Don't be fooled by all of the social media and influencer videos. They make this place look incredible online, but please don't fall for the hype like I did. At first glance, everything looks amazing. They have a good selection of meats and toppings, and it all looks fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, that's where the experience ends. Once I actually tasted the food, it was one of the biggest letdowns ever. Nothing about this place tasted Mexican whatsoever. The chicken was incredibly salty and bland just like the rest of the ingredients. The rice had a strange flavor that reminded me more of Middle Eastern rice. Every topping lacked seasoning, and the only thing I could actually taste in the bowl was the cilantro. Even the salsas/chiles were gross and had an off putting garlic flavor to me. Spent almost $16 on a sad and flavorless bowl. Although Chipotle is stingy with their portions, I have to admit that their food at least has flavor. I'd honestly recommend Chipotle or Cava, over this place. They have much better flavor and more affordable prices. I don't recommend Baqba at all and won't be coming back myself.

Emily girl!!! If it weren't for Emily this experience would've have been as great as it was. From the gecko the greetings, the experience, the food, the whole restaurant was fantastic. I give it 100/100. Emily made sure to explain and answer every question we had. She advised us that we could sample the meats and she took the extra step and even brought us a little taste of the baqba steak. So much flavor, so tender. Cooked to perfection. I was sold from when she said "it just has a different seasoning, more flavor". I got the bowl with white rice, black beans, baqba meat, corn, cheese, sour cream, and the green sauce they have. AMAZING! Chefs kiss forsure. The portion was perfect, and I was definitely satisfied with every bite. My hubby got the same but chicken and he downed the whole bowl. We even ordered my toddler a mini burrito and upon ordering we noticed the flour tortillas were made there! Again, delicious. Nothing beats this place. This is a good drive for us, but it's worth every mile. The restaurant itself is so clean. Emily was cleaning the entire time we were there. She even mopped. If felt like a real mom and pop place forsure. Thank you Emily for the best experience here, and thank you to all of the staff who helped us and made our experience one for the books. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK SOON!

I got a Baqba Steak burrito with guacamole and a mixed cheese quesadilla with half Baqba Steak and half chicken. I also got two sides of sauce, honey habanero and cilantro. Service was quick. The staff was super friendly. The portions are huge. Everything I had was super delicious. The meat was high quality and well seasoned, and both of the sauces made my burrito and quesadilla even better. Overall, it was a delicious meal, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Baqba is decent overall. The food is good, and the portions are definitely bigger than what you usually get at Chipotle but the prices are also higher. Once you compare it to ordering double meat at Chipotle, you're getting about the same amount of food for roughly the same price.. Wouldn't exactly call it a hidden value play. The staff was friendly and the service was fine, but the restaurant itself was HOT. Sitting inside felt less like eating lunch and more like being placed in a terrarium. I would highly recommend getting your food to go. Overall, the food was good, but nothing really stood out as being above average. It's worth trying if you're nearby and want a filling meal, but between the pricing and the indoor reptile habitat, it's probably not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

One of my coworkers suggested I try Baqba in Rialto and I was almost about to make the trip (because was RAVING about how delicious and how GENEROUS the portions are). Little did I know, I was happily surprised when I saw they opened on closer to me in Montclair! Being yelp elite - I always take a quick look at the reviews and I did see that this place usually has a wait (FOR GOOD REASON BY THE WAY); so, I decided to place and online order! When arriving, our order was being wrapped and ready to go - quick & painless (I was pleased!) I decided to order the steak arrachera bowl & it did NOT disappoint! The meat was tender and they were VERY generous with the portions! I was able to eat it was 3 meals haha! After trying this, I'm never going back to chipotle again. Baqba is extremely authentic and worth the hype! I'll definitely be back! Pro tip - the cilantro crema was DELISH!!

The flavors of the meat was top tier, the chips were even better. I could actually stop in just for the chips and guacamole as a snack at any point... For some reason the rice was lacking and I even ordered less for the fact that that's been a general consensus. I liked the level of heat and flavor from the red salsa as well as the choices. Tortillas fresh pressed also could be cooked slightly more but that are goooooooood. My expectations may have been too high which is the reason for the rating... a little bit of fixing for the white rice, flavor on the beans and I hope for real pina for the food would top it off. Servers were friendly, inside was bright and lively. New spot so always packed and busy with a line at any given time.

So incredible that they're expanding and rightfully so. I just hope they're able to maintain the same quality control and customer service. But as it stands, Baqba is basically the authentic Chipotle, except every aspect is bigger and better!!! The portions here are easily double the amount and the quality never feels sacrificed. Customer service is top tier too. We came on Memorial Day and there was a sizable line but it moved relatively quickly. They were even handing out meat samples and water while people waited which was such a nice touch. The steak arrachera is my favorite and their fresh flour tortillas are absolutely top tier. This specific location is also super clean with plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. This is definitely the IE's pride and joy right now.

4.5 stars! Finally got to try this place since there was, for once, no line. As soo. As you come in, you get the chorus of "welcome" by the friendly staff. For me, sometimes that can be too much. The set up is meant to build your own bowl or burrito. I decided to go for a bowl and my friend got a burrito. The guy warming the tortillas recommend the arrachera or al pastor. I went with 1/2 & 1/2. I really enjoyed the arrachera meat. It was seaoned well. Did not really care for the al pastor. It had too much of the clove or cinnamon taste for me and a little sweet. This place does not play when it comes to the portion size. Everything is huge. They have various sauces to choose from, but not knowing the spice levels, I went with medium (which was pretty mild imo). I also got some of their cilantro salsa and a side of spicy. The spicy has a nice kick, without being too spicy and has a decent flavor overall. I also liked the cilantro salsa. I would recommend trying this place out if you're in the area.

Baqba Mexican Grill just opened here in Montclair, and its a hit! Constantly busy for great reason! Humongous portions with a great taste that doesn't dip because of the amount of foot traffic. Inside, there's an ample amount of seating for dining in. There's also music playing and cool designs all over the wall. The service is awesome as well! I don't know how they wrap these burritos.... they're huge. Overall, I'd rate it a 9/10, definitely my go-to after the gym now!

Mixed burrito, steak and pastor. Meat lacks flavor. Tortilla was very thin and elastic. Huge portion but lacked flavor throughout. Wife got a salad bowl, very little lettuce. This place blows chipotle out of the water! I literally crave this burrito the day after I finish. My wife picked up the food and it was chaos and service was not that good but it's a new place with new staff. They will get better. I can't wait to come back again. Best burrito/bowl ever and I'm telling all my friends to come. It's a great place but background music is too loud couldn't hear my wife. Their social media page is great though. Come here you won't regret it.

Baqba is a great spot if you're looking for something similar to Chipotle but with its own unique Mexican flavors. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I loved being able to customize my meal, and the ingredients were high quality. The staff was friendly, and the service was fast. If you're craving a delicious, casual Mexican meal, I definitely recommend giving Baqba a try.

Went here on Friday and I think it was 2 days after they had their soft opening. They handled the long line like champs!! I've never been to the Rialto location and decided to go to this location because it was way closer. I'm happy I did. The staff members were extremely welcoming, consistently checking in on us waiting in line, and making sure that we got everything we wanted as we went through the line. They also had music playing and the place was extremely clean and organized. Me and my boyfriend ended up getting 2 burritos, a bowl, a side of guac, a side of queso, and chips. For the entrees we had the chicken, carnitas, and birria. Everything was amazing!! No complaints anywhere. I'm an extremely picky person and decided to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. I'm so happy I did. So now we're planning when to go back read more

This place is good, line gets long at peak hours. You can compare it to Chipotle, but fresher ingredients, price point is the same as if you would order extra meat at Chipotle, if you don't get extra meat then this place is more expensive. The portions are the same as Chipotle, with the only difference being the meat portion, which is way more here. I don't think you can ask for extra portions here without paying extra though. read more

The food is made fresh and it's actually seasoned unlike the other bland corporate store with the same concept. The people making the food are efficient and they actually do it with a smile. They also dont skimp on the ingredients. The burrito I ordered was enough for me to buy once and break into 3 meals for the day. The only con I have with this place is the location and the limited parking. It's just a bit too far from any other reason to go in that general area and parking can be a problem if you go during lunch time but they offer online ordering so you can still get in and out quickly if you have a passenger. read more

So I didn't know this place just open up in Montclair .. but they are good like better than chipotle or other places . The portion are good . The meat is super juicy not dried out and is flavorful. This will be my new place instead of driving to CH to Rialto .. I tend to go after lunch to beat the rush. The staff are nice also so that's a plus . read more

I was excited to try this location after having eaten at the Rialto location last month. Well this location was not the same. The girl who made my bowl must have trained at chipotle because it looked like it pained her to put any toppings into the bowl. Total bummer, because I saw all the other people getting great looking burritos and bowls. Not worth the money today. Will not return to this location. read more

We went on grand opening day on 5/2/26. I didnt know what to expect, my first time here. Saw it on social media and it looked delish. I had the bowl, hubby had a burrito and we shared a nacho. We only ended up eating the nachos there becuz it was so filling (had the burrito and bowl the next day). Omg, their meat is so good (had pastor, arrachera steak, steak sirloin) and the portion is ridiculous (in the best way), their burrito is so big. The staff were great, friendly and they are so efficient. Shout out to Frida who was a great host, going around the tables (customers) giving out samples and making sure you were taken care of. Definitely coming back here! So excited to try the tacos next. :-) read more

Food quality is really good but I went there a couple times in the beginning and they used to give you way more meat. They're definitely giving less meat now and the inconsistency suck. I got four bowls one of them was considerably smaller with all the same ingredients. Not to mention a ridiculous line took almost 40 minutes to get through. If they just had another person helping to make tortillas it would've made it go so much faster. read more

WOWZERS! This place was SOOOOO GOOD! I heard so many great thing about this place, but at first I didn't believe it because they compared it to my goat Chipotle. My friend Max kept us waiting for THIRTY MINUTES before we left then it was ANOTHER 30 MINUTE DRIVE to get here, so me and my merry crew of 6 were absolutely FAMISHED. We got in line, and IMMEDIATELY we were offered free samples of meat and free water bottles. Our tortillas were pressed FRESHLY in front of us. They gave us an ENTIRE 2 SCOOPS OF MEAT. My burrito was the same weight as my newborn baby, who I dropped to hold this new conglomerate of meat and veg offered for the low low price of 15 dolla. I'm confident just the SIGHT of this burrito could kill a Victorian child (in a good way). When we sat down, Emily was kind enough to offer us limes and salsa via table service (god bless her soul). Overall, 9.9/10, would come again. read more

This location is more spacious than the original. It's very clean and the staff is helpful. I was pleasantly greeted by Cory with some samples. The food still hits like the original. I prefer the Steak Arrachera. I got it in a bowl with a tortilla on the side. Glad to have some quality food closer to where I am. read more

We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

A few minutes later, another couple walked in, asked for a booth, and was seated there without any issue. That immediately made us feel like we weren't valued as customers. It was Taco Tuesday, and we were excited to see fresh tortillas being made. Unfortunately, instead of serving fresh tortillas, they opened the container holding older tortillas and plated those for us. We ordered three different meats, but when our food arrived, every single item was cold. The tortillas were so cold they had become hard and stiff instead of soft and fresh. When we mentioned it to the staff, we were told the food gets cold because they have a fan blowing directly toward it. That's not really an acceptable explanation Between the inconsistent seating, poor customer service, and cold, flavorless food, the experience was extremely disappointing. We left feeling unwelcome, and the food itself was far from the authentic Mexican cuisine we were hoping for. Sadly, we won't be returning.

I came on their grand opening and it was awesome! There was a line but it went so quickly! While we were in line they offered waters and samples. The food is delicious- I got a chicken bowl.
