, and we almost lost one of them. Sri Mahitha GUDAVALLI at Banfield Ahwatukee was our boys doctor on Tuesday July 14, 2026 11 hours later they told us our dogs were done. We picked them up. They said they did great. We didn't receive any aftercare instructions or records. They became extremely lethargic, massive, massive diarrhea, Constant throwing up, Zero eating or drinking for days. Ended up, asking for their medical records found out they were double vaccinated against our wishes. They were given STRICT ORDERS NOT TO VACCINATE !!!!! Ended up in the ER days later. Multiple attempts going to Banfield trying to chat with their doctor and she refused to come out and confront us. We then decided to file a formal complaint With Arizona State Veterinary Medical Board. We have contacted Banfield corporate office to register a complaint and cancel our wellness plan. They are trying to make us pay $1000 to get out of our contract even due to their negligence !!!! Not once did Corporate ask how our dogs were doing ! Be very, very careful who you trust with your dogs. We had scheduled an appt online for 12:00pm on 11/11/24 in room for a possible ear infection. When we arrived to our appt we were told that our in-room appt was actually a drop-off appt. When we told the receptionist that we scheduled it as in-room appt she began to argue with us saying that that means drop-off. I was pretty upset as she continued to tell me In-Room means drop off. Despite there being options for In-room and drop-off. And our confirmation also stated it was an in-room appt. I explained that we would never have agreed to a drop-off appt due to our dog's anxiety. She then says rudely that "they tried to call" when we never received a phone call NOR a voicemail regarding our appt. And I did verify that our number WAS correct in the system. After telling her we were not comfortable dropping him off we were told we could either leave and go to another location or we could come back at 4pm. But we live over an hour away so that was not something we could do. On top of arguing with us about our appt she also began lying to us. She was lying by saying all doctors and all technicians were busy in surgery. And no one was available to see us for our appt. But 15 minutes later she was loading up a client in room for THEIR in-room appt. She continued going back and forth arguing and lying about things. Also going as far as saying that technicians do not do dental cleanings, which I know is another lie because I'm a retired CVT of ten years. And I have done hundreds of cleanings myself. I've also worked with professionals that came from banfield where they also had performed many dental cleanings. But after demanding to still be seen since we had an appt, we were finally put in a room where she said it would take over an hour before anyone would come to talk to us. When I tried to talked to her about this she shut the door in my face. Luckily we were seen 12 minutes later and our appt started without any issues. The technician and DVM were awesome and I really appreciate them being so kind and helpful. I have no issues waiting and I also understand scheduling errors as I've worked in the field prior. My issue lies with the lying and the lack of ownership to THEIR scheduling error. I also did not like the combative behavior from the receptionist. Moving forward being upfront and honest goes a long way when dealing with clients and clinical errors. I would have been completely ok with waiting hours if it would have been communicated that they made an error and were willing to work us in. Rather than deflecting and not taking ANY ownership to their scheduling issues. Also how and I suppose to entrust you with my pet when the staff is lying and refuses to take any responsibility for errors? My puppy came to get neutered and when I got home he was bleeding from his private, not the stitches. I took him to an emergency vet where he is now being held and will need surgery to hopefully fix the cut urethra that occured during what should of been a simple procedure. He is a good boy who is now suffering. Not only is this an expensive error for myself, but the suffering of my dog is unbearable to watch. He didn't deserve this. Over a month ago we called Banfield Pet Hospital to get a neutering appointment for a kitten, I had explained to them the matter is urgent because the kitten is being driven to Colorado next week. The appointment was scheduled for this Sunday. During the call they asked if we had ever been there with this kitten to which I replied NO. Last week I called the confirm the appointment at which point they said "Oh yeah, I guess you should see the doctor before the appointment" and asked us to come in today. They today said the kitten needed to have all the vaccines done weeks before neutering and they couldn't do it now. At no point during the original neutering appointment was any of this mentioned. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

Worst service. Took 4 hours and they didn't even begin to do what my dog was there for. They went to lunch and came back w no communication whatsoever besides that I needed to come back tomorrow to once again pay for an office visit to have them do nothing but talk again. Not my fault we would need to be going back tomorrow because they couldn't finish today in a timely manner and def should not have to be paying again for the lack of communication and service. They took care of Sushi today and took care of us as well. They fixed her up and made sure she was right as rain. We called a couple of times today and each time they were kind, courteous and took the time to explain in detail what was going on. Banfield Pet Hospital - Our sweet sushi - Veterinarians Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

This review is not about a specific location of Banfield, although I went to the one on 24th Street and Baseline in Phoenix. I'm writing more about their business practice. First of all, they are not good for taking your pet to if they become sick or injured, as they never have an opening. They are only good for maintenance - vaccinations, dental cleaning, flea and tick treatment and so on. One must have another veterinarian to go to if the pets get sick or injured. The only reason we stayed with Banfield for over seven years was because with the Optimum Wellness Plan, you can have the annual fee of all those services which are provided divided by 12 and make a monthly payment. Our payment for three dogs and two cats was over $250 per month. Last Friday, our beloved Flat Coat Retriever, Lilly, died. I called the following Monday to cancel her Optimum Wellness Plan and was told that I have to pay for her for the rest of a year of her one-year plan. She was now due for a cleaning which she will not get, as she has already been cremated. They first told me it was $568 cash now to get out of the contract, or I could keep making the monthly payment until her year is up! I find this is in the contract I signed, although no one pointed that out to me when I signed it, and it is worded in a tricky way. I never would have dreamed Banfield would rape me for hundreds of dollars to care for a pet who has died. I will fulfill my contract, but I canceled the plans on all my other animals. The final contract won't be up for ELEVEN months. One by one, they will drop off, and I will get all my care from my new vet. This is disgusting greed, raping families for hundreds of dollars for a dead pet we already spent hundreds AT OUR OTHER VET trying to save, then $175 to euthanize her and cremate her. We couldn't even afford to get the ashes back, as that would have been $333, and Lord knows we need the money to pay banfield to care for a dog that is dead. Nasty! banfield is no good as a vet when you need them, and will charge you for services the CANNOT perform, because you beloved pet has died. MOVE ON to a real veterinarian and don't get stuck paying people hundreds of dollars for doing NOTHING. Just nasty! read more

I was frustrated with incompetence at the Germann Rd location so I called the Banfield in Ahwatukee (after checking their glowing reviews). They looked at his chart and the Germann Road Banfield completely screwed up. One, they charged that he's been brought in because he was drinking too MUCH water and not peeing. I verified with three separate people including the vet before I left with him that he wasn't drinking water period. I never said he was drinking too much water. The big mess up was the "blood work". Turns out it was a blood panel but for Valley Fever and Lyme Disease. He had zero symptoms of those things. I'd just paid $190 for no reason. And, the included urinalysis? They never did one! I was LIVID. What the hell is the matter with these people? Ahwatukee was amazing. Got me right in (it was 40 minutes before they closed) and the people there actually listened. The vet there couldn't come up with a single reason the Banfield on Germann Rd did what it did. They catherized him and ran a urinalysis and looked at it under the microscope. Guess what? UTI needing antibiotics. The office manager even called the other clinic for me (I was too angry to call) and told them not to run the test and I'd be calling the following day (Sunday) to explain. I'll be going to the Ahwatukee office from now on. I imagine that, since you're reading vet reviews, your pets are family too and you highly value their well-being. If this is the case, go to this Banfield. I know I will be. read more

Our English bulldog Baxter has been coming here since he was 8 weeks old. He is now almost 2. Everyone is always so nice and caring. We trust them with our pup like family. We are always in their because bulldogs always have something going on. But every time has been pleasant and nice. We are happy to bring our pup here when he has to come. So about a month ago I got my puppy on flea/tick prevention and no issues. Today we took her back for her spay and we are coming home and found a tick on her!! We called them and they said they checked and didn't see one. And I doubt I'll get money back or more care to fix this issue. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PET! NO CARE IS GIVEN!!!! I would give zero stars if possible. I brought my puppy who was about 4 1/2 months into this vet because she had a large lump on her rib. The lump came very abruptly and so I thought that she potentially injured herself. The lump started to get smaller and harder, which is fairly normal for a hematoma but I wanted to be sure so I brought her in to see Dr. Organek at Banfield at 7th ave and Bell rd. in Phoenix AZ. She "examined" my dog and came out to talk to me. She told me that there was no lump and that there is nothing she can do. I said I just wanted to make sure that there was nothing seriously wrong since I have never seen something like that on my dogs and I have grown up with dogs my entire life. She said there was no lump, though I was able to still feel it. I tried to show it to her when she was talking to me and she told me that she did not see it and that the lump is "whatever I want it to be". She started to explain to me that it could be a cyst and that she can stick a needle in the lump to aspirate to send for pathology. I asked how she would do that when she claims there is no lump to begin with. She responded in a very condescending tone "Exactly, its a waste of time and money, and like I said, there is no lump, but the lump is whatever you want it to be." I have never been treated so poorly at a vet's office and I have never seen a vet who seemed less happy to be around animals. She was a miserable and unhappy woman and I would NEVER recommend bringing your pet to this facility. On top of the rude physician it was like a ridiculous three hour process for her to look at a bump. We had to wait past our appointment time to be seen, then we had to wait for the doctor to come speak to us, then we had to wait to pay. The girls at the front desk were very sweet and friendly and seem to enjoy their job but the doctor was a miserable human and they seemed understaffed. I was a little sad that Dr. Gardner moved but they got new vets that truly care! Dr. Patel just did a complicated dental on my cat and did an amazing job. She really went above and beyond to care for my sweet 18 year old cat. She is always so helpful and loving anytime I'm there or call! Dr. Kirk helped our new rescue with his severe allergies and we are so grateful to have his scabs (from scratching) clear up and be happy again! I have 2 cats and 2 dogs on plans and I have saved so much money and have had so many services for my pets! Jake is the manager and he really went above and beyond to help me with my senior cat's plan and figure out the cheapest way to get her dental work done. read more

So I go into a slight panic when my dog got hit in the eye with a tennis ball and was still doing on and off squinting with it after 24 hours- I felt like it was probably fine, but I didn't want to risk it and just wanted a professional to look at it real quick. Normally I go to the Tempe location, but they were booked up and could only do a drop off with a five hour turn around. I called around to other locations to see if there was any way I could get an in room appointment so I could just discuss things with the doctor before they just ordered testing. Everyone was booked and was only offering drop off. Then I called this location, Marci at the front desk was an absolute sweet heart. When she heard the concern in my voice, she asked me what was going on with my "kiddo", which I appreciated because my puppy is like my child, and she made arrangements to squeeze us in even though it was last minute. When we got there, the staff was awesome and explained the testing they may decide to do, what the process is, and what side effects it may cause after the fact. After taking my puppy in the back, they brought her back with Dr. Baxley, who is just amazing. She assured me my dogs eye would be just fine, she examined it and it looked healthy, she didn't see the need to go through/pay for extensive testing. All the ladies were super sweet to me and my dog, we are definitely doing all future appointments at this location! read more

I took my dog to Banfield for neck pain once in January then in February. They took xrays of his hips, then in February told me he needed to lose weight. He is a few pounds underweight if anything. I ended up taking him to the emergency vet where he was tested and diagnosed with Valley Fever. Banfield didn't even suggest testing him for valley fever. All they did was dismiss his pain. read more

I did not complete the visit and left. At least be honest....I don't appreciate the lie of omission. I love the staff here at Banfield pet hospital in Ahwatukee. They are very friendly but they really do care about my two pups. My favorite is Dr. Gardner. She really knows what she's doing. She also knows how to handle my dogs. I take advantage of the pet insurance and only pay $50 a month but it gives me a peace of mind to be able to take my dogs to the vet when ever. I do not need to spend an arm and a leg. read more

While I love the doctors and techs at Banfield the overall organization has bad business practices. Trying to cancel the wellness plans on my Dogs and cats has been a nightmare. They give me the run around on the phone. Just when I think I have it paid off I get another collection notice for unpaid fees. They also don't tell you that the wellness plans auto renew every year. They didn't used to and then suddenly the policy changed. They insist that it was in the fine print on the contract we signed. Very sad that the personnel at the actual office is going to suffer for Banfield's poor business model. They just lost my business. read more

Never, ever, will I go to a Banfield again. Especially this one. I made an appointment for my cat to be seen and their appointments were booked but said I could drop her off in the morning and they would squeeze her in between appointments. I have dropped her off at Banfield before so this was nothing new to me, however, I mentioned to them over the phone that if she could be seen sooner rather than later cause she gets stressed out while waiting in there. I dropped her off at 9am and later that day, around 1:30 the Dr. Kehoe called and said she is ready to be picked up but wanted to speak to me, so she asked me if I wouldn't mind coming at 2pm cause she was leaving for lunch. I was fine with that. I was working that day and got caught up in a meeting so I arrived around 3pm. I sat for what seemed like forever in the room waiting for them to bring her in. The doctor walked into the room with my cat in the carrier and she seemed really distressed. I opened the carrier to pick her up and console her and she was wet all over. I smelled my hand and turns out it was pee!! The doctor proceeded to tell me that she seemed more relaxed in her carrier so they LEFT HER IN THE CARRIER FOR 6 HOURS!!!!! She was supposed to have been taken out of her bag and put into a kennel with a litter box and water. I was livid!!! Who knows how long she was forced to sit in her urine! Plus she had kidney disease and she had NO water ALL DAY!!!! Dr. Kehoe called me later that night to apologize and said she felt really bad and said it was an oversight. An oversight?!?!?!? When you wake up in the morning and you have to pee, do you forget to pee? When you put your tennis shoes on, do you forget to tie your laces? When you have a baby, do you forget to change their diaper, force the baby to sit in their pop and urine and then also not give the baby any food or water??? WTF?!?!?!?!?! Now I have to throw out her carrier as its a soft sided carrier and you just can't get that pee smell out. I also bought wipes at the pet store to clean the pee off of her, and now who knows if it caused any behavioral damages where I might never be able to get her to go into a carrier ever again! This was neglect and completely unacceptable! There's no such thing as an oversight in this case and no excuses! I am going straight to corporate and file a formal complaint. If this is their standard practice of care, then I am going somewhere else! read more

Had several bad experiences with this vet office, they didn't handle our pets gently and the medicine they prescribed my cat actually made her condition worse. We live right next to a Banfield in South Mountain and that was always where I take my doggies. We got a new German Shepard puppy Molly and she immediately developed nausea and vomiting. I called every Banfield in the area desperate to get her in on an emergency basis. No one would accept her. I kept hearing: take her to a hospital- our next appt is two weeks out. Finally Ahwatukee agreed to see her same day. Dr. Gardner is the most wonderful compassionate vet and she made time in her schedule for us and she was diagnosed Molly with Parvo. Dr. Gardner provided so much support and helped us treat her at home, and Molly survived and is thriving. We won't take our dog anywhere else! read more

My 2 dogs and 1 cat are patients and there have been times that she has called me on her day off to discuss an issue that has been going on with one of my fantastic beasts. I've been going to this location for years (even before they moved from the other side of the I10). Very few times I was not happy about my visit (2-3 times) but most of the times it's always very good if not great. I refer people any chance I get because it's been worth while (money wise and experience wise) for me and my two dogs. I MUST give a shout out to Pat, she is and ALWAYS has been great. One can tell she cares to provide the best customer experience and even if something doesn't go well or you had a bad interaction with another team member she finds a way to take care of you and make it all better. They should have the Pat Training for anyone new working in Banfield. I was sad to find out that Dr Baxley went to another location because she was so great. Every interaction with her was like talking to your friend about your pet's health and one can see she truly enjoys and loves what she does. I agree that sometimes it's hard to make appointments but I think is because people come to this location because they had bad experiences in another one. Not every Bandfield clinic is the same and unfortunately, although I refer people to them I hear a lot of negative stories about other locations. I know we get a survey after each visit so I hope people are responding to those and providing feedback. I also saw the review where someone talked about Brad... so I guess I am not the only one having negative interactions with him. He is definitely rough round the edges and needs training as to how to better interact with customers. read more

We decided to do a wellness plan, and it will save us so much money during the first year of our new puppies life. No one was pushy trying to get me to sign up for the plan. I've been a customer of BANFIELD for some time. I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect, complacency and disregard until this recent visit. Kate, and Dr. Baxley were great as they always are. They were the ones I mostly interacted with during the actual visit. They are amazing, and always have been. My problem is with the manager, Brad. It began with a conversation over the phone that initiated my concern for his ability to perform his job, and his inability to be an effective manager. I was greeted on the phone, asked to hold (totally normal and reasonable). While on hold he picked up the call and said "um, yeah is this about the Chihuahua with a tooth abscess?". I politely said no, I was on hold and I'm returning a phone call. "So, you don't have a question about the Chihuahua with the tooth problem" I calmly explained again that I was not inquiring about the dog with a dental problem. He attempted to cut me off multiple times during our conversation. I explained to him I was wanting to see if an appointment opened up as my dogs were scheduled for a drop off appointment. He interrupted me many times. I tried to explain to him that I was available all day and I was able to come drop them off within 30 minutes if they had a cancellation. He responded almost immediately with "we don't have any cancellations". My response was, did you check the schedule? And he said " yes, you know you have two dogs and it's hard to get them in at the same time because we are busy". Also, I doubt he checked the schedule as he responded almost immediately. My response to him was, yes, I realize I have 2 dogs but I also realize we bring them in out of convince to keep them on somewhat the same schedule. His response: yeah we don't have any way you can get them in, oh and what are your dogs names? Clearly he did not check the schedule or even attempt to check the charts of the animals. I've not even gotten into the appearance of him while I was in the hospital. The young man needs to really take a look in the mirror and understand as a manager, you need to present yourself as a put together individual (I'm not referencing his multiple tattoos). He looked as if he had not taken a shower or combed his hair in a week. He spoke to his colleagues with disrespect, and his body language towards the young woman working alongside him was deplorable. I will continue to see Dr. Baxley however, that man will not lay a hand on my animals. He is a disgrace to your company read more

these people are funny i mean i don't understand why we gotta send our dog back in after they was supposed to give her a sanitary cut and explain to them what a sanitary cut is they should know this is a vet! they tried to tell us that they only had clippers that went to a certain hair size ummmm y'all do surgery's so i'm pretty sure you have to shave some pets bald for surgery then.....they wanna give my dog amoxicillin wich is fine but they tried charging me 167 dollars for the amoxicillin i asked for a prescription and they gave it to me and the prescription is only 60 bucks!!! come on guys! your ripping people off on the meds why would you charge that much? when you can give a prescription and save people money won't go here again...i need a vet that's trying to help us save and not price gouge us! and apparently i need a vet that can do a sanitary cut on my dog without me having to give them instructions read more

This Banfield used to be down the road at 855 N 54th St (by Cost Plus World Market), but they recently moved with the Petsmart to the Sprouts shopping center on Ray and 48th. I posted a review for the old location, but thought that it was time for an update since they have moved (they have the same great staff as at the old location). I have been taking my dog here since she was a pup and they have never let my dog or me down. Even with all the pokes, temperature taking and other things she has had to go through at Banfield, my dog is still all wags when she sees Pat at the front desk, she knows they are the good guys. I would not say she enjoys going to the vet, but she does like the people that work there. Unfortunately my dog has had a couple of big problems over the years, so I feel doubly lucky to have such a great vet (her primary doctor is Dr. Seman). Several years ago, my dog somehow ate a needle which, though some luck and the work of the folks here, was passed without requiring surgery (I won't go into how, but you can imagine). They also removed several mast cell tumors over the years, a problem we are still dealing with as my dog ages. Most recently my dog was ill, avoiding food, and vomiting what she would eat, just before Thanksgiving. They got her in on short notice, and Dr Seman put together a plan to help get her back on her feet which included fluids and a couple of injections with a switch to a low fat dog food while she recovers. Diana (vet tech) was great, she saw my dog was hunkering down like a kid about to get a booster, but she worked really hard to make the experience of administering fluids and a couple shots as comfortable for my dog as possible. All the folks I have met at this Banfield are professionals who really care about their animal patients. My dog has been on one of their plans since I adopted her and I am sure I have spent a lot due to my dog's unusual problems, but I feel they offer a good value. A few years ago, I upgraded to their plan for older dogs which appears to be very comprehensive, and includes vaccines and a dental once a year, plus some x-rays, EKG and blood and urine tests. read more

I was consistently impressed with the care my cat recieved, but the end-of-life care was so much more than I expected. The staff is so compassionate and respectful, even when the animal is gone. I did not have to leave him on a cold table - he was on a fluffy blanket and when it was time for us to go, the assistant gently swaddled him and picked him up with as much care as if he was still alive. Very dissapointing experience with Banfield overall today and this location in particular. I normally took my dog to the Tempe Marketplace location. When on the site and looking for an appoinment as early as possible I booked an appoinment at this location and provided a new contsct number in addition to changing it on the Banfield site. I get to the appoinment today and am told that they attempted to contact me ( on my old phone #) but that they couldn't see him as the Dr. had never seen Tazz before. A few things that bother me about this: most vets have never seen a pet before, so today would have been their first time seeing him. Keep the appointment! A Banfield location is Banfield! It is networked, you have access to all his records. Not seeing him before shouldn't matter at all! I waited a month for this appointment as everyone else had their earliest appts in late July or early August. Not acceptable! I think it is time to revist utilizing Banfield at all. There are many pet insurance options offered at local vets, it may be beneficial to check those out since Banfield doesnt seem to allow you to choose any location to take your pet to the Vet since the vet may not have seen them before! read more

I was a little skeptical of going to a "chain" vet, but after my sister recommended them, I gave them a try. What a great experience....the staff & vet were wonderful! also, their pet insurance is amazing! Dr. Baxley and the team at Banfield Ahwatukee are phenomenal. We had to make the very hard decision to put our sweet 16yr old chihuahua to sleep after her trachea collapsed. Dr. Baxley and the vet tech were SO caring and loving it made the process so much easier on our family. Dont't bring your pets here! Beware! They only care about taking your money accruing BS CHARGES for things they didn't really do! My pup died last Tuesday! He was 8 months. I had to pay $125 to cremate my best friend. Now calling this company to cancel this program which Ive been consistently paying $36.18 for 7 months they said I accrued over $600 in charges past the plan. The only thing they ever did was his 4/5 shots which probably cost 10-20 a piece. Which THE WELLNESS PLAN is supposed to keep your puppy alive! They slacked on giving him a 6 month booster and doing any follow up. Yet I was told they did a fecal test and other tests with in the first visit! Not true! They never disclosed any tests. I was told with the wellness plan they do those test but nothing was ever performed. They micro chipped him (which I paid out of pocket) then sent us on the way! I paid a lot out of pocket. They are liars and thieves! Don't make my mistake! After he passed I was told they would call and follow up! Never heard a word from them. I had to call them! When I did talk to someone they said there was an invoice of all these tests which were never performed! Stay away! Share My Story So No One Else Can Be A Victim Oh btw they act like its pet insurance when you sign up but then switch it up and say oh no wellness plan! I had a horrible experience with the Banfield Pet Hospital. I took my kitten in last week because he looked like he had a feline upper respiratory infection. He had a runny nose, eye discharge, and kept sneezing. I had just adopted my kitten the day before and since he had been a stray cat, he was very terrified by all of the commotion that was happening in the Petsmart. Despite clearly seeing the terror in my kitten's eyes, the receptionist took her time to do other things before helping the three people that were waiting in line. She began to help another worker with a financial question and then took two phone calls! This is all while there were real people were in line trying to pick up or get their animals checked in. I arrived to my 3pm appointment on time, but had to wait over 30 minutes to actually be seen. While I was waiting, workers came running out and frantically asked me if I had seen a small dog. Apparently, they had let someone's dog loose into the Petsmart and were running from aisle to aisle looking for the dog. Definitely not a very professional first impression. Finally, I was called into an office. The vet, Dr. March came in and looked at my cat for five minutes and said, "I will prescribe him antibiotics, come back in for a second appointment and we will see his progress." She did not really even look at him other than his face! She spent the other two minutes that she was in the room with me telling me to buy their Early Care Plus Plan. She had come in with another visiting doctor from Gilbert who proceeded to take my cat and bring him in the back for no reason or permission from me. They both kept cooing how cute my kitten was and most likely went to show other workers in the back. My kitten was obviously very frightened and the doctor just took him to the back where I could hear dogs barking and a lot of loud noises. The veterinary assistant apologized and said herself she was not sure why they had taken the kitten. The vet did not come back after that and it was the veterinary assistant who had to go back, retrieve my cat, and bring back the antibiotics. She did not explain how to use it at all, but spent the whole time trying to sell me their Early Care Plus Plan. I had to ask how to administer the antibiotics, how much to give him, whether I feed it to him after meals, etc. THIS IS NOT INFORMATION THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PROD FOR. The veterinary assistant kept saying "just read the directions on the box." I understand that Banfield is in the business of trying to make money, but it is UNACCEPTABLE that an exam that costs nearly $50 is only 5 minutes long and that instructions for the medicine that is prescribed is not properly conveyed to the owner. I went home and read the directions on the box which told me in large white letters to add 14ml of water to the bottle. I followed these instructions because that's what the veterinary assistant told me to do. JUST READ THE DIRECTIONS ON THE BOX. To my dismay, I had been giving my kitten the recommended dosage for 6 days, but saw that my kitten's symptoms were not improving much. I called in to ask about the antibiotics. The receptionist told me that the water actually shouldn't have been added because they had already done so and that the vet would call me back. When Dr. March called me back she was very unhelpful and kept saying, "I was not in the room when the medicine was given so I can't control what was said to you" and "She should have told you to read the label, not the box." HOW ABOUT YOU TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE FACT THAT YOU DID NOT CARE ENOUGH TO COME INTO THE ROOM YOURSELF AND TELL ME THAT YOU HAD ALREADY ADDED THE WATER AND TO DISREGARD THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOX. All Dr. March had to say was that she was going to prescribe him more antibiotics during his second check up anyways, and that she would just revisit how my kitten was doing then. Banfield was very unhelpful and although they were grossly negligent, they refused to apologize or take blame. I was very unhappy with my interactions with Dr. March and her colleagues and definitely will not my taking my kitten there for his second check up. read more
