The interiors was something I was just in aw the whole time. They had a custom painted mural and the interior was just so new and pretty, I felt the bench and tables were also something custom. The lighting was cute and simple industrial style. The food was good! A little overpriced than your average banh mi you would get from a Vietnamese restaurant but this one was stuffed with toppings and meats that made it worth the price. I love this place. I wish they had longer hours because the food is so good! I get the tofu bahn mi and I'm yet to finish the whole thing because there's so much of it. You know when a hot and new restaurant pops up on your Yelp page, and you want to check it out, but it's always too far away for a quick visit? At least that's how we often feel in NW Houston. I was so surprised when I was looking for a quick and cheap local place to grab some lunch that this bookmarked location is RIGHT next to where I work and live. Amazing!!! I walked in thinking that this was just going to be another Vietnamese banh mi restaurant, but maybe a little tastier. I was wrong. This place is extremely clean, and extremely well designed (very hip). It is a breath of fresh air inside of what was a dying shopping center. I think this may help bring the area back to life! The facelift the plaza has given everything will help too. It looks VERY nice outside, and inside now!!! So my wife and I, and my child, walk inside and are immediately impressed by the atmosphere. We were pleased to see that the prices were in line with other cheaper Banh Mi places, and hoped the quality would match. When I ordered mine with pork, I asked if I could have a fried egg on the sandwich. They asked me if I would like it cooked or runny. Stop right there. I've never had ANYONE ask me how I would like my egg on a Banh Mi. That was impressive. Runny, of course, but then they cooked the egg to PERFECTION! Man, it was good. One thing we weren't impressed with were the spring rolls. They were pre-made, sitting for God know's how long, wrapped in saran wrap. This made the rice paper VERY chewy, and it was a bit harder to get through (and I say this with lots of experience in the spring roll category!). We tried to cut some up for our daughter, and they were tough even with a knife and fork. It didn't help things either that they forgot that we ordered them, so we were waiting and waiting for them to come out, and had to remind the staff. They had taken our number away and everything. The location has reward points, which is an awesome bonus when it's so conveniently and cheaply at my doorstep. My wife ordered a Mango shake for some extra calories for my daughter when she was having such a rough time getting through the spring roll, and it was absolutely delicious. Hello Yelpers! I come here at least once a week because I always crave their thai milk green tea! It's the first time I have ever tried that kind of mixture and since then I've been hooked! If I do eat here, I always get the lemongrass beef with rice and add a runny egg. So delicious!! I recently had their sandwich for the first time called the Banh Mi Special and it wasn't bad but I wished their bread was more fresh. Make sure you like pate because they spread that religiously on there! But overall great flavor! The place is very clean with a hipster feel. I definitely didn't expect that when I first walked in. I've been here a number of times, mostly for bubble tea. It's not the best quality or most extensive bubble tea around but it is the most convenient location for me. I usually get my bubble tea without ice because it makes it difficult to get all the tapioca out. Today they told me that without ice the cups wouldn't be completely full. I said that was fine but did not expect it to be half empty (which was the case)! Especially since I have gotten bubble tea many times without ice here before and never had a noticeably not full cup. I have been waiting for a month for this place to open up. It's located in a kind of run down shopping strip off west road near the beltway, but don't let the appearance fool you. The decor and interior of this place is surprisingly very nice and updated. The staff were friendly and were fast with service.They have a grand opening special $5 for a banh mi, egg roll or chips plus an ice tea. 3/5 Banh mi- the veggies are fresh but the banh mi lacked much meat if you ask me. The flavor of the pork was a little sweet for my liking. However the char on the pork was spot on. 5/5 egg roll- it wasn't greasy and filling was seasoned just right. 4/5 ice tea- I had a choice of black or green (sweet or unsweet) I picked for it to have half the amount of sugar. It was fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. 5/5 spring rolls- these were perfect. You can't beat 3 for $4. The size and flavor were 100%. The peanut sauce was the right consistency and flavor. The wrapper was not dry. The shrimp and pork were fresh as well as the veggies/noodles. These were my favorite item from my visit today. I will be back to try another type of banh mi but I for sure will be back to try a Thai tea and grab some more of those delish spring rolls. Updated: The regular prices aren't worth the food. Decided to try this new place instead of my usual Vietnamese restaurant and I'm glad I did. Food was good. I found the pork to be a little chewy, but most likely because of the time of day I visited. I was really impressed with the portion size, price and how you get TWO egg rolls with the meal. Green tea 4/5- refreshing and good however a bit too sweet with even 50% sugar Milk tea 1/5- pretty bad ... I saw them make it. It was black tea and regular milk poured in. I've been to many boba places, owned one and even worked at one back in the days and never seen whole milk poured in. I mean that is an option but most places just use non dairy creamer. Super excited to have a boba place near my house! I'll need to update my review as soon as I try one of their vermicelli bowls. We stopped one afternoon to scratch a boba itch and found out that drinks are Buy 2 get 1 free between 3-7p every day. We got the almond milk tea, chai milk tea, and Thai milk tea. All 3 were as good as any bubble tea spots in Chinatown. What I liked the most was that there wasn't too much ice! I saved the Thai milk tea in my fridge till the next day and it was still really good! Service was super fast and if I were in high school this would totally have been where I hung out. This place a great lunch spot that has a very nice decor. The inside looks more like something that should be down near Washington. The sandwiches use slow dough and are well done. The rice plates are my go to and the pork and chicken are both great. I always add an extra pork patty, this is a must get imo. An egg over easy and a pork patty on a rice plate are the way to go. I came here after living in Wisconsin for two years and not having any banh mi designated shops other then the pho restaurants that sell banh mi. Today I decided to have the special and the bread was fresh and crispy and all of the meats were delicious. Really enjoyed this and reminds me of Orange County! Me and a friend of mine checked out their sandwiches and the bread was quite fresh. The pork was sweet but moist, flavorful, packed with flavor. Used to grow up not far from this area, and there was nothing really good in terms of Asian food around here back then. Now after about 10 years, I moved back here with my husband and son, it's changed quite a bit! There's enough good Asian options around so we don't always have to trek down to Chinatown to eat! So far I've mostly had their boba drinks, but have also tried the beef lemongrass (which is tasty) and meatball banh mi. My favorite is the meatball Banh mi, which is what I always go for at my favorite Chinatown hole in the wall place, but I feel most other places make this too greasy or won't give enough meatballs. This place gives generous sized meatballs, and it's well done and tasty! The bread is perfect too because it's crispy but not so hard like a rock where it hurts your mouth to bite into it. Favorite drink here so far is the Thai green milk tea or the passion fruit black tea. Their setup inside is nice, quite trendy (although this doesn't matter to me so much as I like how quiet the place is if you want to sit there to read etc). I grew up eating banh mi so I will prefer these delicious sandwiches over Subway sandwiches any day. For those of you who don't know, typically a banh mi consist of juicy layers of roasted pork, a rich schmear of pâté, a smattering of crunchy, punchy pickled vegetables, and a loaf of bread that's totally unique in its construction. With my love for banh mi, you could only imagine how happy I was to find out about Banh Mi ETC. My first thoughts were this place is going to be very Americanize, which I was not wrong. I will say that there are some blends of the Vietnamese flavors in the sandwich. However, I was sad they didn't have my favorite Banh Mi sandwich, Banh Mi Dac Biet, so I ended up ordering the Grilled Pork Banh Mi and an iced Black Milk Tea with Lychee Jelly. The sandwich was satisfyingly crunchy and savory. I had to bring in the heat with some sriracha drizzled in it. I thought the sweet iced milk tea was an excellent choice to accompany this meal. This place is good, but be careful when you get a to-go. I've dined in and gotten to-go orders, but everytime I've gotten the tofu vermicelli bowl I've never gotten the two eggrolls that it was supposed to come with. The first time I didn't say anything because mistakes happen. This time I called them out on it and I was told since it's not meat, per se, that it doesn't get the two eggrolls. That didn't seem fair to me and I told them that their menu said that the vermicelli bowls come with two eggrolls. The cashier apologized and told me that she can talk to the manager or something about it, but I didn't want to do that. It's about the principle.
