They also come on the French Roll if that's your preference. The baguette was crisp but not very bready so is a good option if you're looking for a less carby sandwich. The fillings were plentiful with the assortment of sandwich meats, pate, and mayo. I was looking for a quick bite on the way to the movies and this sandwich really hit the spot. One of my go to banh mi places in 626! I've only tried the Dac Biet on the french roll so I cannot say that it is better than the baguette. I wished it was more distributed since the meat and pate are more on the inside of the sandwich than the outside but overall very tasty! The bread was a good-sized French roll with a good crunch. They were a little skimpy on the butter, but maybe you can ask for more? The special had cold cut slices and pate, very, very tasty! I would definitely order this again since both my husband and I enjoyed it! Nem Chua $9.00 for 10 pieces -- I usually love nem chua - they're just so good! I grabbed some last-minute, which were conveniently located next to the cash register, and ate them right away after I got home. Unfortunately, the meat smelled like it was going bad. I understand that nem chua is made from cured pork and thin strips of cooked rind, but the smell was a little off - it seemed like the pork wasn't cured correctly and was going bad. I still ate it because I'm like, I'm not going to throw this away, but it was definitely a gamble. The smell eventually faded slightly after placing them in the fridge, but I would not order this again. Seating: One table with a few chairs available, so this is more of a grab and go kind of place! Parking: The lot was so packed during lunch time, but fortunately, there were a couple of reserved Hue Thai Parking spots right in front of their store, so it was a breeze for me! I stopped by two popular banh mi shops in Rosemead on a recent Tuesday morning - first time at each spot. Hue Thai is a no frills spot located in a large plaza with ample parking. I ordered a grilled pork and a beef banh mi. There was a line before me and after me. I could see them wheel racks of dough around so I was excited to try their fresh bread. The banh mis were delicious and satisfying. The baguette was smooth-chewy, meat was well seasoned and the separately packed pickled veggies had just the right crunch and tartness. No peanuts. I had purchased a grilled pork and a beef banh mi from another shop 20 minutes earlier. In a side by side comparison, I noticed big differences in baguette texture and meat portion. I usually prefer crusty-airy baguettes like what's offered at the other shop, but this time I enjoyed the smooth-chewy texture a tad bit more. I love when I hear about hidden gems in my city, then I run down and go try them. I heard this place is cash only and has great banh mi so I came down to order a pork one. I liked how they have alot of pre-made goodies about, like typical banh mi spots. I was short cash-wise, but luckily I carry a coin purse and was able to cover the whole thing. Their Pork Bao is good. The Bao is moist and not so dry. The meat is flavorful. It's not salty nor oily like there's a bunch of fats mixed in there like some other places that makes it.
