Great flavors but the chicken was a little overcooked messing with the overall texture of the pie filling. The reason I came was to try a sweet pie. Ending up getting the chocolate pud'n. The pudding and cocoa whipped cream had perfect consistencies with the pudding being slightly thicker. Dark chocolate curls on top being a nice touch and everything being encompassed by the crust which reminded me of brownie brittle. Thanksgiving pies! I ordered a pumpkin and a keylime pie and they were....not great? They tasted manufactured, like mass produced I don't know how to explain it. Store bought, not from a bakery. It sadly took my husband and me WAY TOO LONG to make it to Bang Bang. The reason: I falsely ONLY knew it as a PIE shop. While this is true, it only qualifies half of its deliciousness: biscuits, quiche, and other savory foods are specialities of Bang Bang as well...and what keeps us coming back! One weekend morning, we wanted to bring an impressive dessert to a dinner party, so I looked up how early Bang Bang opened. To my surprise, it was open early AND IT HAD AMAZING BISCUIT BREAKFASTS! Needless to say, we got our buns out the door to go gobble down some scrumptious fluffy/flakey housemate biscuits and house coffee. Oh, and get the hazelnut chocolate cream pie for dinner (yes, the pie was as FABULOUS as it sounds and our dinner guests were VERY impressed)! The staff was super friendly and helpful when we came in, helping us problem solve delivery/chilling logistics between the pickup time and the actual party. They also gave helpful recommendations for new-timers! I have now gotten several biscuit sandwiches for breakfast, and the housemate sausage biscuit is definitely my savory/flavorful delight/favorite. The bacon is also delicious. And if you are looking for a lighter fair, the farmhouse biscuit has a delicious chive spread along with a hearty and delicious mixed green salads! A great way to start the weekend! We try to arrive before 9:45am on weekends, and that almost always guarantees seating. But, come later (especially during warmer weather), and be prepared for a line/wait! Prices are a bit much, but for the high quality and demand, I get it! After years of missing out, Bang Bang Pie and BISCUIT company is now on our regular breakfast/brunch rotation. Dropped the ball. Hard. We got in before the Sunday rush to Oder dine-in. 2/3 of us got food. The line begins forming--15 minutes pass before I approach the counter to ask about my order. Another 30 minutes later we got a cold, incorrect dish packed to go. The sesame shortbread of the matcha pie was a good nutty flavor but was kind of thick. The quiche was really smooth, I wish there were more mushrooms though. This place is usually quite busy but we got here just before the rush and were able to grab a seat inside. It's quite small with limited seating especially in the winter, in the summer I believe they have a small patio. Naturally, I went with the Blueberry Pistachio Sweet Pie because there's pistachio in it. As divine as the slice looked with dripping blueberry sauce with actual blueberries in it and the light green pistachio cream, the pie was DELICIOUS. The pistachio flavor was subtle but present in the most natural way; it complimented the fresh blueberry sauce perfectly. I also loved how buttery and well-balanced the graham cracker crust was. It was packed to the right density to hold everything together but not make cutting into the pie a huge mess. I wish it was acceptable to eat more than one slice of pie in one sitting!! The cashiers are almost always fun, friendly, and helpful. Order and pay at the register, take a number and find a seat. Outdoor seating is spacious and good for kids. Indoor seating is limited so if it's cold out, make sure to plan accordingly. Come early or go at a slightly off time, if you're with a larger group. Bus your own table when you're done eating. Last week, I had the chicken pot pie. It was delicious! Often, I am disappointed by chicken pot pie, but this was one of the best I've had. The pastry crust was flavorful and flaky. Not dry. And the filling had a nice consistency and was perfectly rich. We'll probably come back to pick up some chicken pot pies to freeze for the winter. And my boyfriend wants to do a taste comparison between the chicken pot pie and Hoosier Mama's, which we also love. They're different, but both great. We also always get a slice of pie for dessert and those never disappoint! This past time we got the Cocoa Mint and I was floored by how good it was! The mint had a nice flavor and wasn't overpowering. The cocoa and mint were also well balanced. I could've eaten a whole second slice! I'm only giving 4 stars because I absolutely did not enjoy the biscuits at all. They had a very strange aftertaste to me and were dry. The loaded grits are BOMB! You will regret it, if you don't get it! I've made them at home like 3 times since we ate here because it's that good! The quiche is also good. It's thicker than quiches I've had before it's also more fluffy, giving the egg flavor a prominent role in the dish. I enjoyed the crust a lot. It was flaky and buttery. I got 4 slices of pie, BlackBerry Buttermilk, Grapefruit Peach, Black Bottom Coconut and Apple Raspberry. The only one we didn't finish or really like too much was the apple raspberry. I feel compared to the other pies the flavors weren't as inspiring. But we devoured the others! I know the grapefruit peach is probably seasonal but that is the perfect spring/summer dessert! read more

Amazing biscuits and pie!! We got the biscuits and gravy with added sausage and a slice of banana cream pie. All of the food was delicious and the coffee was unexpectedly great too. I'm not usually a fan of biscuits and gravy but the one here is so good!! The biscuit is moist and buttery and the gravy has good flavor and spice. The banana cream pie was also great, it had the right amount of sweetness and the crust was surprisingly tasty too. I'm really impressed by the food I can't wait to come back for more! I walked for almost two hours to get here and it was more than worth the walking trip. It was a highlight of my whole Chicago trip and I'm pretty sure Bang Bang is home to the best biscuit I've ever had. First off--the service was amazing. Both the person who took my order and the person who delivered it were friendly, warm, welcoming, funny, and understanding. There's some outdoors seating but it is the Windy City, so the indoor seating is probably full and there may be a line. I found a nice, cozy spot in the corner to charge my laptop. The key lime pie looked simple but it was the perfect balance of sweet and sour. It was zesty but not overly-so. To complement that slice of pie, I also enjoyed the Script Biscuit. It was large, buttery, warm on the inside, moist, and didn't even need any of the butter and jam which accompanied it on the side! While the food was good, we were not greeted when we walked in and when i said hello how are you i was greeted with a blank stare. a black coffee was $5 and if you wanted a splash of milk that was an additional $3, for a total $8 for a regular coffee... there was also nowhere that indicated you were supposed to bus your own tables. i looked for an area to put dishes etc and saw nowhere obvious. on our way out we were scolded by the worker who was standing there doing nothing and told us "you need to bus your table" . sorry do i work there??? service was fucking terrible and unfortunately even tho the food was great, i will never come back due to the terrible service. i know i sound like a boomer as a 26 year old but good customer service is prettty much nonexistent these days which is audacious coming from a place that prompts you to tip 25% when you order at a fucking kiosk. would not recommend! read more

Bang Bang is the best pie I have ever eaten. While I'm sad that their Ravenswood location is still closed, the Logan Square location is open with the same good stuff. We purposely skipped breakfast to come here and have a bigger than usual lunch. It took us about 45 min via mass transit to get here and then waited in line for about 20 to 30 minutes. And it was so well worth it! We ordered the chicken pot pie, BLT biscuit and blueberry pie. Everything was so delicious and savory. We finished everything between two people, easily. The candied bacon was one of my favourite. And the blueberry pie had the perfect balance of lemon in it. Chicken pot pie was very fulsome with the filing of chicken, not like the ones that are just full of liquid. Honestly this place has the best pies, hands down!
