    Goat Cheese Croquettes
    Sara Z.

We came here for dinner on a weeknight. This is a smaller menu than some other spots in Healdsburg but almost everything was great. The restaurant really is set up like an upscale barn, and the decor is amazing. We shared three starters, the goat cheese croquettes, harvest salad with oranges, and white bean hummus. The croquettes were tiny but very flavorful. They have lavender on top but it's subtle and not overpowering. I loved the salad with 3 types of citrus. The hummus was good, but needed more bread and vegetables for dipping. It wasn't anything special and I may skip it unless you really like hummus. I ordered the burger and would not recommend it. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't great either. The description said it had caramelized onions and cheese inside the burger, but all I tasted was the wine sauce (which was good) and meat. The cheese sprayed out when I cut into it, so even scraping it up, I didn't get a lot of flavor from it. And the bread was too hard and tough for cutting, so I didn't even eat it. It does come a la carte, so I ordered the Persian cucumber that came with it and that was amazing, highly recommend, it's a little spicy and minty, just bursting with flavor. The service was very good. My friend ordered decaf coffee and they brought out another cup free of charge for our other friend to enjoy. However, I did ask the server what to get for my entree and she steered me wrong!!

Ambiance was great! We sat outside and it was nice and quiet - not a ton of tables outside so request ahead of time. Service and food were also great.

What a great place! Food was so yummy!! The staff is friendly and the decor is warm and romantic . The Halibut was outstanding!

This place was delicious. At first, nothing on the menu immediately stood out, so we let our lovely server guide us and she nailed it with the jumbo asparagus, goat cheese croquettes, and house extruded bucatini pasta. The pasta was by far my favorite, especially on a hot day. The only dish we chose on our own was the tikka masala, and I would definitely recommend passing on that one. Our server was funny, friendly, and attentive. The interior was super cute too. And we can't forget the yummy cocktails, topped with the cutest little flowers.

Our first visit to Sonoma and I had to hit up all the foodie spots. After mixed reviews on Barndiva I wanted to be open minded. Based off the history this restaurant has served. My experience was fine but I can't say anything memorable about it. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. Good flavors, good quality meats but the burger was very messy to eat and the fries were not crispy. The inside is adorable and the staff is kind! I came from 4 wine tastings, so I was sad to skip a cocktail with this meal. I needed that break! I'm still happy I got to visit Barndiva. It sounds like maybe it just lost something over the years and I hope that spark comes back soon!

Went to Barndiva on the recommendation of a colleague and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant was extremely charming, from the black and white films projected on the wall by the bar to the antler chandelier in the middle of the room. My husband got a cocktail and I got a glass of wine. I did mention my severe allergies to apple and pear early on, and the server came back and told me what drinks and food to avoid, but the cocktail my husband got was not an "avoid" and it did have apple, so just double check upon receipt! I really enjoyed my glass of chilled red. The food was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. We got the white bean hummus starter (pictured) and shared the crispy chicken and steak frites. Would highly highly recommend the chicken, the flavors were incredible. We will be back on our next visit to Healdsburg!

Came by this Michelin star restaurant in Healdsburg for brunch while spending a couple nights in Sonoma County. Barndiva is set in a barn like atmosphere, and features nightly pre fixe dinner and weekend a la carte brunch. There is both an indoor dining space as well as a beautiful courtyard in the back that is dog friendly. We made reservations the night before, for a party of two. Checking in at the restaurant was a breeze and the host escorted us to a table in the outdoor courtyard while also helping us set up a heater. The à la cart menu is geared primarily towards individual dishes, but there are a few shareable items. Several of the brunch items are also easily shareable themselves. Pastry board: great shareable, consisting of three pastries that seemed freshly made and delicious Croque Madame: beautifully presented, rich in flavor, very filling Steak frites: seasoned well, and very tasty steak. However, we ordered medium rare, and the steak was cooked with inconsistency throughout the meat with parts being more rare Barndiva farm apple pie: beautifully made small pie that's easy to share. Not overly sweet and pairs nicely with the ice cream it comes with Overall, we had a really lovely brunch experience. Other than the inconsistently cooked steak everything was fantastic. For a Michelin starred restaurant, Barndiva brunch is accessible for under $100 a person makes for a pleasant afternoon spot.

This was the first time I've been to a Michelin star restaurant and had a really good, stripped down meal without having to eat at least five courses and a wine pairing. This year, Barndiva went back to an al la carte, back to its roots style menu. And it did not disappoint. I highly recommend the steak, masala, and the trout ceviche. The trout was the most fresh I've been had. So much better than ahi tuna! The masala was a unique menu item. It wasn't very spicy, but was delicious and contrasted the other meals we had. The cocktails here are also experimental, and reminded me of high end speakeasy's. Also really dig the ambiance and service here. The walls are tall with dim lighting, and our waiter was awesome. Price point was better than I expected for a prestigious restaurant. Will definitely come back when I do wine tasting in this area again.

Monte Cristo Sandwich - quite heavy, but tasty

We had a nice time dining here for lunch... Pros- food, quite tasty. The dessert melted in my mouth and was by far my favorite bite! Mocktails were also yummy! Service was great - friendly, attentive staff. Cons- parking is tough! I drove around the blocks several times before finding a spot. If you have reservations, add in time to secure parking before your meal time! While the food was tasty, outside of the cake, there's nothing that stood out as must come back for.... It's rough, Napa Valley is rich with amazing restaurants! My Napa Valley list has over 100 spots, so while I'm happy we tried it, not sure I'd come back for a full meal. Dessert, 100%, but I'll likely pick another list spot to dine.

Decided to have brunch at Barndiva after all the rave reviews and articles saying this is a must stop Barndiva has an elegant upscale farmhouse vibe. The interior is marked by warm medium tone browns and wire sculptures decorate the walls. The see through wine walls tells you this place is serious about their vino. The has several wine choices from bubbly to red. Also their cocktail selection was inventive with lots of their own takes on classic choices. I wanted to try more than a few. We sampled the following: -Reuben Benedict -Sesame Chicken Salad -Strawberry Mimosa -Sleeping Dog (Gincentric Cocktail) -Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice cream Everything was delicious!!! The Reuben Benedict was definitely the table favorite. Very flavorful but also very balanced. The side salad provided a nice palate cleanser. Also the Sleeping Dog was also very good if you are a Gin and Tonic drinker. Service was top notch and prompt. Overall great experience! Highly recommend!

The service was great. Food was good but one was quite heavy. - Turkish bread was my favorite dish of the meal. It's made fresh and served warm. The hummus was light, velvety. - Goat cheese croquettes: the batter wasn't thick, the cheese was light. - Trout rillettes: It's very rich, the deep fried bread stick came with it made it very greasy and heavy - The roasted trout with onion sauce was very good - Chicken paillard: the chicken was thin, breaded, came with great herb-y sauce on top. It's good - My husband got a cocktail and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the dinner and would recommend it.

Now, if you are reading this, this is only a review for their bar program as I was only here for drinks. With 1 Michelin star, I would certainly return for the food. But I was here for libations. And libations were had by I. When you walk and and see the bar, you will certainly notice all of the flora adorning the bar-top. These are all feature in their cocktails in one way or another. They even have little paper place cards telling you the name of some of the botanical bounty featured on the bar. My partner ordered a nice glass of Burgundy Chardonnay and I started with their Sleeping Dogs, a take on a Spanish style of Gin and Tonic. Many of their fresh flowers and herbs made their way into this beverage. Oh, I forgot to mention that this was made by Mr. Daniel from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the perfect mix of calm energy, drink knowledge, and being personable. I then ordered the Strawberry Orange Fizz. Normally, I stick to whiskey drinks but I was just in a gin mood that day. Both of these cocktails were a) beautiful and b) delicious. Not wanting to be wasted during the day after sharing a bottle of wine at lunch, I stopped at 2 drinks, but I certainly wanted to stay. I would certainly return here. Thanks, Daniel!

I'm so obsessed with how gorg the drinks were, especially my Barbie pink Sleeping Dogs mocktail. My friend got the Mystic Peaches. Barndiva was a dream. The duck and scallops (+ parilla leaves. Wow.) might have been the best I've ever tried. Everything was so good--the only thing we didn't love was the fig tart. It was good but a little lackluster. I can't wait to try their brunch! Lily our server was great. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The only thing I personally didn't love, was the interior design. Just not my style, but that doesn't matter when the overall dining experience is top tier. They really earned that @michelinguide star TLDR: amazing food & drinks, excellent service, lovely experience. I rarely give 5 stars but this is a 5/5. Would recommend to a friend! I wanna go back!

    Are kids welcome?

There were a few kids when I had went, a number of dogs too including ours as well

Are you doing Thanksgiving take home dinner?

Can you get away without a reservation? Is there bar seating?

You probably can go in without a reservation, but be ready to wait or go to another restaurant. Barndiva is close to many other places. It wouldn't be a big deal to have to walk to another restaurant if they won't seat you.

Do you allow dogs? I see on BringFido it says Yes and Yelp says no.

We brought our yorkipoo 3 weeks ago and had lunch in their backyard.

Do they have brunch on Saturday?

No. Try Geyserville Grill -THE BEST BRUNCH!

    Are there gluten free options?

Yes, excellent Gluten Free options. Especially on the brunch menu.

    What's the dress code?

Resort casual. Casual. Very unpretentious, kid friendly, dog friendly. Not fancy but fantastic! If that makes sense.

We were only able to get a 5:15 pm reservation on a Saturday night, which was somewhat unusual because the outdoor patio and interior were only about half full. Maybe they allow for walk-ins so I suggest that if you want a later reservation like 7 pm that you try a walk-in instead. It was my husband's 67th birthday, which I indicated on the reservation, and they had a customized menu for him, birthday card, and welcome cocktail of champagne. The service was prompt and very friendly and we started with PEI mussels, served with Costeaux Sourdough Baguette (slightly charred), Poblano Peppers, Roasted Leeks, Heirloom Tomato Broth and Petite Fenne, which was hearty and really delicious ($24). The manager also provided complimentary homemade bread with a black sea salt that you could sprinkle on top, We brought a nice bottle of Robert Young cab and the corkage was $25, which is very reasonable. Husband got the prime Kobe New York steak loin ($63) and was disappointed that it was only half of a normal New York. It came with Brentwood Yellow Corn, Potato Croquette, Perigord Truffle Butter, Bone Marrow and Sauce Bordelaise. He ordered it rare and it was served appropriately. I ordered the bone in Duroc pork loin ($42) served with Yellow Wax Beans, Shishito, Bacon Jam, Parmesan Frico and Jimmy Nardelo Peperonata, which was very tasty. I should have indicated medium rare as it was a little more overcooked than I would like. The accompanying polenta cake and peppers were a delicious compliment. We decided not to have dessert, but they brought us a Snickers dessert for his birthday on the house. It came with Cocoa Tuille, Peanut Powder, Sea Salt and Burnt Caramel and was super yummy. I would definitely go back, highly recommend. The clientele in the restaurant were not super snobby and seemed like locals and regular people out for a good meal.

We were greeted with glasses of champagne, a special menu with our anniversary mentioned on the top, and an anniversary card. All of that was so special and unique which made us feel so welcome! We chose to do the "trust me" chef's dinner. It was a surprise for every dish. This was my first time trying bone marrow and now I am a huge fan. I will say the snickers style dessert was overwhelmingly sweet and I just couldn't finish it. My one problem with how they list it on the menu is "$20 per course". I didn't like thinking about how a somewhat skimpy salad equals out to $20. I think it sounds a bit better to say it's a $100 experience, which sounds like a better way to explain it. This was a fun experience and I enjoyed most of the items but I would not do this again. I feel some of the courses were a little lack luster and I would rather spend a bit more to do a different experience somewhere else.

We enjoyed an incredible @ 9-course meal (it was more like 20 IG you count each AMAZING morsel of sashimi) featuring so many unique and exotic varieties of fish, each course beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. As a pescatarian, I requested that my entire experience be gluten-free and cheese-free, and the team accommodated my request flawlessly. I never felt like I was missing a thing; every dish was creative, flavorful, and beautifully executed! My favorites were the corn bisque and sashimi bites as well as the complex multilayer cucumber dish! I wish I could eat that every night! It was amazingggg Then came the perfect finale After our 9 courses, we were brought upstairs to the rooftop, where we enjoyed three or four different gluten-free desserts while taking in a breathtaking sunset and beautiful views of Healdsburg. For…read morecontext, our party of four had dined at The French Laundry two days earlier, which may have heightened our expectations. That dinner was exceptional and showed us what truly outstanding hospitality can feel like. By comparison, our experience at SingleThread fell far short of the standard we expected from a restaurant of this caliber. The issues began as soon as we arrived. Despite several emails exchanged beforehand and repeated references to personalizing the experience, the staff initially got my name wrong. We were then directed to look through a small kitchen window without any explanation, context, or narrative about what we were seeing. After a few minutes, a small tea drink was served through the window, but we were then left standing in a cramped entry area for roughly 20 minutes with no meaningful interaction from the three people at the desk. During that time, we watched other parties arrive and be escorted elsewhere while no one checked in with us or explained the delay. Eventually, someone from the dining room asked whether we would like to be seated. By that point, I was already frustrated. Once seated, our server quickly described several small dishes arranged on a flower-and-moss-covered faux log, then left before we had any meaningful sense of the menu, the number of courses, or the direction of the meal. When the sommelier arrived and asked us to choose wine or pairings, I felt unable to make an informed decision because I did not know what food was coming. I ultimately chose the wine pairing simply because it seemed like the safest option given the lack of information. The service throughout the evening did not reflect what I would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. There was little storytelling, little hospitality, and very little sense that the experience was being guided with care. A server attempted to clear my plate while my fork and knife were still in my hands. Another server bumped a member of our party with a plate. Most concerning, the staff appeared to lose track of a guest's allergy and served me her plate instead. To be clear, we caught the mistake; the staff did not. That kind of lapse is difficult to overlook. We also consistently had difficulty hearing the descriptions of the dishes as they were presented, which further diminished the sense of connection to the meal. At a restaurant centered so heavily on the progression, story, and precision of each course, that lack of clear communication mattered. The food itself showed creativity, skill, and technique. There were several good courses, a few that felt unusual or less successful, and a couple of truly strong dishes, including the best duck I have had to date. Unfortunately, it was difficult to fully appreciate the food because the service failures were so distracting and so far below expectations. The one clear positive of the evening was the sommelier. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in discussing each pairing and in making recommendations to other members of our party. His service stood apart from the rest of the experience. We will not return. For us, the evening did not feel personal, polished, or worthy of the reputation attached to it. It felt like highly engineered cuisine paired with service that did not meet fine-dining standards. We left The French Laundry two nights earlier talking about every detail with admiration. We left SingleThread frustrated and deeply disappointed.

Food was plated nicely, good portions, fresh and cooked to our liking. Our desserts were bought out with little chocolate Happy Anniversary signs. It was a thoughtful touch. Every staff we interacted with was kind and helpful. One thing to note is the high vaulted sloped ceilings that mimics a wine cave. If someone was talking on the other end the sound traveled up the curve and it's like that person is speaking loudly next to you. The sound booms down. A little startled but depending on where you sit or stand, be aware of your conversation which can travel.

The smoked salmon gougeres sounded tempting, but turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Gougeres are usually served warm, but this one was cold and tasted like a salmon-flavored cream puff. I had the gem lettuce salad next and I liked the addition of strawberries. However, the salad was so drenched in miso vinaigrette that was all you could taste. Overdressed like wearing a tuxedo to a hoedown. I then had "Mary's" version of cordon bleu rolled with chicken and ham on a bed of polenta with spinach and oyster mushrooms with a Dijon jus. It sounded wonderful on the menu, but it was a letdown, oddly flavorless. As I was eating it a local regular next to me said I should have ordered something else - it was not his favorite. How I wish he'd sat down before I ordered!

It took a good 15-20 minutes for the food to come out but it was good! Great place for big groups. This little downtown area is so cute and quaint. Brisket: 4/5 the soft pieces were tasty and then there were some tough pieces which weren't as good. Overall good flavor. Pork shoulder pulled pork: 3/5 very fatty and not as much flavor as the brisket. Chicken: 3/5 a bit too dry for me but others in my party enjoyed it. Pork belly burnt ends: 4/5 good but fatty and sweet. Horseradish slaw: 4/5 could use more horseradish flavor but refreshing as is. Cornbread: 5/5 excellent! And that side butter was sooo good! Liked the crispy edges. Mac n cheese: 3/5 ok shell shaped Baked beans: not a fan or baked beans so no comment. Potato salad: 3/5 ok nothing memorable about this. Fries: 4/5 good Sweet potato tater tots: 5/5 these were better than the fries.

The chicken sandwich, which comes with fries (substitutes allowed), was big - so big that I had half, plus some salad via my wife (who didn't finish what was left, so - yes, large), plus broccolini (the side for my friend). Service was excellent. Lots of outdoor seating, and we were given (as asked for) a well-shaded table. The biggest negative (first-world problem) is with valet parking, which is free (I did tip). If an event is ending at the same time that you finish a meal, there can be a bit of a wait (about 10 minutes, in our case) before your vehicle is brought to the building entrance. So - do the texting for the car a couple minutes before you go outside to wait. (Also, my friend's Xfinity cell phone got zero bars; you can also hand your ticket to a valet, if one is around.)

The coffee crème brûlée was incredible. We will be back on our future visits to the area.

We have been going to boon for years and it holds such a special place in our hearts…read more It's often a place where we gather for date nights, anniversary dinners and special occasions!! We cannot recommend Boon enough for anyone who may be traveling in or even locals who are looking for a locally owned restaurant. Their menu changes often and it is always a joy to see what new dishes they have each time we dine in. Their staff is incredible and the servers are great at making suggestions. The best of the best!!

As someone who has been coming here very frequently for 10+ years and called this my favorite…read morerestaurant, I have to say i'm super bummed by the changes with the chef and menu. Not only were staple long-term vegetarian dishes removed from the menu (polenta lasagna), those that remained were absolutely butchered. The vegan bowl used to be fresh produce from the garden with an incredible sauce that had depth, now it is a tasteless $28 vermicelli bowl that a child could throw together in under 5 min.. Extremely over-fried tofu, no sesame ginger sauce to be found and just a dollop of chili oil on 1/10th of the noodles. The cauliflower appetizer was completely bland and it was very unclear whether it was supposed to be raw or cooked.. We come here (often bringing friends with us excited to share the spot), because it's always been consistently amazing and a good balance of meat and veg options, but it doesn't feel like the new chef is concerned with pleasing the veg customers (though even the presentation on the meat/fish dishes we saw looked messy and unappetizing compared to the past). We gave feedback (out of care/concern, not as "karens") to those who know us there and are hopeful that they'll be heard. We're going to give boon another chance in a few weeks, but i'm not feeling too hopeful after being told we aren't the only regulars feeling the effects of the kitchen changes.
