If I could leave zero stars, I would. Bay Cleaners was an absolute nightmare to deal with. The owner, Nolmart, not only ruined my clothing but also lied about it and became aggressive when I confronted him. Instead of taking accountability, he yelled at me and showed complete disregard for professionalism. A dry cleaner has one job: to clean and care for clothing--not destroy items and mistreat customers. I came here to get my jackets dry cleaned because it was conveniently located and was the perfect location to run all your errands at once being near grocery. However when I received my items back they smelled SUPER moldy. After aerating the items by my window for over a week, the smell lingered so badly I ended up having to put my jacket in the gentle cycle and prayed the smell would go away and my stuff wouldn't get ruined or seeped with mold. I'm disappointed because I paid $25 for two jackets and all I got back was musty smelling articles of clothing that didn't look or feel or smell clean. I don't make reviews, but this place is worth writing one for! I am a first time customer and I had decided on this place due to the fair prices (I checked when I was getting groceries at the Safeway nearby). A few days ago, I had dropped off a lot of wash and fold + dry cleaning for my family of 5 and I. I came back to pick all of it up and was pleasantly surprised with how clean and fast everything came back. There were a few tough, long time stains I had pointed out when dropping off that we personally couldn't get out, but they looked like they were never there when we thoroughly inspected them all. I was actually suppose to make a few trips for all of the laundry, but the owner, Nolmart, had suggested to bring my car around so he could help bring them to me. Saved me a lot of time and effort! My family and I will definitely be coming back again soon and we will recommend them to our friends/other family. read more

Was traveling for business and stayed in town longer than expected. Made the mistake of bringing some shirts and pants here. My favorite shirt was ruined. Pants were ruined. Got lucky on my semi-recent move to North Beach. Very happy the first Dry Clean/Wash & fold facility I walked into was Bay. Norlmart is the man - always attentive and caring for your clothes. I am a pretty heavy user (weekly w&f and dc) and have yet to have any major issue. Had a spot that wasn't removed in the first pass (Dry Clean). BAM! 2 days later back totally fine. Have left money in my pocket (apparently?) many times - always comes back in a little package - thanks, $20! Trusting these folks with my clothes is a big deal. They are fast, available, and competitively priced (given the quality of service) . I understand they are launching a delivery service - give it a try! read more

I had my pants altered there a few times and it was good. But for the fist time I just got my dress altered there and it is completely damaged now. So just be careful about alterations on the dress with them. read more

I have been a customer for about two years and I have always received great service. The current owners took over the business a few years ago, which explains all of the poor reviews before and all of the great reviews since. I really enjoy the friendly relationship with Nolmart and the team. They always greet me by name when I come in, and if I'm just dropping off, I can just leave my items by the counter if there is a line and they take care of processing. Quality is high and consistent. They are open every day and are always open during the posted hours. One thing that is super helpful is their rush service. For only a bit more cost, they can get your items same day or next day. Highly Recommended. read more

This review is long overdue. Had a terrible and frightening experience here. Should have read all of the reviews and avoided this place. Besides destroying my clothing (expensive items) and lying about it, the individual working there who I assume is the owner (named Nolmart?) aggressively lunged several times in my direction from behind the counter when I attempted to calmly show him how the dry cleaning had destroyed my clothing. Not that his behaviour was OK regardless, but I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I recommend anyone avoid this place at all costs. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Bay Cleaners for the past year. The first time I came here I was immediately impressed with their quality service and low prices, compared to other dry cleaners in the area. On my first visit, I brought a silk shirt with an oil stain that another dry cleaner was unable to remove. I had completely given up on this shirt, but when I returned to pick up it up, I was astonished that Bay Cleaners was able to remove the stain. I also love this place because it is SO convenient. Since I already shop at the Bay St. Safeway and use the 24 Hour Fitness in the same building, it is very easy to drop off and pick up my dry cleaning here while doing my weekly grocery shopping. I am also a big fan of their hours of operation as other dry cleaners I have used are closed by the time I get off work or aren't open on weekends. This place is open until 8 pm during the week and is even open on Sundays (not to mention the free parking)! The service is also excellent. read more

I started using them a few months ago and everything has been really excellent so far! I left $80 in my work pants one day (without even knowing it!), and they returned it to me!!! I take all of my laundry here now and really love the personal service, how fast, competitive pricing, and my work clothes come back looking new. I was referred to these cleaners from my brother, as he's been going to them for years. Like a lot of people do in San Francisco, he's moved from place to place all over the city but has always used them no matter where he lives. After using them for a while now, I can see why. They do an awesome job from my shirts and suits to hemming pants and fixing whatever I manage to rip but want to save. The owner Nolmart even calls me when the items I drop off are ready earlier then when I expect. Talk about great customer service! Plus they're in a great location with the 24 fitness and Safeway (with a Trader Joe's nearby). I feel extremely productive when I go to the gym, do my grocery shopping, and pick up my clothes from these guys all in a span of a couple hours. As long as I'm in San Francisco, I'll always take my washing and sewing needs to Bay Cleaners. Now if I can just get them to put everything I take there on my brother's bill........ read more

On vacation in San Francisco and needed my laundry done. As always, hotel prove was just ridiculous and so came here to look for a good laundry service. These guys came up and after reading a few reviews I decided to go ahead. Once we got to the shop and we were greater so nicely and everything was explained to us, I felt like my clothes were in good hands. They even deliver! Went back today to pick up dry cleaning, was not given any explanation as to what had happened to my dry cleaning and was charged $10 which was not half of my dry cleaning services but around 3/4th of the amount. I will definitely not be going back to this place as I previously stated, instead I will go one block away to Water Lily Cleaners to get my items taken care of. With multiple cleaners in the area they charge way too much, about $5.00 per item. To make a simple hem in a pant they charged me $12.00. There are many other cleaners in the area that are just as good, and charge less. read more

Went there Sunday 9/22 mid afternoon to drop off 3 suit jackets. Asked counter person to mark the spots where I needed them to pre spot and treat. She non chalantly marked them so I had to correct her and then she proceeded to tell me the spots may be treated or not because they are just a drop shop and the clothes are taken to a plant. Then I asked her to see if she could ask the plant not to press down too hard on the jackets with the presser, after which she said she had no control since they are just a drop shop. I asked her to just see to it they take good care of the jackets since I got them from abroad and design is hard to find here and the material is quite delicate. She said to take them to another cleaners because I had too many requirements. I mean is that a way to treat a first time customer who came in to try the service?? She lost me at hello - I am going back to my previous cleaner even if it is 3 times farther. read more

Owner is very friendly and they have one day service. They have alterations but the one thing that they have that not very many dry cleaners have is leather/purse cleaning which is different good! Nolmart has kept the store open way past closing time to allow me to pick up my clothes I desperately needed. My shirts come out looking great every time and he has never lost any of my clothes (which I can't say about all cleaners). I live in the Marina and I go out of my way to send my clothes to Nolmart because he does such a great job and is always so nice and helpful. I don't get why so many people are so hard on these cleaners. I live nearby and have been using them for over 4 years and am definitely pleased. I wear a shirt+tie to work every day, so I've been using their wash-and-press service quite a lot. The owner used to live far away and had other people running the store; I think he's personally on-location now, and the store looks better now. Everyone is super-friendly, turnaround time is reasonable, hours are great, and prices are lower than what I've been quoted at other places. Button-breakage used to be an issue, but in response to this they switched their contractor and I haven't had a broken button since. read more

Very impressed. I just moved to the neighborhood from the Marina where I had a long and great relationship with a dry cleaner/wash n fold place and was anxious about finding a new place. I walked in and said it was my first time and a man who I assume is the manager or owner came out, walked me through their prices, explained their wash n fold process, told me I get a discount because of the apartment building I live in, thanked me for the business, shook my hand and welcomed me to the neighborhood. And - he gave me two day service for the regular 3 day because I told him I needed my clothes sooner. Great customer service I was hoping the cleaning would be as good and when I went to pick my wash n fold up today I was so, so impressed. It was folded better than even my old reliable place and smelled awesome. I'm picking up laundry and dry cleaning tomorrow so I'll be really sad if it's messed up somehow but judging by everything so far I highly doubt that. These guys are awesome! I have been bringing my laundry here for a year (maybe longer?) and they've never lost or messed up anything of mine. My wash and fold is ALWAYS finished on time if not sooner, and the owner remembers my name every time I come in. Everyone who works there is very friendly. Plus, It's super convenient (there's a Safeway and a Walgreens there in the complex), and the prices aren't too bad. read more

I see this place getting a lot more business now than about 2 years ago. Friendly service, always happy to see customers come in. I've brought a bag of laundry about a week ago and had it done for $1.25 a pound. Great pricing considering that it washed and folded. My clothes felt soft and clean, something I wouldn't have done myself due to my busy schedule. I really like this place.
