This place is amazing. We live across the street so we come here often. They slay breakfast every time (but get there early). We love the Quattro formaggio omelet and the light tower. The tots, are to die for. And more recently they've proven they can do dinner as well. Our new favorite brunch spot! We came today on a saturday morning and it was packed but the service was awesome, was told a 40 minute wait but they sat us in 10 and you can order drinks in their comfy waiting area while you wait!! The drinks were awesome and the food was absolutely amazing. I got the big country sandwich and it was huge and delicious! I'm ambivalent reviewing this establishment. I've only had great experiences with all staff. My rating overall is for Overall Experience. Food is plentiful, great value. A bit salty sometimes, and the comfort food index goes a tad over the top, too. Perhaps a bit too much bacon and cheese on lots of offerings. Drinks are decent value, tastefully excellent. Skill is evident and consistent! Salads are huge and worth every penny. Really. Excellent. Salads. Come midweek late, and get a booth, maybe, and chill. Best way to enjoy this place IMO. Salmon optional. So what gives? If you come here and it's not busy, ignore my review. But if you've been here a bunch of times as I have, and you chose to wait for a table at the bar, you'll know everyone behind you is barking loudly in your ear, also getting served a drink while they wait for a table or even YOUR seat at the bar. The place needs to discourage people stacking up behind patrons eating their meals at the bar. How do they do this? Not serving them drinks around me!! You'll likely not ever see me again, unless the unruly masses queuing up behind me at the bar, that you attract, are not shrieking in my ears or rudely elbowing me grabbing their drink off the counter! this place is super cute and fun for brunch. my boyfriend and i came during prime lunch time. luckily we only had to wait about 15-20 minutes to find a seat at the bar during a redskins game day. unfortunately for me, they did not have the chargrilled oysters that day, but i did enjoy my fresh squeezed OJ and french toast. the service was good and the vibe inside the restaurant was really nice. highly recommend checking this place out if you're a local or even for the out of towners! read more

I LOVE that Bay Local decided to expand because their other location on Shore Drive just gets so busy sometimes! The biggest improvement from the last location is that parking is so much better at this location because it is located in a shopping center with several businesses. There is a small outdoor seating area for those who are lucky enough to catch some sunshine. I felt like the decor was just as cute as the original Bay Local, but it's different from the beach-theme and is more of an at-home feel. There are plenty of cute couches and chairs at the front for those waiting for a table, unlike the original location. As for seating, there are several tables, benches, booths, as well as the bar for those who don't want to wait for a table. The menu is only a tad different from the Shore Drive location, but nothing that I noticed right away. They also don't have their specials board like the original location, but do offer things like the breakfast sandwich. Their service is great, and all of our food came out in a timely manner. You can never go wrong with one of the eggs benedict. The first time I came they had a tuna benedict special that was so delicious! My only complaint is sometimes my poached egg isn't as runny as I would like it, so I will definitely make a point to let the servers know that is how I want it. But the flavor was amazing! I also LOVED the chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate syrup. You don't even need regular syrup because it was so moist and the chocolate sauce hit the spot! I was luckily able to split with a friend because I don't know if I could eat the whole thing! Another thing I would recommend is the loaded tots as an appetizer (or even your meal if you so desire)! On 7/14 my wife and I went out for breakfast for her birthday. We decided on Bay Local. There was a 15-minute wait, so we went to the bar. We ordered our food and while we waited I started watching the staff. One thing caught my attention immediately. As drinks were being made, staff members did not use the ice scoop in the machine to fill the cups with ice. Everyone used the customers cup as the scoop. One of the hostesses took the lid off of her drinking cup (with the straw still attached) and used her cup as the scoop. She then filled her cup with water and placed the lid back on her cup. When the new staff member reported to work she applied lotion to her hands and then proceeded to fill drinking cups without using the ice scoop, so in my opinion, whatever lotion was on her hands was then also on the ice. I spoke with the manager and relayed what I had witnessed. She quickly pulled the scoop out of the ice (which I had not seen in the 40 minutes I was there). She also seemed surprised about the non-use of the scoop. I informed her that she was also guilty of the same practice that I witnessed. read more

We had a party of 4. For appetizers, we got the tatchos and popcorn shrimp. Omg the shrimp was delicious and savory. Had great flavor. For meals, we got 2 big als, french toast, club sandwhich, and the pesto oysters. While the big als were good, they werw not as described and disappointed slightly. I did not finish it and we expressed that it wasnt what we thought it was. The owner actually came out and heard us out. While it was not necessary, she even took it off the bill. The french toast was definitely different but delicious. The bread is soft although it gives a different apperance. Very flavorful. I LOVE Bay Local! I just moved to the area and have already been twice for breakfast/brunch. My favorite dish so far has been the One Love. It comes with cheese tots, which was really crunchy and yummy! Their portions are pretty big and they've got plenty of healthy options. Their sherbet mimosas are also really refreshing and delicious! My husband has ordered the chicken and waffles, which was good but just a little dry. If you ever plan on going, especially on the weekends, plan on going early or making a reservation (not sure if they take those). It gets packed pretty fast. read more
