The place was not busy 5pm weekday, and staff were all gathered at the bar laughing, ignoring pretty much everyone. No one ever checked on me if I needed anything else or to bring the check. The chips were very well seasoned and perfectly crisp and the dip was very flavorful. Poor waiter, he was alone front of house but was calm and helpful! The outdoor seating area is very cozy and serene. The actual restaurant itself is very nice inside as well. Feels nice and open although not large. We were told it will be family friendly soon so kiddos can join parents on a night out which is nice when no babysitters are available. Food was fresh and delicious. We had the avocado fries, onion rings, dusted fries, and all had a sandwich each. I had the first one on the menu which I thought was going to be a flatbread pizza but that was my fault for misreading the menu. Cocktails were good but nothing crazy to rave about. First time coming in and was super excited, as this place has been on my list for some time now! Sadly, I will not be coming back. --- Came in for a girlfriend's 30th birthday. Unfortunately it seemed busier than usual, as the restaurant looked understaffed. Our table of 6 was incredibly gracious and patient, but the service we received was truly inexcusable, especially when choosing to dine here for such a special occasion. We all ordered drinks as we waited for the birthday girl to get off her shift at the hospital. As she arrived, she couldn't get her drink order in for at least 20 minutes. Then we finally ordered our food. It was an uncomfortably long time from the time we ordered to when we got our food. Since we were patient about the wait, we were quite shocked to receive the wrong salad. By the time we realized it, I'd already stirred it. We called our waitress over to let her know we received the wrong salad, to which she responded: "oh you want the other one?" to which we had to restate we didn't want the other one, we ordered the other one. I couldn't believe she tried to spin that back on us. The next part shocked me: as she took the salad away, she put it back under the heat lamp and served it to another table! On top of this interaction, our food was less than average. Special cooking instructions were requested for allergy purposes (omitting certain things) but were ignored and could have ended quite badly. read more

Had been meaning to try this place. I was in the mood for a sandwich and BLT is my favorite. Not peak hours so not very busy, service was great. I got a BLT and some onion rings. Also got a cocktail, Rosemary's Baby, very good, not scary. The onions were great, battered perfectly, not overdone. The sandwich was okay. I usually like a good balance between amount of bacon and the other ingredients. This one was heavy on the bacon which I am sure would be fine with a lot of people. Probably my new favorite spot in the city... and yes I realize this place is no longer new. But it's new to me and I love it! First off, I love the ambiance. It could be a gross dreary day in Seattle or a beautiful afternoon, no matter it feels like a tropical escape when you walk in. From the decor to the high ceiling fans, foliage and frankly even the temperature inside. Something about it felt tropical. Service was just so-so but that was really my only complaint. They have plenty of fantastic sounding cocktails and wines to choose from. HH is a great option too. Their menu has tons of great options and you must order lots and share. My favorite by far was the roasted chicken bowl. Super flavorful, hearty, and quite a large portion. Other great options are the ceviche and burrata salad. Only miss on this dish was the chard was way overdressed and soggy. Otherwise super flavorful and how can you NOT love burrata. I will definitely be back! read more

The service was a bit lackluster as well. Our server was polite but it took forever to get our check at the end of the night because we couldn't get his attention. Overall, I think this place is cute and great for cocktail hour. I may give the food another try, because the photos on yelp and Instagram look so good!! I loved this place! I had never heard about it and went for the first time with a friend. The trendy interior with a high ceiling gives the restaurant a very open ambience. There is also a patio outside with string lights hanging to make the space more welcoming. I was impressed with how much the restaurant had invested in its decoration. We strolled in around 7 on a Thursday night and there was a decent amount of seating available. The drinks came fairly quickly as did the food. We ordered the pear and Gorgonzola flat bread and the Vietnamese meatball. I liked how they mark on their popular items on the menu. The gorgonzola was pretty overpowering, so the flavor of the pear didn't quite come through. The meatball dish was delicious though. Both portions were big. I would recommend sharing, since it's more of a tapas place. Definitely would love to come back! read more

However, the food is expensive, the portions are small and some of the flavors are underwhelming. We ordered: Salt Cod Croquettes with Lemon Sauce- Pretty good all in all... the sauce was delicious Grilled shrimp - Meh... dry and too much mayo Beet salad - SALTIEST THING I HAVE EVER TASTED. I literally think the salt shaker top was not screwed on correctly... do not recommend Pomegranate and Kale salad- Very bland and boring. Deviled Eggs with Roe- SO GOOD! Soft boiled eggs on crack... This is one of the few times I've been to a bar and had almost nothing to complain about. Okay, the painting in the wall was too "modern" for me. It looked like a monkey using a Sinatra style hat and thinking about life. hehe jk anyway, the food was absolutely great. The attention to detail in the sauces and seasoning they used was superb. I ordered some fish tacos. Awesome. We shared some flat bread, which had some italian style to it (including that italian Ham that I forgot the name). We also shared some french fries, which also had great seasoning. The only little thing i would do to improve the experience is to make the portions bigger, or decrease the price a bit. Although the tacos were good, I felt a bit too expensive to pay $14 for 4 small yellowfin tuna tacos. They also have a good simple wine selection. If you're seriously considering ordering a bottle, they let you taste a bit before opening a full bottle. We had a birthday party, so we ordered some. It was good. I saw other tables ordering some margueritas and stuff, but just I felt the portion was on the smaller side. No big deal, we were diving deep in the wines anyway. Fun fact - the owner could be Brazilian. "Vacilando" is a very common word in Brazil and means 'wondering around', without stressing too much over details. I loved it. 100% recommended. Overall, I think I spent $88 after taxes and tips for 2 people. It was a great experience, but I think they could increase the portions a bit more (or reduce the price per portion). read more

We live down the road and have been making a conscience effort to try out new to us spots in hopes of finding some gems in our neighborhood. This was not it. We came in for lunch and we're the only ones in the place. We were barely acknowledged by the staff. I thought it was a nice touch to order on our phones but when our food was brought the staff felt cold and uninviting. The menu was incredibly limited which is not a big deal but for a place that touts being homemade, fresh and organic the food felt anything but that. The fries and onion rings were good but the burger lacked any flavor, had an odd mushy texture and I never want to eat "homemade American cheese" again. The Rueben had smoked meat which is not what we were expecting. My lifetime DD ordered his usual, a Roy Rogers. I'm not veg but I ordered the king trumpet mushroom tacos at the recommendation of my new vegetarian friend who could count on 2 hands the number of times that she nibbled on bacon or hand a teensy bite of steak. Made with corn tortillas the 4 or 5 tacos were so hearty and deliciously fresh. My dd ordered the beef short ribs malbec glaze & potatoes which were tender, sticky, and yummy. For my post dinner libations I ordered a drink on par with the energy of the discussions, kicked up and liquored up. I asked our perfectly accommodating server for a cup of coffee with a bunch of alcohol in it...bartender's choice. Dinner on the patio was great but I never took my jacket off and they do have shawls draped over a chair or two at each table. The patio filled with guests during our meal. The experience didn't seem to go well for a Slow Saturday night and being 1 of the 2 table after 8pm in courtyard diningin space. 1str round of drinks made it to the table in decent timing. However no water was serve unless you request for water. After then the ball just dropped with food order placed 25 min in. Second round of drinks and food "DIN'T" make it to the ordering system. So we sat there no 2nd drinks & food for another 20 min... so at this point it was (30min of waiting). This sytem didn't seem to go well for a slow period of a Saturday. Also it was not cool to see rats runing through while trying to enjoy the meal. It was nice to try it out, but it's not a place someone would crave for it. read more

Amazing bar restaurant! casual, yet trendy and upscale establishment. Service is top notch, especially considering that it's only two servers when the place is completely full. Smiles and friendly behavior every time I interacted with them. The food. What surprised me the most is our server recommended a vegan loco mocco. This did not make sense to me at all but he swore by it so I took a leap of faith and was rewarded with an amazing Vegan dish. Definitely a must try if it's on the Menu still. Also got the crab artichoke dip and French bean fries, both very solid and great with drinks. Chef Travis did a great job on his menu and you can tell there's a lot of pride in his work. I ordered a Whiskey snap and the fiancé got a Havana. Both extremely smooth, well done cocktails. I wish all the best for this little gem in Cap Hill. It's away from the Broadway rush, but it's worth coming over and enjoying a HH here. Walk into Bar Vacilando and you'll be greeted with a nice open space, lot's of natural light, and indoor/outdoor seating. I felt like I was walking into a cosy, airy bar in Key West; I started thinking about Hemingway and his estate. A table at the entrance held a small stack of menus and the sign read to sit where you like. Just a handful of patrons were there when we arrived and we decided to sit at the bar for easy, quick delivery of drinks and food. The two newest additions to the HH cocktails just happened to be the ones we chose. I went back online because I couldn't recall them! Ugh, but alas, I had a white sangria concoction, and my guy had a bubbly cocktail, both delicious... Our food choices from the HH menu included the cheesy dungeness crab and artichoke dip with flatbread and two beef sliders. The sliders were delicious, not your typical ground beef little patty either, I might add...a good piece of meat that was cooked perfectly, tender, and juicy. Accompanying the beef was Beecher's cheese and caramelised onions. Try them out!!! Great experience here and look forward to returning. However, the food was average like I would expect from any other fusion restaurant. I ordered for Korean chicken wings. I like the crispy touch to it and the sauce was nice spicy and flavorful. However, the oil that it was cooked in had an aftertaste that told me the oil that the chicken was fried in must have been used for several re-fries easier. I also ordered a portion of mushroom tacos. It was the most average taco one could ask for. Was rush for sure - had a bunch of toppings that a taco doesn't necessarily have such as purple cabbage for example. Also the taco lacked the punch of cilantro and onions. I found it pretty bland !! The cocktails are more like 4-5 stars. Not all of them were very good but many of them were outstanding. Amazing and refreshing with perfect mix of bitters and alcohol. The food is more like 4 star. I moved to the neighborhood recently and Bar Vacilando has been at the top of my list of places to try. The aesthetic is amazing, totally something I'm into! We came in (a friend and I) and the entire front section was "reserved" for a party. The party had arrived and was eating their meal so why 5 tables were reserved (only 3 with cards designating they are reserved) for a party that is already eating is beyond me. Once we sat down it took awhile for a server to come by and she greeted us with "do you all know what you want to drink or do you need a few minutes." Having been a server I know the importance of making a connection with the table. I ordered the house wine and my friend had a club soda -- we decided to split a mushroom flatbread (it was amazing) and the brisket and mac'n'cheese. The brisket was fine. Nothing special. The mac'n'cheese was honestly the most bland I've ever had. The noodles were mush, and the béchamel sauce was so thin that it was more like a soup than a sauce. When our server asked how the meal was, I told her the mac'n'cheese was very bland to which she responded "would you like salt?". Salt, while helpful, doesn't make up for her lack of remorse for the kitchen's mistake and it seemed like my complain was written off. She quickly (the fastest the service had been) brought the salt and pepper to the table as said "here you go, darling". Ma'am, I don't know you. Don't call me darling. It's so belittling and condescending when I'm a patron of your restaurant. TLDR: don't come here. Looks aren't everything. Oh, and the tables are still empty. read more

Not enough pickled veggies. I would consider this a very bland bahn mi.. Vegan Mushroom Tacos - No Complaints, just aiight. Kahlua tacos w mango salsa - nope! Not a fan.
