1444 Pollard Rd Los Gatos, CA 95032 This is the "Baskin-Robbins" at the Rinconada Shopping Center in Los Gatos, CA. I was there around 5pm on a weekday. This is actually a pretty large ice cream shop. Unlike other Baskin-Robbins I have been to, this place has plenty of tables inside and some outside. Otherwise, the layout is the same as any other location. Why only 3-stars? Not much customer service. I walked in, and received no greeting. I had to look around to see if anyone was working there. A young lady stood at the counter, no smile, no hello, she just looked at me. Hmm, I've seen this look before, it's the "my first day on the job" look. So, I just ordered my usual .....2 scoops in a cup, Chocolate Royale and Jamoca. The prices are about the same as other locations. I wasn't offered any napkins, so I helped myself. I didn't get a "thank you" as I left. I'm sure service is great when regular staff are working. If I'm in the area, I might come back. read more

Not too crowded on a hot weekday afternoon. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. When I entered the shop, I was greeted. There are 2 sections of ice cream counters you can peruse through. The left most counter houses the more traditional flavors (chocolate, vanilla, mint chocolate chip, etc). The right most counter is home to more unique flavors. The staff is nice and let's you sample whichever flavors you want so you can get a sense of what the ice cream tastes like before you commit to certain flavors. I tried the ube/taro, watermelon sorbet, and grilled peaches and cream. The ube was good - very creamy and sweet. The watermelon sorbet was also good but more sugary than I could handle in larger quantities. The grilled peaches and cream was interesting, so I ended up getting this flavor in a small cup. After continuing to eat it, I found the grilled peaches and cream to be a bit heavier than I originally thought. There is a nice cinnamon flavor with peach bits. But overall, still a very sweet treat. Good for sweet tooths! Would recommend trying at least a few flavors to expand your palette. read more

The lady was super nice and asked me when I would get there so she could make sure there were fresh waffle cones. Who does that? Love it! When I did make it in, looked like was a change in staff. I just want to reiterate how excellent this branch of Baskin Robbins is! It has by far the freshest, most expertly frozen ice cream of any location in the South Bay. Their scoops are always more than generous. And to top it all off, they have hard-to-find flavors such as my current favorite, Lemon Custard! Worse experience that we have ever had. YOU WOULD NEVER WANT TO ORDER A CAKE FROM THIS STORE NOW UNDER A NEW OWNER. We ordered a dolphin design BIRTHDAY cake that is supposed to say Happy Birthday on the cake. My husband picked up the cake. When he got home, I saw that they gave us a totally different cake (I am sorry for the customer whose cake got sent to us and who probably wouldn't know about this!). My husband then went back to return the wrong cake and pick up "our" cake. The second time in a row they gave us a wrong cake. When my husband got home, we saw that this time it IS a dolphin cake, but the cake says "Merry Christmas". I called the store and turned out that this is a cake for someone else!!! I am so sorry for the other customer who would no longer have his/her Christmas Cake (and I wondered if they just got the wording wrong for the other customer, as it is AUGUST.) Beyond furious about what happened, and the owner didn't show any sincere sorry for this mess-up. I asked that they deliver the right cake to us and she said no. She said well there is nothing we can do and said "ou, you don't have to bring back the cake" and made it sound like this is a favor that she is giving us...Come on. My kids don't want to eat the cake at all as it is all the wrong flavor!!! As I was typing the above, the store called and said that they are willing to give me the refund and ask that we bring back the wrong cake (what?) They said that in order to get the refund, we need to go into the store!! I frankly couldn't believe what I heard when they said this. I came to this store in the middle of the day on a Monday (2/7/22, 2:30pm) looking for a last minute cake. Because it was so last minute I knew my best bet is to try to find the colors of my theme if possible. The staff tried to help me, then asked me what is my theme. She then went to the back and grabbed a pre decorated cake and asked if she can add the colors of my theme with the frosting. I was so grateful that at least I'll get a cake with the colors. I stopped into this location for National Ice Cream Day, and was not disappointed. Due to the occasion, there was a little bit of a crowd both inside and outside the shop, but we could see the line was moving quickly. Once the group ahead of us finished their order, we were attended to by a fellow with great hair. On top of excellent ice cream, he wowed us with a magic trick! I've been coming here for the last two years but the baker was Ellen. ELLEN WAS GREAT AND DID EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR. So this is the cake I wanted. I came in and showed the girl the pic and she said they could do it. Oh lord when I picked up the cake I was flabbergasted and thought I'm was being pranked. The cake was horrible. The owner Gionne was extremely rude, and a terrible business person! He did not own up to the employees mistake. He would only offer a 20% compensation for a cake too small to feed the number of guests I ordered for. I had no choice but to buy another cake large enough to feed the crowd I was serving and very disappointed he would not give me the cake they screwed up on and a deeper discount on a cake I had to buy in order to get to party on time and serve enough people. I am quite impressed with this specific Baskin-Robbins store. Before ordering, like any other of its counterpart stores, you can ask for a sample of the ice cream that you want. I fancied a scoop of Jamoca on a plain cone. Even though it might sound boring with a low price of 3 dollars, I'd pay 5x that amount for the same thing! It is absolutely mouthwatering and savory! Let's talk about the cashier. Of the two times I've been here, the same cashier has been extremely compassionate and considerate. I was surprised that he remembered me from my first visit. He changed my cone after seeing just a few scrapes on the top. And that one scoop I was talking about -- well, it's basically a two scoop after he rolls a huge amount of that ice cream onto the cone. I appreciate this because while I'm enjoying the top, the Jamoca cream is also melting towards the bottom so that I don't chomp on a bland waffle base after I'm finished. I've use this company for years, but recently they've changed ownership, they have a lot to work on. First of all they took a specific order for me, I'm a very detailed individual. The cake looked terrible, they didn't pay attention to the details. Putting the name in the wrong area, not bordering the cake, and using fondant and leaving the seams, very unprofessionally done. Not to mention the price of everything has gone up but $66 for a cake that was thinly layered. They had more cake than they did ice cream in a ice cream cake, it was disappointing. To produce and present a products, such as they have, tells me that they obviously don't have skilled cake decorators. I'll be headed to the Baskin Robbins on Campbell Avenue. I'd been a customer at some other Baskin-Robbins. I was curious to see how that experience changes when the store manager had an interest in further business. I looked up Yelp to locate the highest - rated Baskin-Robbins in my area. Wow! This store is light years ahead of other stores. I was greeted as I entered. Shocking (but in a good way). My order was two milkshakes. I was floored when each of the folks behind the counter completed half my order. They were friendly and efficient, even with a doddering, half deaf old man as a customer. No wonder Yelpers like this store so much! This store is difficult and time consuming for me to get to but it is well worth the trouble. I prefer this store over every other. Tuesday afternoon thinking it's a good day to go exploring in the small city of Saratoga. It's good weather outside perfect day for an ice cream so I decided on basking robins because how could you go wrong. Well let me tell you they missed this time. Never had an issue but everyday is a new isn't it. Walked in ordering a medium cup of my favorite rainbow sherbet flavor. I decided to sit outside since it was an oddly empty grocery shopping center. After several spoonfuls of ice cream I notice a hair and I pause trying to hold back tears almost in disbelief. Considering the fact that i'm almost bald from a hair cut I got a couple days ago, it most certainly could not have been mine. The hair was either white or blonde I couldn't tell but probably from some albino which was confusing because I didn't see any working. Great, the beginning of a bad day then some kid and I am aware of the fact that the customers are not in the hands of the workers, they should really pay attention to their surroundings since it can decrease business but it was no doubt this young man was perked asking if zombies and captain hook was real. I have been going to B&R stores for 37 years. I even managed one for 3 years during my late high school/early college life (i.e. before I TRULY discovered beer). This location is hands down, the best location I have ever visited. As one would be assumed, the store looks the same as others, the product is the same, but what sets this store aside from others is the absolute total best customer service around. Whether you're in the shop ready to mack on a 3-scoop hot fudge pants-expander, or ordering that special someone an ice cream cake, the folks at the Pollard Rd location are tops. While I don't go out to Ice Cream on a regular basis (maybe 10-15 times over the last 6-8 years), the folks in this shop ALWAYS make me feel like they've known me forever. Upon walking in to the sweet smelling room, I am always greeted, even when they are SWAMPED (they are positioned directly across the street from a middle school...they're crazy). I believe the owners are a Korean family. I could be wrong, but they are the only ones who I have ever seen working there. No matter what pre-pubescent chaos is going on, the folks behind the counter are cool, calm, and ready to sling your order with a smile. Beyond the day-to-day stuff, we have ordered ice cream cakes on 4 occasions over the years. Each time, the order has been perfect, even when met with a quick time-frame. One year, we even had a large custom order done within 24 hours...a major ordeal. Lastly, the shop is always clean and well-maintained. I have not personally ever seen it cluttered, even after the hormonal stampede that occurs everyday about 3:15pm. While they do not have a drinking fountain, they have a pitcher with water and cups ready to serve, which is a necessity after some of that belt-expanding yumminess. Suffice it to say, there are a couple other shops around (Coldstone and another B&R) but I go to this one, simply because I like giving them my business. I love this Baskin Robbins!! I use to think every BR is the same since it's just a franchise but I was totally wrong. There is a Baskin Robbins on Los Gatos Blvd (2 minutes from my house) but since finding about this place I'd drive to this BR instead. The ice cream cake here is so fresh and yummy unlike the other BR on Los Gatos Blvd. The owner and the employees here are always so happy and helpful. The owner also makes her own fondants and designs of the ice cream at the shop and she is willing to work with the customers on the specific designs they want (other than just what is out of the cake books). One time I ordered an ice cream to be picked up as soon as they open and the owner told me they open at 11 but if I needed it earlier I am welcome to pick it up at 10:30 and she can meet me there. When I got there at 10:40 she was so happy and she even gave my daughter a free ice cream cone! This place has such great customer service and fresh delicious cake, I am always going to come to this BR for my ice cream cakes!! read more

He wanted the birthday cake with Oreo cookie ice cream "cookies and cream" it was delicious. Just make sure you have room in the freezer for left overs, as ice cream cakes will melt in the fridge. The service was great they they allowed me to make a few changes, and additions to their standard cake (no extra charge) and when I came to pick it up, everything was as ordered. Very pleased and my son was very happy. I have been back since for a few scoops of ice cream and the ladies at the counter I have encountered have been very attentive. I told my son that he wasn't allowed to have two scoops of ice cream and the gracious person at the counter was able to give him a little extra half scoop on top for no charge. There were an abundance of customers in the store this afternoon (with only one person visibly behind the counter??) and he was outstanding. I asked for a taste which sold us on a Quart for $8.99 (why would anyone spend $6.59 for a Pint when double the portion is available for $1.50!?!?). He hand packed the quart of ice cream patiently, precisely, & thoroughly and then didn't flinch when I asked him for a couple of plastic spoons. All this with a store full of people! Perhaps this place is under new management/new ownership? The woman who presided over the ship the past few years was pretty persnickety to the point that it was uncomfortable to be in there for too long.
