Very mediocre. I knew this was going to be so-so when they served my IPA in a plastic cup and set me up with plastic knife and fork. I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich and got what tasted like a plain chicken breast with lettuce and tomato in a bun that crumbled as I ate it. So it's almost my last day here in the Sunshine state and St. Augustine has really been a great way to round out the trip. The town is the most picturesque of any place on my whole trip, but on the flip side, I encounter more congestion in the three hours here than I hit anywhere else! Anyways, after zipping around after parking looking for a men's room, a nice cop directed me to this spot, its inside a small mall like building, at the end. I end up ordering three appetizers and a salad and a beer. Apparently for certain hours, the appetizers are half off and the beer's are a good deal too. The food was pretty good, a bit salty, but decent overall. Did'nt eat at too many real restaurants on this trip, but needed to save a little after watching gas prices jump ten percent as soon as I landed in this state! read more

Came in for dinner with my sister and they completely messed up on every order. I had to have them return the chicken sandwich because they ended up putting beef on it! I do not recommend this place at all! When we arrived they weren't too busy , we sat down the waiter took our drink and food order, after the waiter dropped off our drinks , he lets us know there will be a "little bit of a wait" , we didn't mind because it is a Friday night. After that , we didn't hear from our server again. Our waters ran out and we waited 45 minutes for our meals , that weren't too great either. After someone else brought our food out to us , each meal 5 minutes apart, our server finally graced us with his presence. We let him know that a meal wasn't too good , he just walked away and later another server comes by to apologize and let us know that they'll take it off. Also to top it off there bathrooms were filthy and had an awful odor. I would rather use a porta-potty instead of their restroom. read more

Should be zero stars for service. It's amazing places like this stay in business. I walked in and no one was there except a cook and two people sitting at the bar talking to the cook. I made eye contact with all three and then wondered around until I found a menu and took a seat. THEN after a bit, one of those people at the counter came over to ask me what I want. So, she appently works here and is not a customer. Wow, no greeting customers who walk in? I left without staying, will never be back and would suggest nobody bother with this place. We were looking for a restaurant that would be unique and stumbled across this gem. Food was as good as any place we have been. Fish & chips were outstanding and hamburgers are 1/2 pound. Staff was some of the best we seen and we travel all over the world. We love places with friendly staff that checks on you often. We will be back! read more

In the past, great staff and good food, but yesterday the food was AWFUL. Our waitress was very very nice, but we waited an hour for four sandwiches, and when they came they were missing items, had cold fries, overcooked chicken, and the Philly steak was actually burnt. We are Florida natives that are from Orlando. We decided to take a trip to St. Augustine for the last weekend of our kids summer vacation. As we were walking around historical downtown St Augustine, we came across Barefoot Bill's and decided we would try them out for lunch. As we walked in, we noticed the place was fairly empty, and we were told to seat ourselves. Shortly after sitting down, we were approached by a server, who then took our drink order. After that, it was at least 15 minutes before she came back to take our food order. I noticed she seemed to be distracted by something going on at the bar cash register, which I am guessing it's what was caused the delay with getting us taken care of. After ordering or food, at least another 15 minutes went by before we were checked on for drink refills (I had to get up and take my cup to the bar to get a refill at one point). After another 10 minutes, our food finally made it out. I can definitely say that it wasn't worth the wait. I ordered the Lava burger, my oldest daughter ordered the Jerk burger, my wife ordered the roast beef sub, and our two youngest split the kids pizza. My burger was bland, with no seasoning on the beef patty. Had it not been for the bbq sauce, they're would have been no flavor. My fries were terribly overcooked. The Jerk burger was overpowering with the jerk seasoning, and the fries were the same as mine. The kids pizza looked like frozen dough with store bought sauce and cheap cheese. The only thing that was made great was my wife's sub. The food was edible, and cured our hunger, but I'm not sure this would be a place we will be visiting again read more

If I could give a rating of negative stars, I would. The food was horrible. The coconut shrimp was dark brown rather than a nice golden brown and the fries had no flavor other than The taste of the cooking oil. Their "side" of coleslaw came in a condiment cup. Even more horrible than the food was the attitude of the waitress who wanted to argue that the shrimp should be dark brown and the manager Tara who stated we could "find another restaurant for dinner". Since she was the "manager", we asked for the owner's information and we were told that we could "find him on Facebook". No worries Tara...we found an awesome restaurant right around the corner with good food and even better service! read more

Typical tourist place where the prices don't match the quality of food. Ordered a variety of food including a turkey sandwich, hamburger and hot dog. My daughter took a few bites of the turkey sandwich and was done. I questioned her on not eating very much, however understood quickly after taking a bite. I can describe the taste as cheap, salty store bought turkey. The hot dog bun was old and crumbled upon picking it up. The hamburger dry and low quality as well. The service was fine, but the food thumbs down. As a local to the area I know this one spot where I won't be returning. read more

Great place to slip into and grab a good sandwich. My husband and I ate French onion soup. It had a lot of flavor and lots of cheese not particularly fond of their choice of bread in it. My husband and I came in with our 3 kids. We walked in through the shopping plaza part to get in. I asked if there was any outside seating and they told me yes, straight through the back doors. We went and sat outside and quite some time passed by and no one came to help us. I went inside and asked if someone could help us and the server said she would be right out. I grab my own menus and go back outside. The server comes out with a condiment caddy, doesn't take our drink order and tells us she will be right back. She walks around to the side of the building. I wondered if there was addiontal seating over there and my husband went to check. Nope, no seating, she went around the corner to smoke a frigging cigarette and left us hanging!!!! Wow, I was shocked. We left. I'm a server, I don't care if she smokes, our order should have came first, that's her job. I'm sad that I didn't get to try the food, the menu looked great. I have never eaten here and, after today's experience, probably never will. I drove to St. Augustine from Jacksonville to meet my sister, visiting from South Florida. With a painfully full bladder, I walked into Barefoot Bill's (the closest place to my car) and noticed the 'no public restrooms' sign. I politely asked the lady bartender if I could please use the restroom. No sympathy there! She very abruptly told me that if I wasn't a paying customer, then no restroom. I said please, because I had just driven a long distance, and needed to use the restroom before a wet-vac would be needed. There was no one else in the restaurant, as it had just opened. No, again. She just told me to walk a few blocks to one of the banks. In 90-degree heat, with a bladder about to burst?!? Very inhospitable! I managed to make it a short distance to Pizzalley's where they were very accommodating. Barefoot Bill's lost any chance at my future business. read more
