LOVE this spot. I've been a regular for the last two months and I have nothing negative to say. I'm frequent the 13th street location and the community there is excellent. The staff are all incredibly friendly, they remember orders, names, pets you name it! The dog wall is adorable and the coffee is always perfect. (One of my favorite espresso roasts in the city). They recently added padding to the bench in the back so it's a super comfortable spot to hang out. Lots of regulars and everyone is SUPER friendly. Shoutout to Doug. These pastries are also awesome. The cinnamon knot, scone and the double chocolate chip cookie are my favs! (They also have breakfast burritos from Papi Chulo)

This is one of my favorite shops in Portland (but not my favorite, just to be clear). The atmosphere feels so Portland... non conventional seating, a little dingy inside and baristas who have the right amount of IDGAD in their attitude. I have frequented this location for over a decade. They have a great patio for people watching over 13th. Parking is challenging but not impossible. They sell out of pastries by afternoon- good for them - but I usually come for the coffee anyway... so no complaints here. Probably the best option in this vicinity of the Pearl. Great for tourists who want an authentic experience, great for people who are in the area to shop/dine, and, most importantly, great for me when I hit my afternoon slump.

The coffee has a delightful aroma and a smooth, pleasant flavor. However, the price doesn't quite match the quantity provided. The building itself is very cool, and the outdoor seating offers a beautiful view of the city, complemented by the fresh scent of jasmine flowers.

Barista Coffee never misses--expertly pulled espresso, cool atmosphere, and top-notch service.

What makes a good Italian cappuccino? It's the robust espresso and sweet foam on top - the right temperature hot hot hot! Who makes the best cappuccino? Barista is in the conversation for me. Last, you need a good barrista artist who can make the sweet foam froth sculpture in the cup look so tempting. Enjoy! I did!

Simple. They have good coffees. Not a crazy sugar laden menu of weirdness or drinks that hide the flavor of the fantastic coffee that they sell. They have a few crafted drinks, sure, but the reason why I enjoyed Barista is that they had different pulls of espressos from different high quality roasters. My wife decided on the Camber roast and I went with the Barista Roasted Blend. The brighter the better for me, and the one they recommended was bright and tasty and exactly what I was hoping for. The parking in the area is all paid, which I get, but it can wrankle to pay more for parking than the drink I plan on buying. Congrats to a city that can make more money doing nothing than the businesses that supply all of the sales and income for the government to tax. The space is coffee to go more than coffee for here. They do have a small handful of tables and even a nice restroom with a coded door. But it's really not a place for a meet cute with your latest tinder swipe. I would return for the amazing coffee. I probably wont though because there are so many other coffee places to try when I zip through the Portland area.

Hazelnut iced latte with oat milk and one of their bags of local beans!
    Isabel W.

Seats offered "inside" and outside. They sell beans that are from their local coffee shop and outside, as well as other merchandise. Each of the bags were $19. I recently learned that the hazelnut is Oregon's state but so when I saw they had a hazelnut latte I knew I had to try it. They offer alternative milk options (their oat milk is oatly!) but it is extra charge vs the other coffee shops I noticed didn't charge anything to switch. Even still, I got the oatly and I got the latte iced. It was pretty amazing actually. It was nutty, creamy bc oatly is just the best oat milk and the espresso cut it nicely. I really enjoyed my iced latte, would definitely go back.

The coffee was good but the service was rude. The workers seemed annoyed and were short with me when I asked a question.

Was very impressed with their coffee. Great flavor espresso, and there was plenty of places you could sit. They also sell really nice beans.

The space feels cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. I especially loved the little post-it wall where customers can leave behind anything they want a small detail that makes the café feel even more personal and community-driven. What I ordered: Soft Cream Matcha One of the creamiest matchas I've ever had! The soft cream was incredibly fluffy and smooth, while the matcha itself was bold enough to come through with every sip and also had a coconuty essence to it. It had just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the matcha. If you love a rich, creamy matcha, this is definitely one to try. Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. The owners were so sweet and welcoming, taking the time to give me recommendations and making sure everyone was taken care of even during a busy rush. Until next time, Portland!

The caramel taste homemade and while it may not be for everyone it was a bit over cooked giving the otherwise very sweet drink a touch of bitter bite at the end. While I didn't stay, the shop was lovely and unique with its tables and floor seating. If in the neighborhood, this is a great spot to pause for a bit between the many shops around. This is nothing on the shop, but I always warn when places are in those older parts of town, ie no parking lot and very small congested side streets around. Be care and slow finding parking as it can be a challenge. For me, this shop is worth it.

We stopped in here after playing a round at the Wonderwood Mini Golf. It had been hot and cramped and we really needed a drink. The door was being held open by a line of people and usually that is a great sign. Being busy is awesome for the business and I am glad they are so popular. It was a weekday, probably around 11 am and there were just so many people in line. It was really cute inside but SO chaotic. There were tons of kids screaming and at times it was difficult to tell where the line really was. After about 5 minutes of the line not moving, I started to get a slight headache from the noise and we agreed we would have to go somewhere else. It was probably for the best as all the indoor and outdoor seating was full so there would have been nowhere for us to eat even if we had braved the line. I think when a business reaches this level of popularity, it's important to put systems in place to keep patrons from feeling crowded and overwhelmed and it's definitely something they might want to look into in the future.
