Bath and Body Works has their annual Candle Day sale this past Friday and Saturday. The $9.95 price is the lowest they've had in years! While I have a Bath and Body Works closer to my new home here in Yolo county, I drove to the Bay so my mom and I could shop together since Candle Day is a tradition for us :p The last time I shopped in person for Candle Day was 2019 and I remember even at 6am, it was a chaotic mess! However, this year we arrived around 7am and there were only a few other customers inside and many employees who were stocking candles and helping out customers. The ladies working here were so helpful! Shoutout to Michelle for letting us know about the additional discount you could sign up for on their app which includes other things like birthday perks! Shawnee was very helpful too letting us know about all the different scents they had out today. This location was fully stocked and my mom and I were able to get all the scents on our list for ourselves and family and friends. It was such a fully stocked and organized location with friendly employees so I'll definitely be back here soon for the Semi Annual Sale!

I think this particular Bath & Body works has a wide variety to choose from and it's a larger store within the East And North Bay Area. The workers are really friendly and the store takes all of the precautions for covid. They have a large White Barn area and I feel like they have a lot of things in stock all the time. Their hours are also more convenient too. The best time to go is whenever they have their 3-wick candle sales, their candles are the best and usually go for like $24. When they sales are on during the holidays they can be as cheap as $8 or $15 if you're willing to wait in line. Their antibacterial, hand soap, lotions, and scents are always really good. I personally like their car fresheners and it keeps my car smelling good for at least a month. This location is located on the second floor of the Concord Sunvalley mall across the elevators and Macy's.

Stumbling across this new business just in time for Mother's Day. It's so hard to figure out what to do with my mom each year and this was special and unique and even a bonding experience. Today in honor is Mother's Day, Saint Sage Candle Bar hosted their first ever private event. I found out about this via social media. I thought this would be the perfect way to spend Mother's Day with my mom because we both like candles--so why not learn how to make our own together!!!!?? I believe the owners name is Kat. She opened Saint sage I believe sometime in April 2023. Trust me! This is such a unique and fun experience, you have to try it. I'll definitely be back. I had such a great time. The Mother's Day event was about $120-130 for both my mom and I, this included supplies to make our own candles as well was light snacks like charcuterie & mimosas. Kat was really nice and a great teacher. She made it really easy to follow the steps to create our candles and the store is just super cute too. You get to choose your own scents and vessel to create your candle in. We even got to put some floral, glitter and crystals in the candle as well. My candle came out LOVELY! I'm obsessed. I mixed Black Opium, White Sage, and Lavender Honey. My mom enjoyed herself as well. I believe she used mostly musk scents.

As there are MANY candles and home decor goods, I proceed to open a jar at the register to explore the scent when she abruptly and rudely said "Don't open that! It's honey! The candles are over there!" Go figure. I doubt I'm the last adult person to mistake a jar for this, given the store merchandise ALL around (you don't see foodstuff, you see pillows, tchotkes and candles, not jars of honey that could be spilled). Needless to say I left thereafter and wished her good luck with business. Treat your customers with better service and respect. She was rude. I won't be shopping there, nor recommending other locals to shop there either. Inventory and decor style still the same from its inception years ago. Curious to see how long they remain in business.

Delivery had been promised so it meant a hassle for relatives living 1,800 miles away. Jory's is closed on Mondays. Maybe that was the hang-up, but delivery had been promised. When they finally arrived, I was greeted with a "Sorry." The flowers were beautiful and so was the amber tone mosaic vase. (I am still enjoying the vase now filled with some dried fall flowers.) But here is where things get a bit strange. When I was rinsing out the vase, I noticed two stickers on the bottom. One said Mervyn's $39.99 and the other said Goodwill $8.99. Mervyn's closed many years ago so today's retail value of the vase would be much more. Who knows how it ended up at Goodwill and then made its way to Jory's. I don't have an issue with recycling from thrift stores. I do it myself. What was very odd to me was Jory's did not take a minute or two to remove the stickers. Very tacky. This would have been a five-star review if the flowers had arrived on time and in a vase that did not show its thrift store origins.
