Came here today for a specific goal and left with my goal. Currently Baskin-Robbins is having a promotional five dollar, six dollar, seven dollar drinks. The young lady that helped me out was very friendly courteous and successful. Normally, I would only give four out of five star if the experience was positive but four stars due to the price. Typically Baskin-Robbins prices for ice cream is pretty high but because of the nice day was, I thought I would splurge, but I came at the right time when they are having a promotional deal. So I definitely have to give this place a five star rating for the experience and the value I'm getting. read more

I have to totally agree with Dale N! When visiting Monterey, and spending a huge sum of money at a nice, fancy restaurant, skip the dessert menu and walk on over to the local Baskin-Robbins! This place is within walking distance from our hotel and we even burned some calories as we hiked to the brightly lit shop. Joe K and I are loyal fans of Baskin-Robbins!  It never fails in quality. Whenever I have a craving for ice cream or frozen yogurt, Baskin-Robbins comes to mind first! We didn't get anything too complicated like we usually do. Just 2 scoops on a sugar cone. I love the ice cream but had a terrible ordering experience, as I was still looking at the menu the short girl rudely interrupted me. "Do you know what you want" so rude and incredibly unprofessional. Seemed very annoyed as I ordered. A family came in after, it looked like she made a rude comment to her coworker. As a rule, I love 31-Flavors! I usually order the Mint Chocolate Chip, and who doesn't like that? Decades ago I also loved their Daquiri Ice.. so yummy and very refreshing! Last night I ordered a new flavor: Non-Dairy Chocolate.. it was nowhere near the fantastic non-dairy chocolate Trader Joe's used to sell. In fact, it was disgusting. It had a mild almond flavor, which I do not like, and little chocolate chips.. also not expected or desired. The main chocolate flavor wasn't a rich chocolate flavor as I had hoped; instead, it tasted like pure glucose, which is also the main ingredient. ugh! This spot is very hot and miss. The last two visits have been a miss for half my family and a hot for the other. This last visit my son got an old fashioned chocolate milk shake and it was pretty much the consistency of chocolate milk. I got an Oreo shake and even though it was much more "liquidy" than I'm used to I didn't mind bcuz of the Oreo cookies and we'll my daughters scoops of ice cream were just fine. So imagine my disappointment today when I made a trip to use some gift tickets I discovered after having stashed them in a bag some years ago only to be told that they would not honor them at this location! Had an ice cream cake with "white" cake. The cake itself was not amazing, but the ice cream was good. Who knows how long the cakes are sitting in the freezer before you buy them, because there is no date on the cake. Upon entering, the tables had customers, but no staff. Took a few minutes and the 2 young employees came from the back. The location is not amazing because it's a high traffic area, and only a few spots to park. Ah, Baskin Robbins. Rainbow sherbet the way the universe intended it: orange, pineapple, and raspberry. Whomever the "genius" is that thought putting lime into rainbow sherbet is, they should be scorned, mocked, and otherwise unemployed from the ice cream logistics side of things. True, a good mixed berry sherbet is good from time to time, and combined with sprite, makes a tasty float like freeze hybrid. Thats still not true rainbow sherbet though. Orange. Pineapple. Raspberry. When I want to remember warm thoughts of my childhood and my parents(RIP), this sherbet is the way to go. Easy walk from my room at the Victorian Inn which meant a chocolate shake was in the cards for me. If you get a shake at any Baskin-Robbins, ask for it thick. Their ice cream has a tendency to get frothy really quickly when they are made into shakes and don't taste that good. If you drink it fast, you have nothing to worry about. Service was quick and friendly. Thank goodness it wasn't very busy because this location is small and oddly shaped so the ice cream cases are split and at either side of the "L" shaped store. read more
