Had an amazing brunch here with a group of 7 girls, the end of a bachelorette party. The views and vibe at incredible, and the food was delicious. They offer a brunch menu (with a breakfast burrito and pizza) and the regular menu. Highly recommend the Crispy Cauliflower Harra! You'll have a view over all of Savannah in three directions and garage door windows that open to let the sunshine and fresh air pour in. We made reservations in advance as we had a larger group. Note that they're not able to accommodate gluten free. Our service was a bit incoherent -- waiters kept forgetting what we'd ordered and asking us again -- even though we were almost the only ones there. Not super quick. read more

Place is super yummy in my opinion. The pizzas are the way to go I opt for the mushroom pizza they offered. Their bread recipe is very original in this town and can be enjoyed with Mediterranean dips they offer! I'm excited to see where they go with it! I live across the street and come here often. The food here is great, but the bar staff is consistently rude. My friend and I came for a pre-dinner cocktail on Saturday and were rudely turned away due to the fact that my friend from Russia did not have her passport with her in addition to her ID. When the manager told us that they couldn't serve us due to "Chatham County Laws", we decided to go to the lobby bar and guess what?! They served us just fine. :-) I feel that we were unfairly targeted and profiled from the beginning of ordering at the bar because I too am from an obscure place (New Mexico). This is not the first time I have been treated poorly for this reason here. We are 24 year old women and it was a terrible start to our fun weekend plans. We went to their NYE black and white ball and it was fabulous! Great venue with beautiful outdoor space and views of the city. Fireworks at midnight. The party itself featured a great DJ with a perfectly sized dance floor. Full bar all night long with many bartenders and champagne flutes were passed around before midnight. Staff was truly wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The included appetizers and desserts were good but I wouldn't rely on it for a full meal. A small intimate deck facing the city and river with another deck facing out of town Get there on a weekend at least and hour before sunset to get a spot- compared to the service we had at rooftops on River Street, this was impeccable. What the heck happened to Bar Julian?! Has been our go to place to drink and eat and number one place we recommend to friends and our Airbnb guests for all three years. But we went yesterday and learned that as of Wednesday May 22, the menu changed as well as the portions. No longer very vegetarian friendly let alone vegan. In addition the Mezze platter has become pathetic: delicious bread but only -- a stingy smear of hummus, of yogurt and muhammara -- certainly not enough to share. A few olives and two small dolmades. For $28!!! Gone from the platter and menu are the macarona almonds and falafels. The crudités were a few cucumber slices and way too much not-fresh watermelon radishes (which, frankly, should only be used as garnish). Again - $28?!! The pan roasted chicken (a new item) was okay, if small, and could have used more flavor. The pizza is still good. Wish we could say that about the rest of the menu. Until they bring back items that my vegetarian wife and vegan daughter can eat (like the everything goes, fatttoush and pomegranate salads and crispy cauliflower and falafels and almonds) we won't be back and can't recommend. We are sooooo disappointed. The view is still great as was the service. read more

Bar Julian is overall quite good. The food tends to lean towards middle eastern. The mezza platter is very good, the whipped feta that comes with it is by far the star of the appetizer. That said the dish is 28 dollars, but you'll notice across the board that the bar-restarunt can be a bit pricey. I would add that the fresh bread they use for quite a number of thier dishes is pretty awesome, but if you're carb conscious your options might be a bit limited. The best part of the place I'd say is the view. I've been to every rooftop bar in the city and Bar Julian beats em all, hands down. Myrtle and Rose is a very close second. I reccomend giving this place a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Waitress wasn't friendly and it took awhile to get sat even though it wasn't busy. They kept walking by and looking away from me, it was super odd. She dropped the check off mid meal when I was going to order desert and another drink as well. But I guess she helped me stick to my calorie intake so that was a plus haha. I don't understand how I was able to reserve the time when the restaurant clearly had a private event. Sent this email 4 days ago with no response. I called as well and was told someone would call me back and I still haven't received a phone call. Good evening. My husband and I attended your NYE event a few days ago and we wanted to email you because we were unfortunately disappointed with a few things that night. We felt for over $400 for the both of us that we did not get the value for what we paid.  I have to say that I did enjoy the drinks and the old fashioned station along with the gorgeous views. However, the food was very lacking as well as the DJ.  We expected for over $200 each that we would be blown away by the food as well and this was certainly not the case. The party as you know started at 9pm, but we waited until about 9:45 or 10:00pm before we saw the flatbreads brought out which was apparently the main entrees for the night.  The minute they were set down, the vultures swarmed in and unless you are watching the station like a hawk, you get slim pickings.  On the other side of the bar was what was supposed to be a charcuterie station. The entire night I only saw one or two oysters on the shell laying in ice, a few lone pieces of salami, and some grapes. I never saw anything more than this at that station. Remember, we paid OVER $200 EACH and this is what was offered.  Hor Dourves were passed out throughout the night very scarcely and included cold soft bread with a paté that was not good at all, some cheese sticks, and only once we saw fried falafel.  Later I noticed dessert was placed out in a small corner section by the bar. I only noticed because I saw someone else walking with what looked like cookies. The dessert consisted of the most dry unflavored brownie I've ever had and an assortment of little cookies that I could have picked up from the  publix bakery.  Towards the end of the night champagne was passed out. We were expecting the DJ (which never hyped up the crowd even one time by getting on the mic) to start the countdown. Instead the attendees had to rely on their phones to know when to countdown and we did it ourselves.  The DJ did nothing to hype up the night besides stand there and play music. No countdown, no auld Lang syne, no really great music for the mood, it was a let down.  We were staying at the JW Marriott, but instead of attending the rooftop bar party they had, we thought we would have a more fabulous night at an all inclusive event. We were sorely mistaken.  Had we paid half the price we did or less, maybe we wouldn't be so disappointed. We definitely did not get the value we paid for which is why we were not happy.  I ask that we at least receive a partial refund for a night that didn't deliver what was offered. We were even told there would be some sort of pasta bar and we never saw this. We certainly didn't expect to be scrounging for tiny pieces of flatbread all night.  I hope you can understand our concern and accommodate us in this situation. My daughter and I were so excited to check out this bar/restaurant on our trip to Savannah. We went in, were seated right away and then were completely ignored, for probably 20 minutes. We were spending a long weekend at the Thompson Hotel and arrived late on a Thursday night. Not wanting to venture far we went to the rooftop bar looking for sustenance and we weren't disappointed. Gorgeous views of the river and the sunset with indoor and outdoor seating. We grabbed two seats at the bar so we could watch the goings on and chat with other people dining. There were several vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. We enjoyed our food so much we came back the next night for a few appetizers. All in all we tried the zaatar seasoned potato wedges and roasted squash pizza our first night and the muhamarra roasted red pepper dip, oven bread, and crispy cauliflower harra the second night. We didn't ask if there were vegan cheese options so just went with the preparations as listed. Our favorite dish was the crispy cauliflower and the red pepper dip. We went for cocktails at sunset. While the views are beautiful, and the cocktail menu impressive, the service was terrible. The only positive interaction we had was with the hostess. Ten minutes passed before one of the servers acknowledged us and took our order, with an air of annoyance. It took about another 15 minutes to get our drinks, which were delivered by another server who barely looked at us. We didn't see our server again until after we had finished our drinks, she asked if we wanted more drinks but walked away as we tried to ask for our check. She seemed annoyed when we found her to ask for our check. She then sent another two people to come give us the check and about another 15 minutes passed before she came to get our card. Nice view of the city from this angle. Most other roof top bars are so close to other buildings you can't enjoy it as much. Great staff and very comfortable environment. I wish the bar had a more casual and larger menu than currently on offer. But I'm sure it's coming being new and all. Brussels are amazing with a cocktail. As a local I go often and I feel very peaceful and relaxed here. A mature setting if you will. They have a themed bar on another floor but one drink in a Santa mug that you don't keep was 21$.
