    Bahn Mi

This place had a steady stream of people coming in and out at lunchtime. It's a small location, but there's a counter to sit and eat at which was nice because it was so hot outside. The bahn mi was very flavorful and the bread seemed fresh. I do wish they had put more jalapeños inside it, im wondering if they misjudged me and my tolerance, but it happens. I would let them know next time if I come back and try more things.

As my Mom and I were leaving Vikon Center in Rosemead, she caught Banh Mi My Tho shop at the corner of her eyes. I asked her what "My Tho" means. She said it's a city name in Vietnam. Now I am curious on all the words after "Banh Mi". Btw, "Banh Mi" means sandwich in Vietnamese. Parking lot is quite tiny with maybe 15 spots, but we got lucky and snatched one spot upon arrival. Street parking may be available though. It's a small sandwich shop with a few tables/chairs outside and limited table and bar stool seating inside. What I find oddly interesting are the dried up plants at one corner of the wall. Not sure if they just wanted to put something there to take up space... at least have lively plants. They were super busy. Gentleman staff was okay. Menu is limited to sandwiches and cold/hot drinks. They also sell snacks and other dry goods on the side. I got 2 banh mi - 1 dac biet special and 1 grilled pork plus 1 Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Wait time was a tad longer than expected. Strangely enough, a couple customers who ordered after me got their orders before me. I had to walk up to the counter to inquiry about my order. The gentleman immediately handed my order to me without calling my number. My order was just sitting on the counter. Hmmm? Hence, 4 stars. Coffee was quite strong, but good...very authentic stuff! Banh mi were out of this world delicious! They took it to a whole different level. It was the lemongrass flavor that made it golden. Bread was light and crispy. Tons of meat with fresh veggies. SO FLAVORFULLY GOOD! Yes, I'll be back. May I receive better timely service next time. If you haven't tried Banh Mi My Tho, the time is now. Go get them elevated banh mi!

Oh myyyyylanta! This place is Sooooo busy. I've never seen such a crazy line for viet banh mi to Go. I stopped by on my way home just to see what this was all about and I will add, call ahead! They are efficient and prices are typical. I guess they can charge whatever considering they're this popular. Place is small, parking sucks, but I found parking on the street.

Stop number five on a SGV Bahn Mi food crawl! I arrived early in the morning for their highly regarded grilled pork sandwich. They have multiple locations all across the SGV which is a good sign that they are a local favorite. The store was clean and the staff, friendly. They sell a ton of other grab and go Vietnamese goods by the counter which seem to sell well and quite fast, so if you're looking for that, come early. Bahn Mi My Tho is my top pick for Thit Heo Nuong or Grilled Pork Bahn Mi. The pork was perfectly seasoned with a delicious lemongrass flavor, was slightly sweet and very tender. The addition of peanuts and green onions adds additional complexity while the fresh and pickled veggies offer the perfect balance. I very much enjoyed this sandwich and is one I would definitely get again!

So happy I found this neighborhood banh mi spot! I knew it was going to be great when it was full of local community members. I got the grilled pork banh mi and a small Vietnamese iced coffee for a total of $12! The sandwich was so good, authentic and fresh ingredients. The staff were very friendly, and my order was ready in less than 5 minutes. I ordered to go, but there were a few tables inside and outside to eat there. Easy parking in the plaza.

This was my second visit to this location. I believe I came here pre-COVID, as the spot seemed vaguely familiar. I believe this is their second location. I wanted to buy my coworkers lunch, and the closest Banh Mi My Tho is closed on Wednesdays, so I came here because they're open every day. This is their biggest location with the most space, offering both indoor and outdoor dining. Vietnamese music plays on the TV, enhancing the authentic atmosphere. There's one large table and chairs, along with some colorful lights on the wall. However, it was quite dark inside, possibly due to the tinted windows and lack of natural light. The staff are bilingual in English and Vietnamese, and I noticed many older locals ordering, which makes me believe this is an authentic spot. I ordered two egg rolls ($1.13 each), a meatball skewer ($3.64), six #2 Grilled Pork Banh Mis (thit heo nuong) ($7.50 each), and one large Vietnamese Coffee ($5.01). I requested less sugar in the coffee, as my wife thought it was too sweet, but I won't make that mistake again - she barely drank it, and now I'm stuck with a rather bitter coffee! The meatballs and egg rolls were great and just as good as the ones at the original location. The #2 Grilled Pork Banh Mi (thit heo nuong) was okay; the bread felt a bit stale and too crunchy. It fell apart, as you can see in the photo. It wasn't very fresh, in our opinion. The pork flavor was very light, and the jalapeños lacked spice. We weren't in a rush, but we waited quite a while, and several people who ordered after us received their food first. One person ordered 2-3 banh mis about 10 minutes after me and got theirs before mine. While I understand a larger order takes more time, the order prioritization could be improved. I also noticed some miscommunications between the staff and customers. This location doesn't run as smoothly as the others, so I'll likely stick to locations #1 and #3. It's ironic that I crave Bánh Mì Mỹ Tho on Wednesdays when #3 is closed. Here's my ranking of Banh Mi My Tho locations: 1. Bánh Mì Mỹ Tho #1 2. Bánh Mì Mỹ Tho #3 3.Banh Mi My Tho Vietnamese Sandwich

My favorite banh mi place in the SGV for their grilled pork. Small store in a small plaza. Few seats outside and a counter inside if you want to eat there. The grilled pork has great flavoring and comes with a nice ratio. The butter they use goes perfectly with the pork. Bread has crispy outside. Their dac biet special banh mi comes with the Vietnamese deli meat and some grilled pork as well. Their coffee is strong with condensed milk. I usually order through the phone and avoid the wait. Quick and easy pick up

10/11/25 Saturday Stopped by around 1 PM and there was a small line but it moved quick like your typical no frills banh mi places. Ordered a few sandwiches for a hike. Also got a ln iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. You can also order black. It's pretty strong though. Sandwiches tasted good even the next morning. Recommend having the veggies in the side though if you plan to not eat it immediately. There's seating indoor and outdoor. Plenty of parking.

If you live in the SGV, you know Banh Mi My Tho is the OG spot. Including this location, there's should be a total of 3 spots now with the original spot in Alhambra. Good selection and good prices. Recommend their special and their Vietnamese meatball banh mi - all veggies inside so you don't have to get your fingers dirty. If you want to try something different, try the Vietnamese meatball one; 10/10. They sell other items as well: vermicelli, broken rice, egg rolls, meat ball skewers, sticky rice, sweets, etc. Do expect to wait as they do get busy. They do take phone orders. They take card. Good amount of parking but if parked, street parking available.

Came on Monday & the cashier that took our order was nice & greeted us with a big smile! I love the banh mi special here & it's $7.5 which is such a great meal. The veggies taste fresh & has the grilled pork has so much flavor!

This place is awesome for someone who wants a quick bite. Their Grilled Pork Bahn Mi is flavorful and contains great texture. The service here is quick and efficient. There Milk Tea boba could use a little improvement but not bad for the overall price. Inside you could find some seating but it's very limited. There's great parking outside the business. When i walked in they were playing throwback r&b music which is always great to vibe out to.

My first time trying veggie banh mi and it was interesting. Not bad at all. You can definitely taste the taro in it. I also had the cold cut banh mi which is my favorite one and it was super delicious and very packed. Good pate and a nice amount of pickled veggies. Ordering was a bit awkward the person taking our order was a bit stand-off ish.

    Summer rolls.. very good

The good, especially the Banh Mi, here is excellent. Great prices, fast, friendly and efficient service. Literally everything is good here: Banh mi, summer rolls, Banh Bot Loc, drinks, sausages... oh, and their Vietnamese coffee too! Very happy!!! A great place to grab some lunch plate ( broken rice plate for $10), or a sandwich... freshly made to order -- flavorful, fresh ingredients, snd great prices. :)

Ask the Community - Banh Mi My Tho

Did they change the type of bread they used or something recently? It looks and feel different.

I have noticed that if you go an hour or two hours before closing, the stuff in the sandwiches are less. And they use whatever bread they have in the kitchen if they had ran out of the ones that they normally use.

Do I need to stand in line if I ordered on the phone?

Yes! Even if you call in your order, you have to wait in line ☹️

Is this the same as the one on valley?

Yes, it's the same family business.

Do they offer any Buy 2 Get 1 Free Banh Mi promo like BM shops in Westminster?

No, they don't have this type of promo

Is it me or is this location better than the og one?

They are the same, except the chicken (og is shredded chix and this new one is chunky). So it depends on your taste buds for chunks or shreds. I prefer shredded because it's more juicier. I go to both locations depending on my nearby moments.…

Main concern was the hairs we found in our food. When scooping out sauce, there was a hair that was in the chili oil jar. It was quite long and wavy and was mixed into the chili flakes. When we picked up the spoon, we saw it and pulled the hair out from between the clump.. I didn't take a picture at first excusing that it happens since it's a public condiment. However, I did take a picture of the second hair. I ordered the signature Pho and after a few bites, as I pulled up more noodles, I saw this quite long and kind of gross hair entangled in my noodles. Hopefully it's not from where I think it came from but as a guy, the shape and texture of this hair doenst look like it comes off your head. This being in the soup that comes from the kitchen and is most likely shared by anyone who orders pho is a bit off putting. We did not complain since it was closing time already by the time we got our food and I didn't want to hold them up any longer. It also is not my hair because the hair on my head doesn't look like this. I'd eat here again in hopes that hair in our food doesn't happen after this.

That's right, 5 minutes. Although I did go around 9:50AM so there wasn't a line nor another party in the dining area. Food: I woke up craving Vietnamese and this place didn't disappoint. The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.
